Pioneer DEH-X6700BT

The versatile DEH-X6700BT offers built-in Bluetooth.

Siri Eyes Free, too

If you have a newer iPhone®, this CD receiver supports Siri Eyes Free, which means you can ask Siri to make calls, select and play music, compose and hear text messages, read notifications, even use maps and get directions — all through vocal commands. It's not only convenient, it can make your drive safer and more productive.

Plenty of media options

Once your iPhone's connected to the front-panel USB input, you'll be able to access your playlists with the Pioneer's controls. You'll also enjoy control over your favorite Pandora® stations on your Android phone or iPhone from this receiver. You can use the USB input to tap into the music files stored on many Android devices, while the front aux input handles just about any other audio source.

Turn on the color

The DEH-X6700BT CD receiver spans the color spectrum with a multi-color display that lets you choose from thousands of colors for the display and controls — you can even choose different colors for each. MIXTRAX adds to the fun by adding transitions between songs along with a light show that pulses and changes color with the beat of the music.

Tailor the sound

With Pioneer's potent MOSFET amplifier and 5-band EQ at your disposal, you can be sure you'll hear a big jump in sound quality over your old radio. Two pairs of preamp outputs make it easier to add external amplifiers or a powered sub.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

I was looking for a way to upgrade the sound system in my 1998 GMC Savana conversion van. I needed iPod/iPhone connectivity, and this radio offered that. FM stations are hard to receive in the area where I live, but this radio had much better reception than the one that came with the van; 17 years should make a difference. For the price, I couldn't have asked for more. Very happy with it.

    Pros:

Cons: It's a 2014 model, and it is no longer available on the Crutchfield site.

I would have given a five if it were as easy to use as the quality Japanese car stereos I grew up to many years ago. Granted, the cost of those units were 5 times what this Chinese Pioneer cost and sounded far better also. The omission of a simple Bass or Treble control and double-function buttons that only a teenager can see the markings on brought it down to four stars. Otherwise, for the pittance it cost for the values and features, I would give it a five. And all the features work well.

Pros: Easy install (took about ten minutes in my 1997 E36 M3. Sounds better than the stock BMW Alpine. Bluetooth works perfectly.

Cons: Very dim display even at full brightness, no simple bass or treble controls (equalizer while I'm driving? Yeah, right), double-function buttons with unreadable characters, requires memorization of each buttons features. Sound quality better than average, but not great.

This is the 6th Pioneer Bluetooth receiver I've installed into various of our family's cars. Like the others, it's a well-made, feature-filled unit that's very affordable and easy to install. The phone functions work flawlessly with our iphones and the ability to stream music via Bluetooth is very convenient. The Siri integration on these newer units is particularly well done. As always, Crutchfield's website automatically adds the needed installation accessories and and an instruction guide to your order and these parts kits are always complete. The instructions make installation simple.

Pros: Excellent price, unbeatable value. Great iphone/bluetooth support for handsfree calls, music streaming and Siri Solid AM reception

Cons: Display is hard to read in direct sunlight. Even dimmed, button and bezel illumination is still too bright for my liking at night.

Purchased this Pioneer unit to replace factory unit in a 1998 Lumina, along with 4 new Kickers. Needless to say it is a huge improvement, especially at the higher volume levels. I am not a real picky audiophile, but I did want a substantial upgrade over stock and this Pioneer unit delivers that for me. The Bluetooth works great and the illumination colors earn it major "cool points". Most importantly, the instructions and wiring harnesses that were included made the job fairly painless. Removing a dash panel (yes in a 98 Lumina you have to tear down the entire dash to get to the head unit) can be a huge mess if you don't know where every bolt, screw, and clip are situated, so the instructions alone made it worth the effort to buy from Crutchfield.

Pros: Great sound, fine tuning options, cool factor, easy install.

    Cons: None.

After the factory CD player refused to give back my CD, I checked Crutchfield for a replacement. The Pioneer DEH-X6700BT came up as a popular unit, and being a Pioneer fan from way back, I ordered this one. My advisor answered my questions about the features and installation, and I had the unit in just a few days. It's a vast improvement in sound and function for a very reasonable price. The hands-free phone feature is better than any headset or visor unit we've tried in the car. It's a great purchase and we couldn't be happier.

