Scosche GM5201AB touchscreen display

The customizable touchscreen display includes climate controls.

Color touchscreen display

You bought a 2010-up Camaro — great car, but its console makes it tough to upgrade the factory radio. The Scosche GM5201AB dash and wiring kit replaces your Camaro's dash panel, so you can install a single- or double-DIN car stereo. This dash kit includes a color touchscreen display for your climate controls. Using this touchscreen display's menu system, you can also adjust the settings for the display and various functions in your Chevy. You'll also get built-in buttons alongside the display for your Camaro's fan speed, hazard lights, and door locks.

The Scosche GM5201AB is a perfect match for the color, texture, and contours of your dash. You can use the included wiring interface to connect your new receiver and retain your factory steering wheel audio controls.

Please enter your vehicle information or call an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if this package is compatible with your vehicle. Warranty: 1 year.

Installation note: This interface does not retain OnStar®.

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

2011 Chevrolet Camaro
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Looks much better than the Metra unit

Pros: Works great when you follow the instructions exactly. Easy to install.

Cons: The large harness makes it difficult to get the head unit in it's cramped space. The dash unit is extremely flimsy. You need to be extra careful or the 2 pieces will separate

Chevy should use this

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this because my son got a new stereo for Christmas for his 2011 camero. The touch screen a/c controls are so much nicer than even the stock, that it would be worth buying even if you didn't get a new radio. And fits perfectly!

Great product

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Easy to install, and makes the car look so much nicer. The double LCD screen is really a nice touch.

All I can say is take your time, and make sure everything is plugged in securely.

Once installed, turn the car on (start it), turn it off and remove the key, wait five minutes, and then turn the car back on, and back off.

When starting the car the third time, it will be working as described.

Worked out pretty good

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fits the car pretty good. It does make it a little hard to see the top two gauges on the center console but other than that it is spot on. Follow the instructions and you will have zero issues.

Pros: Good instructions

Cons: Turning the air on takes hitting two buttons kinda strange but everything works

2010 Chevrolet Camaro
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I agree with everyone else.....this kit looks way better than the Metra kit. I like it but I don't love it. First off, this thing isn't that easy to install. The buttons are kind of "sticky" - they are hard to work sometimes. The A/C interface isn't the most user friendly either. But the worst part for me is it is kind of glitchy. Even though it says it has everything you need, this is not really accurate. We installed this over a weekend and discovered that with a Kenwood head unit you need to install a resistor (purchased locally) to get the steering wheel controls to work. Even with this "fix" the steering wheel controls only work about 30% of the time. I haven't had the beeping issues or the key fob distance issues. Like I said, its a necessary evil to get a better head unit in the car. I love the idea of this kit, I just think they could have done a little better for the price.

Pros: Looks clean - vast improvement over stock Maintains most factory controls

Cons: Need extra stuff to make it work some of the time buttons are sticky A/C controls hard to work - can't see them in direct sunlight

Best kit hands down

2010 Chevrolet Camaro
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Scosche dash kit for the 2010 camaro is the best fitting , functioning and looking kit available. As we all know the factory radio (even with the boston speaker package) leaves alot to be desired. I originally had purchased the metra kit because this kit was sold out everywhere. after 14 months of owning the metra kit and trouble shooting every possible problem that comes with metra the module turned out to be faulty. it was 2 months out of warranty (what a waste of 450+ ) so i called crutchfield to order another kit and found out they had the scosche kit in stock. after installing the metra kit and removing/reinstalling every month for over a year to troubleshoot issues, the scosche kit was far easier to install, fit and finish was far better then anything else on the market. everything functions perfectly. The two suggestions i can make if looking to replace a factory radio is this. BUY THIS KIT..dont waste your money like i did.if you buy the other brand kit you will be disappointed and end up buying this one anyway. Secondly...FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. dont take a short cut, remove the console. there is a reason for doing so, the install will be alot easier with less chance of breakage to the kit if you take the extra 10 min to take out the console completely. Buy from Crutchfield and you will get great support if ever needed

Pros: great fit great finish great function touch screen alot less wiring than competitors kit built in turn signal speaker

Cons: none to mention.

2010 Camaro coupe Single Din to Double DIN with this install kit.

Written by: Anonymous from Dallas, TX on February 12, 2014

Looks OEM with single DIN to double DIN Pioneer CD-DVD Head. Everything works just as OEM. Better sound quality and professsional OEM look. Professionally installed with some wiring issues. For a simple upgrade, "do it yourself" and save some bucks. Install instructions easy to understand, even for the "first timer."

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Unfortunately, you pretty much have to buy this or the Metra adapter to replace the factory head unit. I did like that when you bundle this with a unit, Crutchfield knocks the price in half which is the cheapest around by far. The unit itself has some problems. Sometimes, the door chime will beep constantly and not turn off ever (if you turn on the hazards and turn off it will stop the beeping). This was tolerable, but this issue is way worse. The distance that your stock keyless entry funtions is reduced to almost nothing! I have to be within 5 feet of the car for it to work! I have searched the Camaro forums and found numerous people with the same issues. I emailed Scosche however they stated since they are unable to recreate the problem, they don't know how to fix.

