About the Pioneer Stage 4 TS-W252PRS

Dominic DeVito

Bass that hits hard and sounds great

A stiff woofer cone is optimal for moving air to create powerful bass, but a cone that's too heavy loses control and introduces distortion into your music. Pioneer utilizes the properties of different materials to create a cone that provides reliable stiffness, yet is light enough to respond to rapid changes in your music. The cone features an Aramid fiber surface layer, a polypropylene core, and a glass fiber reinforcement layer — all three work in tandem to pump out great bass that's not dragged down by excess baggage.

Bass that hits hard and sounds great

Pioneer's Stage 4 Reference Series subwoofers add premium bass to your system — you'll hear accurate, lifelike low end that hits like a ton of bricks. Pioneer loads this bass powerhouse with a wide array of advanced features and technologies to make sure you get the most out of your music.

The right cone for the job

A stiff woofer cone is optimal for moving air to create powerful bass, but a cone that's too heavy loses control and introduces distortion into your music. Pioneer utilizes the properties of different materials to create a cone that provides reliable stiffness, yet is light enough to respond to rapid changes in your music. The cone features an Aramid fiber surface layer, a polypropylene core, and a glass fiber reinforcement layer — all three work in tandem to pump out great bass that's not dragged down by excess baggage.

Pioneer also primes their Stage 4 subs with a patented suspension system which utilizes progressive flexing to keep the cone perfectly centered during heavy play. A butyl-coated fiber surround also promotes the deep excursion that you need for strong performance.

Authoritative and accurate

The TS-W252PRS 10" subwoofer handles up to 400 watts RMS for high-impact bass. A die-cast aluminum frame adds strength and gives the sub stability over the long haul. Pioneer recommends using this sub in a sealed enclosure for accurate, powerful performance.

Features

IMX Cone: Pioneer's proprietary 3-Layer IMX (Injection Molded Matrix) cones are rigid yet lightweight; they consist of an aramid fiber surface layer, foamed polypropylene core, and glass fiber reinforcement layer. The surround is corrugated and rubber coated.

Cast Aluminum Basket: The cast aluminum basket assembly holds the motor assembly, cone, and magnet structure securely in place. The benefits of this design include reduced internal stress, superior damping, and increased magnetic efficiency.

Terminal: The gold plated set screw terminal accepts bare wire up to 4 gauge.

Sealed Box Volume: Pioneer recommends the woofer be mounted in a sealed enclosure of 1.0 ft³.

Q
What are some amps that I could use with this?

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for those subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.
