The best sound in radio

HD Radio

If you're a local radio fan, check out the Pioneer DEH-X5700HD CD receiver with its built-in HD Radio™ tuner. Stations that broadcast HD Radio programming offer the best sound you'll hear coming over the airwaves — FM that rivals CDs, and AM that's clear and static-free. And with thousands of stations broadcasting in HD Radio, you'll likely find participating stations in your area. This receiver also boasts the Emergency Alerts feature, offering more advanced messaging than regular radio during disasters and emergencies such as severe storms.

Pioneer DEH-X5700HD

A built-in HD Radio tuner lets you enjoy the best sound quality in radio.

More to enjoy

The front-panel USB input allows you to connect your iPod® or iPhone®, then access your playlists with the Pioneer's controls. When your iPhone's connected, you'll also enjoy control over your favorite Pandora® stations from the receiver. You can use the USB input to tap into the music files stored on many Android devices, while the front aux input handles just about any other audio source. CD fans, you'll enjoy superb playback of your store-bought and home-burned discs.

Customizable colors

This CD receiver puts you in charge of the color wheel with a multi-color, dual-zone display. You can choose one color for the display and another for the buttons, so you'll find thousands of possible combinations. Pioneer's MIXTRAX syncs the audio from many of your sources, adding transitions between songs along with a light show that pulses and changes color with the beat of the music, so you can ramp up the show in your dash when you're in the mood.

Find your perfect soundscape

The built-in 5-band EQ combines with Pioneer's potent MOSFET amplifier to provide a big boost in sound quality over your factory radio. If you're putting together an audio system in your car, two pairs of preamp outputs make it easier to add external amplifiers or a powered sub.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car.

Very nice unit, love the custom color settings, the audio quality is rather good have a monster gaming rig that is better but then again dropped way to much into it so no surprise

Pros: Audio quality, color customization, clean steady aux port on front, easy to release power connector

Cons: Ease if use a bit to easy to get lost in the menu's and the annoucing of the "MENU" lil flash animation is a bit of a throw off. Redundant display settings lil being able to show clock and audio source twice.

This radio was worth every penny. I replaced my original '99 ford ranger stereo with the Pioneer DEH-X5700HD and wouldn't ever go back!

Pros: Great sound quality, plenty of personalization, easy installation!

Cons: HD radio goes in and out depending on signal, and display is hard to see in direct sunlight. Barely anything to complain about.

A nice addition to my old Silverado. I used it to replace a factory CD Player and this was actually an upgrade! The system sounds fine and with the installation kit, it was an easy install. I soldered and heat shrunk all the wiring connections, wrapped the chime replacement in soft foam, and taped everything neatly together. Actual installation was less than 10 minutes, and most of that was loosening and tightening the screws. The accessory bezel unit fit nice and made a professional looking job, tight and secure.

Pros: Excellent sound, easy to install, great installation kit from Crutchfield.

Cons: Display is hard to see in sunlight. Only negative feature at all!

I chose this radio to replace the stock "cassette stereo" Toyota radio in my Corolla. I specifically picked the Pioneer brand because they have the best radio tuners - "Supertuner" - and I wasn't disappointed. I always buy Pioneer. It's especially important to have a powerful tuner for the harder-to-receive HD channels. Also, many vehicles have short or hidden antennas that don't pick up as well as a full size 31" whip mounted in the clear on the vehicle. This puts more demand on the radio tuner, and Pioneer delivers. This unit has an easier to use button arrangement than an earlier Pioneer car stereo I have. All the other features work well too. Features are highly configurable if desired, and the menu is not too hard to use. A great package for the price. In fact I'm buying a second one for another car, now that I see how well it works. I'll put here and in the "Cons" that the only negative (as mentioned in many reviews) is that the dial is hard to read in the daytime. Dunno why they made it so dim even at full brightness setting. Along that line, I could also live without the DJ bling illumination feature, but you can simply turn it off if you don't like it.

Pros: High performance radio section. Picks up FM-AM and HD stations very well. Advanced tuner design. Nicely functional button layout.

