Whether you're recording HD movies or action-stopping stills, Panasonic's 14-140mm lens will let you capture it all with crystal clarity. Its broad 10X optical zoom range gives you versatile wide-angle-to-telephoto shooting for up-close-and-personal shots of subjects near and far. Zoom in for a game-winning slide into home plate, then zoom way out to capture the reaction of the crowd in the stands. This lens's fast, silent focusing motor keeps noise to a minimum for better video soundtracks. Plus, it has built-in optical image stabilization, so your pictures remain crisply detailed even when your hand is a little shaky or the lighting isn't perfect.

This compact lens was developed for cameras using the Micro Four Thirds standard, such as the Panasonic DMC-GF2.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a maximum versatility addition to my system: I am preparing for some international travel this coming summer, and will be using my Panasonic Lumix G, m4/3 system. I already have the 14-45, 45-200, a Sigma "macro" lens, a Nikkor 500 mirror lens, and several nice Leica M lenses. For this trip I wanted to keep my photo gear to a minimum without sacrificing either performance or versatility. I did some research and decided, at least in theory, the 14-140 Panasonic zoom would be the perfect compliment to my 7-14 Panasonic super wide. These two will cover the vast majority of my anticipated requirements for architectural antiquities, scenic and group photos. My initial test shoots confirm that Panasonic has once again built a great piece of optics for the micro 4/3 system. The size, weight, and most importantly the optical performance, are all excellent. I also want to note Crutchfield's amazing performance delivering my purchase in less than 48 hours. Wow!

Pros: Size, weight, and very fine optical performance over a 20:1 zoom range!

Cons: I have found nothing negative to even mention about the product.

Product Research

Overview: The Panasonic H-VS014140 is a Lumix G Vario HD 14-140mm F4.0-5.8 ASPH/Mega O.I.S. zoom lens for Panasonic Lumix G-series cameras. The 35mm equivalent focal length is 28-280mm. This 10x zoom lens features two ED lenses and 4 aspherical lenses to give you high-contrast, high-resolution images across the entire zoom range. With an extremely fast, accurate, and virtually silent auto focus system, the lens is ideal for shooting HD movies. It has a Micro Four Thirds mount, and comes with a vinyl lens pouch.

Mega O.I.S.: The lens features Mega O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), a system which provides accurate compensation for even tiny amounts of hand shake. Unlike image stabilizing systems that are built into the camera, Mega O.I.S. allows you to check the compensation effect directly through the live viewfinder or on the LCD. The compensation effect is also carefully matched to each lens. You can turn the Mega O.I.S. on or off with the switch located on the barrel of the lens.

Lens Hood: A bayonet-type lens hood is provided with the lens. The lens hood prevents stray light from entering the lens, which can be harmful to the picture. When not in use, the lens hood can be inverted and stored on the lens. The lens hood adds approximately 1-5/8" to the length of the lens.

Note: Using the camera's built-in flash with the lens hood in place can cause shadows to appear on the image.

Optional Filters: The lens has a 62mm mounting thread on the front of lens for attaching screw-on type filters.
