Pioneer has created a real showstopper with their FH-X700BT CD receiver. You can choose from over 210,000 colors to match the Pioneer's display to your vehicle's dash illumination, or you can set separate colors for controls and display to create the look that makes you happy.

Big, bright, and bold

Pioneer has created a real showstopper with their FH-X700BT CD receiver. You can choose from over 210,000 colors to match the Pioneer's display to your vehicle's dash illumination, or you can set separate colors for controls and display to create the look that makes you happy.

Pioneer FH-X700BT

MIXTRAX takes the show up another notch

When you're in the mood, Pioneer's exclusive MIXTRAX feature adds a light show to your dash as you're listening to your favorite playlists and music files. You'll enjoy a pulsating multi-color display that's synchronized with your tunes, plus DJ-style audio transitions from song to song. It's sure to liven up the audio experience in your ride.

Play almost any media

The FH-X700BT kicks out the jams from almost any media or device. You can plug your iPod® or iPhone® into the front-panel USB input and take charge from the receiver's controls. Download the free Pioneer Connect App for your Android® to enjoy USB connection and control of your Droid. If you're a Pandora fan, you can take charge from the receiver when your iPhone® is connected.

Built-in Bluetooth®

Bluetooth lets you can answer a call coming in on your compatible phone with the push of a button on the receiver. You'll talk like your caller is sitting next to you, freeing up your hands and letting you concentrate on the drive. The FH-X700BT supports Bluetooth audio streaming too, so you can stream music wirelessly from compatible devices to the receiver, plus control basic functions like track up or down.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

Note: Bluetooth compatibility of this device may vary, depending on your phone and service provider.

Note: If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver or its optional iPod adapter.

I love my Pioneer especially when I don't want to be girly and I change the color to fit my mood plus I get excellent reception.

Very attractive looking radio but I had speaker popping noises added additional ground wire that did not help. Now after 8 months the USB port when is use is flashes red and won't play songs.

    Pros: Radio looks awesome.

Cons: Had issues from day 1; speaker interference; hands free talking never has worked now USB flashes red and will not play music. This is probably the reason it was discontinued.

Well its everything i want, course im a meat and potatoes guy. It has aux capibilty other various features some i have yet to explore. However the guys that installed it may have done something wrong because i cant pick up AM signal worth spit. They said it was because of a bad tuner, i find that hard to believe. Maybe i was better off installing it myself instead of a radio company. I purchased it from an online retailer before it was available on Crutchfield unfortunately.

Love this stereo. It has all the functions that I want (3.5 mm, USB, bluetooth, AM/FM, CD) and was painless to install. The sound quality is far better than my old factory installed stereo. I gave it 4 stars on Easy To Use but that's just in comparison to the latest touch screen stereos (Which may be a little unfair).

Pros: Installs quickly. Great sound. Easy to connect BT.

Cons: Although it has many customizable features, it can be a little tricky initially set up.

This unit was a purchase for my son's 2009 Fusion and looks and sounds great with the factory speakers. We decided to have the unit professionally installed vs. doing it ourselves in the cold garage during the middle of winter and glad we did! The BT feature is probably what I am most impressed with and how it connects to your phone for both phone calls and audio streaming. Pairing to an iphone 4S and 5C was flawless. For phone features you can set to auto answer for incoming calls which I felt was a plus for a young driver that needs less distractions fumbling for buttons to answer a phone. Access to your phone book from the phone is displayed on the screen in several options. All of your music files on your phone are accessible through the unit as well with ability to connect via BT, USB and Aux port. USB connection provides the best sound performance and also allows the MixTrax feature to function which is a cool with the flashing lights to the beat of the music. This was a great purchase and my son is very happy with it. We are now trying to determine if adding a sub and new aftermarket speakers would make the unit sound even better! I highly suggest purchasing a full kit from Crutchfield for installation as it makes life much easier and allows you to keep steering wheel controls. A heated garage is always a plus as well!

Pros: Very easy to operate Offers tons of features to connect with your smart phone for music and phone options. Lighted display and button options allow you to match the look of the rest of your dash lighting.

