High quality but isn't a universal fit

Written By WLM, Old North State on Monday, August 25, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Well designed and seems to be of high-quality materials. Should work fine on standard headrests, but for those like my wife's Buick Enclave, where the headrests nest into the top of the seat back, this model will not work--there must be clear access to the headrest posts.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Exactly as described, very easy to install, kids love being able to see movies on their I pads. Should have done this long time ago. Paired with headphone I now have peace and quite in the car

Simple and dependable

Written by Ralph Graves, Staff Writer - Creative, on 1/14/2013 11:37:00 AM

I like a simple device that simply works — so I liked the holdUP p2. The plastic bracket is thick and has a solid feel to it. It will definitely hold an iPad® in place. The mount swivels, but not with full 360° motion. Rather, it can be turned in 45° intervals. That's a good thing, because it ensures that once the iPad is oriented properly, car vibration can't make it slightly list to the left or right.

It took a little bit of effort to pop the ball into the socket of the mount, but that's also a good thing. It fit tightly enough so that said ball-and-socket joint can hold the bracket in place on its own. Once the collar's tightened around it, you can be sure the assembly won't shift. And when you drop the back brace down to rest against the seat? Solid. Some might think the holdUP p2 a little over-engineered. Not me. I want my iPad to stay put on the back of the seat, and this mount is the one to do it.
