You know you're holding a serious piece of sound equipment when you feel the heft of a JX amp. JL Audio designed these amplifiers with sturdy, high-grade parts that ensure excellent heat management, provide high current flow, and deliver stable performance in almost any situation. You won't find blinking lights or meters on the outside of these amps, but you will find oversized output transistors and rugged MOSFET power supplies inside. The sleek, high-mass aluminum heatsink keeps things cool enough to virtually eliminate thermal shut-downs.
The JX360/2 2-channel amp puts out 110 watts RMS per channel to your speaker system, a great match for a high-quality set of component speakers or you can switch over to mono mode to send 360 watts RMS to a sub. You can use the high- and low-pass frequency filters to make your speaker system sound its absolute best. The amp includes speaker-level inputs, along with preamp inputs and outputs, so it's ready to work in virtually any system.
You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.
Recently replaced SUB in my F150 with a JL and needed a smaller amp to drive it. This amp performs great! Nice clean bass in a compact size.
Pros: Nice power for the price. Rugged design and easy set-up .
I Hooked this amp up in my family van and it is GREAT! Easy set up, I was up and running in 15 min. I am driving one 12" MA Audio bridged to mono and it has plenty of bass. Can't wait to purchase another one.
Pros: Easy set up, plenty of power for us, and a great sleek and clean design.
Installed with ease and pushes my sub like no other, people cannot believe the bass that comes from the speakers with this amp i would recommend this amp to anyone looking for great clear sound
this is a classic heavy duty material quality amp. my dad who worked in the car audio industry for 25 years got this amp for me based on it weight, quality connectors and cooling abilities. this is the type of amp that doesnt need fancy buttons and lights that do nothing the jx 360/2 has a plain down to buisness look specifically meant to just perform. i have two comp 10s running off the amp currently and they hit harder than they did with all 4 of my past amps. the 4 guage wire leads give a great connection everytime. the JL audio support staff is promt and very helpful if you have any questions about the amp.
Pros: tough, powerful, and quality
Cons: allen wrench screws that are easily stripped when trying to use to small of wire
Awesome quality amp, clean bass. Perfect for ínside surround music.
Pros: Golf fidelity
This amp powers my Infinity Kappa 2 ways perfect at 110W per channel.
The gain and filter adjustments are nice and the amp looks sleek. it has had no problems with line distortion or over heating.
Pros: Clean Power, perfect for component speaker pair
Cons: Kind of large
Purchased this amp to power my JL CP108LGW3 sub. Love how low profile the amp is as I have it under the backseat of a Tundra. Extremely powerful for its size and exceeded all of my thoughts of how it would perform. JL Audio continues to make quality.
Pros: slim, powerful, 2 channel, quality
This compact amp slips right under a seat, delivers excellent power and headroom and most importantly, just disappears from the signal chain - just like a well designed amp is supposed to.
Pros: Small size, power output, no odd pops or clicks on turn on/turn off, no sharp edges or fins to draw blood during installation.
Cons: Tiny crossover switch is a tad too small.
Great Amp so far...bought open box..hooked to one JL 10" Sub.. 350 watts at 4 ohms is just what I wanted..gave it 4 stars since wires are exposed..
Pros: Speaker level inputs
Cons: Wires can't be covered if you install..Didn't matter for me since I installed it under the front passenger seat.
I had a JL j2-306.2 and it had some problems so my warranty got me this,
since the other amp is discontinued. With the new amp all i can say is wow. It
says it has the same power, but my infinity references hit way harder now.

Two-Channel Class A/B Amplifier: The JL Audio JX360/2 is a two-channel, full-range (20-20,000Hz) audio amplifier utilizing Class A/B technology. The JX360/2 can be operated with a wide variety of source units (aftermarket or factory) and system configurations (Mono or 2-channel).
MOSFET Switching Power Supply: The JL Audio JX series two-channel amplifier employs a rugged MOSFET power supply for outstanding reliability and operational stability.

High-Mass Heat Sink: A heavy extruded aluminum heat sink is designed to keep the JL Audio JX series amplifier in a comfortable thermal range during demanding operation. This high-mass, extruded heat sink removes heat from the amplifier circuitry, extending high-power operation. This improves reliability and reduces the frequency of thermally related shut-down event.
Protection Circuitry: The JX360/2's protection circuitry automatically shuts the amplifier down if thermal limits are exceeded, a short-circuit is detected in the speaker wiring, or if low supply voltage limits are reached.
Status Indicator Lights: There are two status indicator lights on the right side of the amplifier.
Input Sensitivity: The two-channel amplifier's Input Sensitivity Control is used to match your source unit's output voltage to the input stage of the amplifier for maximum clean output.
Variable Crossover: The variable filter design employed in the JX series amplifier's crossover section allows you to switch filter modes and change filter frequencies. The JX360/2 offers the following crossover adjustments along the amp's side-panel.
Power/Ground/Turn-On Terminals: The two-channel amplifier features set-screw terminals for the power, ground, and remote turn-on connections.
Note: The Amplifier is not equipped with a fuse. An external 50-amp AFS, AGU, or MAXI fuse (not included) must be installed on the power wire. If a wiring kit is used which includes a fuse with a value other than 50-amps, the original should be replaced with a 50-amp fuse
Speaker Output Terminals: The JX360/2 amplifier's four set-screw speaker terminals will accept 16 to 8 AWG speaker wire. The amplifier's speaker terminals can be wired in a stereo or bridged configuration. A 2.5mm hex-wrench is supplied for making connections.
Preamp Inputs: The two-channel amplifier features one set of stereo RCA input jacks. The amplifier features a dedicated Input Sensitivity gain control for these inputs. These controls are designed to match the input sensitivity of the JX360/2 to the specific signal source that is feeding it. The amplifier's low-level input can be set between 200mV-4V RMS.
Speaker Level Inputs: The JL Audio JX360/2 also accepts speaker level signals, including those from factory systems (without the need for a line-output converter), via the supplied 10" speaker-level harness. The amplifier's high-level input can be set between 2V-10V RMS.
Preamp Outputs: The JX360/2 incorporates a pass-through preamp output sections, so that additional amplifiers can easily be connected to the same signal(s) feeding the two-channel amplifier. These preamp output signals are buffered to prevent noise and are always preamp level, regardless of the level of signals feeding the amplifier's inputs.

This amp will not be a good match for that subwoofer. The subwoofer will prevent a 2-ohm load to the amplifier, and the amplifier is designed to handle that in bridged mode. I would recommend taking a look at mono subwoofer amplifiers. They are designed to work with specifically with subwoofers, and can handle the lower ohm rating. The Sound Ordnance M 1350 would be a great match: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_777M1350/Sound-Ordnance-M-1350.html?tp=115 [ Jeff Dec 17, 2013 ] Staff
