Important Note: Some 6-1/2" speakers use a larger frame and require a larger cutout. We call these 6-3/4" speakers, and they won't fit in this bracket. This bracket will only work with speakers that require a cutout diameter of 5-1/8" or less.
Bracket did not align to the front mounting box. Some modifications had to b made and extra screws to ensure a good sealed box
Pros: It worked, but with modifications made
Cons: Bracket doesn't align with existing screw holes, so extra screw holes are required around a Jeep wrangler front speaker box
Worked exactly as advertised to make it so my speakers in my dakota went right in without having to drill holes or uave to custom fit anything. Also came with all the screws and such you would need.
Pros: Everything mentioned above
Cons: Plastic could become brittle but seems sturdy
For a "universal kit", this product performed like a "custom kit" for me. Used these brackets to mount four new Pioneer speakers in a 1998 Dodge Durango. Install was quick and easy.
Pros: Easy to use bracket kit. Worked perfect for me.
These adapters were recommended to install Kicker 40CS654's as 2013 Hyundai Veloster rear seat left and right speakers. No adapter was needed for the left-hand speaker, and the adapters were too small to fit the cutout on the right-hand side (third door) - too small even if I had drilled the door. I ended up sandwiching the inner door skin between both the adapters (fortunately I didn't need one on the left-hand side) and using the grill supplied with the Kicker to stabilize the assembly. Screws furnished with the adapters were worthlessly small and puny (6-32 x too short) so a couple trips to the hardware store were necessary to get the appropriate hardware. All said and done the installation looks and sounds great, but these adapters are definitely NOT appropriate for this application.
Cons: wrong size, worthless hardware
I bought These adapters for rear door speakers in a 2016 Subaru Forester. I had an extra pair of Polk db5.25's sitting around and decided to install them in the new car. One odd thing is that Subaru installs 5.25 speakers in what appears to be 6.5" holes. No biggie, like I said, I already had these and bought the adapters. These adapters could have not fit the factory hole any better. I didn't have to drill ANY new holes! For the adapter OR the speakers. Made the install quick and easy.
Pros: No drilling holes of any kind in the 2016 Forester. Plenty of existing hole patterns for other cars as well. Made quick easy work out what can be a nightmare job.
I didn't really needed these for my 1999 Toyota Camry. It doubled the amount of work needed to install the speakers. Plastic ring is barely bigger than door speaker openings. I ended up drilling new holes and using speed clips to mount my new speakers.
Cons: The head on the "elevator bolts" to mount the speaker to the ring is really small and could slip out of mounting holes.
The installation notes indicated I may have to grind away some plastic at the end of the 3 tabs. For my Dodge Dakota, I did and they "fit somewhat". However, the overall assembly of the original enclosure ring, adaptor, speaker and grill looked kludgey at best and did not work with the door panel. So I punted using these adaptors. Instead I routed a rabbit in the original speaker enclosures and chopped off and reused the metal body ring of the original speakers to sandwich in the new speakers. I used double sided tape to reattach the original cloth grill rings, and the resulting assemblies fit perfectly.
Pros: Good for quick speaker retrofit
Cons: Not good for seamless speaker replacement
The brackets were ok, for my application it was necessary to modify where i screwed the speaker for one hole. They for the most part fit pretty well but not perfect. I have a jeep wrangler.
Not sure why all the bad reviews. With a little imagination and a drill, it will work pretty much with anything. Worked great in the roll bar on my jeep JK. Just had to drill one extra hole.
Pros: Does what it is designed for. Universal mount.
Cons: May have to get creative. But no big deal.
I bought Polk 6.5" Speakers. The speaker factory mounting bracket did not line up with this mounting bracket. I spent along time trying to figure everything out on the rear doors. Eventually I went ahead and broke off some tabs from the factory truck bracket and got this bracket to work together but had to use both brackets. This is the only way I could get the speakers installed. I do not know if this is a common or not but it was the only way I could see to get it to work. Had to do a lot of modifying but did get this to work on my truck.
Pros: Got it done...
Cons: Had to do a lot of modifying. Time consuming. Would have been a lot easier if the bracket would have match up with everything
Worked as needed connected into car factory amplifier
Pros: So Far Good
Product did not match Chevy colorado
Cons: Waste of time
Used these to install Kicker CS65's. Had to drill one additional hole in each adapter as they did not line up with the factory soundbar clip. The "cinch screws" flange is only a hair larger than the hole and pulled into the adapter upon tightening, which makes me concerned that they may pull thru on a hard bump and let the speaker fall. Had to use some weatherstripping between the adapter and soundbar to prevent rattling from the two plastics(adapter was flat, soundbar not so much). I used the factory jeep grill covers with no problem.
