    Why replace your factory radio?

Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth 3.0: The FH-X720BT is equipped with built-in Bluetooth (ver. 3.0), allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit.  In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP 1.6 (Hands Free Profile), OPP 1.1 (Object Push Profile), PBAB 1.0 (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP 1.3 (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP 1.5 (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Pioneer FH-X720BT.

SPP + USB Pairing w/ Guest Mode: With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the FH-X720BT without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings (your phone must also support SSP). Up to 3 Bluetooth-compatible devices can be paired to this head unit.

    • USB Pairing for iPhone: You can also pair your Apple iPhone (iOS 5.0+) by simply connecting it to the Pioneer head unit via USB and following a single prompt on the head unit's display.
    • Guest Mode: "Guest Mode" allows you to add and replace a 3rd mobile device instantly to the receiver; Guest Mode is a great feature for a family vehicle with multiple drivers or a driver with multiple devices because it allows users to pair and delete devices easily without a lengthy registration or deletion process.
    • Dual Phone Connect: Once the pairing process is complete, the head unit will automatically connect two phones when in the vehicle to make and receive calls and stream music from both mobile devices.

Hands-Free Communication (w/ External Mic): The FH-X720BT supports wireless hands-free communication (HFP/PBAB) for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. And, thanks to the latest Hands-Free Profile (HFP 1.6) with wideband speech capability, the FH-X720BT provides more natural sound quality and details during wireless calls. The head unit will display the caller's information and an audible ring tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker during an incoming call. You can manually answer an incoming call or have the unit automatically answer the call. The FH-X720BT allows you to carry on a phone conversation from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone using the head unit's external microphone and your car audio speakers. During a conversation you can adjust the volume, as well as switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode. Using the FH-X720BT, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:

    • Phone Book: The phone book in your Bluetooth enabled cellular phone will be transferred automatically when the phone is paired to this unit. After finding the number you want to call in the phone book from the head unit, you can select the entry and make the call. If a lot of numbers are registered in the phone book, you can search for a phone number by the contact person's name alphabetically (A-Z).
    • Presets: You can easily store up to six phone numbers as presets for speed dialing.
    • Call Log: The most recent calls dialed, received, and missed are stored in memory. You can browse them and call numbers from these lists.
    • Voice Dialing (Siri only): When paired and connected with an iPhone 4S or later via Bluetooth, the Pioneer head unit has the ability to access Siri through its front-panel controls and external microphone. You'll be able to dial a phone number or contact via voice command.
Note: The external microphone provides better performance in noisy environments than the integrated microphone found on the front-panel of many aftermarket or factory radios. The microphone features a 13' cord that plugs into the back of the radio, and comes with an adjustable visor-mount clip. The microphone measures 0.475" (diameter) x 1.445" (depth). The unit is not equipped with an integrated microphone.

Wireless Audio Streaming (w/ Advanced Music Navigation): The Pioneer FH-X720BT also supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The head unit can stream music stored on your Bluetooth enabled device or music apps you have downloaded on your device. In addition to basic playback functions (Play/Pause, FF/RW, Skip, Random/Repeat), the FH-X720BT lets you browse your stored music by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, etc. (AVRCP 1.4+ phones only). The head unit will also display your music's song information; such as Artist name and Song/Album title (app must also support). When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call.

Siri Eyes-Free Control: When paired and connected with an iPhone with Siri via Bluetooth (not USB), the Pioneer FH-X720BT has the ability to access Siri through its front-panel controls and external microphone. Simply press and hold head unit's phone key to engage Siri and use the included microphone to communicate with Siri. Siri's voice will heard through your vehicle's speakers. All Siri functions including hands-free calling, music search, setting reminders, text-messaging, audible navigation, and more can be done through the FH-X720BT and its microphone. You can even ask Siri to get directions to a destination and the turn-by-turn instructions will heard through your vehicle's speakers, while the on-screen map still displays on your iPhone with Siri. The head unit's audio is attenuated while Siri provides audible directions.

Note: The head unit's LCD touchscreen will only display hands-free calling and Bluetooth audio information (all other functions of Siri are only audible through the Pioneer DVD receiver; visual data will still need to be viewed from your iPhone device).

