Touch Sensor Screen: Since
the CQ-HX2083U has a touch sensor screen, a light touch of your fingertip is all
it takes to perform most operations. Large text and button graphics make the
display easy to read and easy to use. There is a different layout for each mode,
allowing the interface to remain clear and understandable.
"Ghost" Blackout Panel:
When the unit is off, the display turns completely off. With the
display illumination off, all you see is a flat, blank, gloss-black front panel,
so it appears as though there isn't a radio in the dash. For added security, you
can detach the panel and take it with you.
Shutter LCD: This
unit uses a shutter LCD to deliver a sharp color display.
HD 3DDM Display
: This unit is equipped with a High
Definition 3-D Dot Matrix Display. The large front panel display features 20,480
dots (pixels), providing music-synched 3D action graphics with crisp detail.
Full-dot LCD technology enables 4-level gradation for smooth, attractive images.
There are 5 graphic patterns to choose from: Formula 1 racing, car race, space
scene, snowboarding, mountain biking, or "All" (a random display of
each pattern). In addition, you can choose a standard 25-band spectrum analyzer
display, or turn off the display altogether. The display's brightness can be set
to one of three settings. The contrast setting can be adjusted to provide the
clearest view from up to 5 vertical angles.
Customizable Display Colors:
You can choose one of the following preset colors for the display: Red, Green,
Blue, Yellow, Purple, or Aqua blue. In addition to the preset colors, you can
create your own custom color by adjusting the Red, Green, and Blue levels. Each
color can be adjusted from 0 to 100. You can choose from 4 different storm
patterns that cycle through all the colors.
receiver is equipped with a 60 watts x 4 (peak) MOSFET amplifier for low
distortion and high power output.
S-HDB (Super High
Definition Bass): This feature
accentuates bass output even at high volumes. This is different from ordinary
loudness controls that often become ineffective when volume is raised. You may
select "BOOM" (strong bass boost), "TIGHT" (moderately
emphasized bass), or "Off".
Sirius Satellite Radio: The
CQ-HX2083U can control an optional Sirius Satellite Radio tuner by Panasonic
(item #133SRT100). In addition to the Sirius tuner, you will need an antenna and
subscription in order to receive Sirius Satellite Radio programming.
V: The tuner
is designed to help suppress multi-path distortion and reduce the problem of
radio signal reflections in metropolitan areas. It also features increased
sensitivity for weak signal areas.
MP3/WMA Playback: This
unit can play MP3 and WMA files recorded on CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW discs in
ISO9660 Level 1/Level 2, Apple Extension to ISO9660, Joliet, and Romeo formats.
Each disc should have a maximum of 8 trees, 255 folders, and 999 files. Each
folder can have a maximum of 255 files.
Outputs: In addition to the 5V
front and rear preamp outputs, this unit has a set of 5V subwoofer preamp
outputs. The subwoofer preamp outputs have a selectable low-pass crossover that
can be set to 80Hz or 120Hz. Additionally, the subwoofer
volume level is adjustable from -6dB to +6dB in 2dB increments.
A set of female RCA jacks is provided to allow the
connection of a portable audio source. Just connect your portable cassette, MD
or MP3 player to this unit, and you can listen to the audio from the portable
player through the speakers in your mobile audio system. The
jacks are on a 6" long pigtail attached to the back of the unit.
Security Indicator: When
the face is removed, a red LED blinks on the front panel of the radio. The
security indicator can be deactivated.
This unit can control
compatible 6-disc and 8-disc Panasonic CD changers.
Changer Control: Using
the optional CA-CD55 dual changer adapter, you can control two compatible
Panasonic changers with this head unit.
When the Display Setting has been set to clock, pressing and holding
the source section on the display turns off audio output, but the clock display
and display illumination remain on. When the Display Setting has not been set to
clock, pressing and holding the source section of
the display turns the unit off completely. This
unit's clock is "keyed" only when the Display Setting has been set to