Pros: Does the job, stout plastic, all holes lined up except for one(easy fix)
Cons: Would of liked to have more robust cinch screws
These work really well for me. Very durable. As always Crutchfield is awesome.
Pros: Very Durable
These adapter rings were easy to use and fit perfect in my door. I did have to drill one small hole in the plastic to get a perfect fit.
Pros: Very simple to use. Fits most speaker brackets. Crutchfield provided them Free.
Easy to use - needed minor modification to work with my 2015 Wrangler.
Pros: Easy to install.
Adapter doesn't fit rear Chevy Traverse speaker holes without modification. Trying all different hole patterns supplied, the adapter is not a good fit. The speakers are hanging on my a half a screw hole width. It should come with deeper/longer self tapping nut clips to use the one factory hole and then the 2 other supplied outer holes on the bracket.
Used for installing 6 1/2" speakers in a 2006 Colorado. The brackets seem to lack the hardware needed to attach to the speakers. I ended up drilling more holes and attaching the speakers to both the door and the bracket.
The brackets fit the new speakers themselves just fine but did not line up with the panel the speaker bolts to. I had to drill new holes in the adapter and then it worked. Vehicle was a 02 GMC Envoy
Pros: Fits the new speaker great
Cons: Did not line up with the mounting holes in any orientation
Pros: made installation easy
Worked as designed, the bracket flexes when secured which causes vibration on the low end, I added an RVT silicone gasket and it solved the problem. Also the provided bolt/nut/washer that's included did not work as designed, I secured the adapter to the speaker with 4 of the included self tapping screws. TIP: Pre fit everything and remove all the extra mounting tabs prior to securing to the speaker. Cant really complain about free stuff though.
Pros: Cost, or lack there of.
Cons: suggested speaker mounting hardware not sufficient.
For 2009 Chevy Colorado Extended Cab. The bracket came with hardware. It uses a very small screw (flush screw) to secure the speaker to the bracket. I didn't have to cut the metal on the door. Yes, the metal did extended into the speaker area of the bracket but not far enough to interfere with the speaker so I didn't trim it as suggested in the installation instructions. I used the factory nutplate to start in the installation of the bracket with speaker installed. I centered the speaker in the factory cutout and tightened the first screw in the factory nutplate. Once that was tight, I used two 10 X 3/4 self tapping screws and secured the bracket. Once I tightened the last bracket screw. the speaker popped out due to the flimsy thin flush screw. So I used the self tapping screw, 2 each, and secured the speaker to either the plastic bracket only or the plastic bracket and sheet metal of the door. Speaker held on tight and the previously 4 installed flush screws were left in there since they didn't bother the speaker. I didn't use the flush screws on the other 3 speakers. First speaker installation is always a trial and error installation. Once you figure it out, the rest go smooth.
Pros: Definitely helped on installing after market speakers.
Cons: The only con is the thin flimsy flush screws used to secure the speaker to this bracket.
Crutchfield sent me two sets of these to install my Kicker 6-1/2s in my 2015 Wrangler Unlimited. They could definitely be better. In the rear soundbar, you have to either keep rotating the brackets until they fit or do some trimming to either the brackets and/or your vehicle. Also, the screws included to hold the brackets to the speakers were a bit short, 2-3 threads more screw would have been perfect and still not interfered with the installation.
Pros: They do attach your speakers to the mounts.
Cons: Oddly shaped for installing into the mounts. Attachment screws to attach brackets to speakers could be longer.
The correct adapter to mount the new speaker in the factory holes.
could use some more instruction on how to use, but after 1st speaker installed it went very smoothly
Simply put, these were the wrong brackets for my car (2015 Honda Civic Si Sedan). They came free with the Kicker speakers I had purchased, however, they did not fit. The installer tech was able to reuse the brackets from the factory speakers with some modification.
Pros: Looks like a nice quality product.
Cons: Wrong brackets for my car.
These worked great. But as with many things in, not enough fasteners to mount bracket to speaker (six screws supplied, eight needed.) When I called Tech to remedy problem, the young man tried to convinceme each speaker only needed three. After much discussion, i convinced him he was incorrect. He's sending me another set of brackets that will contain the screws I need to finish install.
Pros: Worked great when supplied with correct number of fasteners.
Cons: Note to Crutchfield - add some extra fasteners. Cheaper in long run.
I ordered a pair of Kicker 40CS654 for my '02 Chevy Avalanche, for the rear door, and these were free with the order. The speakers fit in the factory screw holes so I didn't use them.