    Disc & USB (Android) Playback

Compatible Discs: The Pioneer FH-X720BT CD receiver supports playback of CD-Audio, CD-R, and CD-RW discs. This unit can play MP3, WMA, and WAV files recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs

Front-Panel USB Input (Android Compliant): The CD receiver's front-panel USB (type-A) port allows you to connect a USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) or USB Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) compliant device; such as your Android smartphone or USB thumbdrive. The USB port enables audio playback & control of MP3, WMA, and WAV audio files stored on your portable USB MSC/MTP device through the Pioneer FH-X720BT. Basic playback controls included Play/Pause, FW/RW, Previous/Next Track, and Random/Repeat. Song/artist information such as track, artist, and album name will also be displayed on the head unit. In addition, USB devices that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the CD receiver's USB port (1A) and the vehicle's ignition switch is set to ACC or On.

    • MSC Playback: The Pioneer FH-X720BT's USB port enables playback & control of MP3/WMA/WAV music files stored on your portable USB MSC device, like your older Android smartphone (w/ OS 2.2+ [Froyo/Gingerbread]) or USB thumbdrive device (up to 32GB) through the head unit.
    • MTP Playback: The FH-X720BT's USB port also enables playback & control of stored MP3/WMA music files on your portable USB MTP device, like your newer Android smartphone (w/ OS 4.0+ [Ice Cream Sandwich/Jelly Bean/KitKat]) through the Pioneer head unit.
Note: You cannot use your Android smartphone's touchscreen to control music playback and you cannot select music apps from your smartphone for playback. However, you can continue to listen to stored music on your Android smartphone through the head unit while you check your Calendar, Facebook, Texts, etc on your phone.

MP3/WMA/WAV Playback: The Pioneer FH-X720BT supports the following types of MP3/WMA/WAV files recorded onto CD-R/RW disc or loaded onto a USB MSC/MTP device.

Auxiliary Input: The FH-X720BT is equipped with a front-panel 3.5mm stereo minijack auxiliary input for connecting external components, such as a portable MP3 player.

    AM/FM + Pandora Radio

Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner: The Supertuner IIID features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.

    • RDS: The Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as artist, title, and album when listening to compatible AM/FM stations.
    • BSM (Best Stations Memory): The BSM (Best Stations Memory) function lets you automatically store the six strongest stations under preset buttons 1-6 of the currently tuned band. The tuner has 3 FM banks and 1 AM bank. You can store 6 presets for each bank giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 6 AM presets.
    • Local Tuning: Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for good reception. There are 4 levels of sensitivity for FM and two levels for AM. The higher settings allow reception of only the strongest stations, while lower settings let you receive progressively weaker stations.

Pandora Internet Radio: The free Pandora App (either from iTunes Apps/Google Play) lets you play music from the Pandora music service through the Pioneer FH-X720BT using your USB-connected Apple iPhone (iOS 5.0+) or Bluetooth paired Android smartphone. Your Apple iPhone must be connected to the FH-X720BT via the CD-IU51/CD-IU52 Pioneer iPod connector cable or the connector-cable that came with your iPhone. Your Android smartphone must support A2DP/AVRCP/SPP Bluetooth profiles and be paired with the Pioneer receiver. Your iPhone or Android smartphone will also need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or WiFi. The FH-X720BT provides control over the Pandora music service and displays Artist, Album, and Song information.

    • Station List: You can select Pandora stations from your Station List by date or alphabetically (A-Z).
    • Shuffle Station List: You can listen to songs played randomly from various stations within your Station List.
    • New Stations + Delete: New stations can be created based on the current songs or artists playing. You can also delete a station from your Pandora station list.
    • Skip Songs: You can skip song tracks within a station. You cannot skip back to a previous song. Pandora limits the number of skips allowed.
    • Thumbs Up/Down: You can give songs a thumbs up or thumbs down to help Pandora personalize stations to suit your preferences.
    • Bookmarking: The song/artist currently being played can be bookmarked & stored in your Pandora account.

Note: Access to the Pandora service will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet. Pandora is not supported in Canada & only available in the United States.

    Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The Pioneer in-dash head unit utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The FH-X720BT is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power specifications for the FH-X720BT are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers.

    • CEA2006 Specs: 14 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Continuous Power Output: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 50Hz-15kHz, 5% THD)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels
Note: The rear speaker outputs can be set to provide full range output with full fading capability, or they can be set to provide non-fading subwoofer (low-pass) output. When the rear speaker outputs are set to subwoofer mode, the rear preamp outputs also switch from full range to subwoofer outputs. When set for subwoofer operation, you can connect the rear speaker leads directly to two small 4-ohm passive subwoofers or a dual voice coil sub with 4-ohm voice coils. If you prefer to use a single 2-ohm subwoofer, you can connect the woofer to one set of speaker leads, leaving the other set of rear leads disconnected. The maximum output provided when a 2-ohm load is connected to one set of leads is 70 watts.

