Pioneer Premier's Champion Series subs deliver high-impact bass without thrashing your wallet. They combine top-notch materials with precise construction, so you hear dynamic low end that really stands out.

The TS-W1208D2 12" subwoofer features an injection-molded polypropylene cone, backed with basalt and Aramid fiber for durability and rigidity without packing on unnecessary weight. The sub's 3-layer surround sandwiches interwoven fiber between two layers of urethane for long excursion with exceptional accuracy. Add a solid dual-mass magnet assembly for increased control and hard-hitting propulsive power, and you've got yourself a tremendous bass value.

The dual 2-ohm voice coils allow you to set up a high-powered system with a compatible low-impedance amp. Pioneer makes it easy to reconfigure the sub's wiring to the impedance you need.

What's a component sub and why would I want one?

A component sub is simply a speaker that's designed to reproduce bass once it's installed in a compatible enclosure. Think about the impact of a movie soundtrack in a big theater or even in your own home HDTV setup. A component sub can add the same kind of power to the music in your car. And a car sub is not all about the boom that you hear on a street corner (although that's cool too) - you can pair a component sub with your choice of enclosure to get bass just the way you like it, from tight and punchy to fat and loose. And once you experience music in your car with a well-tuned subwoofer, you'll never go back.

Warranty Note

Woofer: The TS-W1208D2 is an IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) composite cone woofer with interlaced Basalt and Aramid fibers. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. The cone is lightweight and rigid for low distortion and superior bass response.

3-Layer Urethane Surround: The surround uses two layers of urethane with a layer of interwoven fiber between them to add strength and stability and reduce cone distortion.

Dual Voice Coils: For increased system flexibility, the woofer has two 2Ω voice coils. The two sets of spring compression binding post terminals are side-by-side for easy wiring. Each post will accept a pin connector, a single banana plug, or bare wire up to 10 gauge. The speaker is shipped with two of the terminals shorted together and covered (wired in series) to present a 4Ω load. Remove the shorting wire and connect the terminals in parallel to present a 1Ω load. Additionally, each coil can be connected to a different amplifier channel and each channel will see a 2Ω load.

Dual Mass Magnet: The TS-W1208D2 uses a Dual Mass Magnet assembly (weighing in at 83oz.) to create a powerful magnetic force. This increases the control exerted over the voice coil and the power transferred to the cone.

Sealed Box Volume: The sealed box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 0.85 ft³ to 1.75 ft³; within this range the ideal size is 1.25 ft³.

Vented Box Volume: The vented box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 1.25 ft³ to 2.05 ft³; within this range the ideal size is 1.65 ft³. The ideal port size for a 1.65 ft³ enclosure is 3" diameter x 6" long.

Single Reflex Bandpass Volume: The bandpass box sizes recommended by Pioneer range from 0.7 ft³ per chamber to 1.1 ft³ per chamber; within this range the ideal size is 0.9 ft³ per chamber. One 3" diameter x 3.5" long port should be used in an enclosure with 0.9 ft³ chambers.

Power Handling: The woofer has two 2Ω voice coils; each coil can handle up to 200 watts RMS (400 watts total).

Warranty Note

Warranty Note: The included warranty card indicates a 1 year parts and labor warranty for Premier brand loudspeakers.