Cons: Dial very hard to read in sunlight. This is a drawback, but considering how well the device works overall, I'm overlooking this problem The device would be "perfect" if it didn't have this issue.

Sounds great. Looks great. Nice Mix function with visual and sound effects when using the USB port. Reminds me of my younger years when we would ride around just enjoying the music. Had some trouble with the install: For 20+ years I've been delighted with Crutchfield technical support and customer service. But (re)installed this unit 3 times 'till I learned the location of the on-off switch, even with a call for support after the first install.

Pros: Sound. Value. Default settings sound good as-is. Supports factory powered sub-woofer.

Cons: Large dial is not the on-off switch, only volume.

This was a very simple install in my Subaru. The controls are simple to understand and use. The sound is excellent. It easily beats the previous unit that was in my car.

Pros: Great value, easy to install , easy to use, USB inputs and HD radio

Cons: The wires coming from the unit were 20 gauge. It just made it a little difficult to handle and solder my connections, and the screen is hard to see in daylight conditions

I chose this receiver because it had HD radio and USB input. This replaced the stock radio from a 2004 Jeep Liberty where the CD player would not eject. I got exactly what I wanted for a decent price. The radio looks and sounds great.

Cons: As many have said, the display is very hard to see in direct sunlight. That is really the only negative I can see or hear with this receiver.

Second stereo purchased from Crutchfield. EXCELLENT customer service! Easy to contact fast to respond. Replaced Pioneer with a failed JVC after only a few years. Face plate stopped responding to any touch. Owned various Pioneer products but first car receiver. Having installed a previous car stereo purchased from Crutchfield this installation was much easier and quicker. Wire harnesses and dash kits make install a breeze once you get started. Nice stereo and good location of buttons on the face plate.

Pros: Nice price lots of features. Blue tooth not that important to me as HD radio.

Cons: Display VERY difficult to see in bright light. Almost impossible at times to see. Choosing to set the colors to rotate helps but has to cycle through to one easier to see. Tracks in a folder are in order of preference but NOT folders themselves. Disappointing since you can't (when using a USB device) arrange you music by folders. Plays them at random. I chose JVC over Pioneer last time for this feature. The JVC let me down in quality. System failed after a few years so I tried Pioneer.

    Great value - great sound.

I switched out a stock stereo in my 2006 Sonata with this unit and what a huge difference in sound quality. I had been planning to switch out the stock speakers as well but the sound improvement form the head unit is so good I may not do that. It was easy to put in with the kit after I soldered the connections on the adapter and also after cursing and scraping my knuckles to get very uncooperative 2 screws out of the factory unit assembly. Previously I had a Sony HD radio CD unit in another vehicle with Infinity Reference speakers and this Pioneer works much better than the Sony; which had issues with the HD radio switchover to analog FM and also had issues with Aux and USB storage devices ie lots of long pauses and complicated menu's to navigate.

Pros: Great value. Excellent sound quality for all inputs. Plug and play USB and Aux connections. **One not about the USB it will play in the order you added the songs.** Easy to use controls to set Illumination and HD radio preferences. I haven't fooled with the Mixtraxx thing yet.

Cons: I have noticed a mechanical whirring noise with the CD player and the USB player but only when listening to the unit with the car engine off. Otherwise there is too much background nose while driving to notice the sound. In bright sunlight its hard to read the display no matter what color or brightness setting.

For the price point, an excellent product. I do NOT like the sound experience of Satellite Radio; to my ear, there are clipped sounds that detract from the recording. Plus, I have noticed that the stations I often listen to are repeating content at the times I listen. For this reason, I enjoy the HD radio selections I have experienced. I can listen to a HD radio broadcast, and play the CD I have of the song, and notice no sound degradation. This is NOT SO with satellite. With this in mind, I do have to say that the limitations of this deck I have experienced are only due to the limitations of the system itself. The antenna impeding reception, the old speakers, the 26 year old wiring, the power supply to the deck, all in my 26 year old vehicle are the limitations. Even with these restrictions, I IMMEDIATELY noticed a difference in the sound. This is not my first experience with installing this product, with HD radio, into a vehicle. I have installed one in a 2001 Jeep and upgrading all the limitations aforementioned with replacement wiring, indexed Infinity speakers all around, upgraded power supply directly to the head unit, bridged dual voice coil sub in the console, etc. the NON-AMPLIFIED sound in my open top Jeep Wrangler was phenomenal. It was always commented on with passengers and until I bought a new VW with the upgraded sound system, was never eclipsed my vehicles. The only negative was the installation instructions were incorrect with details

Pros: Excellent upgrade to older vehicles' systems that do not have the modern amenities available.

