High-Mass Heat Sink: A heavy extruded aluminum heat sink is designed to keep the JL Audio JX series amplifier in a comfortable thermal range during demanding operation. This high-mass, extruded heat sink removes heat from the amplifier circuitry, extending high-power operation. This improves reliability and reduces the frequency of thermally related shut-down event.

Protection Circuitry: The JX1000/1D's protection circuitry automatically shuts the amplifier down if thermal limits are exceeded, a short-circuit is detected in the speaker wiring, or if low supply voltage limits are reached.

Status Indicator Lights: There are two status indicator lights on the right side of the amplifier.

  • Power (Green): This LED lights green to indicate that the amplifier is turned on and operating normally.
  • Protect (Red): The Protection LED lights Red to indicate the amplifier's protection circuitry has been activated to prevent product failure due to thermal overload, a short-circuit, or a dangerously low impedance connected to the amplifier's outputs.
Controls

Input Sensitivity: The Input Sensitivity Control is used to match your source unit's output voltage to the input stage of the amplifier for maximum clean output.

  • Low-Level Input Range: 200mV-4V (RMS)
  • High-Level Input Range: 2V-10V (RMS)

Low Pass Crossover: The JL Audio JX1000/1D monoblock amplifier is equipped with a 12dB/octave Butterworth low-pass filter with variable frequency selection from 50 to 200Hz.

Bass Boost: The amplifier is equipped with a variable 0 to +12dB, 45Hz Bass Boost.

Remote Level Control: The JX1000/1D is equipped with an RJ-25 connection for an optional wired Remote Level Control (136RBC1, sold separately) that allows volume level adjustment of the amplifier from the front of your vehicle.

Connections

Power/Ground/Turn-On Terminals: The monoblock amplifier features set-screw terminals for the power, ground, and remote turn-on connections.

  • Power and Ground: The JL Audio amplifier's set-screw Power and Ground connections are designed to accept 8 to 4 AWG power wire. A 2.5mm hex-wrench is supplied for making connections.
  • Remote Turn-On: The JL Audio JX series amplifier's set-screw turn-on lead will accept 18 to 8 AWG wire. The same 2.5mm hex-wrench is supplied for making connection.

Note: The Amplifier is not equipped with a fuse. An external 80-amp AFS, AGU, or MAXI fuse (not included) must be installed on the power wire. If a wiring kit is used which includes a fuse with a value other than 80-amps, the original should be replaced with a 80-amp fuse

Speaker Output Terminals: The JL Audio JX1000/1D features four set-screw speaker terminals for an easy parallel subwoofer connection. The monoblock amplifier's four set-screw speaker terminals will accept 16 to 8 AWG speaker wire. A 2.5mm hex-wrench is supplied for making connections.

Preamp Inputs: The monoblock amplifier features one set of stereo RCA input jacks. The amplifier features a dedicated Input Sensitivity gain control for these inputs. These controls are designed to match the input sensitivity of the JX1000/1D to the specific signal source that is feeding it. The amplifier's low-level input can be set between 200mV-4V RMS.

Speaker Level Inputs: The JL Audio JX1000/1D also accepts speaker level signals, including those from factory systems (without the need for a line-output converter), via the supplied 10" speaker-level harness. The amplifier's high-level input can be set between 2V-10V RMS.

Preamp Outputs: The JX1000/1D incorporates a pass-through preamp output sections, so that additional amplifiers can easily be connected to the same signal(s) feeding the monoblock amplifier. These preamp output signals are buffered to prevent noise and are always preamp level, regardless of the level of signals feeding the amplifier's inputs.

1 ohm stable?

I'm not sure if it is 1 ohm stable. I have run the older models at 1/2 ohm stable before. It will probably run a little hotter than normal but hey it's JL AUDIO. The best Amp on the market!!

A
Don't believe so.

Can I run one of these on one shallow 12? Or should I go for one with lower wattage output?

That amp would be a great match for the JL12TW3-D8. You can wire the dula 8 ohm voice coils in parallel for a 4 ohm load where that amp will be pushing 500 watts. https://www.crutchfield.com/I-rET1c290/p_13692194/JL-Audio-12TW3-D8.html?tp=68897

can i run two 12s that run at a 2000 watt power peak and 1000rms with this amp?
gabriel  Jul 18, 2019

Absolutely. Make sure your final impedance is 2ohms to get the most power out of this amp.