Absolutely GREAT radio!!! Pioneer has so many great and easy to use features on this head unit. Large rotary knob in the center allows quick scrolling through menus and searches. This head unit is easy to link to a phone via Bluetooth and can search through Pandora with built in radio controls. Phone and other device connectivity works flawlessly. Connected to Pandora via Bluetooth allows song skipping on the radio and displays song/artist info. Shutting the car off and upon restart automatically reconnects and resumes playing. Bluetooth linked wireless talking sounds great and easy to use. This is a amazing radio and even better at the price it is!

Pros: Ease of use. Connectivity functionality. Price for amount of features!

Cons: Display is kind of bright

This unit sounds great and looks awesome. It's a Pioneer! I have had this unit for only a couple of weeks. The only complaint I have is that the "dimmer" function could be a little more functional. Even with the dimmer "ON" the unit is still very bright. When I match the colors of the radio to my trucks instrument panel, it lights up the entire crew cab. This is not a problem during the day time. However, at night it is blinding. I have to keep the "Key" color on a dark blue so it is not so bright.

Pros: Easy-to-use, customizable to any interior, great sound quality, Great Price!

Cons: The only complaint so far is the brightness of the unit even if the dimmer is "ON".

Excellent product - looks to have been superseded by the FHX720BT. Great sound, great external microphone and very easy install. The Crutchfield kit which includes the fascia and harness makes the install very straight forward - just match up the wire colors, solder together, plug and play. Comments so far from using bluetooth calls have been crystal clear clarity from the microphone, which was one of the main reasons I went for this unit. The look of the unit is one of personal taste - granted there are more attractive head units out there; for me the other reason I went for this particular model is that it doesn't look very expensive, so will likely not be the subject of any unwanted attention. 10 out of 10 and great service from Crutchfield

Pros: - Excellent sound quality - External high quality microphone - Remote handset - Great value - Lighter than OEM head unit

Cons: - Doesn't look high end (but then it isn't)

I replaced my 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix's factory radio with this Pioneer unit. Decided to keep the car for a few more years and wanted the bluetooth connectibility for the Ipad and for a telephone. I'll admit, doing this yourself can seem intimidating but I decided to give it a go. First, the most important thing is to have the right tools. Spend a couple of bucks and by a tool to pry off your car panel. It made it so easy and worked like a champ. I also looked at Youtube for some videos on installation and the radio. Unbelievably great information. When the unit arrived, I did the wiring in the basement on my work bench. I bought crimp caps from Radio Shack to connect the wires and they worked great. There were a couple of extra red wires which concerned me but a quick call to Crutchfields incredible tech support answered the question in a second. The actual install was easy. The hardest part was unplugging the factory radio which was just a tight connector. Once in, turned it on, worked like a champ. It looks great, sounds great, and now has all the bluetooth connectabilty I wanted. The CD player is almost obsolete now. The unit comes with a neat feature called Mixtrax which flashes the unit's lights to the music. The manual was unclear about this function but I called Crutchfield and learned that this works ONLY with music on a USB thumb drive. I bought a couple of low profile thumbs and uploaded some MP3's to them and the feature works great. My good old Pontiac is new!

Pros: *Bluetooth connectability for a phone is a great feature *Lights are adjustable and fun *Sound quality is very good *Install is easy with a little preparation *Great to connect ipod to unit *Much better than old radio with new features *Easy to setup with a little experimenting

Cons: *The manual is not very well written but you can get the information on Youtube

Comments for 93 Corvette, Series C4

I have a 93 Corvette, my notes maybe applicable to all C4 series model years. The manual is too hard on old eyes; the fonts are way too small and too lite for easy reading. The SCR button does not turn the unit off completely. If you just want to hear the radio or CD, the speakers are activated when the vehicle is started. If you turn the radio off the speakers stay on with a hum noise and the antenna stays up. It is a nuisance listening to the speaker hum. The antenna going up and down every time vehicle is started and amplifiers being on at each speaker Bose speaker during a non-use creates costly wear on items to be rebuilt or replaced; price out those amplifiers. I was told the speakers and antenna would be off, during an off mode, which did not work out. The only way to get them off is to open the door, not practical at 60 mph. If you use the vehicle occasionally it may be practical to disconnect the battery to prevent battery drain. But the radio will not retain memory with a disconnected battery; therefore it has to be reprogrammed, a real pain. The phone mic.is connected with a wire in the back of the radio. I left off since I did not want to tangle the wire in the steering, could interfere with driving, or just the wires looking bad. I expect a remote mic is in the future. There is a free video on the internet which shows easy directions for installing the stereo / cd, which is very worthy for my Corvette. Otherwise the Stereo / cd sounds good, after a few minutes

    Pros:

Cons: I have a 93 Corvette, my notes maybe applicable to all C4 series Model years. The manual is too hard on old eyes; the fonts are way too small and too lite for easy reading.

