Features
3D Dot Matrix Display (3DDM):
The Panasonic CQ-C7105U features the 3-dimensional full dot-matrix display. You
can choose from three graphic patterns (Formula 1 racing, surfing/snowboarding,
moving lines, or alternating all three), a 19-band spectrum analyzer, or ten
still images (gauges, cars, snowboarders, tropical scene, mountain peak,
dolphins, tropical fish, leaves, beach chairs, curved lines, or alternating all
ten). You can also customize the display with your own images processed by
software available from a special Panasonic website. The contrast of the display
can be set between 1 and 5.
Motorized Tilting Face: This
unit has a motorized face plate which slides downward when you press the Open
button for inserting or ejecting a disc. You can also set the angle of the
display to one of four levels. The unit memorizes the last selected angle when
the power is turned off, and returns the face plate to the same angle when power
is turned on.
MP3/WMA/AAC Compatible: The
CQ-C7105U can play MP3, WMA, and AAC files recorded onto CD-R and CD-RW discs in ISO
9660 Level 1/Level 2, Apple Extension to ISO 9660, Joliet, and Romeo. The player
can support up to 511 files (files and folders), 255 files in one folder, 8 levels, and 255 folders.
Note: AAC files which can be played on this unit have the ".m4a"
extension, and were encoded with Apple iTunes version 6. Files encoded with the
iTunes Apple Lossless Encoder have the ".m4a" extension, but cannot be played on
this unit.
Auxiliary Input:
The unit is equipped with a rear panel
stereo RCA input on an 8" pigtail for the connection of a portable audio source. Just connect your portable
cassette, MD or MP3 player to this unit, and you can listen to the audio from
the portable player through the speakers in your mobile audio system. A second
auxiliary input is available when the optional CY-EM100U Expansion Module is
connected.
CEA-2006 Compliant: The
specifications given by Panasonic for the built-in amplifier comply with the
CEA-2006 mobile amplifier power testing and measurement standards from the CEA
(Consumer Electronics Association). All manufacturers who comply with the
standard can display the CEA-2006 logo on their product.
Direct Memory (D-M): You can
assign a favorite radio station frequency to the D-M button. Anytime you want to
tune to that radio station, you can simply press the D-M button, even if you're
listening to another source at the time. If you are using an FM modulator, this
feature is helpful for storing the modulation frequency.
Subwoofer Output: In addition
to front and rear preamp outputs, the receiver has a non-fading, two-channel
subwoofer output on an 8" pigtail. You can adjust the volume of the subwoofer output from -6dB to
+6dB in 2dB increments. The subwoofer output's low pass filter can be set to
80Hz, 120Hz or 160Hz. In addition, you can set the high pass filter for the
other speakers at 90Hz, 135Hz, 180Hz, 225Hz, or Off.
SBC-SW: The rear speakers can
be used as a substitute subwoofer when no subwoofer is connected. When you
activate the SBC-SW function, the subwoofer level setting and subwoofer low pass
filter settings are activated.
Sound Quality 7 (SQ7): In
addition to the bass and treble adjustments, the unit's Sound Quality 7
functions allow you to set the level and center frequency of each of seven
bands. You can adjust each band by +/-12dB at the following frequencies: 60Hz,
160Hz, 400Hz, 1kHz, 3kHz,
6kHz, and 16kHz. There are six SQ settings:
- SQ-Rock: speedy and
heavy sound; exaggerates bass and treble
- SQ-Pop: wide-ranged and
deep sound; slightly emphasizes bass and treble
- SQ-Vocal: clear sound;
emphasizes middle tone and slightly emphasizes treble
- SQ-Jazz: jazz-specific
deep sound with emphasis on sharpness of high-hat and echo of saxophone
- SQ-Club: club and disco
specific sound: reproduction of realism being in a club
- SQ-Flat: flat frequency
response; no emphasis applied
Mute/Attenuate: This unit
allows you to choose between mute (volume at 0) or 2 levels of attenuation when
you want to decrease the volume instantly. Attenuation Level 1 reduces the
volume by 10 steps, while Attenuation Level 2 reduces the volume by 5 steps. After selecting mute or
the attenuation level in the menu, pressing the Mute button activates the function and the
Mute indicator light glows in the display.
Built-in Amplifier Off: If you
are driving your speakers with external amplifiers, you can turn off the head
unit's internal amp for better sound quality.
Remote Control: The CQ-C7105U
is equipped with a wireless remote control (EUR7641010). The dimensions of the
remote are: W=1.64", H=0.664", L=3.762". The remote is powered by a CR2025
lithium battery (supplied).
Display Note: Pressing and
holding the Source button turns the unit off completely. After the unit has been
turned off, you can use the DISP button to switch the clock display and
face/button illumination on and off. If you leave the clock display and
face/button illumination on, they are "keyed." If you turn the clock display and
face/button illumination off, they only turn on when the unit is turned on
("unit on" operation).
Note: The Source button
stays lit even with the clock display and other button illumination
turned off.