Pros: Sound quality and functionality. Easy to install.

    Cons: None

After a recommendation from the Crutchfield team and other reviewers I couldn't be more pleased with DEH-6700BT. Installation was simple and directions were very clear and straightforward. Some loose wire connections to make but I'm ok with that. Sound quality is on par with the factory stereo and does justice to the the Infinity system in the vehicle. Bluetooth connections are quick and easy. There is one complaint an that involves the phone/mic portion. Sending and receiving calls is so easy and the person on the other end can hear my voice clearly and with plenty of headroom. Listening to the other phone party through the Pioneer though sounds very compressed and tinny. Other than that this is a very solid and great sounding stereo for the money.

Pros: Sound Quality Build Quality BT, USB, SD card, and Aux inputs on the front Phone Feature

Cons: Listening to phone conversation in the vehicle sounds tinny

This was fun to install. Did it with my son and we had a great time. We learned that Crutchfield knows all as we made 3 phone calls before we got it all done. They were so nice, helpful, and even did some extra research was done to help us try to install the hands free microphone in a different spot. I got the research in the email! Crutchfield is the model for customer service. All other companies should follow their example. The receiver is fabulous. It adds some pop to the interior of the car. It sounds so much better to me than the factory JBL unit that it replaced. Much to be said for newer technology and a great Pioneer product! The sound is rich deep and clear. I am afraid to change it because I might not get the great sound back. So nice to be able to plug right in with the music source and hear it through the unit. Works well with the iPhone and is easy to use. Like the hands free phone ability. Before we had a cumbersome unit which worked but was a pain frankly. Buy this unit and you won't regret it. Sound is vastly improved, easy to use for even a nearly 60 year old man and woman. I want another right now for her car. Of course mine was first. I will buy from Crutchfield again and it will be a Pioneer again!

Pros: So many pros that they are hard to mention. It is a bargain which is a great improvement over the old one.

Cons: Sure would like to see the display during the daytime.

Installed this in my 2007 Toyota Tacoma with the factory JBL speakers. My first stereo install and I would say it went well and was fairly easy. The bass control is great. Mids and highs seemed to get drowned out a little bit but I plan on upgrading my speakers eventually so that should change. Overall I am extremely satisfied with my purchase!

First stereo we've ever installed, and we pulled it off (ok, with a little Crutchfield support)! We had just one hang-up, and they totally solved it for us in a short call. We haven't played with all the features fully yet, but the one we're most excited about is being able to play music directly from our iPhones via Bluetooth...before this, we were stuck with our factory CD player (and all our remaining CDs are from eons ago). It is sooo nice!

Pros: Looks great, easy install, easy to figure out

Cons: Not a huge fan of the preset station button design, but I got over it!

It was a good choice to replace my 12 year old tape and CD player. The installation package was excellent though the sound quality was a notch below the original.

Pros: Price is right. I like the USB capabilities. Lots of volume.

Cons: The sound isn't as good as I had hoped and the easy of changing between radio, aux was a little obtuse. Refining the usage was not obvious.

We have 2 work trucks, and employees need to call customers and the office often. We installed these radios in both trucks and the hands free quality is very good and they done have to fumble for their phones to make calls. Much safer and they can't forget their headset. It is always in the truck ready to go. Employees also like that they can stream their blue tooth music etc. Great radio for the price and easy to install.

Pros: Handsfree calling, blue tooth streaming.

Upgrade for me and my old stereo. CD player now does not skip. Many adjustments to unit. Sometimes sounds a little tinny or high pitched. Maybe because, I have not adjusted it right for my speakers yet. Lots of power, can go quite loud. Love the blue tooth phone, now much safer for me on the road and getting a call.