4ch/2V Preouts: The Pioneer FH-X720BT features two pair of 2.0-volt preouts. The unit's Rear/SW preouts can be configured as fading rear-channel outputs or a non-fading subwoofer outputs. When the head unit's RW/SW preouts are configured as a subwoofer output, you can select the frequency of the low pass filter (50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, or 125 Hz), select the filter slope (-6/-12dB), select the subwoofer phase (normal/reverse), and the subwoofer gain (+6 to -24).

Equalizer: The Pioneer FH-X720BT features a Preset & Custom EQ. The built-in equalizer offers 7 preset sound modes (Powerful, Dynamic, Vocal, Natural, Custom 1, Custom 2, and Flat) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The two Custom modes allow you to manually adjust the head unit's 5-band EQ (80Hz, 250Hz, 800Hz, 2.5kHz, 8kHz) from +/-6dB. Custom 1 can be set separately for each source (except for USB/iPod/Pandora); while Custom 2 and the other 5 presets are shared settings used for all sources.

High-Pass Crossover: When you don't want low-frequency sound to be heard through your front or rear speakers, you can simply active the head unit's HPF (high pass filter). By activating the HPF, only frequencies higher than those in the selected range are output from the front or rear speakers. The high pass filter crossover can be set to 50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 125Hz, 160hz, 200Hz or Off. The slope level of the HPF can also be adjusted to -6dB or 12dB.

Advanced Sound Retriever: The Advanced Sound Retriever automatically enhances compressed audio and restores the original richness of the recording. Hear the detail, warmth, and clarity, the way the artist intended it, from all of your highly compressed MP3 and WMA files stored on your USB thumbdrive, Android smartphone, iPod/iPhone, or Bluetooth device. By restoring data (especially higher frequencies) that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever technology enhances audio reproduction nearly all the way up to 20 kHz frequencies

Audio Level Settings: The Pioneer FH-X720BT CD receiver offers a variety of audio settings to tailor the bass, treble, and volume level to your preference.

    • Bass Boost The FH-X720BT features a bass boost function which can be used to enhance low-frequency bass sound. The bass boost function can be set between 0-6.
    • Loudness: The Loudness feature compensates for deficiencies in the low and high sound ranges at low volume. You can set the Loudness feature to Low, Mid, High, or Off.
    • Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust the volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume when switching between sources. Settings are based on the volume level of the FM tuner, which remains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from -4dB to +4dB.

MIXTRAX: Drawing from Pioneer's rich DJ heritage and passion for music, MIXTRAX delivers a unique DJ infused listening experience to listeners in the car. MIXTRAX is an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a non-stop mix of your music library complete with a range of DJ-inspired effects. MIXTRAX takes your typical music listening experience and creates a non-stop mix of your music with 9 random DJ effects and transitions, by removing the breaks and pauses normally introduced between tracks and replacing them with various beats. MIXTRAX is compatible with USB-connected iPhone, iPod, USB MSC device, and select Android devices. There is also a Short Playback option which limits the amount of time each track plays; select from 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, or 3 minutes.

Note: The MIXTRAX function does not work in App mode or with the Pandora App for iPod/iPhone, and is not supported by USB MTP devices. The Advanced Sound Retriever function is disabled when MIXTRAX is activated.

    Display Features

Color Customization: Color Customization lets the user match their receiver illumination to their vehicle's interior lighting. Over 210,000 colors are available to match the illumination of almost any car. The button illumination and display illumination colors can be customized separately for an endless number of color combinations. You can select from 5 preset colors (White/Red/Amber/Green/Blue), customize an illumination color (by adjusting Red/Blue/Green brightness levels), or scan through a variety of colors.

Brightness Control: You can manually adjust the brightness (1-10) of the head unit's display to suit your viewing needs. You can also sync the receiver's illumination to the head units' clock or your vehicle's headlights. To dim the receiver's display automatically when the vehicle's headlights are turned on, you'll need to hardwire the orange/white wire of the head unit's harness to your vehicle's parking light circuit.