So if you must have an aftermarket head unit, this definitely looks better than the Metra. If the stock unit doesn't really bother you, than stick with it.

Pros: Nice Touchscreen Clean Look Functions correctly

Cons: Lowers the distance of keyless entry Sometimes cannot stop door chime

Vehicle Compatibility: The Scosche GM5201AB integration package allows you to replace your 2010-up Chevy Camaro's factory stereo with an aftermarket head unit to improve the overall sound quality of your vehicle's audio system. Please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible.

Dash Kit: The dash kit fits both double-DIN or single-DIN aftermarket head units. A pocket is included for single-DIN head units. This dash kit has been designed with high quality automotive grade ABS plastic to match the texture and paint of your factory panels.

Integrated Touchscreen w/ Climate Controls: The Scosche GM5201AB dash kit features a full color touchscreen and push-button controls for your vehicle's HVAC system. Its configurable for single or dual climate control.

Stereo Replacement Harness: The included wiring harness connects between the GM5201AB's dash kit, your new aftermarket head unit, and your vehicle's factory radio harness. There is a 24-pin and 8-pin connector which plugs behind dash kit, and two multi-pin molex connectors which plug into your factory radio harness. The wiring harness will need to be hardwired to your aftermarket head unit's harness (see wire chart below).

No additional interface or programming is necessary.

Optional OnStar Retention Interface: If your Chevy Camaro features OnStar and you would like to keep this feature when installing an aftermarket head unit, you will need to purchase the Scosche CAMOSM OnStar retention interface (142CAMOSM, sold separately). Otherwise, you will lose your factory OnStar when installing an aftermarket head unit.

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

I had no choice. For a car that was so looked forward to the aftermarket options to replace the radio are bad and terrible. [ Jaret  Feb 08, 2016 ]

Yes it does, it integrates with Climate Controls. You'll see the second picture on our website shows the two heated seat icons on the bottom left/right. Hope that helps. [ Kenny  Jan 02, 2016 ]  Staff

Unfortunately no it doesn't. [ Charles  Oct 18, 2015 ]

No it does not. [ DAVID  Oct 18, 2015 ]

No, it does not. [ SPENCER  Oct 18, 2015 ]
No they do not [ Justin  Oct 18, 2015 ]
No, it doesn't. If you install the adapter you loose the usb connection and the temp. If your camero has his display though, you will see the temp on it. All this is irrelevant if you want an aftermarket stereo as there aren't any other options for the camero because of the engineering design. [ mike  Oct 18, 2015 ]

Hey Alexis I have a 2011 Camaro RS and yes it will work with your 2010 Camaro. Its easy to install and works great with your steering wheel controls if you have them. If you have the 4 gauges down by the shifter its a really tight fit with the gauges. I'm very pleased with the adapter!!! If you want I can send you pictures of the Scosche installed. Wayne [ Wayne  Sep 20, 2014 ]
I have a 2011 camaro. This adapter integrates everything except the usb and the temperature. This unit is not completely all touch either, it has a total of 8 push buttons. [ mike  Sep 19, 2014 ]
I installed mine on a 2011 Camaro and the touch buttons as well as the screen control buttons work just fine. [ RON  Sep 18, 2014 ]
Yes I have the sane vehicle and it works well if you are doing stereo swap for a double din unit. [ KEVIN P  Sep 18, 2014 ]
Yes this is what I bought and it said 2010-2013 [ chris  Sep 18, 2014 ]
Yes Alexis I just bought mine I had the same thing but yes you will be able to use your touch screen climate controls. [ Christopher  Sep 18, 2014 ]
Yes, this adapted takes the place of your factory ac/heat dials. It turns it into buttons and uses the touchscreen. [ TIMOTHY  Sep 18, 2014 ]
It works great for my 2010 ss. I replaced those bulky know with this Scotch kit and it worked great. Only issue I saw was it is a 2 piece design with a plastic welded joint. That joint wanted to break during installation because there is a lot of wiring you have to stuff in behind it. I simply applied a liberal amount of J.B. weld epoxy (steel reinforced) on that entire joint and had no problem after that. This thing looks great installed, AND you can paint it to match if you want. I didn't paint it, and it looks factory installed. Great purchase! Oh and if you have trouble installing yourself, Crutchfield customer service is amazing. [ Charles  Sep 18, 2014 ]
Yes you will be able to use this. People told me it looks a lot better with this instead of the knobs! [ MEGAN  Sep 18, 2014 ]
The factory dial knobs will be removed and the climate controls will be on the new buttons on the side and the touch screen [ Justin  Sep 18, 2014 ]
Yes you will, the kit will do everything you could do from factory. [ Osvaldo  Sep 18, 2014 ]