Cons: Shows the hardware flaws in older cars and MAY necessitate component and wiring upgrade to get the full benefit.

I needed to replace the factory radio and was told this one was fairly basic. It installed easily and looks almost factory but ease of use is not it's strong suit. I finally got the changing light colors turned off but still can't find out how to get the side bar lights off, they are unnecessary. The clock display doesn't return to full size in a few seconds after changing volume or station, it stays very small and hard to read. To find out the time I have to turn the radio off. You're not going to adjust the controls while driving if you want to change balance or fade. Sound is very good even without an amp.

Pros: Easy install when the kit was ordered.

Cons: More complicated than a radio needs to be and not safe to try to adjust more than volume or stations while moving.

I like this car radio overall. It has very nice sound quality. That said, I also had (some years ago) replaced the factory speakers with JBLs. There are a lot of menus to scroll through to set it up, though once you learn it, it's logical. I take it that most of the Pioneer line are similar. The HD radio sound quality is also pretty good, and that's why I bought it.

Pros: 1) Great sound quality 2) Remote control that also has a mute button. 3) Easy to use after you set it up.

Cons: 1) Not as loud as my factory Ford radio (may be due to 4 ohm speakers?). 2) Menus can be a little complicated until you get used to it - many menus to get it set up. 3) Display can be hard to read in bright sunlight - minor complaint.

Overall, this is a great radio for the price. The sound quality is good, and the internal amp is sufficient for most needs. I have been happy with the radio reception. The USB playback is nice, but it has a caveat. USB playback order follows the time stamp of the files on the FAT USB device, rather than by file name or ID3 tag. For the less initiated, this means that files on a USB drive may play back in a seemingly random order. If the files are copied and pasted in sequential order to the USB drive, this is not an issue, but if a group of folders is pasted, the files will not necessarily be written to the drive in the order that you would expect. The solution to this issue is to use a utility like FATsort. This is not a defect of the radio, but a limitation of whatever chipset/device it uses to perform USB file playback. However, this quirk can be frustrating if the user is not aware of the cause of this behavior. This radio has a nice clean look that isn't overly flashy. I would like the illumination to be a bit less bright, though. It has useful tone controls. It has the usual presets, along with two custom graphic EQ settings. Both EQ settings have the same controls, but one is global for all sources, and the other is per source. The build quality and feel is as good as it can be for a radio of this price. I feel its better than some Kenwood radios I have seen of late. I am pleased with my purchase.

Pros: Sound quality. Straightforward controls. USB playback (with caveats). Attractive appearance. Reasonable price. Useful tone controls for a radio in this price range. Good value.

Cons: USB playback order. Illumination is brighter than I'd like. Front, rear, and subwoofer outputs would be nice, but this is an inexpensive radio.

Picked up this unit for my 99 Silverado manly because the stock one didn't have a CD player and well it was stock. Puts out good sound, navigating threw the functions is pretty simple and it picks up the USB pretty quick. Doesn't like the S7 but not a big deal I just have a 16 Gb thumb drive stuck in her, and plays with no problem. It is a bit hard to see the display when it's bright out side, but you not staring at you radio while your driving anyway. The wiring adapter and the install kit to fill the giant hole in the dash were spot on, went in without a hitch. Would probably give it a 5 star but only had for a short time.

I thought HD radio would be cool, but I find it annoying. The sound quality is better than analog FM but it doesn't stay tuned-in. It switches back and forth between digital and analog, sounding like a cd skipping. This happens very frequently due to the hilly terrain in my area. The rest of the unit works great, with good sound quality and reasonable power. If I was to do it again, I would get a Pioneer mechless receiver.