MIXTRAX Illumination: MIXTRAX features a club-style illumination that enhances the mood with a dynamic dance club-like lighting effect. As MIXTRAX begins, lights start pulsing to the beat of the music, adding an extra level of entertainment. You can choose different patterns of lighting variations from sound pressure level or low-pass synchronization modes. The lighting effects work like a spectrum analyzer, reaching peak colors based on the intensity of the music.

Clock Display: When the Clock Display has been turned on, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns off audio output, but the clock display and button illumination remains on (you can press the "DISP" button to turn off). When the Clock Display has been turned off, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns the unit off completely. Even if you have turned the radio completely off you can view the clock display by pressing the "DISP" button. The clock will then remain On until you turn it back Off. When the unit is On, you can choose to have the clock display during playback of each source.

Demo Mode: This unit features a Demo mode which can be turned On/Off within the menu.

2-DIN Chassis: The Pioneer FH-X720BThas a 2-DIN chassis (also known as "Double -DIN"), and will fit in many vehicles with a large dash opening. The unit can be ISO-mounted using factory brackets. There is also an optional double-DIN sleeve (130ADTV133, sold separately) available for this unit that will allow you to Euro-mount or custom mount the Pioneer head unit in  your vehicle. As always, please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to verify fit with your vehicle.

    Remote Control

Wireless Remote Control: The FH-X720BT comes with an IR wireless remote control. The remote allows you to control the volume, switch between sources, pause playback, skip music tracks, change display info, and answer/end Bluetooth phone call. You can also mute the volume (function that cannot be performed from the front panel).

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible.

Great sound and price, a little hard to configure but will get figured out. Instructions could be a little clearer on setting the light display but it is cool.

Pros: Great price and sound. easy to install

Cons: Hard to understand the instructions to configure the display lights

I was looking for a good radio that also provided Blue Tooth connectivity for my phone. This unit fit the bill. It replaced the factory radio in my 2007 Silverado. Installation was fairly easy but I did have a few questions. I called the Tech-Support line provided by Crutchfield and got help from a friendly, knowledgeable technician. Nice radio that sounds much better than the factory radio.

    Pros: Great sound and features.

    Very happy!

Couldn't be happier with Bluetooth quality. That was my primary driver. I have three other vehicles I use Bluetooth in and everyone always complains. Not this one! As far as the coolness factor, the lights are cool - but I'm almost 50 so I have mine turned down/off as much as possible. The phone features are also very intuitive. The sound quality immediately improved my 4runner's sound to where I'm not sure I'm going to install the speakers I bought with the head unit. While I don't love interacting with the head unit for music, I did add the steering wheel control adapter so all is great!

Pros: Bluetooth quality. Degree of configuration (lights, sound, etc.)

Cons: Lightshow Buttons seem a little flimsy - would be worried (over time) if I didn't have steering wheel control but feel it an outstanding value for the money.

I was looking for a stereo to replace and update the stereo in my wife's Altima. I selected this model because it was a Pioneer and it had the features we wanted for hands free use with iPhone.

The supplied wiring harness was very simple to splice together and the old stereo was easy to remove after viewing a quick YouTube video. Went to the Pioneer website and downloaded the updated firmware to a thumb drive before getting started. Firmware update would have went smoother had I not had MP3s on the thumb drive the stereo kept trying to access. They recommend an otherwise empty USB drive.

Syncs easily, sounds great and looks great! If you're buying a stereo, Crutchfield is the best!!

Pros: Crutchfield service and fast shipping! Great features, it will catapult your car into the 21st Century!

Cons: I love that it plays MP3/WMA CDs; I wish they could add software to play Apple's compression format as well. Probably a copyright issue. Great stereo, though.

We had the FH-X700BT in the wife's last 4Runner. We bought it for the reason we bought the 720BT for the new car, Bluetooth. There are a few good options for adding on bluetooth to the factory system but this is a cheaper option and you get to upgrade the factory stereo.

First it is very much the same as the 700, so the menu and user interface is familiar for the wife. She likes the front side usb and aux input and if someone is riding with her they can just plug in to be the DJ. The bluetooth, as in all pioneer systems I have used, is great. It works well and is very clear. Has a little white noise build up at highway speeds where the noise canceling cant work 100%.

I like the customizable color options and the stereo quality is great. Compared to factory it really helps Seperation the sounds and adds power to the music.

