Panasonic's CQ-C1333U CD player makes it easy to build a mobile audio system. Just connect your portable music player, add-on satellite radio, or other external source to the front panel auxiliary input. Then hook up your amps and subs to the two sets of preamp outputs, and hit the road with entertainment options and bass to spare.

Even if you have no plans for a system, this versatile CD player makes a great choice. Its built-in amp will make sure your tunes sound great, while Panasonic's SQ sound shaping gives you three tone curves with bass and treble controls to customize your sound. The CQ-C1333U also brings MP3 playback to the table, meaning the stereo can handle the digital music files that you've burned to disc.

Product Highlights:

    General features:

    Why replace your factory radio?

Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car.

    Low cost, and simple operation.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Panasonic CQ-C1333U is an inexpensive CD player which is simple to use and has MP3 capability. The sound is clean and the bandwidth is pretty flat (through the RCA connectors & CD output). The CD playback quality was better than expected for the price. If you listen to CD's mostly and want something that is simple to operate then this may be for you. The built in selectable sound eq is very aggresive and colors the sound too much, so I use it flat. The unit also comes standard with an easy to learn and use remote. The button controls, placement, and compact size make this a 'eyes on the road no look remote'. The face has no major distractions and blends well with the interior. I'm not sure of the AM/FM reception nor sound quality as I only use the CD player portion (I use the factory radio for all other operations...keep reading...). I have a 1994 Chevy 3500 P/U which I installed this unit in. The factory radio setup is rather unique (not a traditional in dash unit, but rather part of the dash), so I had to mount the CD player elsewhere. The unit is mounted at a 20 degree angle (unit capable of 30). The unit does not skip even when the truck is fully loaded over rough roads! I wanted something inexpensive but with a compact remote for obvious reasons and the capability of at least 2.0 volt RCA output to tie into the factory radio control unit . This unit filled the void perfectly . Installing any aftermarket radio to work with the factory GM radio controller is not plug and play, extensive electrical and electronics knowledge is required to fabricate and adapter. I'm only rating the CD player not compatability.

I have no complaints about the controls or simplicity. But under heavy bass CD's skip really bad

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice looking, Easy to use controls and front AUX jack makes it easy to plug my portable XM radio into.

The only downside is that it suprisingly has less bass than the basic factory unit did in my '03 VUE.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a very nice Stereo for the $$$'s. Sounds decent, it play's MP3 CD's and has a front AUX port which were both big selling points for me. Pretty easy to "Figure Out" all of the functions. I put mine in a '98 escort without too much trouble.