Pros: Sound quality, power, easy to use, decent remote, plays those round discs. Will navigate a usb flash drive quickly and easily using folders to contain each album. "Random" plays tracks from the entire drive.

Cons: Radio switching between digital and analog is annoying. Won't play flac files.

This replaced my stock radio and the sound is definitely better. I live out in the sticks so while driving down the road the HD signal will come and go but it is not too extreme. Now I need to replace my speakers. This is my first time using Crutchfield. And my first time installing my own radio. It was very easy. Crutchfield sent me everything I needed. I am very Happy with my purchase. It only took two days for delivery. I plan to use them for my new speakers. As soon as I get the money.

    Pros: Better sound. Easy install.

Cons: A few of the colors are hard to see in the daylight.

It's a great stereo, and it fits the truck well. I really appreciated that I could look up if it fit my truck. I think the sound quality is great. It was easy to install myself, and I could get the dash kit from the same place I got the stereo.

Pros: Great sound quality. It's a good looking stereo. The display is bright, and adjusts with outside lighting (if you set it that way).

Cons: Using the remote takes some time to get used to, its' directional controls are a little confusing at first. It's easy to click the volume knob in and get to the menu accidentally when changing the volume.

Excellent value and performance. The "coolness factor" is not (to me, anyway) an attribute I use when evaluating anything. Ease of use is fine once one becomes familiar with where to find the adjustment in the multiple menus. Build quality is a long term item, and so far so good.

Pros: Multi color dimmable display is huge. I do a lot of nighttime driving, so keeping the interior lighting at a minimum is a must.

    Cons: Nothing so far.

Everything works fine. Default display and face illumination brightness can seem overly bright in certain lighting situations, but can be adjusted down if you want to. General operation and sound quality is fine, especially considering the price of the unit. The display is easy to see and read, but the smaller portion of the display on the lower left (shown with the signal strength option turned on in the above picture) could be used better. All available options for this area are of marginal usefulness at best. I would much rather see this spot used to display the selected preset number, radio frequency you are tuned to, track number, etc, while you can use the main portion of the display to show the artist/track information.

Pros: Price, sound quality, multiple display colors to choose from, HD Radio, easy access to USB and aux ports.

Cons: Pioneer does not seem to offer a lower end unit with the option of HD radio and bluetooth, forcing you to choose one or the other. Smaller portion of display could be better utilized.

Good radio for the price. It has a few oddities about it, like not sensing the dimmer on my Chevy Colorado, but otherwise it does everything I wanted it to. I can stream I Heart Radio or Google Music thru the aux jack, and no longer have to worry about the CD that the truck's previous owner got jammed in the factory radio. I don't know if I'm ever going to use some of the features, like playing off a USB stick or Mixtrax, though.

I purchased this unit for my wife's new 96 T Bird. I have a long standing history with Pioneer Stereo Products. I work in the mining industry and the Pioneer brand seem to be the only units that will handle the abuse of heavy mining equipment. Installed in over 40 pieces of heavy equipment and only 1 failure in over 10 years makes me look to Pioneer for all my personal vehicles. This is a great unit that is easy to use and sounds great too. Combined it with the Rockford Fosgate Prime R152-S speakers in the front and the Rockford Fosgate Prime R168X2 speakers in the rear. What a great sound. It works well with my ipod and her phone. The aux port is nice for connecting my portable sat receiver. I am sure she is in for many happy hours of tunes from this great receiver. Happy wife, happy life. :)

Pros: Great look and feel. Easy to setup. Great FM, HDFM and AM signal pulling power. (Receives in fringe areas where most won't) Great sounding HDFM with plenty of volume power. Easy to add amps and subs if so desired. My wife likes the fact you can set the display colors to match the car interior colors. Love this unit.

Cons: It does pick up glare on the display window in bright daylight. Maybe needs a con-caved or matte type finish to eliminate the glare issue.

The standard features that come with the radio is great from the HD Radio down to the customizable lights. I'm in love with the Digital stations there is SOOO much to choose from that in need more presets. I love the pandora-to-pioneer connectivity that is one of a kind and iphone option as well. Just a WELL built head unit with a great price. The only thing that would make this Head Unit completely Perfect if there was bluetooth connection But, I guess thats why there are other pioneer radios with that feature at different price tags.

