JL Audio built their BassWedge CS110-WXv2 enclosure to make car-rattling bass for a reasonable price, without the need for a ton of power. The enclosure's designed to match the 10" subwoofer loaded into it, so you know you'll get every ounce of performance out of this system.
The CS110-WXv2 BassWedge contains one 10" WXv2 subwoofer that handles up to 200 watts RMS, loaded into a specially built sealed enclosure. You'll enjoy punchy, detailed bass without taking up too much room in your vehicle's trunk or cargo area.
JL Audio uses state-of-the-art automated woodworking equipment to fabricate the high-quality MDF enclosure with rugged automotive carpeting, nickel-plated push terminals, and solid internal wiring.

An enclosed subwoofer is a box with a subwoofer already installed. The advantage to buying an enclosed sub is that the manufacturer made the sub, then designed and built the box as a perfect match, so you'll get the best possible performance. Every enclosed sub has a maximum RMS power handling rating, so pair it with an amp with a similar RMS power rating to get the best performance.
I own a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. I already had a Bluetooth Sony Deck with Front / Rear / Sub RCA outputs. I started with a 5-1/4" Focal PS V30 Component Set for the front doors and dash tweeters. I left the factory coaxial speakers in the rear doors. I then purchased this sub, an Alpine MRV-M500 mono amp, and an Alpine MRV-F300 4-channel amp. Install went well. I bolted the JL box down to the body of the WJ Jeep being careful of not fitting wiring / gas tank / etc. I mounted both amps and power distribution blocks under the folding rear seats. I then spent a couple days tuning everything, I am using the crossovers built into the Sony Head Deck since it allows me to feather the High Pass and Low Pass Filters with selectable slopes. I set the gain conservatively on each amp, around 10% below nominal. It is awesome. I couldn't imagine having two 10"s or a 12" back there. I've been listening to classic rock, Indie / Aughts / 90's / 80's / Alt Rock, modern pop (with my fiancee'), Hip Hop, Electronic, and even some metal. It sounds great with all (need to adjust gain off head deck though). It is accurate, clean, loud, responsive, and punchy. I'm a bassist, it sounds like my bass rig is in the Jeep. Listening to music with distorted bass, the distortion goes through the mids with rest through sub. There is no latency, they hit in sync. Anyone who says it doesn't keep up with double kick drums or fast transients doesn't have it setup properly.
Pros: Value, great sound, great build quality, easy to use speaker terminals, fast, responsive, accurate, and looks cool.
Cons: Should come with grill.
Good but not great. Tight natural base
Pros: Price. Size
Always have been happy with Crutchfield. Well packaged, shipped super fast. Very high confidence level when I shop here.
Pros: Compact, great quality. Packaged well.
This is a great subwoofer for the price! I love the box size, because I was able to fit this in my mid-size SUV under the bottom privacy cover with no problem. this box did not take up much space at all. The sub gave me the rich fill in sound that I was looking for enhance my factory system.
Good sound, perfect fit, super easy install!!
Purchased about a month ago, been straight bumpin' since then. The sub is a little expensive compared to others, but it sounds very good. It is only a ten incher, so you won't wow your friends as much as your little brother will with the two twelves in his racecar. Very sturdy build, turned out to be smaller than I had pictured, but There are no words that can describe how perfectly it fit into the trunk of my Prizm. Paired with the SO M-1350 Mono Amp.
Pros: Great Sound, Sturdy, Slick Enclosure, Very Nice Frequency Range.
Cons: None to be listed so far, I am a satisfied customer.
I'm powering this sub with a Apline MRV-F300, bridged, so it's getting around 150watts RMS. I listen to metal mostly, with lots of fast, tight drumming. This sub handles the low bass well, but unfortunately, is too slow for the fast stuff. Hard rock sounds fine, but once you get some fast drumming going, it just kind of "rumbles". It simply lacks any attack. It does go low, and handles deep bass just fine, so if you listen to rap, pop, rock, or electronic, this sub will get the job done. Metal-heads should look elsewhere though.