A
Yes.
paul  Jul 31, 2019

The 1000 rms is all you should care about... And this amp will do 1k at 2 ohms. But I doubt you will get 2 ohms with 2 subs.

Q
Can you run two 12s and a 15 inch subwoofer with this amp?
presentacion  Mar 01, 2019

A
IMHO yes, BUT, only if you really really know what your doing wiring wise. You will have to do a series/ parallel combo and make sure your math is accurate for the ohms & Watts combo or you will fry your amp and subs
scott  Mar 02, 2019
A
Yes. This amp is a monster and will push just about anything you throw at it. You need to figure out the final impedance of the total speakers you use to not drop the amp below 2 ohms and you'll be ok
robert  Mar 02, 2019

Would this amp work the best with a W7-10? Also can I connect this amp to my existing JL 4 channel for power?

I have no idea. I ended up buying fosgate p2 punch dual 10 subs with a custom fosgate box and I have it wired at 4ohm and they are still pretty loud.

Q
If I use both outputs for two subs. one output to the first sub and the second output to the second sub (both at 2 ohm) do both subs get a rms of 1000w or does the power get split because I'm using both outputs and each speaker only get 500 ?
krimsen  Jun 22, 2017
1 answer
A
No. The amplifier is only one channel (mono). The two sets of output terminals are provided for convenience when connecting multiple subs. The amp is not 1 Ohm stable so, you cannot wire two 2 Ohm subs in parallel. You can wire two 4 Ohms in parallel and present the 2 Ohm final load when you do. This will get the full 1000 watts RMS from the amp with each sub getting up to 500.

Q
Will the amp be enough power for 2 15s cvx?
david  Apr 06, 2016
1 answer
A
I can't actually answer the question, because I am using my JX1000/1 to power my one Alpine SWR12D2. I don't know what vehicle you have, but I can tell you this. I can make everything shake cleanly in my 2008 Toyota Corolla. Like all JL Audio products, it is an excellent amplifier!

Q
using 2 Rockford Fosgate p3 subs with this amp is it best to wire it to 1 0me load or tow ome loads?
timmy  Dec 30, 2015
1 answer
A
This amplifier is not 1 Ohm stable so you'll need to be able to wire the subs for at least 2 Ohms. I hope that helps!
ryan  Jan 01, 2016 (Staff)
Q
with the variable low-pass filter can the amp be tapped into the rear speakers of a car? or does it need the line in converter still?
andrew s  Jul 05, 2015
1 answer
A
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The JL Audio JX1000-1 has speaker level inputs so you can tap into the rear speaker wires. You don't need a line output converter. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
I just bought an alpine typer swr12d2. I have the jdx1000-d amp. It says I can only wire the sub at 4 or 1 ohms.I am currently running at 4 ohms like it suggested but i'm not impressed and think it can be a lot louder. Should I return this amp and get one that is compatible with my single dual voice coil type r or is the amp capable of running at 1 ohm ?

A
My set up consists of two JL Audio 10W3V3-4's & the JL Audio JX1000/1D. The subs are 4ohm but I'm going to wire them in parallel so they each can get the 500 watts the amp can deliver. With one sub there are limited options so my recommendation would be to go with two subs. It is a bit much for my main genre of music which is jazz but I do like old school hip hop & R&B along with some new school music. Point is when I want clean, hard hitting bass I have it. Take into consideration how much you are willing & can afford to spend & your style of music & hit up the advisors. That helped me a great deal & helped me understand the components & what is suitable for my flavor of music. Oh, almost forgot...space! How much of your vehicles trunk or hatch back or SUV space are you willing to devote to your sub box because it is going to take up space. My box build will be complete next week so I'll let you know how my system turns out. Til then, happy listening!

What's up K! I have not put my system together yet because I am building my own box so I can't offer up any credible feedback on performance just yet but when I was shopping for all my components, I asked a lot of questions as to the amps capability. I am almost certain it's capable of running as low as two ohms, if you were using two subs like I am. I can research this a little further and get back to you but I think it's safe to say no...it can't go as low 1ohm...but don't quote me just yet.
