Features Overview: The Scosche Wireless RF Remote Car Kit includes a 7-button wireless remote, a steering wheel mount, a plug-in iPod module, and an A/V patch cable. The RF remote control can operate your iPod or iPod nano from a distance of up to 150 feet. Steering Wheel Mount: The remote control can be mounted into the supplied steering wheel cradle. The cradle can be attached to the steering wheel with the included hook & loop strap. Compatibility: The supplied RF receiver module fits into any iPod, including the nano, with a standard dock connector. The bottom of the module has a female dock connector to allow you to plug in other cables for charging or connecting to your computer. Note: The iPod shuffle is not compatible since it does not have a dock connector. This car kit is compatible with the Apple iPhone when the iPhone is in iPod mode for music audio playback only. This car kit does not operate any phone functions of the iPhone. RF Remote: The included wireless remote control operates on radio frequencies, instead of infrared, giving you an extended operating range of up to 150 feet. RF remote commands do not require line of sight with the receiver, and can travel through walls. The remote can be hand-held, or used in the supplied steering wheel mount. The remote has 7 buttons with the following functions: Track Back/Track Forward: Press and release to move to the beginning of the current track (back) or the beginning of the next track (forward). Press and hold to rewind or fast forward through the track. Play List Select: Used with the function button, you can move forward or backward through the list of available playlists. Pause/Play/Sleep: Press and release to toggle between Pause and Play. Press and Hold to put iPod into sleep mode. Volume Up/Down: Press and hold to reduce or increase the volume Shuffle Play: Press to randomly play songs on the iPod Power Requirements: The RF receiver, which draws power from the iPod, uses an advanced power down mode to minimize battery usage. After 20 minutes of sensing no music playing or no remote commands, the unit will go into an advanced battery save mode. The receiver will automatically re-power itself when it detects music playing or a remote command of 0.6 seconds or more. A/V Cable: The included A/V cable allows you to connect your iPod to the auxiliary input of your car stereo. In addition to the stereo RCA audio plugs, the cable also includes a composite video connection. It will also not control the Playlist function but other than that, the remote performs flawlessly and instantaneously with the iTouch, even when the unit is not in line of sight. I use it on a motorcycle and the unit is actually in my jacket inner pocket. No problems whatsoever. Highly recommended and well constructed. 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 Excellent Accessory Written By Daniel, Oak Ridge, Tennessee on Sunday, April 06, 2008 Perfect addition to the iTouch. Strapped to your steering wheel, it provides truly keep-eyes-on-the-road operation. Then, when you get to work, you can remove the remote from the steering wheel holder and take it inside with your iTouch and use it on your desktop. The remote uses two CR2025 batteries, while the part that plugs into the iTouch draws it power from the player. For some reason Scosche does not publish any information about the batteries. The only negative I've found is that the playlist button does not work with the iTouch. This is because the unit was designed before the iTouch was released, and Apple changed the communications. But, there is no reason for this capability anyway because you'd have to look at the iTouch to select the playlist, and that defeats the purpose of the remote (in my mind). 6 out of 6 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