With these free supplied adapters very little fitting was necessary
Pros: Fit stock locations
Worked just fine, didn't have to use for my rear speakers but it made mounting the front super easy!
Pros: Helps secure the speaker
Speaker bracket did exactly what it is explained to do. I had to grind down the corners a bit to fit, total job took 15 mins from removal of door panel to finishing the job.
Pros: Minor adjustments for a perfect fit
This bracket was very helpful to make the speaker installation fast and easy. My installation required the long tabs cut off and I also trimmed the other excess ears. After re-installing the door panel on the first door I knew what to do and had the speaker/bracket assembly ready to go right in and completed the install in half the time on the second speaker. Crutchfield is great to provide both brackets and wiring harness adaptors with their products and makes the installs much more enjoyable.
The brackets worked fine for the most part, I did have to modify the long tab and cut a quarter inch off so it would fit. I ended up shortening the other two about 1/8 of an inch so it fit smoother. They were a little too thick for the tabs to snap back in. Once I figured out the process for one door, I repeated for each door and the process was quick. Remember to take the rubber ring off the old speakers and apply it to the back of the adapter to reduce rattle before you put it back into the door spacer.
Pros: After modification fit fairly well.
Cons: Needed modification and a bit thicker than stock speakers.
They do what they are supposed to do and are included free with your speaker purchase. With that said, the plastic has a lot of flex to it and you are not going to get a tight seal. You can see the whole bracket bow inward a bit as you torque down the speaker. I use Dynamat on both sides to act as a gasket and element any unwanted sound from the plastic vibrating against the cars metal. It seems to work. I'm sure there are better brackets available but not for $0.
Pros: Free with speakers Works as described
Cons: Cheap build quality = flex and poor seal
Attaching these brackets to the speakers wasn't too difficult, however, when it came time to mount up to my 08' Wrangler, it hit a snag. There was simply no way possible to alight 3 holes to the factory mounts in any configuration without intervention. Fortunately, only one of the holes on the long tab needed to be expanded to allow it to bolt up. Quick and easy mod with the cordless drill had me up and running moments later, but it was annoying that it wasn't just a simple conversion.
Pros: In theory, worked ok
Cons: Having to modify the bracket to make it work.
Crutchfield recommended that it would fit my 1998 Nissan Frontier but it did not fit. Plate would have been better if you needed to drill your own holes. I would have had less confusion. Normally Crutchfield has good recommendations for adapter brackets.
Pros: Got it to work eventually
Cons: Took a long time to figure out that it didn't fit.
Not sure if I got the wrong item or what but these were horrible for my application. 1, one, uno hole lined up in my 2005 Sienna. I finally broke out the drill to make them work. Made a 30 minute job into an hour and a half. The other side went quicker because I had every tool I own in the van.
Cons: Did not fit.
These could come in handy but in my truck they were not needed. I did use them as a template to drill my holes, that was nice. Also they were free...
Pros: Free good for template
Cons: Not needed
Makes installation easier. I just needed to trim a bit of the edges of one tab with an end cutter.
Pros: Made installation very simple
Cons: The trimming was easy but still needed to modify it to make it work.
Easy to use
they didn't fit near as well as the ones that came with my kappa speakers
does what is suppose to nothing special
Custom fit any size speaker to vehicle everything included speaker mounting bolts, speed nuts and new screws
Pros: Free with purchase
Cons: Had to file holes since I reused factory screws to get them in
The bracket made installation much easier. However, I had to modify the original bracket assembly that came with the 2002 Dodge Durango to make it work with this bracket. After the modification, mounting the speaker back into the door was very easy.
Pros: Free with speaker purchase and make the speaker installation much easier
Cons: Took a modification to the original Dodge speaker bracket to work with this bracket
Plenty of pre-drilled holes and screws for many mounting options.
Pros: Very universal
Cons: Still had to drill an additional hole
Does not fit without drilling new holes
Although the adapter brackets worked fine, they are a little Too universal, in that drilling into your door frame is necessary. I have used other brands that required no drilling and provided more of a factory fit.
Pros: Speakers fit ring well.
Cons: Drilling is required.
Had to do some minor expanding of the holes on the larger tab to get the speakers to line up and get them to fit back in the roll bar position. Other than that, good product.
The adapters are perfect for this car (HHR).
Pros: Fit the HHr and made mounting the speakers very easy.
Used these to put 5-1/4" speakers into a 6-1/2" hole for my rear speakers in my '99 Dodge Durango. They worked pretty well, however, it did require some modification. I used the factory spacer, and the holes on the bracket didn't quite line up, and one of the tabs on the bracket is too long. I had to widen the holes slightly with a drill, and trim the over sized tab to fit into my factory spacer. I was able to use my factory screws and as a result have a pretty clean install.