I have been a Pioneer fan and advocate since the late 80's. I felt like they always have put out a quality product, and this deck is no exception. It has a great sound and an even better look. When you pick a deck to go into your vehicle you want something that looks like it belongs. This deck looked like it belonged in the dash. A perfect fit, not to mention a perfect sound. Then with the custom multi colored LEDs in this deck I didn't have to worry about it matching the factory light in my 2012 F-150. Maybe I should have taken a pic and sent it in. The look is sleek and sexy. Adjusting the settings took me a few minutes though. Does have your basic bass and treble settings, but has EQ settings which I had to figure out, but now that I have it sounds great.

Pros: LEDs lets me customize the look, sexy look, a lot of adjustments to get it sounding just like I want

Cons: going thru the menu to make adjustments, manual is a bit complex

Unit was similar to a prior purchase from Crutchfield. The wiring up was fine and the fit was spot on. It has all the features I need.

Pros: Looks great and was able to match display color for my 04 Passat. Bluetooth link works flawlessly. Set up and programming was easy.

Cons: Mixtrax feature is totally lost on me. It's like having a disco ball in your car. I opted out. I wish they had a weighted control knob that felt like I was turning something.

I am the original owner of a 2003 Ford Expedition. The stock radio had no aux port, BT, or way to play mp3s from my iphone. I also wanted a way to talk wireless while driving so I bought the Pioneer FH-X700BT and crutchfield included the wire harness, faceplate and install instructions. I did buy a seperate 12V to 5V amp converter after reading install reviews. The install was super fast and easy. I installed the BT mic on my visor and have used in numerous times. The BT streaming feature is fantastic. I love how I can get in the truck, start it up, and without ever taking my phone out of my pocket it will continue streaming right where it left off - whether it was Pandora, Amazon, iTunes, or the music on my phone.

Pros: BT phone operations BT streaming Ease of use Sound quality

Cons: No tie wiring to interface with the car headlight dimming

Made from cheap material. Within 3 months the plastic chrome finish started coming off. Shows wear quickly. The lights are too bright at night and too dim in the day.

Pros: A lot of connectivity for price.

Cons: The setting reset to factory randomly. this is incredibly annoying because I have to reset all my radio channels, the clock, the lighting scheme and the audio settings almost daily. The trim lights are too bright at night, yet the display lights are too dim in the day. The dimmer barely makes any difference. Made from cheap material. Within 3 months the plastic chrome finish started coming off. Shows wear quickly. The lights are too bright at night and too dim in the day.

Smarter than I am. I actually have had to read the manual to operate this. Well, not the whole manual, anyway. The unit is smarter than I am. Lots of variable settings. Not too hard, just have to get the hang of it and learn the quirky things.

Replaced OEM unit because I wanted iPhone control & Bluetooth for calling. Was pleasantly surprised to find that Bluetooth audio works flawlessly and even displays the track name when I'm streaming from Spotify or Pandora. Sounds quality is much better than the stock unit, even without upgrading the speakers. This was my first DIY car stereo installation and it wasn't too difficult - just took patience.

Pros: Bluetooth audio & phone calling work flawlessly, makes the USB port almost unnecessary Very good sound Lots of features when you figure out the menu navigation - colors, equalizer, etc. Very good value for the money

Cons: Rotating colors (default functionality, can be changed) is cheesy LCD display feels like a throwback to the 90's, but a more modern screen would probably have driven up the cost Takes some time to figure out how to manipulate all the menus via the single knob

I really like the system. My only complaint is that I can't get the rear speakers to function. I've made one call and spoke with your tech and still ..... no sound. These are new speakers purchased from you folks that operated before making the switch to Pioneer. The instructions provided were not the best. I'm still looking for answers from Crutchfield as to why I cannot get the rear speakers to work on my 2006 Ford Explorer.

Pros: Very much like the 700BT

Cons: Poor instructions to replace old system.

