Add some boom to your daily drive

Is your vehicle's audio system sounding a little thin? Pioneer's Champion Series subs can remedy that situation, bringing out all the punch and power in your music by filling in the lowest frequencies of the sound spectrum. Throw one or two of these subs in your daily ride, power them up with a nice amp, and you'll understand what the fuss is all about — whatever you listen to, great bass will make it sound much, much better.

Built tough to give you solid bass

The TS-W310S4 12" subwoofer features a seamless IMPP cone that's injection-molded for exceptional precision and strength. A double-layered elastic polymer surround supports the woofer during cone excursion so you'll get right-on, hard-hitting bass notes even when the music's turned up loud. Wire a pair of these in parallel and they're a great match for a mono amplifier.

To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 300 and 600 watts RMS at 4 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

What's a component sub and why would I want one?

A component sub is simply a speaker that's designed to reproduce bass once it's installed in a compatible enclosure. Think about the impact of a movie soundtrack in a big theater or even in your own home HDTV setup. A component sub can add the same kind of power to the music in your car. And a car sub is not all about the boom that you hear on a street corner (although that's cool too) - you can pair a component sub with your choice of enclosure to get bass just the way you like it, from tight and punchy to fat and loose. And once you experience music in your car with a well-tuned subwoofer, you'll never go back.

Have pioneer premier prs d1200m amp. I've had rf p2s, some other rfs, and jl audios. All 12's all ran at 2 ohms. These pioneers hit cleaner, lower, and harder than all mentioned above with same box and amp.

Pros: Clean. Low. Hard. Good value

Cons: None yet.

Nice sound

I'm in the process of upgrading my system in my 740IL, factory subs are going out so I hooked this sub up to 1 of the 4 rear sub connections, wow and I haven't hooked up the rest of my Pioneer system yet.

Pros: Price & sound

Cons: plastic surround around the face of the sub, while mounting in your enclosure be careful you can crack it if you drill too fast and get too tight

Nice Upgrade

A nice upgrade from my previous MTX Road Thunder 12. Powering it with a MTX 4002 amp, running 400 watts to it, mono, in a sealed Q Logic enclosure. Hits hard, and bass is tight, but not in a bad way. Looks great, performs well, and I would certainly buy this product again. Crutchfield, as always, was extremely easy to deal with, and the sub was at my doorstep in less than 24 hours.

Woofer: The Pioneer Champion series TS-W310S4 features a seamless IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) composite cone. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. The cone is lightweight and rigid for low distortion and superior bass response.

Surround: The surround is made of dual-layer, fiber reinforced elastic polymer.

Terminals: The woofer's spring compression binding post terminals are side-by-side for easy wiring. Each post will accept a pin connector, a single banana plug, or bare wire up to 8 gauge.

Double-stacked Magnet: The woofer uses double-stacked high energy magnets to create a powerful magnetic force. This increases the control exerted over the voice coil and the power transferred to the cone.

Sealed Box Volume: The recommended sealed box volume is 1.25 ft³ (from 0.85 ft³ to 1.75 ft³ is acceptable).

Vented Box Volume: The recommended vented box volume is 1.5 ft³ with a 3" diameter x 5.5" long port (1.25 ft³ to 2.0 ft³ is acceptable).

Single Reflex Bandpass Volume: The bandpass box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 0.7 ft³ per chamber to 1.1 ft³ per chamber; with an ideal size of 0.9 ft³ per chamber. One 3" diameter x 5" long port should be used in an enclosure with 0.9 ft³ chambers.
