The Rosen backup camera will allow you to see what is behind your vehicle on the Rosen navigation-multimedia head unit's integrated LCD monitor.

Everyone needs a backup camera

Written By David, Cookeville, TN on Wednesday, September 04, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Giving this 4 stars only because I recently replaced this Rosen camera model I purchased a year ago. Apparently the short cable attached to my camera became defective last week after using it for about 10 months, and that caused a 'no signal' to become a problem. However, Crutchfield sent me a replacement, and all is well again. This is a professional looking camera, once installed. I have a Dodge Durango, and the cable reaches all the way from the back to the front. I had to snake it using the Bojo pry tools under various panels and trim as the other reviews noted. But it's well worth the money savings and effort with a little patience. When I did the original install I had to install a 'relay' in order to get power to the camera. So overall, installing backup cameras can involve multiple steps, but it is definitely worth it in the long run. And you can count on Crutchfield if you have a problem.
Professional looking install, and outstanding quality
Recently had to replace my camera due to a defective cable

Nice Camera

Written By Bob D, MA on Thursday, May 03, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I've had two different cameras with the same Rosen Nav system, one a Boyo in a previous truck and now this Rosen camera in my new 2012 Tahoe. I must say that the Rosen camera appears much clearer and has a better picture than the previous truck's camera.

I wanted the camera install and Nav system to look as close to factory as possible, which is why I went with the Rosen Nav unit to begin with. The camera was a very difficult install, but I did it myself and took my time. If I wanted to just mount it anywhere, it would have been pretty easy, but on the Tahoes to make it look factory, you have to remove a lot of the internal liftgate components as well as the exterior applique (which the camera mounts to). In the end I'm happy with this. Routing the cable wasn't too bad and you also need to tap into the reverse wire under the dash. I like the blue lines on the picture for guidance.

Again, great camera, but a factory look install on my particular vehicle was quite involved to ensure nothing broke or leaks, etc.
Great Picture Interfaces perfectly via the PIN connection to my Rosen Nav
Fairly involved install on the Tahoe Liftgate to get factory look

Rosen DP-1068

Written By dougsatx, san antonio,tx on Tuesday, February 07, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
The camera is crystal clear during the day. At night, in pitch black with only the reverse lights to illuminate, there is significant pixelation, however I am able to make out any objects that would inhibit safely backing up. Parking in lots or where there are street lights, the picture is very clear at night. The blue guide lines on the display are great for assisting to get positioned to meet up with a trailer.

I did the install in my 2008 3/4 ton suburban. hooked directly up to the back of my rosen receiver. Running the wire to the back of the suburban by removing/ tucking wire into the inside of plastic moulding down drivers side of vehicle. The hardest part is removing the tailgate cover and drilling through the sheet metal. There probably is an easier way but I didn't want to see wire sticking out from the glass gaskets or somewhere else that looked sloppy...I aligned the drill hole to access the plastic moulding that would house a factory installed camera. Then drilled another hole where I wanted to mount the camera. Feeding the wire through the holes, mounting the camera, securing the wire, and taping the connection, everything looks reasonably factory installed and functions as such.

A long overdue upgrade!

1 question already asked

How do you mount it? Upright like in the picture on upside down? [ tek00  Dec 30, 2013 ]
3 answers
  • Upside down [ VINCENT D   Dec 30, 2013 ]
  • You can mount it however you want to just so long as the camera is pointing towards the bumper. Most will mount this upside down above the tag but you can do it however it works best for you. [ SHANE   Dec 30, 2013 ]
  • you mount it upside down.(in relation to this picture) the mounting screw plate is on top. [ JOSE   Dec 30, 2013 ]