Installed Pioneer using provided Metra harness, soldering all connections properly. Let car sit for 2 nights. Battery died. Put factory radio back in, everything fine. Did swap test 4 times, same result. Tested all connections with a meter MANY times just to be sure. Spoke to tech support 4 times, they sent replacement unit. Same result. Had battery tested, checked out fine. Took car to an automotive shop I deal with to check battery again, still fine. Ran amp draw test, nothing abnormal. Finally found possible culprit. Car has a separate 9-pin connector that connects to factory unit, but doesn't connect to Pioneer. This connector contains a pink wire that powers factory amp. Per the instructions, I had connected Pioneer's remote amp turn-on wire to pink wire. Everything functioned as expected, EXCEPT... when power to stereo is turned off (even car off), there is a back-feed of .5 - 1 volt coming from pink wire. Even when I disconnected pink factory wire from Pioneer, voltage was there. But, when I re-install factory stereo & plug in 9-pin connector, voltage on pink wire stops! Apparently, that connector needs to be terminated, otherwise .5 - 1 volt is present, which I assume must be draining battery. Either that, or constant power for station memory is drawing too much power. Gave up and put factory unit back in. Got Pac Audio PXDX for an Aux In, which is why I bought the Pioneer to begin with. Crutchfield was great through the whole ordeal, which I appreciated.

A top notch product. Great bang for the buck. The deck has great sound and the Bluetooth for the phone is a great plus.

Pros: Bluetooth for the cell phone works flawlessly. Also the FM reception is very good. The buttons on the faceplate are very easy to manipulate.

Cons: A little difficult to read the manual and learn how to use the features of the system. Manual should be clearer in it's descriptions.

For the "must haves" on my list of requirements (bluetooth audio, bluetooth hands-free, Siri integration, CD), I couldn't be happier. The documentation leaves a bit to be desired; there are a number of menu options and features that don't seem to be described adequately. That said, most basic functionality is pretty self evident. Compared to the factory deck that was originally in the vehicle, the DEH-X6700BT is noticeably better sounding. All in all it seems to be a solid unit at a decent price.

Pros: Sounds amazing, Siri integration, solid bluetooth

Cons: Mediocre documentation, no microphone built into unit (ships with an external mic)

I'm an old guy, so the changing lights don't do a thing for me and using the stereo isn't intuitive for a guy who can hardly use an iphone, but the sound is great, the features are tremendous (I love the bluetooth), and Crutchfield is so helpful with their advice and add ons that I know it would have been an ordeal without their help.

    Pros: Price, quality, features.

Cons: Not what I would call easy to use. Steep learning curve for an old guy.

Easy to install and the features are great. If you don't need Satellite or HD Radio (almost everything on HD Radio uses iHeartRadio app anyway and you can use Bluetooth for this), this is the best bang for your buck.

Pros: Looks nice, sounds nice, Easy to install.

Cons: Seems that if I switch between iHeartRadio to Google Play Music (already Bluetooth connected) it doesn't recognize the switch until I fully quit the app, then start the music from Play Music.

I replaced my stock stereo finally. I always felt it was acceptable but I went ahead and decided to grab the Pioneer deck. I have never installed a car stereo myself but it all went easy and well with the information provided and suggested completer items from Crutchfield. When it started up I was wowed, how much better it did sound. It has been over a week and all is going well each time I learn another cool feature with this deck. I have paired the deck up with my iPhone and loving the features and phone compatibility all this and great sounding music which is what I really wanted. Thanks Crutchfield.

Purchased pioneer Deh-x6700BT with wire harness. The ease of installing the unit was a breeze, with harness makes an easy match to connect color coded wires together. Also iam 65yrs old not to limber or iPad or BT pairing savy . But by following the directions it paired the first time and work like stated it should. The sound is a amazing in my 92 Toyota 4x4. Thank you Crutchfield.

I HAVE ALWAYS HAD PIONEER RADIOS IN MY CAR AND THIS ONE IS NOT THE EXCEPTION, ONLY BETTER SINCE ALL THE GREAT FEATURES AND THE GOOD PERFORMANCE WHEN MAKING CALLS WITH THE BLUETOOTH SYNC TO MY CELL. SOUND QUALITY IS BETTER THAN THE FACTORY RADIO CAR CAME WITH.

