Cheap and Noisy

Written by: JonathanR from Laveen, AZ on October 17, 2014

Very cheap and noisy cables. My first car audio system and I was recommended these after months of dealing with this I finally realized that these were cheap Rca cables and that I must get shielded ones to get rod of the annoying interference these pick up

Very high quality cable. I usually use knukonceptz brand connections for my audio installs but seen how good the price was on this cable and wanted to try it. It is shielded and the connectors fit snugly. Four stars instead of five because the length selection is limited.

Pros: Price, quality

Cons: Length selection

Came damaged but the greatest customer service

Written by: Carlos D. from Charlotte, North Carolina on May 6, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Thought i needed a set of new rca cables for my subwoofer because I had interference, when I received the cables it was damaged; it looked like it was placed on something hot and was melted a bit. So i was disappointed on that. So if you're wondering I gave it a five 5 star it's because of the customer service. It was the best!! I called as soon as I saw the cables were damaged and they were very sorry and were willing to refund the full amount without returning the item. Then they transfered me to a technician to see if they can help me out with the inference I was hearing and he suggested a ground loop patch......point blank simple it worked perfectly; problem fixed. Crutchfield is awesome. Even though there was some inconvenience Crutchfield will be my first option when dealing with car audio.

Pros: Customer service.

Cons: Cables were damaged but refunded my money with no problem.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Can't beat the price for the quality. First, each side is electronically shielded the entire length of the cable. I ended up with a few extra feet leftover.... I spooled it up in a body panel, no noise issues at all. Bottom line, this works perfectly. Buy it. Don't spend fifty bucks more on a cable that works the same and claims to be better, when in reality it performs the same. I work in electrical engineering. This cable is built well, period.

Pros: Solid build quality, solid shielding, great value.

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Ordered the EFX kit along with my new Sound Ordinance 4050 amp, Sony MEX BT3100 and Fosgate 1683 Punch series speakers. Of course the installation was a lot of work, than just a head unit and speakers. Top shelf cables and connectors made the connectivity simple. Even the battery connection and remote fuse block was simple to install, pre-terminated power cables so no crimps were required. The only way to go if installing an amp.

Pros: Very good quality cables

EFX 17-foot RCA Patch Cable

Written by: Anonymous from Lancaster, PA on February 1, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Cheap for a reason... Bought this and an EFX Amp kit for the Sound Ordinance M4075 4 channel amp. Using the cable from the amp kit the sound was perfect. After I plugged this on into the rear channel there was a fairly loud humming coming from the speakers. I even ran this wire in black tubing all the way from the front of the car, and the amp kit wire has none. It still makes an annoying humming sound.

Cons:

Great RCA's for the $$. Not as nice as the RCA's with the EFX Amp Kit I got, but still rather nice. If you spend more you will be hard pressed to hear any audible differences between this cable and higher priced cables.

Cons:

I get alot of loud noise on my back speakers from these cables. To get rid of that noise I have to wire tie these cable ends on the back of the deck in such a way that the noise is gone. I have troubleshot this using another set of cables I have around and they are fine. Just too short.

They worked good for me. Ran my power cable on one side of the car and all my output
cables on the other side to avoid any noise issues but there where still areas
where these RCA cables came close to other power wires along the way. I was also
concerned that in the back of my car (trunk area) where all the cables came
together/cross into the amps that their might be some noise issues created but
I'm not getting any. Very happy with the purchase.

Great Budget RCA cables

Written by: Anonymous from NC on May 31, 2009

I purchased these because I didn't want to spend $30 on a pair of RCA cables unless I had to. These work well, and I am happy with them. I did have to change 2 of the connectors over to 90 degree because my dash is really shallow, and it would be nice if these were offered with 90 degree plugs pre-molded on.

simply put: am running this patch w/ the twisted blue/silver EFX/Scoche in the 8ga amp kit to a 4ch amp; this one gives me engine noise, the other one doesn't. They are running parallel the whole way, and run w/ a power cable part of the way (unavoidable - part of the car).

Bottom line: sends a good signal, but poor at resisting noise.

doubtful. that looks like 14 or 16 guage braided, at best. Chat with a rep - they should be able to answer that. [ ERIC T  Dec 28, 2013 ]
Patch cables send signal...not power. Gauge is irrelevant. [ MICHAEL N  Dec 27, 2013 ]