Pros: Nice, small form factor. Excellent build quality. Deep bass.
Cons: Too slow, no attack. Lacks tight, accurate punchy bass.
Although it's not marine certified, I put this subwoofer in a storage cabinet under a sink in the cockpit of my boat. It's not exposed to water or sun light. I thought about cutting a hole in the bottom of the cabinet and having it downward firing, but I changed my mind. It sounds so good, I don't think I have to cut into the cabinet. Great value!!!
Pros: Great tight and responsive bass. If your looking for a resonating bass, I would look at a ported subwoofer box. I like the hard hitting, but not long lasting bass. This subwoofer rocks the dock.
Cons: I can't think of any.
I don't hesitate giving this product a 5 star review. The enclosure is solid, sound quality is great, and it just looks cool while leaving tons of trunk space open. I surprised my girlfriend by installing this in her BMW X3 while she was out. She is VERY happy with the response this sub is capable of! The enclosure is paired with a Pioneer GM-X822 that is mounted to the back with the speaker facing out. Looks so pretty. Don't forget to pickup the 10" grille (JL Audio SGR-10) to protect your investment! It's extremely easy to install and will save you a heart attack from (hopefully never) finding out something has punctured a hole in your precious bass cannon!
I also called Crutchfield support and spoke with Tim about details on how to install this sub and amp combo. He was very patient and answered all the questions I had, even if they were a little repetitive!
Pros: Punches through the rear seats of an X3 with ease. Clean sounding bass running alongside the factory audio equipment. Arrived in perfect condition.
Cons: No negative qualities apparent.
So I have had this sub woofer for a little under a week. I listen to edm, dubstep, alt rock, indie rock, and some metal. I have it upfiring in the trunk of my 07 Kia Optima. It sounds really good, however, it doesn't hit too hard, which I am kinda disappointed in. I know its only a 10 and it's sealed but i just expected a little more from it. This is also my first subwoofer so It is a good start I guess. Maybe in the future ill get the enclosure with 2 JL 10's.
Pros: looks nice and clean, good build and sound quality
Cons: Wish it would hit a little harder
Easy to install and great range for all the music I listen to
Pros: Built strong sounds great
For the price point this sub sounds great, I would recommend it for a small vehicle for a clean sounding base
Pros: Small size, clean base for small sub
I can't give a one star because the choosing of this Sub enclosure was my choice. And I can't give 5 stars because it doesn't sound as I expected it to. This sub was put into a 2000 Lincoln LS sedan and has a good size trunk. I paired it with a Kenwood Excelon X500-1 300 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)
Pros: Good price and fit. Good Quality and looks sweet.
Cons: Not made for vehicles with large trunks
it's alright. I thought I'd play better than it actually does
Pros: cheap. easy to put in.
Cons: doesn't hold certain bass that good.
Best speakers I ever bought
Pros: Beats all
This sub is just what the doctor ordered. As I've gotten older my need to show off and upset the neighborhood is nonexistent. However I still crave those sub tones to enjoy my music fully. Also my G35 doesn't have much trunk space to work with. I paired it with a RF p300x1 and couldn't be happier with the set-up. This sub punches hard and is very snappy but doesn't drone or rattle. It is very well built and great across all music genre's. I'm very pleased I chose not to go with a ported box/enclosure. Crutchfield service was excellent as expected and I cannot say enough good things about this sub. Thanks
Pros: Excellent pop, response and snap.
Absolutely outstanding product. I'm pushing it with 250w rms with a JVC 800w peak amp. Sounds excellent at low volumes, and doesn't even flinch at maximum, never mind missing a note. Fits perfectly in my Prius C and shakes the mirror. Also looks great, for the 1% that's worth.
Pros: Rises to 250w rms like a champ. Fits in the space, doesn't distort. SQ over SPL, though the SPL is great
Cons: I don't understand the question.
