Add some boom to your daily drive

Is your vehicle's audio system sounding a little thin? Pioneer's Champion Series subs can remedy that situation, bringing out all the punch and power in your music by filling in the lowest frequencies of the sound spectrum. Throw one or two of these subs in your daily ride, power them up with a nice amp, and you'll understand what the fuss is all about — whatever you listen to, great bass will make it sound much, much better.

Built tough to give you solid bass

The TS-W310D4 12" subwoofer features a seamless IMPP cone that's injection-molded for exceptional precision and strength. A double-layered elastic polymer surround supports the woofer during cone excursion so you'll get right-on, hard-hitting bass notes even when the music's turned up loud. The dual 4-ohm voice coils allow you to wire the sub for 2- or 8-ohm impedance, so you get the flexibility you need when you add more Champion Series subs in the future.

Features

Woofer: The Pioneer Champion series TS-W310D4 features a seamless IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) composite cone. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. The cone is lightweight and rigid for low distortion and superior bass response.

Surround: The surround is made of dual-layer, fiber reinforced elastic polymer.

Dual 4-ohm Voice Coils: This woofer features two 4-ohm voice coils that offer wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 2-ohm load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents an 8-ohm load.

Terminals: Both sets of the woofer's spring compression binding post terminals are side-by-side for easy wiring. Each post will accept a pin connector, a single banana plug, or bare wire up to 8 gauge.

Double-stacked Magnet: The woofer uses double-stacked high energy magnets to create a powerful magnetic force. This increases the control exerted over the voice coil and the power transferred to the cone.

Specifications

Sealed Box Volume: The recommended sealed box volume is 1.25 ft³ (from 0.85 ft³ to 1.75 ft³ is acceptable).

Vented Box Volume: The recommended vented box volume is 1.5 ft³ with a 3" diameter x 6" long port (1.25 ft³ to 2.0 ft³ is acceptable).

Single Reflex Bandpass Volume: The bandpass box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 0.7 ft³ per chamber to 1.1 ft³ per chamber; with an ideal size of 0.9 ft³ per chamber. One 3" diameter x 5" long port should be used in an enclosure with 0.9 ft³ chambers.

Customer Q&A

Q
Would this sub be safe to use and also hit pretty hard with a Jensen Power 900.1, 900W Max, Power Series Class AB Monoblock Amplifie at 2 ohms: 450 watts x 1 chan. ?

A
I have been using a Competition 2400w Amplifier and still have drop out or cut-off when it hits hard. So even at 1200W per channel it is still pulling too many watts, so I would definitely NOT recommend anything less than the actual 1400W each for these subs. They do hit hard and have great response, especially with a sealed box. Just remember, whatever speakers you get, always make sure your amp can push the peak power of your speakers.

Q
If i wire 1 of these speakers up to a 1000 watt amp (RMS) will the speaker over heat?
andrew  Feb 10, 2014
1 answer
A
Connecting one of these subwoofers to a 1000 watts RMS amplifier, at full power, will result in serious damage to the speaker. For information on selecting the best amp and subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help you make the choices for your system and budget.
