PPTA is a poly material that's among the lightest and most responsive speaker materials developed. PPTA has high inner loss characteristics, which results in effective resonance damping. This material provides performance similar to metal diaphragm materials, but without the harshness often associated with metal diaphragms. The result is detailed, dynamic sound reproduction. Metal Grilles: Each tweeter has a non-removable metal mesh grille attached. Two Mounting Options: The tweeters may be surface or flush mounted. The tweeters do not swivel when flush or surface mounted. The minivan's tweeters are located on the dash and they come off very easily. I did not have to cut any holes or do anything special to the van, the new tweeters came with a base that was the correct size for the minivan's tweeter holes, I just snapped them in. They work great and are far superior to the cheap factory tweeters. comes with Pros: Right size, very inexpensive and provide a much superior sound than the factory speakers. Cons: There are no adapters to be able to use the factory speaker plug, so I had to cut the factory wires and cable the tweeters cables together by using a wire nut connector.. A minor inconvenience.