Sounds great with all kinds of music. Pushing 200W RMS with no problems. Single 10" with two front speakers and a 4 channel 400W D Class RF amp.
Pros: High Quality Carpet and Embroidery on Box
Cons: Added metal speaker grill to protect woofer.
Good sounding sub for the price. Works well in my Toyota Tacoma
Pros: Well built box!
Haven't had a sound system in awhile and ive always known about JL and they have good sound quality and didn't want anything crazy so this was recommended by the crutchfield team and matched me with the sound ordinance m1350 amp and sounds amazing exactly what I was looking for and at a very reasonable price. Couldn't be happier with my purchase and highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a good product and great sound.
Pros: Bass hits hard just perfect Perfect price
This a quality product. It is not for booming rattling bass, but it does get loud. This really brings your music to life. Gets really low for a 10 and responds well to fast, intricate music. When I was younger I had louder set-ups, but this has great sound quality. Well beyond kicker. I listen to all music types and have not been disappointed. It will shake your seats, but I imagine the w3 model is much better for that. I have it in the trunk of a 4 door, and get great sound. Blends amazingly with my Polk 6.5 door/ back dash speakers. Using a Kenwood 5 channel 40x4 for inside and 300watts to sub. I am using about 80% of the power.
Exactly what I was looking for. Nice tight bass with an ability to play hip-hop/rap as well.
At under $200, you can't go wrong.
Pros: Quality. Space. Depth of range
This sub is perfect for jazz, blues, classical and some rock. however once you get into music that requires more base such as R&B, rap, etc it starts to show it's weakness.
still for the size, price and build quality you cannot go wrong. overall it exceeded my expectation
Pros: compact size means it fits into my Mini Cooper, easy to connect wiring and a nice clean looking fit and finish. The sound compliments mids and highs of other speakers but will not win any competitions when it comes to deep thumping base (remember this box is not ported so it produces clean but not powerful sound)
Cons: honestly, this is a fantastic value and I don't see very many cons other than Limited volume; I know that my amplifier can produce way more power but this sub is unable to handle it. but that's life. you can't buy a Honda Civic expecting supercar performance
Great sub, paired with Sound Ordnance M1500. I had it in a hatchback where sound quality was noticeably better than in my trunk of my new Acura TSX. Still a great sub but in an open hatchback this sub sounds fantastic.
JL Audio has always been my go to company for subwoofers. For this system though, I needed something simple, small, and ready to install. I was glad to see JL Audio had something to fit my needs. This box is solid, and the sound quality is superb. If you need low cost bass, this is a great option.
Pros: Low cost, sound quality
Great sub woofer with tight engaging bass. Operates well with a minimum of 300 watts of clean power ! A good setup for saving space and getting great sound . Thanks Crutchfield for your great customer service and product support .
This is some great bass! I chose it because it would fit in the back of my jeep and it was on my budget. I have a soft top and it still sounds great and hits the notes hard, if that's what you like. You can also turn the bass down if you just want bass to round out your music, which it does brilliantly as well. My favorite part is how it allows you to actually feel your music without becoming overpowering. It's perfect for adding quality bass to your music, but can still turn it up and shake your seat.
Pros: Sound quality, size, price
I can honestly say that the sound this one Bass Wedge puts out is exactly what I was looking for. I had previously installed new Rockford door speakers in my '00 Blazer but was still needing more low end sound. It is compact, sounds good, and built well. I have had many compliments on the sound produced and they are surprised to see the size and only one 10" sub.
