Customer Q&A

Q
Will this work with a Fusion RA70 unit.?
david  May 14, 2023
1 answer
A
This would not be compatible with the Fusion RA70. Fusion has its own cover, although it is not on hinges. Here's a link to that item: www.crutchfield.com/p_917RA70CV/item.html

Q
Does this reduce sun glare?
dan  Apr 04, 2021
2 answers
A
It will reduce sun glare to a point, but mainly it is to protect the head unit from harmful sun exposure.
adam  Apr 04, 2021
A
When it is closed, yes it does...

Q
Will the aftermarket radio cage attach directly to this or are additional brackets necessary?
zachary  Feb 02, 2021
1 answer
A
From my experience, I believe we used screws through the cover and into the center console of the boat. I don't think cover and radio are directly connected.

Q
Would this be a good option to cover a 3.5 inch gauge cut out hole to replace gauge size head unit for a standard sized one? Not liking the quality of the new but not improved circular marine radios.
jeff  Mar 21, 2019
1 answer
A
It should cover that because it needs a 8.260" wide x 3.322" tall cutout and covers a total area of 9.820" wide x 4.361" tall. Gauge style radios should not need more than a 3" tall cutout and cover less area than this does My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Paul

Q
How far apart are the mounting holes (height and width)? Will this fit a standard single din receiver?
michael  Sep 17, 2016
1 answer
A
I don't remember the distance between the mounting holes but I did have to enlarge my single din opening about a quarter of an inch so the cover could roll back when opened.

Q
Can the trim cover come back off ?
john  May 03, 2021
1 answer
A
Not easily, you would also have to remove the mounting screws and seal (if used).
robert  May 03, 2021
Q
My problem is I have a very thick firewall. Is the faceplate big enough for the cover to retract without hitting my firewall?
james  Aug 24, 2020
3 answers
A
Most likely note, I installed it over a standard Kenwood marine radio/player, it was a very tight fit.
robert  Aug 24, 2020
A
The answer is yes the face plate is big enough to cover. However, you will need to resize the firewall. Use the provided template and size the cutout and the face plate will cover no sweat!
christopher  Aug 24, 2020
A
On my boat the cover was fine, but I was replacing an existing panel. The new panel was a tad bit bigger, so I had to cut the opening bigger.
