Home for a 10" sub

The enclosure houses Pioneer's TS-SW2502S4 10" sub, which features an oversized, mica-injected molded resin cone that moves more air for enhanced bass response. Its dual-spider design helps to stabilize the cone and support the linear movement needed to pump out big volume.

The TS-SWX2502 also features angled push terminals which allow the connection wires to remain straight rather than being bent to fit horizontal or vertical terminals. This saves space and makes installation easier as well as reducing stress on the wires.

Features

Overview: The Pioneer TS-SWX2502 is a sealed, shallow-mount enclosure preloaded with a 10" mica reinforced IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) cone woofer. The system is rated at 300-watts nominal (1200-watts max) with a frequency response of 20-200 Hz (-20 dB).

Sealed Enclosure: The enclosure is made of 5/8" MDF, wrapped in black carpet, with internal bracing to ensure rigidity and durability.

10" Woofer: The enclosure is loaded with one 10" shallow-Mount subwoofer with a Mica reinforced IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) composite cone. The process of bonding reinforced pulp to the back of the cone improves its damping capability and eliminates excess vibration. The oversized cone structure provides more surface area without changing the external dimensions, producing louder and deeper bass by moving more air.

Speaker Terminals: The spring-post wire terminals will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10-gauge. The woofer presents a 4-ohm load to your connected amplifier.

Mounting: The TS-SWX2502 includes two metal "L" shaped brackets and eight 1" self-tapping screws to mount the enclosure securely in your vehicle.

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

Depends on the dimensions of the area behind the seat. Measure that and compare it with the specs of the sub box.

I've got a 1993 Chevy extended cab, and am curious if this will fit under the back seat. Anybody installed one under the back seat of '88-'98 Chevy extended cab?
jesse  Jul 28, 2015

A
Not sure. How much clearance do you have under the seat? I put one in the rear hatch area of my 89 mustang. I really like it! It is about 8 inches high. So if you have 8 inches clearance it will fit and I think you will like it

I have an 02 chevy , it fit good and sounds great

Q
would this be enough for a 4 door truck? & will this hook up to a stock stero?
kobe  Mar 28, 2015
9 answers
A
I put this into the trunk of a 2006 Honda Accord Hybrid and it fills in the low range very nicely. The Hybrid has a huge battery pack sitting in the space between the trunk and the rear seat backs -still get plenty of low end. If you want serious thump or block-rockin bass, this is not the item for you. Still, it hits hard and the sound is clean. Putting it inside the cab of your truck will make a huge difference.
william  Mar 29, 2015
A
Sorry, I cant help you with that. We still haven't installed the unit.
trey  Mar 29, 2015
A
IT will give you some thump, but not with the stock setup. You would need a separate amp that has line in inputs from the stereo and a built in crossover. I have 2 of them in back of my Chrysler aspen running off a 1000 watt Sony amp. Very impressed with the low end bass for a 10" sub.
scott j  Mar 29, 2015
A
It should be enough. I put mine into a civic hatchback and its loud without being over powering. You can buy equipment to hook it up to a stock radio but you will still need a amp to power the sub.
paul  Mar 29, 2015
A
I have this in my 2006 supercab. Plenty of bass from it. I run this through a pioneer GM D9601. My factory did not have sub outputs.
jefferey  Mar 29, 2015
A
Yes, it is perfect for a four door truck but it is not a powered sub with amplifier, so you would need an external amp and aftermarket stereo to hook it up to. It will not work with a stock radio.
sean  Mar 29, 2015
A
Oh yeah... It's plenty for a 4 door truck. It is the most powerful 10" sub I've ever heard! People will swear that you have a pair of 12's hidden somewhere. It does require a larger amplifier (mono block 1200-1500 watts) to get the full potential, but we'll worth it. The only way it will work with a factory head unit is with a device called a line output converter. Relatively inexpensive and easy to install.
todd  Mar 29, 2015
A
yes, it sounds great in my explorer. and depends upon what stero you have
john  Mar 29, 2015
A
Depends on the truck as they aren't all the same size and how much bass you are going for. It should be enough, this thing packs a punch. As for the stock stereo question, that depends if you stereo has a built in amp with a straight subwoofer line (most likely it doesn't). You'll need an amp and the radio will need the amp plugs in the back.

Q
do you guys think this is a good kit for the PIONEER TSSWX2502 10-Inch Shallow-Mount Pre-Loaded Enclosure Sub Woofer BOSS Audio KIT2 8 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit Boss Audio Riot Monoblock Class A/B Amplifier R1100M, 1100-Watts, Black?
jonathan  Feb 03, 2015
1 answer
A
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: I'm not familiar with the Boss amp, but the Pioneer speaker is looking for 300 watts RMS and since it's a 4 ohm speaker the amp can't be rated any higher than 300 watts RMS at 4 ohm. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
do you think this sub is good for a high school student and is it good one to put inside in the trunk of a subaru wrx impereza 2014 hatch back?
jonathan  Feb 02, 2015

A
The sub is excellent, however, I cannot answer for its suitability in the Subaru WRX Impreza. That question is for Crutchfield to answer.
paul  Feb 03, 2015
A
Speaker handles plenty of power and has good tight low end bass, but not booming, teeth rattling bass.
scott j  Feb 03, 2015
A
Well it depends what you are going for. I personally love it because in my tiny little Honda CR-X and it provide more than enough bass to rattle a few panels when I really crank it up. The adjustable bass knob is great for keeping it low when you want and really kicking it up for your favourite songs. For what it is, it is a perfect sub that doesn't distort the music once you set it up right.

Hi, recently purchased a JVC head unit from Crutchfield. The sound improvement over stock is fantastic but now I'm looking to round out the sound a little bit by adding some bass. What wattage amp would you recommend? RMS and peak?.... Thanks for taking the time to answer.