This was not the HU I initially wanted. At a minimum for replacing the factory unit I was looking for iPod interface, keeping my steering wheel controls (SWC), and BlueTooth phone and audio. The "nice to haves" were touch screen and full Android integration. This unit had my minimums and when I saw it on-sale and how desperate I was to replace my current factory unit I jumped at it. I have NOT been disappointed. Installation was easy in my Ford Expedition. Units have changed a LOT since my last installs for friends in High School and College - but the tech team at was very knowledgeable and patient and helped me in my ordering of the Steering Wheel control and ensuring and double checking I had the right equipment and parts for my car. I made two calls during installation to ensure my wiring before soldering up my harnesses and connecting the SWC. Both calls were answered promptly and professionally. Great overall experience and very happy with my purchase.

Pros: Looks good, customizable, BlueTooth Audio and Phone is fantastic

Cons: Illumination/dimming for night driving is needed.

Very good "radio" for the price, but does so much more. BT is nice, USB port on front is a plus. Looks great! I had to set to dark red in color, and dimmed as it's pretty bright at night. Controls have good feel, and I see why I've always been a Pioneer fan.

Pros: Easy to install, good controls, works well.

Cons: Settings/menu system a little strange at first, but actually makes sense after you use if for a bit. No worries.

Replaced factory Bose HU in my Maxima with this unit. Installation was simple and straightforward. Everything works great on it. Build quality seems good so far (only installed a week), despite being considerably lighter than the factory HU which could be the lack of the 6cd changer. Sounds a lot better through the factory amp and speakers once I got everything tweaked with the EQ and input gains. Radio reception is awful, but I think that is due to the factory "diversity antenna" of the Bose system not being fully compatible with a standard single antenna system. I rarely listen to the radio, so that's not an issue for me. The customizable display colors were able to blend with dash lighting and LED displays very nicely.

Pros: -Sound quality, appearance, build quality, functionality

Cons: The very shiny & modern appearance may look out of place in older or more basic interiors.

    1999 Toyota Tacoma
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this receiver to replace a faulty aftermarket in my 1999 Toyota Tacoma. Installation went well and fit perfectly into the factory opening. Normally wiring harnesses from Crutchfield work well but because of the previous aftermarket installation - I was not able to use the one provided [not Crutchfield's fault]. The Pioneer unit sounds decent but there are factory preset equalizations that do an OK job; but I prefer to tweek some of the audio bands myself rather than relying on presets. Also couldn't hear much difference between three loudness settings. The mixtrack lighting feature is annoying - maybe I just have to experiment more to figure out how to shut it off. Also, if there's an On/Off feature [besides turning the vehicle off] ... it's a mystery to me. Overall I like the sound and ease of installation. At The pricepoint for this unit, it's a good buy. I'm sure I'll enjoy it. Having a USB and stereo mini plug input on the face of the Pioneer is excellent - love it ! Haven't paired up my cell phone yet .... but it's another feature that influenced my decision to buy this unit in the first place. The coolness factor only applies if you like annoying, flashing lights - yuk. Toyota factory speakers were already upgraded to 4 Infinity speakers which adds to the sound quality. You really have to work with this receiver to figure out many of the settings that are not covered well in the manual.

Pros: Good sound, easy to install. USB and stereo mini plug input a real plus. Easy to read displays. Radio sensitivity is very good.

Cons: Can't find an On/Off button. Preset equalization not as flexible as I'd like. Flashing mixtrack lights that constantly change colors is distracting.

First off, this is a great radio, it really added quite a dynamic sound compared to my stock receiver and the EQ options are great. The color changing options are fantastic as well, however this receiver is bright. I had to choose a darker color just so I wasn't distracting myself at night. The receiver also doesn't have a wire for illumination, it has to be switched on and off manually which is a pain. The display is adequate, but it would be nice to be able to see track info and time. The bluetooth music streaming is the reason I bought this receiver and I must say I'm very happy with it, flawless bluetooth control. All in all I am very happy with my receiver and I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Pros: Great sound Great "styling" Great build quality Nice EQ Great bluetooth connectivity Nice color options

Cons: Bright. No dimmer/illumination wires for auto dimming Interface can be a little confusing

