JL Audio puts months of research and design into each Stealthbox® custom-fit subwoofer to ensure not only that it fits, but that it sounds better than any other custom enclosed system. First, JL Audio determines the ideal shape and mounting location for each enclosure, so that it looks like an original part of the vehicle it's designed for. Next, they mount each high-performance subwoofer so it delivers amazing firepower from within its unique enclosure, without sacrificing clarity or musical depth.

The fiberglass enclosure offers superior rigidity while allowing more interior volume, so the sub can turn out louder, deeper bass. JL Audio craftsmen then laminate, grind, join, and finish each Stealthbox® by hand. The end result: full-bodied, distortion-free bass from an impressively stealthy enclosure.

This Stealthbox® enclosure contains one 10" 10TW3-D4 subwoofer, and installs in the storage pocket behind the rear seat on the passenger side in 2012-up Toyota Tacoma Double Cab models. This Stealthbox® also includes a small recess on the front where a compact amp can be mounted. Installation notes: JL Audio has rated the difficulty of this Stealthbox installation as low to medium. You should be able to install this enclosure if you have any experience with car audio. Toyota Tacoma pickups in these years were produced with two styles of rear panels. This Stealthbox® fits rear panels with an angled rib as shown in the installed photo (to the left of the subwoofer). For vehicles with a rear panel without an angled rib, you'll want to consider this Stealthbox®.

Overview: JL Audio's SB-T-TACDC12/10TW3 Stealthbox has been specifically designed to fit select 2012 - 2015 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab trucks. It features a single 10" 10TW3-D4 subwoofer in a custom sealed enclosure that mounts behind the passenger rear seat.

Subwoofers: The JL Audio Stealthbox's 10" 10TW3-D4 subwoofer offers a powerful combination of a shallow mounting depth and high excursion capability, producing deep powerful bass from a small enclosure. The dual 4 ohm voice-coil subwoofer is wired for a 2 ohm output to a single set of terminals, and is capable of handling up to 400 watts RMS. A black steel mesh grill is included for protecting the subwoofer.

Enclosure: The Stealthbox enclosure is made from fiberglass coated in black carpet and is designed to mount inside the storage pocket behind the passenger side rear seat.

Note: This Stealthbox fits rear panels with an angled rib (see photos). For vehicles with a rear panel without an angled rib, use this model Stealthbox.

does the amp come with the box?

The box comes with the subwoofer, amplifier sold separately. Note, the box is the best choice for Tacoma DC, however my amp still sticks out a bit too far so the back seat will not latch properly. I usually leave mine down unless I have a passenger. Hope this helps!

Negative. You must provide your own amp I personally am running a JL JX500/1D for this setup it's the perfect size. Hope this helps

It will need wired in from the head unit with an amp for it to work. There are no factory connections build in the Tacoma where it mounts.

The enclosure has screw down speaker terminal connections built in. all you need to do is to run speaker wire from your amplifier to the enclosure and use the built in screw down clamps.

A few slight mods to the truck to get it to fit... nothing complicated... Plus, It most definitely needs an amp to drive it. (hot wire, ground, remote turn on, rca cables and HiLow adapter installed... an all day project for a doit yourself 'er.... or hand everything you need to a local stereo shop and probably pay 199 dollars to get it all done. Good luck... (the box sounded excellent btw)

This is just the subwoofer and enclosure? The MTX is an equal value with subwoofer, enclosure and built in amplifier. If any one have images of the MTX installed in there Tacoma please submit them. Looking forward in buying one.

This is a question and answer: I wanted to know the size of the amp pocket and called JL Audio. It's 11.5" wide (he didn't say how tall). He specifically called out the XD700/5 and XD500/3 amps and said they fit great. To submit this question I had to end it with a question?

When I ordered, it said it was in stock... The amp I was considering was the XD600/1 but I don't want to constantly over-power the sub...

I have the 500 watt jl amp but the reviews on the mix thunder 500 for 139 was a good buy. I didn't buy because didn't offer a hookup for a base knob
