JL Audio uses state-of-the-art automated woodworking equipment to fabricate the high-quality MDF enclosure with rugged automotive carpeting, a steel-mesh grille, 5-way binding posts, and solid internal wiring. The enclosure and subwoofer are constructed at the manufacturing facility in Florida to ensure that you get the bass that you expect from JL Audio.

Small enclosure, big sound

The specially designed, slot-ported enclosure measures just over 5 inches thick, so it'll fit just about anywhere. Its flared slot-port design cuts down on air turbulence and keeps your bass rich and clear. Product Research

Features

Overview: The ACP110LG-TW1 MicroSub+ is a compact powered subwoofer, useful in vehicles with limited space. The ported enclosure is loaded with one 10TW1-0.25 10" low impedance subwoofer (0.25Ω) and a 400 watt RMS class-D amplifier. The amp uses JL Audio's exclusive DCD amplifier technology, combining direct power conversion (no conventional switching power supply) with an ultra-high current output section. The result is an efficient design (91-94%) with very little heat generated.

Enclosure Design: The enclosure features MDF (medium-density fiberboard), constructed using CNC woodworking equipment, and covered with high-grade automotive carpeting. The driver is protected by a black steel-mesh grille. The port and amplifier panel are both on the same side of the enclosure.

Flared Port: The enclosure has a side-firing flared slot-port. The flared slot-port design minimizes turbulence and improves fidelity. The port is approximately 2-1/4" x 5-3/8" at the opening.

Power/Ground Plug: The power, ground, and remote turn-on wires attach to a removable terminal block; easily unplugged so the subwoofer can be removed when you need more storage space. Each terminal is a screw clamp that will accept up to 8 gauge wire (minimum 8 gauge power and ground recommend).

Audio Inputs: The amplifier section will accept either a line level (RCA) or speaker level signal. A 12" speaker level input harness is included.

Remote Level Control: An optional RBC-1 wired Remote Bass Control (item number 136RBC1, sold separately) allows bass level adjustment from the front of your vehicle.

Controls:

  • Input Sensitivity: rotary control; variable from 70 mV to 1.4 V for the RCA inputs and 280 mV to 5.4 V for the speaker level inputs
  • Turn-On Mode: three position switch:
    • REM: amp turns on when +12 volts DC is applied to the remote terminal
    • DC: the amp turns on when a DC offset voltage is detected on the speaker level inputs
    • Signal: the amp turns on when an audio signal is detected on the speaker level inputs, turns off after 30 seconds without an input signal
  • Crossover: rotary control; the crossover point is continuously variable from 50 Hz to 200 Hz; the slope is 12 dB/octave and the low-pass crossover is always engaged
  • Polarity: two position switch; allows you to reverse the phase of the subwoofer (0°, 180°)

Protection Circuit: The amp is equipped with thermal protection circuit; it will shut down if it overheats.

Dimensions:

  • Width: 21" (21-1/4" including wiring)
  • Height: 13-1/2"
  • Depth: 6-5/8" (7-3/8" including grille)

Q
Will it fit underneath the back seat of a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
hecthor  Mar 01, 2023
1 answer
A
Unfortunately, we do not currently have the measurements for the space under the rear seats in your vehicle. The measurements for this enclosure are 21"W x 13-1/2"H x 6-5/8"D. It may be necessary to check these measurements with your vehicle at home.

Q
Will this fit in a Ram crew cab somewhere?
nick  May 11, 2022
2 answers
A
Hi Nick, I doubt that it'll fit. I bought this subwoofer for my 2001 dodge ram 1500 thinking it would fit underneath the back seats but it didn't. So we ended up installing it on my brother's 2002 dodge ram 1500 single cab. Hope this give you an idea.

Q
Will I need a line output converter if Iâ??m using the factory stereo? Will this be able to sit under the seat of a 19 Silverado crew cab with protruding or pushing the seat up
james  Sep 12, 2021
2 answers
A
You do not need a line output converter to use the stock radio. Not sure about how it will fit in your truck. Im jot sure if it will fit under the seat or not. I would measure under the seat and compare the measurements of the sub box which are on Crutchfield's website
douglas  Sep 12, 2021
A
This does have built in line level inputs with included pigtail. I would measure the dimensions beneath your seat and compare with manufacturers schematic for proper fitment.

