Features
Add-on Handset: The KX-TGA421 cordless handset is an add-on accessory for select Panasonic cordless phone systems. It is compatible with Panasonic KX-TG4221-series digital cordless phones. It is not a stand-alone phone. It must first be registered to the base unit of the cordless phone system before it can be used.
DECT 6.0 Plus: The Panasonic KX-TGA421 uses DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) 6.0 Plus technology, which lets you move freely around your home with long range and clear sound. Operating in the 1.9 GHz frequency range (1.92 GHz to 1.93 GHz), your phone will not conflict with other wireless devices such as computer routers, wireless keyboards, microwave ovens and other common household devices.
Handset Speakerphone: The cordless handset can double as a speakerphone for hands-free conversations. You can choose from six volume settings for the speakerphone.
Handset LCD: The cordless handset features a bright backlit 1.4" LCD screen. The display will show lots of information, including Caller ID info, battery strength, Caller List, Phone Book, plus the Feature Menu.
Soft Keys: Located below the LCD screen, three soft keys are provided for selecting functions displayed directly above the keys. Functions displayed above the keys will change depending upon the state of use.
Ringer Options: You can select one of six ringer volume settings or Off for the cordless handset. In addition, the handset has five ring tones and five ring melodies to choose from.
Caller ID: This unit is compatible with Caller ID services offered by your telephone company. If you subscribe to Caller ID, the caller's name and phone number will be displayed and recorded in the handset's Caller List.
Call Waiting Caller ID: If you subscribe to both Call Waiting and Caller ID, when talking on the phone as another call comes in, the second caller's name and phone number will be displayed.
Caller List: The unit can record information for up to 50 different callers and store this information in the Caller List, including calls you missed. You can call back any number in the caller list. Once a number is in the Caller List, it can be manually or automatically edited (to add or remove area codes or prefixes), saved in the Phone Book, or deleted.
Shared Phone Book: You can store up to 50 names and phone numbers into the shared Phone Book. Any handset registered to the base unit can use the shared phonebook, however only one person can access the shared phonebook at a time. The directory names are sorted alphabetically. You can enter names up to 16 characters, and enter phone numbers up to 24 digits. A pause can be entered in the phone number if required for dialing. Each pause is stored as one digit, and the pause is approximately 3.5 seconds.
Redial List: You can review a list of the last five numbers dialed, edit them if necessary, then call any of those numbers.
Call Transfer/Intercom: If you have more than one handset registered to the phone, calls can be transferred from one handset to another handset. You can also set-up a 2-way conversation between two handsets (intercom).
Conference Calls: Up to 2 handsets can have a conference call with an outside party.
Battery Information: The handset comes with two "AAA" rechargeable Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) batteries. A Ni-MH battery doesn't develop the "memory" effect like many Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cad) rechargeable batteries.
- Initial Charge Time: 7 hours
- Battery Talk Time: up to 10 hours continuous
- Battery Standby Time: up to 6 days
Wall Mounting: The charger can be wall-mounted using the integrated slots.