Pros: BLUETOOTH CAPABLE, TO MAKE CALLS OR LISTEN TO MUSIC STREAM FROM YOUR PHONE TO THE RADIO VIA BLUETOOTH AND THE USB CABLE CONNECTION IS GREAT TO CHARGE CELL

Cons: I INSTALLED IT IN A NISSAN PATHFINDER 2006 AND ALMOST DIDN'T FIT CAUSE IS A BIT LONGER THAN THE FACTORY RADIO, SO THERE WASN'T MUCH ROOM ON THE RADIO HOLLOW OF THE CAR, BUT I WIGGLE IT A LITTLE AND FITTED PERFECTLY AND IS NOT LOOSE. Our 18 year old granddaughter decided she would upgrade the radio in her dad's 1994 Camaro while he is serving with the Air Force in the mideast. He is letting her use the car while he is gone. I told her I would give her the radio for her birthday present if she would assemble the wiring harness and install it by herself while I kept an eye on her work. We used Posi-Products Car Stereo Connectors and they worked fine. She got the radio into the Camaro with a minimum of fuss. The radio turned on with no problem. She is now learning to use it's features. This radio replaces a Blaupunkt Melbourne SD27 which didn't have Bluetooth and some other features she wanted. She also installed a Sony in her RAV 4. I think I may have made a new happy customer for Crutchfield.

Pros: Great price and lots of features. Sounds better than the Blaupunkt it replaced. Everything fit just fine. I consider the Bluetooth to be a safer way to use a cell phone while driving.

    Cons: None noted.

Radio has great Bluetooth connectivity with my LG G3 phone. The receiver pulls in stations strongly. Like the remote control and the AUX plug on the front. That is used to plug in my XM module. An inexpensive means to a satisfying end.

This was an easy install, especially with the Crutchfield recommended installation kit. Some tricky bits in the setup (shutting off demo mode only available the FIRST time you start it, for one). Bluetooth connection could be easier to set up, especially for my older iPod, but it works well.

Pros: Works well with a multitude of sources. Sounds good (better than my stock speakers can handle, actually).

Cons: Bluetooth connecting to my iPhone 5S makes it turn on "Show all music". Very annoying. I ended up disabling cellular data for music on my phone, so that it wouldn't burn up all my data transferring stuff that isn't on the phone. (This might be an IOS8 bug.)

The unit works fine...the sound is just a bit on the tinny side, but, it is also not the top model to play with...so I think it works great for the value.

Pros: Easy to install, the remote makes it so much easier to use without having to really lose focus on the road while driving.

Cons: The connection for the microphone is located in the back of the unit. This makes it a bit difficult to route the microphone so that it is easy to place in a convenient location. I found that the clip did not fit my visor, also would have placed the cable in a place that could be distracting. I ended up not connecting the microphone and used another product.

The chassis was 1/4" too long, so it would not work with Crutchfield's install kit for a Chevy Silverado. Bluetooth would not work with my phone. My Sonic's Bluetooth works flawlessly with same phone. I could not get it to recognize my Apple Shuffle; I bought it new from a discount retail store in 2013. Same Shuffle works flawlessly with my Sonic. Since I bought this unit for it's Bluetooth and iPod interface, it was worthless to me. The wiring diagram was not clear of all the wire assignments. I guessed that the colors should match Crutchfield's adaptor plug; I guessed correctly.

    Pros: Good sound. Looks good.

Cons: Unclear wiring diagram. it's Bluetooth interface does not work with my phone. iPod interface did not work with my Apple Shuffle. Unit does not seem to shutoff; I could only change the source or turn down the volume to quiet the unit.

Works as expected, install was pretty easy, even for an amateur such as myself (this was my first time installing a car stereo). I bought this to replace my factory stereo because I wanted Bluetooth. After pairing it initially. The Bluetooth links automatically to my iPhone 6plus each time I start up the car and starts playing whatever I was listening to before I left (music, pandora, audible, etc). Crutchfield is a bit more expensive than other places I could have bought but I went with Crutchfield because their customer service is amazing. 1st: I called and talked to a knowledgable advisor/salesperson who helped me find exactly what I wanted, 2nd: I called tech support two seperate times during install and probably botched the explanation but they knew exactly what I was asking and answered instantly, 3rd: my oem radio antenna did not fit into the stereo, Crutchfield was unaware of this based on their spec sheets but when I told them I had to buy an oem to Motorola adaptor (that was unfortunatly not long enough) from a local store, Crutchfield shipped out an extender cable for free. I just popped on the adaptor and extension cable and now my radio works too! Installation successful! Thank you much Crutchfield, I'll never shop elsewhere for products you carry as long as you keep up this excellent work.