The metra kit that comes with it is by far the best fitting for the Prius. The Scoche kit has a nice wiring adapter that has no need to wire a resistor into. I did by the Scoche kit for only this plug and play adapter. Then used the metra for everything else. The metra kit fits like factory with even gaps and color/texture that matches perfectly.

Pros: Bluetooth Usb/aux access Clean lines looks good with factory dash Power Color options

Cons: The turn knob is so light to the touch it feels cheap Some of the menus are hidden away

It was an amazing price for all the bells and whistles that come in it. I was really missing having the aux input on my sport Trac and the tape deck adapter was on its last leg. The 2 din fit great after shaving a quarter inch out of the bezel and it looks factory. Now with the Bluetooth speaker and synch there isn't much it can't do.

Pros: Good look, simple operation, great price. Awesome functions

Cons: Cutting the bezel frame made a little mess but that's more on Ford than Pioneer.

I bought this to replace a factory unit in my parents 2003 Toyota Avalon. It is the sprinkles on the vanilla ice cream! It fits perfectly in this car, looks great, sounds great. You need to read the directions to properly use it. It is easy to figure out, but reading directions first saves you a little frustration, and it isn't hard. Love the sound and the bling! Hands free, blue tooth features, ipod, iphone. Crutchfield was great when I called them to inquire if this unit works with an iphone6 (it does) before I ordered it. No problems whatsoever, love it.

Pros: Nice looking, great features for the money

Installed on my 96M Edition Miata. It replaced the factory double din head unit.Fit the factory brackets perfect however there was a gap on all sides of the head unit so called tech at crutchfield and we discussed it and they shipped out a install kit (at no charge I might add) arrived yesterday. Used the trim piece for the double din and it looks pretty darn good.

Really liking the blue tooth for Pandora and phone.

Appears to be a solid purchase at this point.

    Pros: Blue tooth and sound.

I needed to replace the factory unit in my '03 Honda Element and the Pioneer FH-X720BT is my first Pioneer stereo unit. I've always been a Sony consumer, but I wasn't able to find a Sony with the features that I wanted/needed (Bluetooth, color changeable, large buttons and a rotary dial for functions). The stereo works and sounds very well, in fact, maybe a little too well. I've discovered that I'll need to upgrade my speakers to avoid the distortion that happens if I turn it up too loud. I love, love, love the Bluetooth connection with my BlackBerry. Making and receiving calls is amazingly easy. The display even tells me who is calling. The voice control seems to work easily too. I wanted a CD unit that I can alter the color of the lighting to match that of my vehicle (red), and this Pioneer doesn't disappoint. There's a lot of colors to choose from in order to get the exact match you'll need. The buttons are larger than what would be found on a single DIN unit and hopefully will be big enough for my gloved fingers this winter. The rotary dial is exactly what I was looking for (I hate having to push a button to scroll right or left through a menu to make changes. The big dial in the center solves that particular issue. This is not my first deal through Crutchfield, and again I'm left with the impression of a company that really has their act together. There was a mixup (my mistake) with the wiring harness and they came through for me with the right one and free shipping.

Pros: Great sound, easy to learn how to control and easy installation.

Cons: None that I've encountered yet.

This is a pretty nice unit. I installed it myself with minimal fuss. It took me longer to connect all the wires in the harness together than it did to put it in the dash. I put this in my 99 Accord EX to replace the original unit. I left the original speakers in also. The most difficult part of the install was installing the steering wheel control adapter. I had to slice a small section of insulation off one of the car's harness wires in order to splice the adapter wire on. I also soldered it for the best connection. Not everyone is comfortable slicing such a small wire or soldering. Just do so carefully. I had to make one call to tech support to make sure I was making the correct connection. The diagram for the auto wiring harness looked just a bit different than what it actually appeared. I haven't used all the features yet, but am working on it. I really like the Bluetooth hands free calling and audio streaming. Will work on using the Siri Eyes Free as soon as I get my iPhone 6 (have the 4 now). Sounds good for only 14 watts. I really debated getting an amp just so I could blast the younger generation away (I'm older now and have more money and insurance). Sweet revenge!. Just a bit of trivia...watch the colors as they cycle on the front panel....ROY G BIV.....the colors of the rainbow...red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Sometimes age has it merits. Overall I'm very pleased with this stereo.

Pros: Excellent sound and features. Easy installation. Excellent tech support. Steering wheel control adapter works without a hitch.

