About the JL Audio C5-525cw
If you're looking to add bass to your ride without sacrificing trunk space, here's a great solution. Pair two of these JL Audio C5-525cw woofers with the right components for fatter, fuller guitar and bass in your soundstage.
JL Audio built this 5-1/4" woofer for extended cone travel so it'll move more air, putting more oomph in your music when the rhythm section kicks in. This C5 Series woofer uses the same patented cooling technology developed for the ZR Series speakers, so it'll play with a wide dynamic range at all volumes.
If you've already got a sub in the back, adding two of these woofers is great for adding some midbass punch in your interior. Even better, install JL Audio's C5-525 5-1/4" component system up front, then use two of these matched woofers in the rear to reinforce midrange and upper bass performance while keeping your soundstage right up front.

Features
Cast Alloy Baskets: The Evolution C5 woofers feature cast alloy woofer baskets and incorporate JL Audio's patented Elevated Frame cooling system. This cooling technology, also found on the flagship ZR component systems and W7 and W6v2 subwoofers, allows air to flow directly across the top plate and onto the voice coil windings to greatly improve linearity at all listening levels.
Motor Structure: The DMA (Dynamic Motor Analysis)-optimized motor structure achieves outstanding linearity.
Woofer Cones: The cone and suspension elements were designed and manufactured by the world-famous Dr. Kurt Müller & Co of Germany. The speakers feature low-mass, mineral-filled polypropylene cones with butyl rubber surrounds. The cone and surround are inherently well damped to deliver an uncolored, neutral bass without any coloration. The speakers are also equipped with symmetrical-roll, hybrid-weave spiders.

I bought this because I was replacing my factory 6x9 sub with a quality product that will last. It plays well but you will need an amplifier with your factory head unit to get the best out. Overall it does the job.
