Scosche FD1441B

You bought a 2010-up Ford Mustang without navigation — great car, but its console makes it difficult to upgrade the factory radio. This Scosche FD1441B dash kit allows you to install an aftermarket DIN (2" tall) or double-DIN (4" tall) receiver in the dash panel, while retaining your car's factory heating, ventilation, and air conditioning control functionality.

You can use this kit in vehicles with either single or dual climate controls. The kit's buttons and color touchscreen replace your Mustang's factory climate control system. The kit is a perfect match for the color, texture, and contours of your dash.

Please enter your vehicle information or call an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if this kit is compatible with your vehicle. Warranty: 1 year.

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Pretty Good

2014 Ford Mustang
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The first one I received, the on/off switch stuck in or out. Crutchfield was very prompt and trouble free sending a replacement. The product itself is not bad, but kind of cheap feeling, especially for the money. The display is functional but not crisp. It looks ok in the cabin, but not great.

Pros: It fits and does what it is supposed to.

Cons: Cheap looking display, not sure how long the unit will last before breaking or losing functionality, just feels cheap. Also overpriced.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was going to save for the iDatalink but decided I didn't want a touchscreen radio so I went with this along with a basic JVC single din. Easy install and works fine. The touchscreen is a tad delayed at times but it's not too bothersome. I've had a couple friends in my car since the install and they've all asked if it was stock and thought it was cool. I recommended it to one of them who just bought a mustang and they're going to go with it. great fit and finish. the factory screen does not say mustang on it just the outside temp and "DVD" in the corner but I really don't notice or care. I'm happy with it

Pros: easy install, easy operation

Cons: be patient with the touchscreen. slight delay at times

Nice but...

Written by: SteveG from Madison, AL on July 7, 2015

I can only give three stars due to deceptive advertising. All the pictures show the word MUSTANG displayed in the upper screen but that is not what you get. The ones being sold now have DVD offset to the left. This is disappointing because that is a selling point. Other than that, it is a very nice unit. It has good fit and the a/c controls work very well.

Pros: Nice fit, nice a/c controls, looks good except the upper screen

Cons: Deceptive advertising

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Okay so people have given this product bad reviews on other websites stating that it is buggy but it ISN'T. I don't know how people have installed this kit because for me it works flawlessly. Just remember to install the harness or set of wires that looks like it doesn't attach to anything to the back because if you do not plug that harness into the back of the kit then that is when the unit might become buggy.

Pros: Works like it should.

Cons: Brightness I wish the climate control screen was switched with the install location of the headunit

Exactly what my 2013 Mustang needed! Perfect fit, simple to install and connect. Matches nicely with the other dash panels. I now have a double din headunit with Bluetooth. The A/C controls are easy to get to, very visible and the touch screen is nice.

Pros: Easy to install

Cons: None

Great Dash Kit for Mustang - but no control over original OEM display

Written by: Dave Mc from South Carolina on April 20, 2015

2012 Ford Mustang
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great plate for your modern era Mustang - easy to install with no issues - however on the original OEM display (top display) you cannot control what is displayed - in many YouTube Videos and pictures of this plate you see "Mustang" or "Mustang GT" displayed which I would have preferred - however, this is not the case, instead it says DVD on the top left of the screen and the external temp on the right middle of the screen and the rest is blank - called the company and they said that the ability to display Mustang is no longer an option with no explanation. Another issue is this item even when ordering a stereo to go with it at 1/2 cost is Way, Way over priced - in my opinion, retail for it should be less than $100 without any specials.

Pros: Easy Fit both physically and wiring, easy DIY project. Great looking display for the environmental controls

Cons: PRICE - way to high, and not able to program the unit to allow for a change of display on the original Mustang OEM display screen.

Perfect Fit

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this so I could install a Kenwood stereo. It's a perfect fit and looks factory installed. Had problems with a/c control, but realized I forgot to install one wire used for firmware update. After that everything was fine. Haven't taken car out for extended road trip to see if there would be any defects. Will update if anything changes.

