Some factory radios put out a voltage level that's too low to turn on JL Audio's CleanSweep sound processor. This JL Audio CL-LSA adapter remedies that problem by sensing when the factory radio is turned on, and then triggering the Clean Sweep.

Product Highlights:

  • automatic voltage-sensing trigger for use with the CleanSweep
  • allows the CleanSweep to work with low-voltage factory radios
  • warranty: 1 year
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Features

Overview: The JL Audio CL-LSA Load-Sensing Adapter is designed to present an appropriate impedance load to OEM headunit or amplifier outputs that employ "load-sensing startup protection" when used with JL Audio's CL441dsp CleanSweep OEM Audio Interface. When an OEM amplifier or headunit employs this type of protection, it checks the impedance of the connected load when the unit is powered up (expecting a speaker) and mutes its amplifier outputs if a load outside of a predicted range is detected. The CL441dsp's input impedance is outside of the range expected by some of these types of systems and can cause the OEM headunit or amplifier to mute. When the CL-LSA is inserted inline with the CleanSweep OEM Audio Interface's inputs, it presents a safe and appropriate load to your OEM component and corrects the muting behavior.

Worked

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a 2014 F150 with the Sony Premium sound. I connected an LC8I as my LOC. I was having issues with the front right signal from the stock amp causing major heat to an aftermarket tweeter. I read and found that if the stock amp signals don't see a load they will shut off. In my case it was causing a very bad signal to be sent to the LC8I.

Through research I found this item that will show a load to whatever it is connected to. I connected it in-between my stock amp and the LC8I and I corrected the signal problem I was having. The JL cleansweep CL SSI will do the same but I had an LC8I already and this part was less than $15 instead of $109.

Pros: Worked for my specific issue.

Cons: Wires are a tad small.

In addition, use the short end as your input from stock and the longer end for output to LOC. [ BRIAN  Dec 01, 2014 ]
I have the Sony system. I did cut both connectors off. I used a wire schematic for my system I found online (I only assume the schematic was correct). I just used the darker colors for the cl-lsa as negative and lighter as positive, doesn't really matter just keep negative to negative and positive to positive. I connected to the stock speaker wires after the stock amp through the cl-lsa to a audio control lc-8. I did not use the sub outputs from stock, only highs, mids and rear. Rear signal for subs. As I think I mentioned in a review that I only used this item to give my stock amp a load as it needs one to work properly. Hope this helps [ BRIAN  Dec 01, 2014 ]
Hey Steven. I used this with the JL audio clean sweep. The clean sweep is an OEM interface so you splice all the same wires as a head unit. There is no need to cut wires with this harness. You can use the clamp connectors which clamp the wire you need to splice into and the wire you are splicing with. Bu the way everything you are connecting to is color coded. Hope this helps. Thanks. Hi Steven, I never had to connect this to the F-150 because it is built into the JL Audio CL-SSI Summing Interface. You would only need this if you are connecting it to the CL441dsp by itself but I opted to go with the summing device as well which I think was well worth the extra money. Sorry I couldn't help you. I have both the CL441dsp and the CL-SSI units installed and a JL Audio 13" Sub. [ MIKE  Nov 30, 2014 ]
I paid for pro install, not sure of details... Sorry... [ CALVIN  Nov 30, 2014 ]
