We received the kit in a very short amount of time. It fit my 1997 Blazer perfectly without cutting or changing tabs or anything crazy like the retail store kits.

Pros: Perfect fit!

Cons: None

As usual simple installation, easy to figure out. Stereo went into dash in about 5 mins from hole to done.

Pros: Easy to use.

Cons:

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great fit and easy to install but when it arrived it was cracked on the top of the mounting bracket. Put some glue on it and it works pretty well. Just hope that it holds.

Pros: easy install. No need for instructions on this one.

Cons: When it arrived it was cracked. The pocket that is in the new mounting does not stay secure either.

Fantastic!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I couldn't believe the fit of this kit with my after market stereo. I was going to try the other kit recommended for my Chevy Blazer. The other kit from the description sounded like it would stick out to much. My Blazer has the little storage pocket as the stock radio does too! The description and picture of the kit show a plastic plate in case you don't have a graphic equalizer to install. I was surprised to find they put a storage pocket istead of the plastic plate a plus! Everything fit fine no hassle!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I really want to give this 4 1/2 stars, because the mounting kit comes with a tray instead of a block off plate, as others have stated. And for my 96 Blazer, which already has a factory tray under the stock radio, this was a little redundant, since the factory tray is reused for the new stereo installation. However, the fit and finish, and ease of installation, was absolutely perfect and went very smoothly. I am very pleased with everything else about this product, and really that is what is most important. That's why I went ahead and bumped the rating up to a 5. And if the extra tray really bothered someone, a new block off plate can be fabricated, or borrowed from another mounting kit that uses one. So all in all, I am happy with this great mounting kit. It made the install a snap!

1997 Chevrolet S10
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great unit, fit was excellent. Installation took less than 45 minutes. I would recommend this unit to anyone over the 1.5" outset unit.
Very minimal material from the dash has to be removed to accomodate this mounting kit. The only thing I would suggest is that the kit should include a solid blank for the optional equalizer provision rather than the pocket since the OEM pocket underneath the stereo is utilized along with this piece.

1995 Chevrolet S10
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I read the previous reviews before I purchased my new head unit here, and these other three reviews were spot on. I found out that the hardware Crutch provides with the new deck on a Chevy S10, sticks out an inch and a half, and I wasnt too happy about that, so I started to look around some. I stumbled uppon this and even though the "Find what fits my car" says it doesnt fit the S10, it WILL if you cut out a little bit of the plastic in the back of the dash, but it isnt too diffucult to do. Overall, I think this setup looks nicer since it sits about a quarter inch or less from the dash, but personally, I think it looks a lot better than the 1.5" kit. It was worth the extra little effort. This was my first time installing a head unit and the Crutchfield instructions were great. I would never have guessed to loosen up the stearing collumn to give you a little more room to get the dash off.

By the way, I used my dads die grinder with a pointed bit on the end to cut out the back. I think a Dremel with a pointed bit would work just as well. An exacto knife just didn't work for me. Hope this helps..

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was able to get my Sony CDX-R5515X in my truck with this kit. I'm glad I didn't get the 1.5" kit because this one was fine. I did have to remove some of the plastic baffle behind the radio. Color match is very good. Fit is very good as well. I only wish Scosche made a fully flush kit for my truck. I'd hack more material out from behind the radio, if I could get it completely flush with the dash.

I love how it looks compared to the other one but had to remove back wall of plastic and still barely fits... also comes with a pocket not a plate for the 1/2 din.

how this product worked out for me

This mounting kit worked out great. the only snag to it is that you have to cut out the back plastic piece behind the stereo and its a little difficult but it is all worth it once you see that new stereo sitting flush in your dash!