Had this installed in my 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. I did not install it myself. I'm used to the older style decks where you can control bass, mid, and treble. Everything this deck does is based on hZ. I don't know enough about audio to know which hertz are the right hertz to adjust so it was very very confusing after it was installed. Once I had my car audio guy explain everything to me it made a lot more sense though. The deck came with built in bluetooth which I knew before I bought it but I had no idea what it meant exactly. It came with a microphone that the installer attached above my rear-view mirror and now I have hands-free phone calls in my car and hear the other party through my speakers. Awesome! There's a USB port on the front of the deck so you can plug a flash drive in and it will play any music you have on the flash drive. I don't know if there are file types it won't play. That's a cool feature but I still prefer to plug my 160gb ipod in and set it to shuffle. The deck has cool colors to choose from and it's pretty easy to use. There's one main button to get to the menu which is nice. Other decks I've had had multiple menu options and different buttons to use to get to them. Overall I like this deck and it seems like it was a good value. My installer told me "it only has two pre-outs". I have no idea what that means but maybe somebody that's looking at this deck will read this and it will help them make a decision lol

Pros: Cool colors Ease of use Good sound

Cons: A little confusing if you don't understand the hertz that different sounds are measured in

This radio is awesome! I initially installed this in my 2003 Trailblazer and it worked flawlessly. The car recently got totaled and one of my only stipulations for a new car was that this radio had to fit in it. I have had this unit for about 3 months now. Great stereo for the money, easy assembly and installation. I installed the unit in my 2004 F-250. It was a tight fit even with modifying the dash. You have to file/remove quite a bit of the surrounding dash material to get the stereo to fit. Once it is in there is no removing it. The fit is good and looks good. Waiting to see how it performs in the sub-arctic conditions this coming winter in WI.

Pros: Easy assembly and connections. Easy directions. Very nice fit once you get the material removed. The microphone for the phone works very good. Other bluetooth devices haven't worked this well. Very easy connections with phone to use iphone/itunes music. Great sound, I will purchasing new speakers in the future to improve the sound quality from the stock ones.

Cons: The programing options are intense, learning the sequence of operations to get to each option to make adjustments gets confusing at times. This could be simpler. Not being able to pull unit out once its installed unless you pull apart the whole dash.

I bought the same radio for my wife's 05 Tahoe in December (gift from Santa) and at first did not like it seemed to busy. I quickly became jealous with the functionality of the CD Player. The ease in which she could navigate the attached flash drive for music, to changing the colors of the display/buttons (only downside is dim is still bright at night). I have always been a fan of Pioneer since the High School days and nothing has changed. I was worried about hooking up the wiring harness and external microphone for the handsfree phone function (a recent self professed DIYer), however the task was not too much and the CD Player is working fine. It has made my stock speakers sound like they have life in them (I may have to update that at a later date). The longest task of the entire install was mounting the microphone and hiding the wire under the headliner and under all the trim/dash (time consuming but worth the $75.00 I saved doing the install myself). FYI- Red to me is the dimmest of the lights which works out great for me. Thanks Crutchfield Team

Pros: Too many features, handsfree blue tooth, USB port for flash drive or charging phone, Aux input, .....

Cons: The only con would be I added to my cart and then when went to complete the purchase the price had increased back to the old (higher) price, same price paid for wife's unit in December. The con was still not enough to keep me away or change my mind. Just on the next go will make sure wallet is handy to pay right then. Live and learn.

Was looking for a low cost upgrade to add hands free phone use. Am 100% satisfied I made the right choice. This head unit is easy to setup and use is intuitive. I hardly needed to refer to the manual. Ease of installation depends on your application (car) but in my case it took just 10 minutes AFTER creating the interface cable, which took 20 minutes - cause I always solder my connections. Regardless making the cable is easy because all of the wires are color coded and matched up perfectly

Pros: Great price. All the features needed for great sound quality, especially the base boost. Has improved the safety of my driving experience with hand free cell phone feature. Interface with the cell phone is automated, no codes to enter.

Cons: The quality was so good it made me want even more. So I ordered speaker upgrades too.

I was afraid I would have to replace the speakers in my old factory system. I replaced the head end first so I can stream bluetooth from my devices and found the sound qualify from this stereo is excellent, and I no longer need to replace any of my factory speakers.

