Add some boom to your daily drive

Is your vehicle's audio system sounding a little thin? Pioneer's Champion Series subs can remedy that situation, bringing out all the punch and power in your music by filling in the lowest frequencies of the sound spectrum. Throw one or two of these subs in your daily ride, power them up with a nice amp, and you'll understand what the fuss is all about — whatever you listen to, great bass will make it sound much, much better.

Built tough to give you solid bass

The TS-W260D4 10" subwoofer features a seamless IMPP cone that's injection-molded for exceptional precision and strength. A double-layered elastic polymer surround supports the woofer during cone excursion so you'll get right-on, hard-hitting bass notes even when the music's turned up loud. The dual 4-ohm voice coils allow you to wire the sub for 2- or 8-ohm impedance, so you get the flexibility you need when you add more Champion Series subs in the future.

Features

Woofer: The Pioneer Champion series TS-W260D4 features a seamless IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) composite cone. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. The cone is lightweight and rigid for low distortion and superior bass response.

Surround: The surround is made of dual-layer, fiber reinforced elastic polymer.

Dual 4-ohm Voice Coils: This woofer features two 4-ohm voice coils that offer wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 2-ohm load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents an 8-ohm load.

Terminals: Both sets of the woofer's spring compression binding post terminals are side-by-side for easy wiring. Each post will accept a pin connector, a single banana plug, or bare wire up to 8 gauge.

Double-stacked Magnet: The woofer uses double-stacked high energy magnets to create a powerful magnetic force. This increases the control exerted over the voice coil and the power transferred to the cone.

Specifications

Sealed Box Volume: The recommended sealed box volume is 0.8 ft³ (from 0.65 ft³ to 1.25 ft³ is acceptable).

Vented Box Volume: The recommended vented box volume is 1.1 ft³ with a 3" diameter x 7.5" long port (0.9 ft³ to 1.5 ft³ is acceptable).

Single Reflex Bandpass Volume: The bandpass box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 0.45 ft³ per chamber to 0.8 ft³ per chamber; with an ideal size of 0.6 ft³ per chamber. One 3" diameter x 6" long port should be used in an enclosure with 0.6 ft³ chambers.

Q
I currently have one on these hooked up to an old odyssey audio 450w amp and it pounds. I just purchased another one and have them in a ported box but the amp cannot handle the two subs it barely powers them so I was curious on which amp would be a perfect set up for these two tens?

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.

Q
Planning on installing this sub in a small Miata. Very little room for the sound to expand, and while I had planned to use the perfect sized ported box, not so sure now. All the reviews, and information lead me to think a sealed box is ideal for this sub, but my experience is the ported box will help make up for the limited space for sound expansion. Is this sub that highly recommended in a sealed box, or would a ported box still be my best option?

I purchased this a year ago , I found this sub does better in a ported box , I have a 95 integra and went with this so I could get my trunk back had 2 12"s in a dual ported sealed banpass box running 500 rms . is this little guy just one of them rocks just as hard . and I yes it will be just fine if the ported box is on the small size this box I'm running is too small and it's great only thing is since my box is too small I don't have the super duper zoomy bass , but it's still there just just not as much as it would be if I had the right box. I thing this would be great for you and for the price and the value you can't beat this sub I love it and would buy it again. this is a high quality sub . and is a beast. most people can't even tell I took 2 12's out of my car and only have 1 ten

I have it in a sealed box just over 1 cu. ft. with only 100 wpc and it's plenty loud for my tastes. The response is fast. The sound is tight and pretty flat down to about 30 Hz. 25 Hz is audible but not powerful. Basically nothing at 20 and below. For a compact application it's a nice sounding sub. I don't like the peaky-ness of ported boxes. ymmv.