Q
Can you make it sealed instead of ported because i heard it lasts longer with a guard?
jadon  Jun 10, 2021

A
I would contact the manufacture but it did not come with anything to seal the port.
ernest  Jun 25, 2021
A
The sealed version can be found here: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13693334/JL-Audio-ACS110LG-TW1.html?tp=114
thomas  Jun 25, 2021 (Staff)
A
Being sealed or ported has nothing to do with lasting longer, it makes the sound of the bass different. Crutchfield sells both. And JL AUDIO makes great audio equipment.
jason  Jun 25, 2021
Q
Can I connect this without connecting it to the car battery?
mark  Jun 01, 2021
1 answer
A
No, it's a self powered sub. It needs a power source
jason  Jun 25, 2021

Q
Hooking up 2 units. I have one box installed and I love it but I was thinking of cranking it up by adding a second one. Is that possible?
ryan  May 14, 2021
1 answer
A
It would be no different than connecting two separate amplifiers. You or your installer need to have the proper gauge power and ground wire with appropriate fuse and you will be off to the races.
reggie  May 14, 2021
Q
Instead of laying the box down with woofer pointing up, would it sound OK if the box was against a back wall standing up horizontal? With the woofer pointing outward toward front of car.

A
Yes. That's how I have it set up.
nelson  Apr 17, 2021
A
I have it standing up horizontal in ford Ranger and it sounds great and the port on the side
matthew  Apr 17, 2021
A
Well I can tell you from my personal experience, I have the subwoofer facing towards right side of my car, and the port firing against the back of the rear seats. Mind you I have a hatchback, and that kinda gave me limited options. The thing that you have to remember is that any speaker creates sound waves, and when they are blocked by a panel, or the back of a seat for example, the sound waves will radiate/bounce back towards the subwoofer. As we all know sound waves travel and expand as they get farther away from the speaker. So having it face away from a panel will ultimately slow the subwoofers sound waves in this case, to travel and radiate a little better. Laying it with the subwoofer facing upwards towards the roof, will allow a lot of sound wave radiation to flow the car. Think of it as a home subwoofer that is downward firing, the sound waves travel down and outward creating a more spacious less noticeable direction from where the bass is coming from.
brandon  Apr 17, 2021
A
Absolutely. This thing rocks!
ernest  Apr 17, 2021
A
always have to point the subwoofer port to the back of the vehicle within 2 inches from the back for the best sound ...you only want air to move one direction. port will push air and bounce off the back and all will move forward for the best punch and hard hitting bass. I have the sealed and ported 12 like this and the ported one has to be faced like that for the best sound , cheers

Q
Using the rbc on these(powered subs)will it control it from no volume to full volume?
danimal  Oct 25, 2019
1 answer
A
Hi Dan, thank you for your question, The RBC-1 remote control, converts the amp's selectable bass boost (0 or 6 dB) to a variable boost (0 to 12 dB). You will only have full control from Full Mute to Full Volume, if you're using the RBC-1 with the RD Series and JX-Series mono amps.

Yes, I used 8 ga wire for mine. I actually used the crutchfield 8 ga kit. The details section also suggests 8 as well. Good luck!

No it's not that compact.
jason  Jun 25, 2021

We do not have the available space dimensions under the passenger's seat in your vehicle. We do provide the dimensions of the enclosure (21"W x 13-1/2"H x 6-5/8"D) which you can use to cross-reference against the space you find there.

Does this item have gain controls available?
john  Nov 07, 2017

Yes, there is an easily accessible gain control on the side panel.
kanoa  Nov 07, 2017
A
Yes, it has gain control, low pass filter on the side of the box. I highly recommend purchasing the optional JL audio level control that allows you to control the sub level from the drivers seat if you are adding it to a factory system.

Q
Will this fit behind the rear seat in a 2017 Ford f350 supercrew? I measured and it looks like it will. Has anyone actually tried it?
whit  Mar 06, 2017
2 answers
A
The subwoofer has specs available. If your measurements are bigger than the sub then it should fit. If you're concerned that it won't , then you may want to consider one that can fit underneath your seat.
jason  Jun 25, 2021
A
I'm afraid we don't have enough information available on your 2017 F-350 at this time to fully determine fit with the JL Audio ACP110LG-TW1 behind the rear seats; however the sub itself measures 21"W x 13-1/2"H x 6-5/8"D (7-3/8" D including grille). If you don't receive any customer replies from other '17 F-350 owners, please feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss further.

No it's bigger than that area.
paul  Feb 20, 2017

I doubt it unless you have some kind of modified seat bracket. I have one under the back bench seat in my silverado. The box barely fits on one side.
mike  Feb 19, 2017
