This JL Audio adapter allows you to convert speaker wires into RCA plug connectors. You'll be able to connect your car stereo's speaker outputs directly into aftermarket amplifiers equipped with RCA inputs that accept high-level signals, like JL Audio's XD, Slash v2, and A-Series amps.
Great time saver, clean installation.

Great time saver, clean installation.
I bought these to replace the speaker level adapter RCA plugs that originally came with an amplifier I purchased. The originals were loose and wouldn't even stay connected. I bought these JL plugs to replace those and they worked great. Quality product and good price!
Pros: Nice and snug fit. High quality Nice price from Crutchfield
The item itself seemed to be good quality. And it was good it came with an extra set. I was connecting them to a cassette player/recorder. However, they didn't work. I'm not sure if it was the connection I made, the player I was using, or the RCA plugs.
Pros: Good quality.
Cons: Didn't work.Crutchfield response on December 2, 2015 Thanks to this review, we updated the information on this item to reflect that this adapter is designed to work with select JL Audio amps and is NOT a line output converter, which actually converts the high-voltage speaker-level signal to a low-voltage line-level signal. If you need a line output converter, you'll find them here.
So easy to use. Save me from having to run new wire. I had run speaker wire to my subwoofer location. 5 minutes and a soldering iron and I had a new RCA for my subwoofer..
Such a fantastic product that is so easy to use. Just spliced into the speaker wires for the front speakers and works perfectly for getting clean signal to my sub-woofer.
Pros: Simple and works
I have been looking for a product like this that matches other JL Audio products that I already have. I am glad I found it here. The product itself works perfectly and in great quality. Thanks!
Pros: great quality. great size
Great quality to them, easy to cut, and work with.
Pros: Color coded
Cons: Maybe anther two inches of wire
Great product, it doesn't show in Crutchfield's description but, the terminals are labeled for the positive wire with little "+" symbols on the wire jacket. The wire is well insulated at the plug connectors. The plugs have red and white rings to help in associating the left and right channels.
Pros: Low profile plugs are great for plugging in right spaces like the back of the radio/receiver and mating them to RCA audio interconnects.
Cons: None so far.
Another quality product from JL. Very easy to connect. Small and compact. Very easy to hide on installs. So far, no complaints on sound quality.
Pros: Easy to connect. Great quality.
Cons: None so far.
Sends a signal....that's about it.
Pros: Makes converting speaker to rca easy.
Cons: Not a very long cable, and mine only came with one female adapter instead of two. Too much of hassle to send it back.
This is a fantastic product, as I'm accustomed to from JL Audio. For my specific application I could have easily used a longer wire to splice into my factory speaker wiring, but regardless I'm very satisfied with buying these adapters.
Pros: Quality product
Cons: Wiring could be longer to minimize wire splicing.
Perfect for those of us running factory head units. Made installation quick and simple.
Pros: Easy to use
Got the job done. Good, durable
It was Exactly what I needed. Thanks you Crutchfield
All in all this is a great product for those of us that need to get an older JL amp into a factory equipped audio system. I had to convert my factory speaker wires into a preamp level RCA for my older JL 250/1v2. The cables prove to be of durable materials and everything fit properly. I even like the added touch of the barrel adapters if your setup required them.
Pros: Long enough wires for my install and not too long where they get in the way.
Cons: The RCA connection wasn't as secure and tight as i would like but still holds onto the amp okay.
Easy to install
Pros: Better than I thought
I got this to be able to use the High level inputs on my JL Slash 500/1v1 and they work flawless I used with some posi connectors and it allowed me to simplify my install and remove my line out converter.
Pros: Came with female to female adapter too
I have an Alpine mrp-m1000 amp and 2 10" 4ohm type R's. I wanted to keep it stock with my 6 disk cd changer. I tapped into my rear speakers with the JL output converter and let me say the bass is more than loud!!! Real easy just solder some speaker wire or the JL's if you have some rca cables to the rear speakers and that's it. Crutchfield said wouldn't be glass shattering but its pretty close. I would def recommend this easy cheap fix to anyone!!! just wish the wires were longer 2009 Toyota Corolla S 6 disk Cd changer with 6 speakers
Overview: The JL Audio RCA-to-Speaker Wire Adapters (XD-CLRAIC2-SW) allow high level speaker outputs to be connected via RCA plugs. Ideal for use with amplifiers that have high-level input capability, but no speaker wire input connections. The molded RCA plugs are short and the speaker wire is 18AWG to allow for easy installation in tight areas.
Note: This is not a line output converter. It does not change a high voltage speaker level signal to a low voltage line level signal, and should not be used to connect a speaker level signal to an amp that only has line level inputs.

used this to send High level input to my JL audio Slash 500/1 amplifier [ ROBERT Apr 18, 2016 ]
needed for audio connection from TV out to secondary wireless speaker transmit/receiver unit. [ THOMAS Apr 06, 2016 ]
To hook up my sub,to my head unit [ Richard Dec 17, 2015 ]
If by taping in, you mean removing the current end and replacing it with the RCA ends, then they will work just fine. I did that on my car stereo system and it worked perfectly. You still have to make sure that Left and Right match up. [ Derek Apr 30, 2015 ]
Hi. Gene. Is 9 inches long, with female barrel connector make it 10 inches long. [ ALVIN Jan 12, 2014 ]
You can add extra wire to it & make it as long as you need. [ Juan Jan 11, 2014 ]
Specifically, I would think that only Crutchfield can answer that. My question to you would be "why would you want them longer?" I have "Audioquest FLX-DB14/2" wire for all my long runs. This is supposed to be the best there is and is approved for in-wall wiring. I would think that having shorter runs (wire) would decrease the chances of distortion. I needed these to temporarily hookup my speakers to my Oppo BDP-95 Blu-Ray player while I send my AV receiver in for repair. The Oppo's outputs use the RCA plugs and the receiver utilizes bare wire or speaker cable connector "pins" which I elected to not use. The only thing that I could see that might be better would to use a "soldered" connection but I couldn't find any. I know I won't be using these as a permanent connection. [ MARVIN J Jan 11, 2014 ]
I don't think so. Just get more speaker wire. [ Bruce Jan 11, 2014 ]
Ensures an easier connection. I prefer running rca cables down the car rather than speaker wire, also the rca cables are more shielded from any interference than speaker wire would be [ DOYLE Jan 02, 2014 ]
No the barrel connectors are just a way to connect two male ends. [ ROBERT Jan 02, 2014 ]
Just makes it easier to connect. I used this to tap in to my factory speaker wires to send signal to my JL Slash 500/1 [ ROBERT Jan 01, 2014 ]
It didn't increase or decrease the signal but it surely take the alternator sound off my system.. It might be different if you directly going to the an amp with speaker input ... My system got an eq so when I tried to connect gave me a muffled sound and didn't sound good when I connect directly to the speaker output. Might be good product do a factory radio maybe.. Hope this helps [ STEPHEN Jan 01, 2014 ]
No, it just makes it easier to connect. But if you think you can just wire any rca connection on to speaker wire, you are mistaken. Most will be near impossible so these are worth grabbing imo. [ SILAS G Jan 01, 2014 ]