Thanks to Crutchfield for your great service!!!

Pros: ~ Price ~ Features ~ Technology ~ Build Quality

Cons: NO CONS thus far LOVE this radio. <<< SIDE NOTE >>>> FOR PIONEER: It would be a good idea for you to look into making the display screen on this head unit and/or others matte that would help much with glare that comes in during the day as a result the screen is very hard to see and it truly sucks BUT don't misunderstand this is a great product and I enjoy every bit of it. This is just a word to the wise. Thanks

The receiver sounds great! This area is saturated with FM stations, but only a few broadcast in HD. The classical music station with HD sounds outstanding. The classic rock station with HD really rocks. I am a bit overwhelmed with all the features. It took me a while to get it set up. But the installation in my 95 F150 was easy. I have installed lots of radios, so I knew what to look out for. Everything plugged in using the wiring harness. All the instructions were easy to follow. The big surprise was I ordered it one afternoon and it arrived the next morning. That is great service!

Pros: Love the sound. The front panel is very attractive. The installation was easy. I didn't get an external amp or subwoofer, but the sound is very crisp and has plenty of bass for me. Overall, it was very easy to install.

Cons: There are so many features it is almost overwhelming. I am still trying to figure it all out, but I mainly wanted an HD receiver and CD player, so it meets my needs.

I gave ease of use 4 stars only because I am 49 and some of the stuff is hard to see, and not everything is intuitive for me since I haven't bought an aftermarket head unit in 30 years. But man--I can't believe everything this can do! I have a flash drive sticking out of the USB port with a few GB of music on it. I haven't worked out with my phone yet how to connect that--but that'll come. My favorite radio station is all of the hidden HD stations. I love the color changing. Sometimes it's hard to see when the sun is shining on it, however. What's with the MIX function, and why would someone want that? Whatev...

Auxiliary Input: The DEH-X5700HD is equipped with a front-panel 3.5mm stereo minijack auxiliary input for connecting external components, such as a portable MP3 player.

    HD + Pandora Radio

HD Radio: The Pioneer DEH-X5700HD's built-in HD Radio tuner lets you listen to the radio with the same fidelity as your digital music. HD Radio features high quality audio, FM multi-casting, and data services. With HD Radio, your FM stations offer near CD-quality sound, AM stations provide FM-like sound, and there is crystal-clear reception with no audio distortion. Best of all, HD Radio is 100% subscription free. The unit's tuner also supports analog AM/FM broadcasts.

    • Multicasting: In addition to conventional broadcasts, with HD Radio broadcasting it is possible to choose from up to 3 multicast programs (HD1 to HD3, and analog). There are also data programs for each program.
    • Station Text + RDS: AM/FM digital stations can offer text and data such as artist names and song titles. For analog FM stations, the Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as song/artist information when listening to compatible RDS FM stations.
    • Supertuner IIID: The Supertuner IIID features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.
    • Reception Blending: If a digital broadcast reception condition gets poor, this unit automatically switches to the analog broadcast of the same frequency level. If this function is set to "On", the tuner switches between digital broadcast and analog broadcast automatically. If this function is 'Off', reception will be conducted within an analog broadcast.
    • BSM (Best Stations Memory): The BSM (Best Stations Memory) function lets you automatically store the six strongest analog or HD stations under preset buttons 1-6 of the currently tuned band. The tuner has 3 FM banks and 1 AM bank. You can store 6 presets for each bank giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 6 AM presets.
    • Local Tuning: Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for good reception. There are 4 level of sensitivity for FM and two levels for AM. The higher settings allow reception of only the strongest stations, while lower settings let you receive progressively weaker stations.
    • Emergency Alerts: Emergency Alerts work in conjunction with the Federal Emergency Alert Services to provide more advanced messaging during emergencies or disasters. Providing relevant local content, particularly in times of severe weather or other natural emergencies make HD Radio's Emergency Alerts feature an invaluable resource.