Pros: Great sound, love the features, USB & Aux port in front. Bluetooth automatically connects and continues playing where it left off, even when moving from a bluetooth headset to the stereo. Installation was easy and the display looks good in my car.

Cons: The interface is a little tough to figure out and learn. The display is a little too busy and bright, and the volume knob takes too many turns to adjust the sound. I wish it had an off button instead of having to hold the source button. None of the above issues are enough to have kept me from purchasing the stereo.

I love this stereo. Sounds amazing. Super easy to install. I've never installed a car stereo before, and I got it done in about 45 minutes (this includes the time I spent looking for my crimping tool). Very easy to set up. You can pick from a bunch of choices for the lighting. Bluetooth was okay to set up. I had to pair it from my phone.... couldn't figure out how to pair it from the receiver's end. Call quality is very good. Two small, but minor downsides. The wiring from the stereo is a pretty light guage. Haven't noticed any sound quality issued, but it wasn't as thick a gauge as what my oem stereo had. Second, very minor downside, the illumination doesn't really dim that much at night. These things are so minor though. I love the unit and it sounds wonderful.

Pros: Great sound, easy install even for a newbie, looks great

Cons: Dims poorly, thin gauge wiring.

I bought this unit as an upgrade to my 2006 Toyota Tacoma stereo. Installation was simple and you can count on good support from Crutchfield. The unit is not so simple to use, specially when driving; on sunny days you won't be able to read the dial, not even when the dimmer is on high, which by the way only has two settings. When night driving, I found the illumination is too bright even on the lowest setting of the dimmer. The ability to set the illumination color according to the instruments panel's color is a nice feature. The sound has improved compared with the factory unit. The fit with the included bezel and brackets is good. Overall a good unit.

This is a great head unit for the money. The bluetooth quality is fantastic compared to older decks with this feature that I have used. It did improve the factory sound quality in my Lincoln Continental. The ipod control is great. Streaming music is fantastic. I have not tested a CD yet, but I am sure it is fine. I bought this for my wife, and she likes how easy it is to use. This is not the head unit for an audiophile, for for $140 installed it really is unbeatable!

Pros: Features, sound quality, ease of use.

Cons: Display is VERY bright even on the dimmest setting. Only 2 sets of pre outs.

Sounds great. Looks pretty good I was looking for something that was basically stock replacement. It's very bright and flashy. Took a bit to understand the set up

    Pros: Does the job

Cons: A little too flashy for what I wanted

Purchased this product for my daughters 05 Vibe. Was a bit worried about being able to do the install myself, but with the adapters sent in the box from Crutchfield it was truly an easy job. I've never done anything like this before, but it seriously took me only an 2 hours to remove the factory unit and install this unit. With the adapters sent in the box it is just plug and play. This new head unit is strong and clear. I'm very pleased with the end result.

Pros: Crisp clear sound. Better than factory unit. Installation looks like factory.

Cons: Not being able to dim the display with the dash instrument dimmer dial. Programming the function settings for even basis operation is a bit overwhelming for someone used to having seperate dials on the unit for adjustments.

This was my first purchase of a aftermarket car radio. I did plenty of research on multiple radios, and finally decided on this one. And after three months, i am very well pleased with this purchase, and would recommend it to anybody looking for a new radio.

Pros: It is very well designed, and has countless features.

Cons: It can be a little confusing to operate when you first start using it.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This may have been straight 5's until I noticed that it is now $10 LESS than what I paid for it earlier this month. This little unit does exactly what I wanted it to do, and vastly improves the safety (hands free) of my 2006 Toyota Highlander. Mostly great install directions (see below)

Pros: Great features, Better Bluetooth connectivity/performance than my Acura Easy install

Cons: As detailed as the instructions were for the radio, wiring harness, etc., there was NO mention of the microphone required for the handsfree phone. I had to improvise, there was no way I was going to have the wire draped across the dash, or clipped on the steering column. I was able to snake it through one of the heater/ac vents (so I can't use the hands free and the fan at the same time if I want to be heard). With such a great instruction set, how could Crutchfield has missed this?

Crutchfield response on September 8, 2014 When we saw Mr. Franzosa's review, we alerted our Tech Support team so they can help the customer find a better way to route that microphone wire. An external microphone is a key component to a good hands-free calling experience. Stereos with microphones built into the faceplate just can't pick up your voice as well. And we know how it feels to buy something and then have it the price drop the next day. The extra $10 in the price has been refunded to you!

