JL Audio's J2 amplifiers will electrify you with strong performance at an affordable price, as these high-powered amps transform your system with their superb sound quality. Oversized output transistors, extra-quiet input circuitry, and high-tech power supplies deliver strong, stable output and reliable performance. These amps are overbuilt and underrated, so you'll get the maximum clean power you'd expect from JL Audio.

The J2 360.2 2-channel amp delivers 110 watts RMS per channel to your speaker system, a great match for a high-quality set of component speakers — or you can switch over to mono mode to send 360 watts RMS to a sub. You can use the frequency filters and bass boost to tune your amp's sound to match your speaker system perfectly. Preamp outputs send the signal to a second amp in your system, so you don't have to run a second set of patch cables from your receiver.

My system has plenty of power. Who needs an amp?

You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.

This amp is awesome, The amp is pushing two 12"s and it sounds great, it is so loud, i only have the amp turned up halfway. Its so loud it rattles my truck and rattled my rear-view mirror off the windshield. I'm glad i got this amp. If i could go any higher then 5 stars i would. YOU WILL NOT BE LET DOWN BY THIS AMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this amp to replace a mono amp i had been running two 10inch subs off of. At first i was a little dissapointed in the lack of volume i was getting from the amp. I wasn't too bummed because it was so cheap but! Then I read the manual and played with the tuning. My subs hit harder than they ever have before, and I am confident that i'm not overloading like i was on the old Mono amp.

There are a few adjustments that JAudio recommended for people running subs off it and after trying those out i had to turn the amp down because they were bumping so loud! Its nice to know that my system can go that loud and that i'm not overworking the amp.

For my setup, this amp is perfect.

Top quality construction, no fuss features, and solid performer.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Though this series of JL Audio amps may not have all the bells and whistles as their higher end line, it does offer quite a nice compromise in that it's a solid performer with no quality shortcuts. I've had this amp for about a month now and it's running a pair of Apline's 6.5" Type-R components (front) and it's doing quite well at that job. I've got another two older model Apline amps running the rear components and subs and will be replacing both of those with amps from this same line of JL Audio in the near future.

Cant go wrong with this amp!!

I just installed this amp to run run my set of 12" JL W1V2 subs and it is abolutely amazing!! My weakest link in my stereo system WAS my 1,000 watt Sony Xplod amp which I sold to buy this one, and Im so glad I did! Im running it bridged to get the full 360 watts RMS @ 4 ohms and it's pushing my subs way louder, with such better sound quility than that piece of crap Sony Xplod ever could!! It gets a little warm cause Im running to the max, but not so warm that it's alarming at all. This amp also consumes less power from my 03 Galant's electrical system!! Do yourself a favor if you are looking for an amp in the 1,000 watt catergory and get this because it will outperform ANY amp in this range!! My 03 Galant only has a 85 amp alternator and it doesn't make my lights dim on my car unlike the Xplod amp did!! Remember that the cheap becomes expensive, so dont end up getting something thats going to sound terrible and strain your electrical system just to save a few bucks. Do it right and buy the best, which is hands down, JL AUDIO!!!!

Just the right price - Just the right power!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great little amp. Pushing 1, 12" BA G2 and it pounds. It's half the size of the amp I was previously using, looks great, stays very cool on a bridged 4 ohm load and is worth the $170 bucks. It isn't JL's top of the line gear but the quality is there and the name is one we all trust!

Stereo Amplifier: The JL Audio J2 360.2 is a class A/B stereo amplifier rated at 110 watts RMS x 2 into a 4Ω load, 135 watts RMS x 2 into a 3Ω load, and 180 watts RMS x 2 into a 2Ω load. When bridged the output is 360 watts RMS x 1 into a 4Ω load, 270 watts RMS x 1 into a 6Ω load, and 220 watts RMS x 1 into an 8Ω load.

Status LEDs: There are two LEDs on the left side of the amplifier:

  • Power: green LED indicates the amplifier is turned on and operating normally
  • Protect: red LED indicates the amplifier has exceeded its safe operating temperature, detected a short in a speaker output, or the speaker impedance is too low

Active Crossover: The crossover can be set to high-pass, low-pass, or off (full range). The crossover point is continuously variable from 50 Hz to 500 Hz and the crossover slope is 12 dB/octave.

Bass Boost: The bass boost circuit is adjustable from 0 to +9 dB. The boost frequency is fixed at 45 Hz.

Power and Ground: The Power and Ground connections accept 4 gauge wire, which JL Audio recommends as the minimum size. The set-screw terminals are tightened/loosened using the included 3mm Allen wrench.

Remote Turn-On: The remote terminal will accept 10 to 18 gauge wire. The set-screw terminal is tightened/loosened using the included 2mm Allen wrench.

Speaker Outputs: The speakers' set-screw terminals will accept 8 to 16 gauge speaker wire; they are tightened/loosened using the included 2.5mm Allen wrench.

Preamp Inputs: The amplifier features one set of RCA line level inputs. The input sensitivity is adjustable from 200mV to 4V RMS.

Speaker Inputs: When connecting the amp to a head unit without line level outputs, use the included speaker level input harness. In this case the input sensitivity is adjustable from 2V to 10V RMS.

Preamp Outputs: There is a pair of preamp outputs so you can send audio to another amplifier in your system. The preamp output is not affected by the crossover or bass boost circuits.