Note: HD Radio is the system for digital AM and FM broadcasting in the U.S. More than 2,000 radio stations are broadcasting their primary signals in digital HD Radio technology, as a free service. Go to www.hdradio.com to check for HD Radio stations in your area.

Pandora App: The free Pandora App lets you play music from the Pandora music service through the Pioneer DEH-X5700HD using your connected Apple iPhone, via the Pioneer iPod connector cable (sold separately) or the connector cable that came with your iPhone. To access Pandora you must have an Apple iPhone (iOS 5.0+) with the latest version of the Pandora Radio application from Apple's iTunes App Store. Your iPhone will need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or WiFi. You will also need a Pandora music service account. The Pioneer DEH-X5700HD will provide control over the Pandora music service and display Artist/Album/Song information.

    • Station List: You can select Pandora stations from your Station List by date or alphabetically (A-Z).
    • Shuffle Station List: You can listen to songs played randomly from various stations within your Station List.
    • New Stations + Delete: New stations can be created based on the current songs or artists playing. You can also delete a station from your Pandora station list.
    • Skip Songs: You can skip song tracks within a station. You cannot skip back to a previous song. Pandora limits the number of skips allowed.
    • Thumbs Up/Down: You can give songs a thumbs up or thumbs down to help Pandora personalize stations to suit your preferences.
    • Bookmarking: The song/artist currently being played can be bookmarked & stored in your Pandora account.

Note: Access to the Pandora service will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet. Pandora is not supported in Canada & only available in the United States.

    Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The Pioneer in-dash head unit utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The DEH-X5700HD is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power specifications for the DEH-X5700HD are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers.

    • CEA2006 Specs: 14 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Continuous Power Output: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 50Hz-15kHz, 5% THD)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels
Note: The rear speaker outputs can be set to provide full range output with full fading capability, or they can be set to provide non-fading subwoofer (low-pass) output. When the rear speaker outputs are set to subwoofer mode, the rear preamp outputs also switch from full range to subwoofer outputs. When set for subwoofer operation, you can connect the rear speaker leads directly to two small 4-ohm passive subwoofers or a dual voice coil sub with 4-ohm voice coils. If you prefer to use a single 2-ohm subwoofer, you can connect the woofer to one set of speaker leads, leaving the other set of rear leads disconnected. The maximum output provided when a 2-ohm load is connected to one set of leads is 70 watts.

4ch/2V Preouts: The Pioneer DEH-X5700HD features two pair of 2.0-volt preouts. The unit's Rear/SW preouts can be configured as fading rear-channel outputs or a non-fading subwoofer outputs. When the head unit's RW/SW preouts are configured as a subwoofer output, you can select the frequency of the low pass filter (50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, or 125 Hz), select the filter slope (-6/-12dB), select the subwoofer phase (normal/reverse), and the subwoofer gain (+6 to -24).

Equalizer: The Pioneer DEH-X5700HD features a Preset & Custom EQ. The built-in equalizer offers 7 preset sound modes (Powerful, Dynamic, Vocal, Natural, Custom 1, Custom 2, and Flat) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The two Custom modes allow you to manually adjust the head unit's 5-band EQ (80Hz, 250Hz, 800Hz, 2.5kHz, 8kHz) from +/-6dB. Custom 1 can be set separately for each source (except for USB/iPod/Pandora); while Custom 2 and the other 5 presets are shared settings used for all sources.

High-Pass Crossover: When you don't want low-frequency sound to be heard through your front or rear speakers, you can simply active the head unit's HPF (high pass filter). By activating the HPF, only frequencies higher than those in the selected range are output from the front or rear speakers. The high pass filter crossover can be set to 50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 125Hz, 160hz, 200Hz or Off. The slope level of the HPF can also be adjusted to -6dB or 12dB.

Advanced Sound Retriever: The Advanced Sound Retriever automatically enhances compressed audio and restores the original richness of the recording. Hear the detail, warmth, and clarity, the way the artist intended it, from all of your highly compressed MP3 and WMA files stored on your USB device, iPod/iPhone, and portable media players. By restoring data (especially higher frequencies) that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever technology enhances audio reproduction nearly all the way up to 20 kHz frequencies

Audio Level Settings: The Pioneer DEH-X5700HD CD receiver offers a variety of audio settings to tailor the bass, treble, and volume level to your preference.