The Pioneer FH-X700BT was surprisingly very easy to install. I purchased it for my daughter's hand-me-down 2004 Toyota Sequoia, when the OEM started acting up. I wanted to have a project I could work on with her that would be fun before she went off to college. My first problem was I ordered the wrong wiring harness. When I called Crutchfield I was immediately speaking (on a Saturday afternoon) with a tech who knew what stereo I had purchased without my even giving him my name or invoice number -amazing. Must be tied to the phone number. He explained that I ordered the wrong wiring housing, but that they would immediately ship the correct housing at no-charge. I declined and purchased it locally so I could finish the project that day. The directions were great and it was very easy to complete the project in about 2.5 hours. Not bad for someone who has never done this before. I would definitely use Crutchfield again due to their excellent customer service!

Pros: Easy to connect to iphone via Bluetooth. Easy install. Great customer service from Crutchfield. Perfect fit.

Cons: The changing colors would drive me up a wall. Luckily my daughter was able to lock it onto one color and then lower the brightness level on her own.

I like everything about this radio except one thing --- it does not dim with the factory dimmer switch, which the original radio to the vehicle did. I do understand it is a variable voltage issue within the radio but did not realize it when I purchased it. The colors are too bright when traveling in darkened conditions. Yes, there are multiple colors to choose from & some are more subdued. It does have a dimming feature, but the impact is negligible. Consequently, it is adequate & I will keep the product. Just would have liked the dimmer to work. All other aspects of the radio are great ... great sound, very nice to have all my CD's on a thumb drive & able to play through the USB port, very easy to navigate from one source to another. Nice installation kit so it does look like a factory install. Additionally, the Bluetooth is very clear for the users on the other end. Was very easy to install in a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD.

Pros: Great sound, ease of use, nice to have multiple sources of input (USB, Aux, etc).

Cons: Lack of significant dimming ability for low light conditions.

Tools : plastic ply, screw driver, plastic cutter Installation accessories : wire nuts (x10), wire harness(Metra 70-1721), In-dash kit(Mentra 95-7801) Installation process was not very easy for me, the 1st time car audio installer. It took me 4 hours including several calls to Crutchfield technical support. Initially I bought a portable bluetooth speaker hooked to my iphone to listen to music. But it was not the same experience as car speakers. I decided to buy this product based on reviews from on line. I hesitated between a different on line retailer and Crutchfield where to buy from. I am a big fan of the other on line retailer for most products. But I was worried with any technical issue during installation. Many years ago I had a very good customer experience with Crutchfield. So I decided to go with Crutchfield for just a little extra $. My decision turned out to be not wrong. I had a couple of technical issues and Crutchfield technicians were very patient and very professional even at 11pm! Overall I am very satisfied with this production and customer support.

Pros: Good value, nice features, great technical customer support from Crutchfield - this is main reason I decided to write review.

Cons: Installation instruction was not super clear - wiring and side bracket. Incomplete installation part and tool - plying tool and wire nuts.

I upgraded to this receiver because the factory receiver in my 2009 Cube wouldn't charge my iPod. I've purchased Pioneer receivers in the past and never had a complaint about them, the FH-X700BT is no exception. The unit itself is very solid and well built. Amazing sound for the price, can't think of anything negative about the unit. Grounding it to the chassis was easy enough as well. Although I had no need for the Metra mounting hardware that was sent with it, I used the factory brackets from the original receiver and it mounted right up with no problems.

Pros: Ease of use, Amazing sound for the price

Cons: Haven't run into any yet.

Easy install on a 2006 Toyota Camry. Make sure you get the ASWC-1 (option) to keep your steering wheel controls for the radio. Use the Metra 70-8114 harness (originally not supplied in kit or shown on Crutchfield website for this item; Crutchfield hooked me up after the sale on this item) to avoid cutting/ splicing into factory connection for steering wheel controls on many Toyota and Lexus models. Radio was truly plug and play thanks to Crutchfield kits and harnesses. You can tone down the light show on the radio dial/ face pretty easily, so don't pay attention to some of the negative comments on that.

Pros: Great Crutchfield customer service and shipping. Thanks very much.

    Cons: Nothing so far.
