Bluetooth® convenience

Once you drive with Bluetooth, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. Pioneer's DEH-X6700BT CD receiver allows you to answer a phone call with the push of a button, and then talk as if your caller is sitting next to you, freeing up your hands so you can concentrate on the drive. Plus, you don't have to plug in your phone to listen to music when you get in the car — you can stream music wirelessly from compatible devices to this receiver, plus control basic functions like "track up" or "track down."

Pioneer DEH-X6700BT

The versatile DEH-X6700BT offers built-in Bluetooth.

Siri Eyes Free, too

If you have a newer iPhone®, this CD receiver supports Siri Eyes Free, which means you can ask Siri to make calls, select and play music, compose and hear text messages, read notifications, even use maps and get directions — all through vocal commands. It's not only convenient, it can make your drive safer and more productive.

Plenty of media options

Once your iPhone's connected to the front-panel USB input, you'll be able to access your playlists with the Pioneer's controls. You'll also enjoy control over your favorite Pandora® stations on your Android phone or iPhone from this receiver. You can use the USB input to tap into the music files stored on many Android devices, while the front aux input handles just about any other audio source.

Turn on the color

The DEH-X6700BT CD receiver spans the color spectrum with a multi-color display that lets you choose from thousands of colors for the display and controls — you can even choose different colors for each. MIXTRAX adds to the fun by adding transitions between songs along with a light show that pulses and changes color with the beat of the music.

Tailor the sound

With Pioneer's potent MOSFET amplifier and 5-band EQ at your disposal, you can be sure you'll hear a big jump in sound quality over your old radio. Two pairs of preamp outputs make it easier to add external amplifiers or a powered sub.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

    Why replace your factory radio?

Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car.

I gave this receiver 5 stars across the board because after a week of use I'm convinced that it does everything I need and more, and it does it with style. First of all, I installed this in my 2002 Rav4 myself. It was the first receiver I've ever installed and it took about an hour and a half or two but knowing what I know now, it could be done in 30 mins. I primarily use it with my iPhone using the bluetooth connection and it's integration is simply awesome. Once your phone is linked to the receiver it will automatically link to your phone and start playing without you touching anything when you start your car (it seems to play from the most recent music app you've used). You can play/pause/next/last with buttons on the receiver and it shows the song title/info on the screen. It comes with a mic that I ran down through the dashboard and clipped under my steering wheel and so far there have been no complaints of wind or engine noise. The volume button doubles as a Siri activation so I can "Call Dad" or "Navigate to the nearest Target" without taking my eyes off the road (the Siri voice also comes out of your car speakers). Furthermore, the receiver has a bunch of different equalizer options and a built in amp so it improved the factory speakers that I did not replace. This brings about the only knock I really have on the receiver, the lack of an equalizer button on the faceplate. It would be nice to be able to change the EQ setting without having to go into the menus.

Pros: Bluetooth integration is seemless. Links to your phone and plays without you touching anything. Made my factory speakers better. Very customizable in terms of backlight colors.

Cons: Very few. Lack of EQ button; you have to enter the menus to change it.

Replaced my stock radio with this product. There are a lot of features to get used to, but they are worth it

    complex settings

Written By chris, Maine on Thursday, April 30, 2015

i'm still trying to set simple things like balance and fader, using menus that are so much more complicated than just turning a darn knob. I've tried to set up bluetooth in order to use my cellphone but so far can hear them but they can't hear me.

    Pros: easy installation

Cons: settings ridiculously complicated. absolutely not intuitive

So far I have had this in my vehicle for 2 weeks and it has worked very nicely. I love the bluetooth, it doesn't cut out, and the radio itself makes my stock speakers sound better than the stock radio did. I do plan on upgrading speakers and adding an amp, for now this radio is working very nicely. I highly suggest this to anyone needing a new one.

Installing it was very straightforward, the only hitch was the last three wires on the harness that didn't seem to have direct counterparts. After tying in the Pioneer harness with the adapter harness you will have 3 wires left over, Black, Blue and a red with a stripe ( I think, going from memory here a week later). The blue is marked for power antenna and I didn't originally connect it but on the bmw it turns on the amp, so without it you will have no sound. Connect the black to the black ground in the harness, the instructions say to connect to body of car but the harness ground works fine. The last one, which I think was a red with a stripe connects to a solid color wire of the same color (solid red). So except for the blue wire snag, the install was pretty straightforward.

Pros: Fits well, improved sound, add phone capability, bluetooth audio

    Cons: none

Purchased this unit to replace a defective factory radio in a 2008 Ford Taurus. This is the 3rd car in about 20 years I have replaced a factory unit with a Pioneer. I continued to be amazed at the improvement realized even with the factory speakers. You can't beat this unit for the money. Up grading the vehicle to Blue Tooth alone was worth the cost. Getting used to the various controls and features of the Pioneer, takes a little getting used to, but the learning curve is worth the results realized.

Pros: Fit and finish, quality feel to the controls.

Cons: Learning control functions be complicated at first, Wish indicator lights would remain dimmed after switching the unit off and turning it back on. Seems to bright at night.

    great product so far

I bought this to replace my factory stereo in my 07 Subaru Legacy. It was easy instillation (so my boyfriend told me) which is a plus! Came with great instructions and all pieces fit in my car perfectly. I love that you can use USB, AUX, and blue tooth to play music! I have it hooked up to my subs and amp so do not know how it sounds with factory speakers, but sounds awesome with mine! I also like how easy it is to use and the ability to change colors is great too. Definitely a great value for all that you get! I have always been pleased with my Pioneer purchases and this one is no different.

Pros: easy to install color changing bluetooth, usb and aux available so easy to play music all different ways

    Cons: none so far
