The 12WXv2 12" sub works great in both sealed and ported enclosures, utilizing a polypropylene cone with a foam surround for powerful, reliable bass reproduction. The rear gasket provides improved sealing in your enclosure, while the heavy-duty 4-ohm voice coil resists breakdown under extreme conditions. The customizable trim ring lets you add a personalized look to your setup.

Enclosure Compatibility

Features

Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA): DMA is a JL Audio proprietary method of improving dynamic motor behavior. As a result of DMA optimization, the woofer's motor remains linear in motor force over a long excursion range, and maintains a stable fixed magnetic field in the gap over a wide power range. The result is reduced distortion, faithfully reproduced transients, and tight, clean, articulate bass.

Elevated Frame Cooling: The elevated frame design of the 12WXv2 delivers cool air through slots directly above the top-plate to the voice coil. This not only enhances power handling, but also sound quality by minimizing dynamic parameter shifts and power compression.

Rear Gasket: The woofer has an integrated foam rear gasket which provides an optimal seal when installing into the enclosure.

Enclosure Compatibility

Sealed Box Volume: JL Audio recommends a 1-3/8 cubic foot sealed box. A diagram is provided in the owner's manual for a sealed box with external dimensions of 16" W x 19" H x 11-3/4" D, assuming 3/4" thick material. (If using 5/8" thick materials, you should subtract 1/4" from each dimension.)

Ported Box Volume: JL Audio recommends a 1-3/4 cubic foot ported box. A diagram is provided in the owner's manual for a ported box with external dimensions of 18-1/5" W x 14-3/4" H x 16-1/2" D, assuming 3/4" thick material. (If using 5/8" thick materials, you should subtract 1/4" from each dimension.) A single 4" diameter x 18-3/4" long port is recommended, resulting in a tuning frequency of 30 Hz.

At manufacture website says this sub is for an amp 200w RMS Max, after that warranty is void, but my amp is 230w RMS so... is there any problem if i get one of these for my amp? do i need to have any precautions? should I pick other sub? thanks for help

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best sub for your amp I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the sub models and help you make the best choice for your system.

Q
For a fourth order bandpass would I be able to use the same specs as the ported enclosure?

The basic answer to your question is yes. The port dimensions are the same for both boxes BUT your not gonna want to tune the 4th order box as low as a ported enclosure due to the response curve being broader. Also keep in mind the sealed side of the enclosure affects the tuning also.

A 4th order bandpass acts like a ported enclosure but i amnot sure what speaker parameters a box design uses for a 4th order. Google it.
