Nissan install kit for 2007 Versa

Written By lksmile, Anaheim, CA on Saturday, December 28, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This kit fit my car perfectly with no problems.
Pros:
Easy to install and fit the radio I bought with no alterations needed.
Cons:
The instructions for the wiring harness were not clear. A call to tech services cleared up all problems and the raido worked on the first try.

Good fit, but could have used some better instructions

Written By Boothby171, Glen Burnie, MD on Saturday, December 14, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Was easy enough to use, but I felt as if the screws I used to screw into the plastic of the catch-bin were going to break it. Overall: Acceptable, but could have been better.
Pros:
Cheap, and it worked...eventually
Cons:
Wasn't entirely clear how to position the radio and the little catch-bin. Also, the catch-bin had holes in the rear end, and I had to tape them over to keep things from one day falling out through them.

Nissan Versa Kit

Written By GaryMo, San Antonio, Tx on Tuesday, June 18, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Easy install! Poor directions on removing existing panels to gain access. Panel comes forward and then up, don't pull up on the panel - it will break some tabs. Kit did not include nor inform me that I needed an antennae adapter cable too. This should have come with the kit or at least shown up as an option on the Crutchfield website.

Overall - love the kits available, but needs a little more tweaking to get my 5 stars. Yes, I would use this kit again.
Pros:
Easy install!
Cons:

Barely Works [2009 Nissan Versa PLEASE READ]

Written By Liskrig, Mass on Wednesday, May 08, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If you need an install kit for a 2009 Nissan Versa, be aware that this BARELY gets the job done. I would have been willing to pay triple for a pair of metal brackets, and ALL THE NEEDED HARDWARE. The factory radio in the Nissan Versa has the brackets for the double DIN radio riveted into the actual radio. There are 2 screws that come with the radio, and nowhere in the Crutchfield instructions does it specify that additional screws are needed. I had to sacrifice 2 screws from the mounting of the radio just to get this to stay put properly.
Pros:
It was part of the "$15 of Installation Gear Included" deal so I didn't pay full price
Cons:
It was part of the "$15 of Installation Gear Included" Brittle plastic Not all hardware is included Difficult to seat properly After the install, it doesn't sit as neatly as I would have hoped

Versa Kit

Written By Jay R., Texas on Friday, October 05, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This kit fits correctly and looks nice in the Nissan Versa. If you're installing a stereo in a Versa that had no system at all you will have to use the bolts that go into the side of the factory piece of plastic that goes in the place where you put the stereo.
Pros:
Fits well, decent construction
Cons:
Had to use bolts/screws from the car to get it to stay correctly

Although this was my first self-install, I know it looks decent...

It IS a universal kit. I wish it had the top trim.
Pros:
Good fit and easy to figure out
Cons:
Universal kit - missing top trim

Get METRA 99-7603 NISSAN VERSA KIT

Written By Sasha, Brooklyn, New York on Sunday, March 18, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Nissan Versa Kit is cheaply made and looks bad with the stereo in the dashboard. After Google, I got METRA 99-7603 NISSAN VERSA 2007-2011 INSTALL KIT and it looks VERY GOOD in versa 2010 SL. Thanks Crutchfield for a free gift by this kit but this is not the best gift from them you can get. One star only for kit, not for BEST services from Crutchfield.

Standard Install Kit

Written By Colin, Long Beach, CA on Wednesday, February 01, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

There was nothing wrong with my kit, but it also wasn't anything amazing or special. I don't see any reason to rate it perfect. I did have one issue, but that could be blamed more on specific circumstances or the stereo, not the kit. And that was that the screws supplied with my stereo which secure the stereo to the kit were not long enough. I could get them started but it was putting way too much pressure on the kit and since they were designed to be flush mount screws the plastic of the kit was bowing. It was a simple fix though, I just picked up some new screws from the local hardware store for about $1
Pros:
Works
Cons:
None

terrible...but not many other options

Written By HotCarl, Houston, TX on Sunday, December 25, 2011
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This kit fits a nissan versa just fine...until you put the dash panels back on. Then you realize that it is almost 1/4" off! Had to manually elongate the holes and test fit numerous times in order to make it work at all. It also doesn not allow the use of the trim ring that comes with a single DIN unit leaving gaps around the install. This thing leaves MUCH to be desired. I would have used the stock metal brackets, but they wouldnt work with the plastic pocket included in the kit. Be prepared for a poor fit and lots of hand fitting.
Pros:
it was cheap...
Cons:
terrible fit

Could fit better

Written By Kristen, Teaneck, NJ on Sunday, October 02, 2011
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Everything with my stereo installation went pretty smoothly, except for when it came time to put the dashboard pieces back onto my car. There are two plastic brackets in this kit. They screw onto the stereo and the little cubby hole. But when you tighten the screws, it causes the front of the bracket to bulge out in the front. This made it so that I couldn't click the dashboard back into place. I ended up throwing out the plastic brackets and using the original metal brackets that were holding my original stereo into my car.

It really doesn't fit very well

Written By Richard, Orlando, FL on Saturday, August 20, 2011
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Because it doesn't fit in the standard way, the instructions should be clearer on how to make it fit. I see some people got the trim installed, but I couldn't. I saw one picture illustration, that showed how it had to be done on some Japanese cars. I think it was provided by the radio. Since the instructions were made up for my car, I think they should have been detailed for the different kind of installation necessary for my car. This is my third radio for three different cars and this is the only set of instructions that I have been unhappy with using.

Excellent unit

Written By FondDuLac, Wellesley, MA on Saturday, January 29, 2011
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Once all closed up, the finish is first-rate.

Only gripe: the documentation could be even more idiot-proof than it is. Fortunately, the
phone support was excellent. All my dealings with this company made me feel like I was
dealing with a family-run outfit that put a premium on excellence and customer satisfaction.
Thank you, guys.

Nissan Versa Dash Kit

Written By AJ Bane, Natural Bridge, VA on Tuesday, November 23, 2010
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This kit is not very good quality! I installed it in my Versa and when i went to put the dash
trim peice back on it would not fit and click into place so i removed the stereo and done
some sanding on the install bracket and now it fits fine and everthing clicks into place
correctly.

Does the trick, but .....

Written By kgb, Sewell, NJ on Tuesday, October 05, 2010
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

sides of the mount come all the way to the trim, preventing you from getting the ring around the unit, leaving slight gaps around the stereo. Also, instructions should have stressed where to place the unit as I had to remove and reinstall several times in order to get the trim back on ok. If the unit is too far forward it pushes the mount sides outwards which is too wide for the factory trim. I might take everything apart and maybe use the factory metal mounts instead as they sit back farther. (but then again, maybe not)

Fitted perfectly on my 2011 Nissan Versa. Using car stereo Sony MEXBT3800U.
There was some confusion while fitting the stereo to this unit, but Crutchfield
tech helped.