Pros: Sound, size, cost
Very good sound
Pros: Reasonable price very easy to install
Cons: Would like a smaller enclosure
Sounds great, fills in the missing bass from my speakers. Using a Rockford 500x1d to power it and it sounds really good. I'm not trying to provide sounds for hood but with it sitting in the trunk of my sedan it sounds great. Thanks Ziggy, awesome advice
Pros: Great sound Compact Inexpensive Looks good
Bought this to fill the bottom range in a 04 mustang GT vert, tore out the MACH 460 and started from scratch. This Speaker was paired with a 300 watt amp bridged mono. I didn't want a real big thump like a kids car I just wanted to hear the bottom end of music. It will do boom boom but probably is best suited for clean tight bass fans. I used it in my trunk and mounted a piece of diamond plate to it for a nice little amp rack. The sound is just what I wanted and at a great price point.
Pros: Size, portability, JL quality
Cons: none that I can find
Box is perfect size but speaker can't handle much
Nice sub for the price. I purchased the sub based on JL reputation as I have owned them in the past. Not exactly what I was expecting.. the last JL sub I owned was a W3 and it hit much harder. But for the price with the box, this one sounds great. Also, fits nicely in the back of my CRV EX-L. Installed amp and sub through speaker level inputs with factory in-dash nav system. Works great. Great tech support from Crutchfield.
Pros: Space saving, Great price.
Cons: None so far
Great sub for a great price! Love JL subs and this combo is perfect for what I wanted. Medium sized sub in a box that wouldn't take up much space. Fits great in the trunk of my 95 civic. I used an old Alpine amp I had laying around the garage and after some fine tuning, it sounds great.
Pros: Everything you want in an economical package.
Great sub for the price, fits perfect in the trunk of my jeep wrangler. The bass is nice and clean and not to overwhelming
Cons: Price dropped after I bought it
After returning a Sound Ordinance sealed under seat powered subwoofer I bought this instead because I have had experience with JL subwoofers in the past. I installed this into my wife's minivan and WOW. For what this costs the sound is incredible. The bass is nice and tight and very accurate (sealed tends to be so). I have an old Alpine MRP M-200 mono amp pushing 150 watts RMS into this sub using just speaker level inputs and it's perfect. My wife is also extremely satisfied and says she can hear notes in the bass in her music that she never heard before. This thing is also capable of pounding really hard. The bass notes go way down low. I also have a much more expensive ported JL Audio CP108LG-W3v3 in my car and sometimes I prefer the tighter bass from this sealed enclosure over mine. I also went to some car audio shops in my area and auditioned many different manufacturers' subwoofers (some 2X the $$$) and none of them sound as good as JL Audios subwoofers do in an apples to apples comparison.
On a side note do not put a subwoofer like this into the sealed trunk of a sedan and expect great results. These sound best if they are in the same air space as the driver is. I have this in the back of my wife's Mazda 5 and it sounds awesome.
Pros: Deep accurate powerful bass and plays the finest details. Sounds good at low volume and can also pound the doors off your car.
Cons: Doesn't fit under a seat.
I have not had issues with this product. I have purchased a second one for my other car.
I can't believe how hard this sub hits for a single 10" in a small box. I put it in my regular cab Dodge Ram 1500 running off the back channels (bridged with gain set right in the middle) of a Sound Ordnance 4050. It hits the low, lows with very little distortion at only the very highest volumes. People don't hear me coming from a 1/4 mile, but it sounds very clear and loud inside my truck. You can't beat this sub for the price and performance in my opinion.
Pros: Solid bass for very little money
Also running with a Sound Ordinance M2100, and it's the perfect fit for me! Paired with a top of the line Alpine Head Unit and 45w 4 channel amp going to 4 Infinity Kappa 2 Ohm speakers, and my SUV now rocks hard! I'm totally happy with the purchase, and trust me, if I'm not, it goes back! Thank you Crutchfield!!
Pros: Price, quality, and nice bass for the money!