Cons: Can be a little daring to tap into an auto wiring harness for some. Soldering can be out of the question for some without the proper equipment (for the adapter). Not really cons, just precautions.

I needed to replace the stock radio in my 2005 Honda Accord LX because it was randomly shorting out. The car is a daily commute vehicle with 150k miles on it and still drives great. Knowing I have many years left of driving this vehicle, it made sense to me to replace it with a new unit that offered some bluetooth functions like hands free calling. I am 45 years old. I honestly am past the want or need of some high tech flashy stereo unit blinking away to the beat of music that shouldn't HAVE lights blinking to it so I was a little confused as to where to go with this purchase. I've owned Pioneer before (decades ago) with great luck so I decided to start there. I read tons of reviews. I called a friend who used to be an installer and he lead me to a single DIN Pioneer head unit. I was fed up with the whole review thing so I just ordered everything including the single DIN radio and the Metra replacement dash panel and that was that. That night I started to single guess the single DIN unit figuring the replacement panel would allow double DIN. I promply called Crutchfield the next a.m. and spoke to Rhonda. I explained I wanted good bluetooth, good radio reception, and nothing flashy. She suggested this unit and I changed my order. The features are perfect for me. Bluetooth is AWESOME. Reception is AWESOME. Blinking lights are OFF. Truth be said, I did have a minor issue with the 1st unit sent to me, but Crutchfield remedied the problem by send a new unit. All is well.

Pros: excellent bluetooth - excellent radio reception - looks nice in car - price is reasonable

Cons: Minor issue with unit - whole front panel would go dark on occasion when pressing the multi function dial on the radio. Started pretty much out of the box. Crutchfield was AWESOME in sending me a brand new unit and I have had zero problems since. Honestly, if you knew me personally, you'd laugh like I did. It's comical for me because my entire life I've always gotten the defect. So purchase this radio with confidence! (I've eliminated the defects.... haha)

Purchased this to replace the factory radio in our Uplander. Definite upgrade in sound quality even with the factory speakers still installed. Bluetooth phone through the radio with the included microphone mounted on the steering column is awesome. It was also nice to be able to change the radio colors to match the interior lighting. Not a big fan of the MIXTRAXX and the associated light show but if you don't use it, it doesn't spoil what is otherwise a solid radio. The wiring diagram in the instructions is not as clear as others I've installed, just take your time and you can make sense of it. Once you've installed it, the menus take a little time to wade your way through but once you've figured out how they work its a breeze to set up your bluetooth devices and such. Solid deal from Crutchfield, good unit, and looks great in the car.

Pros: Sound quality, Bluetooth, Looks Great

I bought this unit because of the looks, Bluetooth audio, USB, aux in, and price. The look is really cool, especially at night with solid red or dark blue set on the keys. Bluetooth audio is OK for a wireless connection from my pocket. Usb audio is great with the best quality next to the cd audio. I haven't used the aux in yet, but I assume it does what it says it does. The price is the real winner with this unit!

Pros: Price! I got it for $130 and it came with everything I needed to uninstall the factory unit and install this unit, except the butt connectors, you'll need those($3 at the local electronics store). Instructions were simple to understand. The colors are vibrant and glow just enough in the night to not be a distraction. Usb audio is fast and sounds great as well as easy to navigate with a couple button presses and turns of the dial. The Bluetooth phone dialing and wired microphone work great also

Cons: The cons are minimal because I like to nitpick. The Bluetooth audio sounds ok, but not as good as other Bluetooth speakers I have. It also has problems recognizing my girlfriends phone when she gets in the car, where our other bt devices don't have an issue. Also, sometimes while listening to Bluetooth audio the display gets stuck on a random song name and won't display the correct title. A minor annoyance, but still annoying.

Two problems really bother me: (1) I can dial to someone and we can have a phone conversation; but if I receive a phone call from someone, there is no audio signal. (2) The App function does not work: "Comm Failed" all the time. I am using a HTC One M7 phone and set the APP to Blue tooth. Strangely, the Bluetooth function works fine. It shown that Pioneer squeeze these new features into the unit without extensive testing to make sure it works.

But I already spend money and time to have them installed. I guess I will have to live with these problems. The problem with receiving phone calls really annoys me!

Pros: Good sound quality Great Pandora integration Cool color effects Great Bluetooth audio quality

Cons: Receiving phone call does not work; APP for Android failed all the time; Remote is quite useless the menu's are deep and hard to understand/navigate
