About the Pioneer TS-SW3001S4

Dominic DeVito
Pioneer offers a great way to get exceptional bass in tight quarters. These shallow-mount TS Series subs feature a low profile, so you can put them in extremely thin boxes. They'll fit easily behind most truck bench seats while thumping just as hard as conventional subs.

Pioneer offers a great way to get exceptional bass in tight quarters. These shallow-mount TS Series subs feature a low profile, so you can put them in extremely thin boxes. They'll fit easily behind most truck bench seats while thumping just as hard as conventional subs.

Pioneer's Air Suspension Control System locks in air between the main cone and the internal drive cone, causing it to act like a spring. This eliminates the need for a spider structure, reducing the depth of the sub without sacrificing sound quality. The result is punch that goes just about anywhere.

The TS-SW3001S4 12" shallow-mount sub presents a 4-ohm load and handles up to 400 watts RMS. Pioneer reinforces the injection-molded polypropylene cone with basalt and carbon fiber for rigidity and responsiveness. The 3-layer surround sandwiches a layer of fiber between two layers of urethane to keep your bass under control. Pair this sub with a special low-profile enclosure from Pioneer to get the most out of this slender powerhouse.

Features

Shallow Mount Woofer: Pioneer's "Shallow-Mount" subwoofers are designed to provide wider installation options for a broad range of vehicles. They can be mounted behind or under the seats of many vehicles. Although they have a compact design, these woofers still deliver the same big-bass performance of a full-size subwoofer.

Double Cone: The subwoofer features an interlaced Basalt/Carbon Fiber reinforced IMPP (injection molded polypropylene) double-cone woofer. The volcanic-rock fibers create a cone that is lightweight, rigid, well damped, stable in temperature extremes, and more environmentally friendly.

Surround: The double cones use a dual three-layer, fiber-woven, "M"-shaped radial surround to attach to the basket and form the Air Suspension System. This design keeps the voice coil centered, even under high power, for clear and powerful bass.

Air Suspension System: Typical subwoofers use a spider to control the woofer cone's excursion. The Air Suspension System, formed by creating a sealed air space between the double cones, effectively replaces the spider, providing superior design and performance characteristics. It provides excellent linearity and clear bass with low distortion.

Voice Coil: The TS-SW3001S4 has a 3" aluminum, 6-layer long voice coil wound onto a Phenol Resin Coated Glass Cloth bobbin. This design higher efficiency and sensitivity than conventional designs to provide powerful, tight bass.

Magnet: The woofer has a high-power strontium magnet.

Basket: The woofer has a one-piece, die-cast aluminum basket. The basket utilizes its rigid spokes to hold the top and bottom sides of the motor structure securely, effectively minimizing any undesired output loss.

Pole Yoke Design: The woofer's vented and projected pole yoke design allows for better heat dissipation, increased power handling and greatly improved linearity during large excursions by expanding the magnetic field.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Q
Will these fit in a tundra crewmax 2008 without losing leg room? It's almost impossible to find a properly spec box to fit behind the seats without having to move them up a click or two. Any info would be great!

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone or online chat to discuss installation in your vehicle. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see what info we have. If it does not fit, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.