This sub is powered by a S O M2100, and sounds incredible. This configuration was a perfect addition to my '04 Wrangler. Fits in trunk area with room to still put small items. Very pleased with purchase
Pros: Size, sound quality, bass range ( for a 10")
I bought this to for the back of my 2008 Jeep Wrangler after looking at many different subwoofer enclosures and powered subwoofer integrated enclosures. This was ideal for the Jeep, because I could quickly disconnect it and leave it at home for the off-road trips and it hardly consumed any space, which is a premium in the Jeep! I chose to power it with a JL Audio XD500/3 100W x 2 + 300W x 1 @ 2 Ohm Car Amp. I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of the sound and I'm still running the stock head unit. This is my first experience with JL Audio products, great sound and an incredible value. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to fill their vehicle with full, rich sound!
Pros: Small Powerful sound Premium enclosure
I mean what can you not say about this little sub. I put it in my wife's focus paired with 210 watts RMS sound ordinance amp and wow this thing is super powerful for its size and it can hit some deep notes for a sealed enclosure. Its super small and can fit practically anywhere and if you make the speaker cord long enough you can even put it on its face and move it around as your storage needs change...its that versatile.
Pros: Awesome bass for a 10" sealed woofer!
For being so cheap, it certainly does get the job done. If you're on a budget, definitely look into this sub! I have it in an Expedition and I'm only putting 175 watts into it, and it still makes the rear view mirror and seats vibrate and bump pretty nicely.
Pros: Sound quality, size
Great sub in a relatively small box and at a nice price
When i first bought this sub, i was not sure if i would get the bass i was looking for. I was DEFINITELY WRONG. This was a great price sub for my budget and it hits the highs, lows and mids fantastically. The sub doesnt lack on power either. I paired this sub with a 250W Rockford Fosgate amp, and the sound is indescribable. If your looking for a great sub for a decent price, this is your sub.
Pros: Sound quality, Price, Power
Cons: hmmmm none.
I have been trying to get some bass in my convertible. This speaker, and my fosgate 300 watt amp, sound fantastic. Takes very little trunk space
Pros: good price, great looking box, perfect size for my small trunk
Very solid sub. I recently purchased for my 2011 Wrangler. I am very impressed with the bass quality and output. I am using a S/O M2100 to power it, and it does a great job! I typically listen to country music, and it seems to be the perfect sub for it. Hard hitting, tight, and much cleaner sounding that a 12" sub in my opinion.
Pros: Fits nicely in my Jeep, which has limited space. Cost effective when you consider the very cool enclosure it is already installed in.
Scratch & Dent items may be missing non-essential accessories. In some cases the manufacturer's accessories have been replaced with generic equivalents.

ITs not strong enough to push bass through your better off getting the slim line kicker subs they really hit hatd and clean under the seats [ JUSTIN May 26, 2015 ]
this box is perfect for small spaces so 7x6 should be fine. My mustang trunk is smaller than that. [ CHRISTOPHER May 11, 2015 ]
Forget blowing up the amp you're more likely to blow up the sub it's only rated for 200w rms. [ Steven Jul 04, 2014 ]
It is still in the box. Sorry I couldn't help. [ Peaches Jul 03, 2014 ]

I ran the sub on its back for about 5 months when I had my truck, it did not seem to have any negative effect on it. Hope this helps [ ROBERT M Jul 02, 2014 ]
Yes it can. I would play with the direction and which way it faces to see what sounds best. I have mine firing towards the back of the car so it fills the whole car nicely. I have a 2005 Scion tC. [ RYAN Jul 02, 2014 ]
I have mine laying on its back in the trunk of my Mustang and it sounds great! [ CHRISTOPHER Jul 02, 2014 ]
Daniel, I'm not sure about upside down it might restrict the movement of the woofer. LD. [ LILTON May 31, 2014 ]

If you mount a 2x4 on each side. [ Randy May 23, 2014 ]
It can be turned upside down but you would have to put some rubber feet or something on the raised part of the box to raise it up a little. It was not designed to face down but it can be done. Otherwise the woofer would touch the surface as it expands and might damage the speaker. Otherwise this box sounds Great would definitely purchase again. [ CHRISTOPHER May 23, 2014 ]
