Features
PureFlat Picture Tube: The
high-resolution, PureFlat picture tube delivers natural and accurate images from
corner to corner, free from the distortion that can occur with conventional
curved screens. This virtually flat screen produces minimal reflections and
renders images that are clean and distraction-free, no matter where you sit in
the room.
Fine Pitch Aperture Tube: Picture
tubes with fine pitch have smaller, more tightly spaced phosphor dots than
normal picture tubes to enable an image with much finer detail.
Invar Mask:
Compared to the conventional shadow mask, the Invar Mask helps provide greater
resistance to the effects of heat produced by electron beam bombardment. This
protection helps reduce the problem of color blur from "doming" and
assures consistently bright, sharp images.
HDTV-ready: Two component video
inputs allow you to connect an optional HDTV receiver or a source with component
video outputs. This television is capable of receiving 1080i, 480p, and 480i
video signals.
Enhanced Progressive Scan Doubler: The
progressive scan doubler displays a full frame of video in 1/60th of a second by
de-interlacing the incoming video signal and progressively scanning the image.
This new scan doubler also provides even more image enhancement by improving the
quality of diagonal lines in a moving picture.
3:2 Pulldown Processing: The
3:2 pulldown processing corrects inherent flaws in frame transfer rates from
film, making a smoother picture with less distortion.
Motion-Adaptive
3D-Y/C Digital
Comb Filter: This
filter is designed to eliminate hanging dots and work on diagonal patterns to
eliminate the color rainbow effect in closely spaced patterns by compensating
for the motion that occurs between fields. As a result, bright colors and fast
action scenes are displayed with incredible clarity.
10-bit 60MHz
A/D Image Processing:
This feature boosts conventional grayscale from 256 to 1024 for 4 times as many
shades of black and white and a much finer image that more closely resembles the
original analog signal. The 10-bit circuitry enables continuous gradual changes
from black to white, and eliminates what is commonly known as false contouring.
Digital Velocity Modulated Scan:
Advanced circuitry along the neck of the CRT senses transitions from dark to
light in the video signal. The black and white portions of the signal are sped
up and slowed down, respectively, resulting in sharp dark to light transitions
and outstanding edge definition. This circuitry can be turned on or off.
Color Matrix: When viewing
digital television programming from a DTV receiver/decoder, this TV will
automatically adjust the color parameters for 1080i and 480p transmissions.
Manual adjustments are also possible for non-standard DTV formats.
Color Transient Improvement (CTI):
This feature minimizes color smear at the edges of television images to assure
clear, distinct colors.
Horizontal Edge
Correction: This
feature helps sharpen the edges of objects in the picture. It works in
conjunction with the dynamic sharpness control and velocity modulated scan to
help produce clean, crisp television images and reduce the unwanted effects of
video noise.
Vertical Edge
Correction: The
vertical edge correction circuit works in conjunction with the digital comb
filter to sharpen the edges of objects in the picture.
Wideband
Video Amplifier:
Expanding the video signal frequency response to more than 10MHz allows for a
horizontal resolution capability of more than 800 lines, depending on the
source.
Video Noise
Reduction: This feature
compares the picture signals for individual pixels of two consecutive fields,
then removes the noise components that exist in both the luminance and
chrominance portions of the signal.
2-Tuner Picture-in-Picture:
This feature allows you to watch two programs at once using the television's
internal tuners. You can select PIP or Split operation. During Split operation,
the main picture and split picture are side-by-side. During PIP operation, a
small PIP frame is superimposed on the main picture. The PIP frame can be moved
to any corner on the screen and the frame's size can be adjusted.
8-bit PIP Image Processing: An
8-bit A/D converter provides 256 levels of gray from black to white in the inset
picture for finer image detail.
Freeze: This feature is used to
freeze the main picture and display it in a PIP or Split frame.
Artificial Intelligence Picture Control: Artificial Intelligence
Picture Control continuously monitors signal conditions to maintain a high
degree of contrast in the picture. It looks at all areas of the picture at the
same time. If a particular area is too light, Artificial Intelligence Picture Control
can darken that area without affecting the black level or brightness in the
overall picture.
Artificial Intelligence Sound
Control: Artificial Intelligence Sound Control automatically adjusts the
volume level on your TV to prevent wide variations in sound between different TV
stations and types of programming.
BBE High-Definition Sound: BBE
High-Definition Sound provides true linear phase correction and dynamic
amplitude compensation. With BBE, speech intelligibility is improved and the
dynamic range of musical passages is restored to provide outstandingly natural
sound.
Sleep Timer: This television
features a built-in electronic sleep timer, set by remote control, that turns
the TV off automatically after 30, 60, or 90 minutes.
Programmable On/Off Timers: The
two programmable timers allow you to program the TV set to turn itself on and off at
designated times every day, while being tuned in to a selected channel.
Remote Control
Multibrand Remote: The
supplied remote is pre-programmed to operate this unit and a number of functions
on other brands of components, including VCRs, cable boxes, DVD players, and DBS
receivers. The Action and directional keys allow you to move the on-screen
selector, making menu navigation simple and efficient.