Pros: Fit, looks, easy installation.

Cons: Make sure you follow instructions and attach all wires or your a/c will not work.

Looks OEM, works like it should.

Pros: Nice fit, looks OEM. The buttons balance the touch screen and don't leave a lot of vacant area.

Cons: Would be nice to have custom colors on the buttons.

Would not function in the heat. Anytime it was over 90 degrees outside the touch screen would not power on. How can you make something so expensive, and then have it fail to perform the only task it needs to. Seriously? The air conditioner is unusable in heat. Let that sink in for a minute. I'm beyond irritated. Never buying scosche ever again. Might as well throw my money in the trash next time, I'll be less disappointed.

Pros: Nothing. It's ugly, expensive, and can't function properly.

Cons: Everything.

2013 Ford Mustang
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Needed this for my 2013 Mustang stereo install. I went with a half din so I could have a storage pocket. In a Mustang, extra storage is a big thing! Plug and play and it works great. Make sure you're done with the stereo before snapping it into place. I had to take it off as I had forgotten a connection, and ended up breaking the upper right tab that secures it to the dash (it goes on tight, which is a good thing). I hate rattles and was fearing the worst but the remaining tabs held it in tight.

Pros: Does what you need it to do

Cons: Different controls, but I just need to get used to them. Wish I could have kept the clock display

2013 Ford Mustang
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit looks great and performs very well. Getting it with 50% off special (with purchase of a HU) from Crutchfield is a deal that is hard to beat. Install and set-up of the A/C controls was a breeze. I recommend this item to anyone upgrading a Mustang system.

Pros: Perfect match to the factory dash, simple installation and the new A/C controls look great.

Cons: The factory stereo display only shows compass and temp, it looks kind of odd with everything else blank. This isn't the kit's fault, but it does look strange.

Simple & clean with OEM look

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellently constructed, flawless fit with superb features. This kit gives a great update to any mustang with manual A/C controls.

Pros: Easy install, clean fit with OEM look.

Cons: Head unit wiring kit not included. You must purchase this to wire in any radio you place in here & this is quite expensive to retain steering wheel controls & Sync functionality.

Easy to install and clean interface.

Pros: Perfect fit for the OEM interior.

Cons: Adjusting the A/C controls takes a little more time and the Double DIN install is at the bottom of the unit.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great looking kit that really gives an "up-to-date" look to the interior of the mustang. Installation and setup is very easy. Climate control buttons feel solid, and touch screen tracks nicely.

Pros: Modernizes the interior look of the mustang, easy install/setup

Cons: Adjusting the fan position for the AC/Fan on the touch screen is a little weird. You have to cycle through all the positions when making changes (as opposed to being able to go back and forth between modes).

Great, Clean Kit

Very easy to install, looks clean but still special, and works well. Also comes with 1 DIN storage tray if you only want to use a 1 DIN receiver instead of a 2 DIN.

Fairly sure it will, I have a GT with manual controls & the touchscreen a/c works flawlessly. However pay attention to which audio harness you purchase with it, as not all support Sync & steering wheel controls. But this kit looks factory & is very well constructed. I mounted & removed it several times getting the new head unit perfectly aligned. The clips on this are superior to the factory ones as well & give a firm grip, so removing it is a little difficult. [ PATRICK B  Dec 11, 2013 ]
Sure the cat will work wonderfully and I am very impressed. alI've been in the car stereo industry's most of my life. simple installation a caution would be to cover up the end of your shifter before moving parts around to protect the face of the kit. [ JIM  Dec 11, 2013 ]
I also had the manual controls. It will work. The display is a little hard to read in direct sunlight though. I keep mine set to night mode it seems to be a little easier to see. [ DANIEL N  Dec 11, 2013 ]
I don't have a boss 302, but my 2013 base v6 has manual A/C and it worked great with that [ KEVIN W  Dec 11, 2013 ]
