Features

Magnetic Smartphone Mount: The Scosche MagicMount Dash is a new magnetic mounting system for conveniently mounting smartphones and more. Just hover your device near the magnetic surface and it instantly locks securely in place. Its sleek cradle-free design uses high-powered magnets to secure your device where you use them most. Place your device at any angle for convenient viewing. The MagicMount can be used on the road, at the office, or in the home.

Installation: This magnetic MagicMount Dash smartphone system consists of a self-adhesive, magnetic "MagicMount" and a magnetic "MagicPlate". The MagicMount is a self-adhesive magnetic mount which adheres to your dashboard or other flat-surface with integrated 3M tape. The other side of the MagicMount consists of an integrated magnet to mount your smartphone, tablet, or GPS device using the included MagicPlate. Two MagicPlates are included; one small for smartphones or smaller GPS units, and one large for tablets or larger GPS units. The MagicPlate adheres to the back of your device or case with 3M tape. The other side of the MagicPlate is a magnetic which magnetically attaches on to the installed MagicMount.

Angle Adjustment: Once your device is installed on the MagicMount, you can angle, swivel, rotate, or tilt your device for the best viewing angle.

Compatibility: The Scosche MagicMount Dash system works with Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablets, portable GPS navigators, and other compact portable devices.

Note: Scosche does not recommend using magicMOUNT for any device with an external hard drive (iPod Classics, Zunes, etc.).

Customer Q&A

Q
Can you mount this to a backup camera monitor or will the magnets mess it or ruin the monitor?

A
I'm not sure why you'd want to install a smartphone mount onto a video monitor but the provided self-adhesive 3M tape works well for securing the magic mount to almost any surface. Most vehicle monitors are LCD and will not be affected or damaged by the magnets. I hope that helps. My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Ryan

Q
Is there any way the magnetic field could damage or interfere with an iPhone?

Kerry, I asked an Apple store rep. and he said the new phones are not effected by magnets unless extremely powerful. They are built off different principles nowadays. My Iphone often sits in my pocket next to a strong money clip magnet most of the day also. I have had no issues with this mount and find it to be the most convenient mount out there. I sometimes hold the bottom of the phone if I am pressing on it a lot. I used the large magnet option, but they give you a smaller one that may work also but not sure, I would probably stick with the larger to give the most hold. I purchased one for my wife's vehicle. The key is to mount the base to a clean, as flat as possible dry spot and apply well so it stays on. If not, there are ton of heavy duty double sided tapes out there to start over.

So far so good. No interference whatsoever.

I doubt it. I put the magnet between the case and the phone. There was no problem with the phone sticking to the mount and no phone interference problems noted.

I don't know the answer to that.

I own an HTC One X, my wife has a Samsung Galaxy III mini. No problems with either. We both like it. I don't imagine there would be any issues with the iPhone. The mount comes with 2 adhesive plates, black (1" sq. & 1.75" x 2.5").

The part that adheres to the dash is 1 1/8" inches by 2"

The magnetic surface on which you mount your phone or tablet device is 1 3/4" square. The magnet is very strong so don't worry about your device falling off. I guess it would go flying in a violent stop but pretty secure otherwise. I've used it for my iPhone and iPad Mini with no problems. The only grip I have about this item is the adhesive that attaches it to your dash, in hot weather the temperature in your car gets very hot and adhesive becomes soft and will come off the dash etc.
