You can either do two Single Mono amps to push each subwoofer or you can do a Single two Channel Amp to push the subs.....Either way works!!!!

Q
Will this fit in a 2019 Tacoma?

Good day, I honestly don't know? It's in the trunk of my 2010 C300 Mercedes the trunk in this vehicle is not very large and has pillars on both side narrowing the foot print, but it still fit on the base front of the space, I didn't mount it on the back of the seat because the 5 channel amp took up to much space for a side by side install. So the bottom line it's not a large unit and the height is not bad, it may fit behind the seats?? I had a similar install in my tundra, I would have had it placed under the seat, but I had three amps to hide. The sound is very tight, the cabinet is sturdy the matting around it is nicely attached and I have never had any issues with items tearing it, the grill over the driver is also well made and has not scratched and I through all kinds of stuff in my trunk granted, I'm always conscious of not put metal items on top, but in the real world things don't stay in place as plan, and still no scratches. I recommend the unit drive it with at least 250 watts but I went with 500 and think it was the right choice. It play all type of bass very well right without sounding boomy. Would buy again without reservations, only thought would be the 12 or the top of the line series , but size and power needs would be an issue. Sorry I went on and on. Buy it Crutchfield is fantastic about returns/exchanges or upgrades I did both with the amps and head unit. They were very understanding and helpful. Hope this helps, good luck.

Q
Will the mtx thunder 500rms/1 2ohms. Run this set up?
craig  Dec 13, 2020
1 answer
A
Good day, Craig I'm not sure about the MTX, but my JL Audio rated @ 500 also works fantastic with excellent control and no distortion I have to play hardcore rap music at full volume to have it clip and that is very, very rare, for all other music it never happens and I don't care to listen to music that load. anyway, if I have to it will not disappoint, My friends think it sounds great. I have it in the trunk of my Benz and I do not have any vibration or rattling of the trunk or rear lid. The mesh driver guard works great and has a very good finish no nicks or scratches so far and I've put a lot of hard and course things on top by accident and it hasn't damaged it at all. The downside not small, but not huge either. Produces tight accurate powerful bass, I've had it for a year now and would bye it again w/o hesitation. But consider the 12 it produces more low-end bass with less power, I wanted the W7, but it's a power hog and would need probably a 750 to 1500w amp very tight, and oh my hardcore bass really low. It would with a box take up a large part of my trunk. So to answer your question I'm very happy with the sub/enclosure and it's tight on all types of music from rap, rock, to classical. PS I did not go cheap on any part of the setup from the head unit to component speakers to wiring and installation all top-notch. And I think that also has an influence on the sound and quality and appearance. Hope this helps

Q
Can you wire this to 1 ohms?
slik701  May 20, 2020
2 answers
A
The speaker dictates impedance, so this is a 2 ohm sub, it will present a 2ohm load to an amplifier there is no way to "wire it to 1 ohm". You could wire 2 of these in parallel and together they would be 1 ohm.
jeff  Jun 03, 2020
A
It cannot be wired to 1 ohm. This can only be wired to 2 ohms as it comes factory or wired to 8 ohms

Q
Can you wire this to 1 ohms?

A
The operating manual looks like the TW3 can go to 2 ohms with a single speaker, but can be wired down to 1 ohm in a 2 speaker pair wired in parallel. Being this is a 1 speaker box, you'll be limited to 2 ohms. Source: JL Audio website - 10TW3_MAN.pdf

By itself, I don't think so, according to the JL Audio website, this sub woofer has a dual voice and they are rated at 4 and 8 ohms. When you buy the power wedge it it's already wired for 2 ohms. If you buy two separate woofers as components, You could wire them to 1 ohm. You would need two 4 ohm dual voice coil woofers wired in parallel/parallel to achieve 1 ohm impedance. Search for JL audio subwoofer wiring diagrams online. JL Audio has all the different options for wiring subwoofers conveniently on their website.
david  May 20, 2020

This stealthbox is a 2 ohm load. You would have to wire two in parallel to produce a 1 ohm load.

What amplifier would be good for one of these im thinking jx 500/1D, would this be a good amplifier?
eric  Nov 20, 2018

The JL Audio JX500/1D is the perfect amp to power this speaker. I'm running one on my 2017 F250 and I'm very pleased with the bass it can produce. Having some amp overhead is what you want, in doing so first you are getting the maximum performance out of the speaker and second since the amp is rated at a higher wattage than the speaker in your case, the amp operates nice and cool without overworking it too hard.

Is the grill removable or is it part of the speaker?
jimmy  Dec 05, 2016

The steel mesh grille comes pre mounted on the JL Audio CS110LG-TW3, but you can also manually remove it with a Philip's head screw driver. If you would like to discuss further, feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. I hope that helps!
