Save space and still get great bass with the TS-W304F from Pioneer. This 12" subwoofer is designed for use in free-air applications, so you can mount it in your trunk or other area and not lose any cargo space to a heavy enclosure.

It has a foamed IMPP woofer with ferrite magnet to bring out the best in your low notes. Pioneer's Voice Coil Cooling System limits built-up heat that can cause distortion and break-up. A dual layer urethane surround is resistant to inclement weather and unfavorable road conditions.

  • foamed IMPP composite cone with urethane surround
  • frequency response 18-2,000 Hz
  • power range 50-300 watts RMS
  • peak power 600 watts
  • sensitivity 90 dB
  • 4-ohm impedance
  • recommended airspace 5.3 cubic feet
  • Recommended Q-Logic Box Type: none
  • 1-year warranty

What's a component sub and why would I want one?

A component sub is simply a speaker that's designed to reproduce bass once it's installed in a compatible enclosure. Think about the impact of a movie soundtrack in a big theater or even in your own home HDTV setup. A component sub can add the same kind of power to the music in your car. And a car sub is not all about the boom that you hear on a street corner (although that's cool too) - you can pair a component sub with your choice of enclosure to get bass just the way you like it, from tight and punchy to fat and loose. And once you experience music in your car with a well-tuned subwoofer, you'll never go back.

Free-air Design: This subwoofer is not designed to be mounted in an enclosure. A free-air subwoofer is designed to be mounted on a baffle board which separates two areas of the vehicle. For instance, you could mount this woofer to a board attached to the rear deck or placed in the trunk against the rear seat. The trunk acts as the enclosure housing the subwoofer. Free-air subwoofers save space and have flat frequency response.

Woofer: The TS-W304F has a Foamed IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) Rigilite composite cone woofer. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. The cone is lightweight and rigid for low distortion and superior bass response.

Dual-Layer Urethane Surround: The dual-layer urethane surround has very high internal loss, which reduces speaker cone distortion.

Voice Coil Cooling System: The Voice Coil Cooling System reduces voice coil heat, allowing for stable bass reproduction and reinforced power handling capability.

Long Voice Coil Design: The long voice coil design allows expanded piston motion for better linearity and improved power handling.

Extended Pole Yoke: The extended pole yoke extends the magnetic field, greatly improving linearity during large woofer excursions at high input levels.

Vented Pole Yoke: The vented pole yoke allows air circulation in the magnetic circuitry to ensure better heat dissipation.