    • Bass Boost The DEH-X5700HD features a bass boost function which can be used to enhance low-frequency bass sound. The bass boost function can be set between 0-6.
    • Loudness: The Loudness feature compensates for deficiencies in the low and high sound ranges at low volume. You can set the Loudness feature to Low, Mid, High, or Off.
    • Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust the volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume when switching between sources. Settings are based on the volume level of the FM tuner, which remains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from -4dB to +4dB.

MIXTRAX: Drawing from Pioneer's rich DJ heritage and passion for music, MIXTRAX delivers a unique DJ infused listening experience to listeners in the car. MIXTRAX is an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a non-stop mix of your music library complete with a range of DJ-inspired effects. MIXTRAX takes your typical music listening experience and creates a non-stop mix of your music with 9 random DJ effects and transitions, by removing the breaks and pauses normally introduced between tracks and replacing them with various beats. MIXTRAX is compatible with USB-connected iPhone, iPod, USB MSC device, and select Android devices. There is also a Short Playback option which limits the amount of time each track plays; select from 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, or 3 minutes.

Note: The MIXTRAX function does not work in App mode or with the Pandora App for iPod/iPhone, and is not supported by USB MTP devices. The Advanced Sound Retriever function is disabled when MIXTRAX is activated.

    Display Features

Detachable Face Security: The Pioneer DEH-X5700HD in-dash CD receiver features detachable face security. No face case is included with this unit. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can be purchased for this unit. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired.

Color Customization: Color Customization lets the user match their receiver illumination to their vehicle's interior lighting. Over 210,000 colors are available to match the illumination of almost any car. The button illumination and display illumination colors can be customized separately for an endless number of color combinations. You can select from 5 preset colors (White/Red/Amber/Green/Blue), customize an illumination color (by adjusting Red/Blue/Green brightness levels), or scan through a variety of colors.

Brightness Control: You can manually adjust the brightness (1-10) of the head unit's display to suit your viewing needs. You can also sync the receiver's illumination to the head units' clock or your vehicle's headlights. To dim the receiver's display automatically when the vehicle's headlights are turned on, you'll need to hardwire the orange/white wire of the head unit's harness to your vehicle's parking light circuit.

MIXTRAX Illumination: MIXTRAX features a club-style illumination that enhances the mood with a dynamic dance club-like lighting effect. As MIXTRAX begins, lights start pulsing to the beat of the music, adding an extra level of entertainment. You can choose among twelve patterns of lighting variations from sound pressure level or low-pass synchronization modes. The lighting effects work like a spectrum analyzer, reaching peak colors based on the intensity of the music. You can also choose which area's of the head unit's face illuminates; select Display, Display/Buttons, or Off.

Clock Display: When the Clock Display has been turned on, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns off audio output, but the clock display and button illumination remains on (you can press the "DISP" button to turn off). When the Clock Display has been turned off, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns the unit off completely. Even if you have turned the radio completely off you can view the clock display by pressing the "DISP" button. The clock will then remain On until you turn it back Off. When the unit is On, you can choose to have the clock display during playback of each source.

Demo Mode: This unit features a Demo mode which can be turned On/Off within the menu.

    Remote Control

Wireless Remote Control: The DEH-X5700HD comes with an IR wireless remote control. The remote allows you to control the volume, switch between sources, pause playback, skip music tracks, change display info, and adjust audio settings. You can also mute the volume (function that cannot be performed from the front panel).

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Customer Q&A

    3 questions already asked

In the United States, frequency-modulated (FM) broadcasting stations operate in a frequency band extending from 87.8 MHz to 108.0 MHz and most radios today won't tune anything lower than 88 Mhz since the frequencies from 87.8 MHz and 88 MHz are so rarely used. So unfortunately there wouldn't be any way for this Pioneer to tune into FM 87.7. [ Larry  Oct 21, 2015 ]  Staff
