Highly Dependable

Written By Greg, Arlington VA on Thursday, October 03, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Have used these discs for years with Panasonic DVRs. They allow recording in an erasable/re-recordable form and don't require finalizing the disc (so you can add or erase or edit material on the fly later). In addition, they are highly dependable, as opposed to the record/check/trash and start-over process associated with many DVD+R or DVD-R discs. They're a bit pricey, but when performance--including reliability--is the top requirement, they're the discs I use.

Pros: Reliability, random access.

Cons: Price.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I buy the Panasonic DVD RAM discs exclusively. I always get them from Crutchfield as they have a great price for them. I usually buy a 10 pack box per month. I have been very happy with them.

Pros: You can erase and record on the RAM discs numerous times. Also, they're very easy to edit.

Cons: None

DVD Recording - Does What I Want

Written By Suzi, Indiana on Saturday, April 27, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I ordered these DVD RAM discs for a DVD/VHS machine I have. These discs are very hard to find, so I ordered 2 boxes. Probably didn't need that many as you can re-record on them many times. They should last the rest of my life.

I knew the product from previous use. I could not find it anywhere locally. The new ones work just the same. My customer rep and the rest of the service was great. I will go to Crutchfield again for further needs.

DVD Ram Works Great I Like it. You Can do Different Things With It.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Simply they did not work. They were read as locked by my DVR. I could not format or
record on them. Crutchfield was GREAT about shipping a replacement order. I switched
to the MAXELL DVD-RAM which worked perfectly.

You won't be sorry.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have been using Panasonic DVD-RAM for 7 years (long-term storage, temporary use,
editing), have copied and erased many times, and have never had a problem. Local
stores increasingly don't carry this item because the Blu-Ray recorders are comming.
I'm low-tech and low-def until my technology fails or the new tech prices become
competitive. This is an excellent product and a good price. You won't be sorry.

Cadillac of DVD-RAM

Written By apete, Central Maine on Sunday, January 17, 2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Perfect for recording as well as archiving. The Panasonics are the best. (Well, they developed it, right?).
Stick with the Panasonic brand. Unfortunate, these are becoming harder to find. DVD-RW is/was a DVD-RAM wannabe . . . and a poor and unreliable imitation at that!
I read Ralph's Learning Center article "Blank Media: How to Choose". I was surprised and disappointed that DVD-RAM was never mentioned.
We need more publicity on the advantages of DVD-RAM to keep this media alive.
All of my archiving, backups, and recordings are now done on Panasonic RAM disks (past several years) and I've thrown out all my unreliable CD-RWs and DVD-RW's.

DVD-RAM Saves Time!

Written By RON, Columbia, TN on Thursday, June 18, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The best part about using a RAM disc is that finalizing is NOT needed so you save time! As others have said, the quality is great and you can use a RAM disc like a hard drive to create chapters and edit out commercials. The SP mode gives you two hours of recording time. DVD-RAM discs can also be used to move content between any RAM compatible equipment.

Pansonic DVD-RAM 4.7GB single-sided DVD-RAM discs!!

Written By Scott, Nisswa,Mn. on Sunday, July 16, 2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have been using these Panasonic DVD-RAM blank media discs now for quite some time with my Tosiba D-R2 DVD Recorder! I just format them before each use and have had nothing but great success using them! I use the LP recording mode which gives you approximately 400 plus minute of recording time. Even while recording in the LP mode the picture is as clear as normal viewing with our Dishnetwork Tivo system. Also the audio is excellent with these blank discs! One of the nicest factors with these Panasonic DVD-RAM blank media discs is the very thin case that house these discs! I am able to store two or three of them in the normal space that one of their competitors cases take up!
I would recommend these blank media discs to anyone who is looking for great video and audio reproductions! The fact that you can delete and re-record over movies or shows an almost endless amount of times is a definte bonus! The re-recordings seem to be of the same excellent quality as the first recordings were. Crutchfields sells these discs at a very good price! These are the only DVD-RAMS that I use!! You won't be disappointed!

Re: Works With Toshiba HDD/DVD Video Recorder RD-XS34SU

Written By Lynn, California Coast on Thursday, January 12, 2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these to use with Toshiba HDD/DVD Video Recorder [model RD-XS34SU]. Had to format first, happy to report they work like a charm.

Less hassle than those with cartridges, and this price was excellent on DVD-RAM rewritable media compared to others. Buy with confidence if you have this recorder and need RW's.
