Add some boom to your daily drive

Is your vehicle's audio system sounding a little thin? Pioneer's Champion Series subs can remedy that situation, bringing out all the punch and power in your music by filling in the lowest frequencies of the sound spectrum. Throw one or two of these subs in your daily ride, power them up with a nice amp, and you'll understand what the fuss is all about — whatever you listen to, great bass will make it sound much, much better.

Built tough to give you solid bass

The TS-W310D4 12" subwoofer features a seamless IMPP cone that's injection-molded for exceptional precision and strength. A double-layered elastic polymer surround supports the woofer during cone excursion so you'll get right-on, hard-hitting bass notes even when the music's turned up loud. The dual 4-ohm voice coils allow you to wire the sub for 2- or 8-ohm impedance, so you get the flexibility you need when you add more Champion Series subs in the future.

To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 300 and 600 watts RMS at 2 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

What's a component sub and why would I want one?

A component sub is simply a speaker that's designed to reproduce bass once it's installed in a compatible enclosure. Think about the impact of a movie soundtrack in a big theater or even in your own home HDTV setup. A component sub can add the same kind of power to the music in your car. And a car sub is not all about the boom that you hear on a street corner (although that's cool too) - you can pair a component sub with your choice of enclosure to get bass just the way you like it, from tight and punchy to fat and loose. And once you experience music in your car with a well-tuned subwoofer, you'll never go back.

Features

Woofer: The Pioneer Champion series TS-W310D4 features a seamless IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) composite cone. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. The cone is lightweight and rigid for low distortion and superior bass response.

Surround: The surround is made of dual-layer, fiber reinforced elastic polymer.

Dual 4-ohm Voice Coils: This woofer features two 4-ohm voice coils that offer wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 2-ohm load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents an 8-ohm load.

Terminals: Both sets of the woofer's spring compression binding post terminals are side-by-side for easy wiring. Each post will accept a pin connector, a single banana plug, or bare wire up to 8 gauge.

Double-stacked Magnet: The woofer uses double-stacked high energy magnets to create a powerful magnetic force. This increases the control exerted over the voice coil and the power transferred to the cone.

Specifications

Sealed Box Volume: The recommended sealed box volume is 1.25 ft³ (from 0.85 ft³ to 1.75 ft³ is acceptable).

Vented Box Volume: The recommended vented box volume is 1.5 ft³ with a 3" diameter x 6" long port (1.25 ft³ to 2.0 ft³ is acceptable).

Single Reflex Bandpass Volume: The bandpass box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 0.7 ft³ per chamber to 1.1 ft³ per chamber; with an ideal size of 0.9 ft³ per chamber. One 3" diameter x 5" long port should be used in an enclosure with 0.9 ft³ chambers.

This Pioneer subwoofer is well constructed, sounds excellent, and has made a huge improvement in overall sound balance!

Pros: I like the surround material, the woofer material, and ability to deliver accurate sound with an array of music genres. I like almost all types of music, especially dubstep, hip hop, and jazz.

Cons: Could use more rms watts, but for the money, it can't be beat!

Really good buy

Bought this and paired it with for kicker 6 by 9's and its awesome the sub carries the base and the kickers and the highs I also use a crunch 1000 watt amp it hits so hard. Look into how u wire it affects your ohms and that affects how powerful of an amp u need

Pros: Great base

Cons: Wiring to the amp for optimal sound quality a little tricky

Bought this woofer at the recommendation of a Crutchfield consultant after supplying him with all of my system parameters and the desired listening quality for both low and high volumes. The guy must be a sound system genius. I couldn't ask for anything better. This woofer is comfortably audible and balanced at low volumes without being overbearing and hits hard, REALLY hard, when needed at "excessive" listening levels.

Pros: Wide range of performance, well built, affordable, excellent bang for you buck

Cons: Can't think of a single one...

Big bass at the right price!

Great subwoofer and is a perfect match with my alpine 500w x 2 ohm amp. Wired at 2 ohms and is the best subwoofer I've used so far. I've experimented with countless other brands and this outperforms 5 brands so far. Excellent subwoofer!

Pros: Big bass, great price!

Cons: None

bought this DVC sub, wired it for 2ohm load and installed in a sealed box with 1.30 cu air space volume, and hooked it up to my Alpine class D mono amp at 500watts rms. and all I have to say is WOW....................speachless, I had to turn down my bass, freqency, and gain to nearly 1/8 through 1/4 down. this sub slams super hard!!! pushes alot of SPL in my 2012 optima. I highly reccommend this sub. bad a$$

Pros: high rated db. ratio, easy to wire to your confurations, performs well in a seal box. looks cool and diffrent

Cons: I have not found this model sub in a DVC 2ohm.