    Pros: Bluetooth works perfectly

Cons: Menus are not as intuitive as what I've come to expect from electronics (thanks for spoiling everything Apple) I wish I could figure out how to make the decorative color illumination just turn off, I don't want 12 different colors to choose from, I just want it off.

Great unit for the price. Installation was easy in my '07 Jeep Jk with the installation kit from Crutchfield. Followed the provided instructions and the kit wiring harness was color-coded to match the unit and Jeep. Unit puts out good sound and has many features as you can see from the description on the site. I particularly like the iPhone interface enabling Siri by pushing and holding in the knob until the display says "I'm Listening." That makes the voice commands easy to use. I also have the Jeep Wrangler with the Infinity sound system; amp and subwoofer. Just wired as per the instructions and everything works great with the exception of losing fader control. Happy with the purchase.

This unit does everything I wanted for a ~$100 head - and more! The Bluetooth works great and the sound is as good as can be expected with the speakers I have. There are a lot of extra features in this unit that I will probably never use, but they don't detract from the overall experience.

I bought this stereo as a Father's Day present for my husband. It fit perfectly in his 2000 Chevy Silverado. Installation only took around 15 minutes and most of that was connecting the wire harness. The sound quality is excellent and the controls are very simple to figure out. It's quick and easy to switch between radio Cd MP3 or your phone. The colors make it look awesome and stand out, there are so many choices or just let it change. The feature I was most impressed with was the Bluetooth phone. The microphone is small and attaches discreetly on the steering column. Sitting in the truck driving down the road you can hear everything clear as day through the car speakers and the caller on the other end can hear everything clearly. There was no static or background noise (engine, exhaust, etc) and my husbands truck has a loud exhaust system. I was very impressed how clear the conversation was. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great stereo to do it all and make calls.

Pros: Clear Bluetooth communication Simple controls Great sound Great display Easy to install

    Cons: None

As I put in requirements for the features I wanted, like Bluetooth streaming from my iPhone, both front facing 1/8 jack and USB, and such, this receiver was always in the list and was 1/2 the cost of other receivers with the features I wanted most. It is a good unit for the price. I hope it is built to be a trouble free radio for a long time because all of the features seem to perform really well after the first couple weeks of use.

Pros: This receiver has a ton of features for the price. There are built in high/low filters with multiple frequency and slope adjustments for component systems. It has a 5 band EQ. Bluetooth works with Android and iPhone so I can switch brands and still use this unit. There are 3 ways to play from my iPhone including the USB interface which can play music while charging the phone so I don't have to have two cables plugged in at once for that feature.

Cons: One compromise was the 2V preamp outputs. This makes it a less perfect choice if you are planning to run a separate sub (I don't currently). 4V+ preamp outputs is better for that. It's a low power unit at only 14RMS. That isn't bad. It does get as loud as the factory radio, but it could have been a bit higher to make it more universal in case I ever get a little extra cash to start adding to my system. The display is a little hard to see in the brightest part of a sunny day. Most are though.

I saw this Pioneer was at top of the Crutchfield lists for best reviewed and best selling, so I chose it as an upgrade to the factory radio in the 2001 RAV4 I just bought for my daughter's first car. Not only is the sound and look a huge improvement, it allows her to play the music from her iphone wirelessly, and make and receive hands-free calls. She loves it and it's much safer. Factor in the big box store wanted and extra $100 ($30 for the wiring and mounting hardware + $70 for installation) plus tax, and it's a no-brainer to buy from the experts at Crutchfield.

This pioneer unit is an amazing value. Purchased to replace the factory unit in a 2006 Acura RSX after the CD unit failed. The clean lines and controls are a great fit for the Acura's (back then) clean and simple dash and the ability to match the display color to the dash backlight is a great plus. The unit sounds great with the stock speakers - just enough power. I'm not a fan of the DIN sleeve as the unit has more play than I'd like, but I managed to secure to the Acura radio frame for a better fit. Otherwise installation was straightforward. Oddly enough the owners manual doesn't specify the wire color for al of the wires, but its a 1:1 match to the Metra harness identified by Crutchfield - only needed a quick confirmation with a Google lookup. The BT features all work great.

Pros: Simple and clean controls Great combination of features for the price Customizable display and remote are a plus on an already great unit

Cons: Loose within the DIN sleeve - needs securing to the radio frame for a solid install