Pros: Work pretty well, cost effective
Cons: May require modification to fit correctly, made of plastic
Adapter worked great
Pros: Actually worked
Cons: Little machine screws were too small
After pre-assembly, I found the brackets would not align with the rear door factory mounting holes on my 2000 suburban (premium non Bose system). I found that the Kicker 41dsc654 61/2" speaker standard mounting holes were a perfect match to the factory holes, I could even use the factory T-15 screws. The front mounting brackets supplied work like a charm.
Pros: Nice to have if needed.
Cons: Not needed for this application.
These did not fit my 2001 Xterra. I was able to get the Kicker 40CS654 speakers I bought to fit directly into the factory mount with out using this mount. When I tried to use this mount, the screws lined up underneath the speaker making it impossible to screw the mount into both the speaker and the factory holes.
Pros: Probably works great for other vehicles
Cons: Doesn't fit Xterra 2001
What an awesome design these things are. I used them for my 6.5 Kicker 2-ways and it made the installation much easier especially working overhead. I put them in a jeep sound bar.
Pros: A must have.
Were these supposed to fit into my car? Seems more like of a waste of money to Crutchfield to ship these brackets that are almost entirely useless!
Pros: They were free?
Cons: Everything else.
Product works great, simple to install
Pros: Quality, easy install
Not very useful in my Colorado... may be better in other applications
Cons: Didn't work well in my truck
Can't give a useful review because they were unusable for my application
excellent hardware, made installation super easy.
Pros: ease of installation
These adapters will work on lower end 6.5" speakers as the inner diameter is limited to 5&1/8". There is much more room to fit a speaker in my jeep unfortunately these are the only adapters. They do what they are supposed to do however don't seal up very well on there own. Check Crutchfield vehicle fit net guide as it seems to be limited to this adapter not the jeep itself
Cons: Cheap, small cut out diameter, needs sealed
Only 2 of 3 screw holes line up. Had to screw the 3rd screw into the plastic. Not blaming Crutchfield because this is what the supplier said would work.
Cons: Only 2 of 3 screw holes line up. Had to screw the 3rd screw into the plastic. Not blaming Crutchfield because this is what the supplier said would work.
Advertised as used to install 6 1/2 speakers without needing to drill. Shape of bracket seemed as though it was intended to match shape and size of factory speaker. 2 of 3 outside tabs matched perfectly to speaker. 3rd tab was slightly out of line and hole didn't come close. Mounting hole in that tab should be a long groove like in stock speakers to allow flexibility of where the screw will go. I had to drill a hole but if design was a little better, would not have been needed.
Pros: Strong durable material
great fit...made install very simple and quick.
Pros: great product
Still had to drill my own holes. Not a huge issue, but was still needed. Clips didn't fit as well.
Cons: Still need to drill.
nice to have but needed to drill a little bit. Better than drilling into door.
Pros: Easier install Free
Cons: not quite perfect
2002 GMC sierra crew cab. there is no way these would work for the rear doors. luckily if you order the kenwood KFC 6.5" you can kind of cram those in to the factory mounts and throw these in the garbage.
These are junk. They had did not have mounting holes to match the three-bolt layout of my Camry. This is easily overcome however. The bigger problem is that they are incredible flimsy. In order for a speaker to work well, it has to be held rigidly so that the speaker cone moves, moving air/creating sound. These flimsy brackets allow the speaker frame to vibrate, so that it is not able to impart sufficient motion to the speaker cone. Also they make it very difficult to achieve any degree of air tightness. Both factors, but especially the flimsiness, have a large effect on bass response. I was able to mount my speakers directly to the door without using the bracket, and bass response improved considerably.
Cons: Flimsy, leaky, lots of hole patterns but none fit.
Had to drill my own holes
Not that helpful to install in my Jetta. Would've been easier to drill new hole in the door(which I ended up doing on the 4th speaker). The fit with the bracket was fiddly and the door panel didn't really go quite back into place. These brackets were free with the speaker purchase, glad I didn't spend extra money on them.
Pros: None really
Cons: Poor fit
These didn't exactly fit as advertised. They barely fit the Kicker speakers and once installed, they were almost impossible to line up with the factory holes in the Forester's door panel. Called Crutchfield and they told me to drill my own holes... I bought an adaptor so I WOULDN'T have to drill my owl holes took 2x longer than it should have with these.
awesome accessory for the speaker install
Not even close to fitting my Kenwood KFC-1665S that I ordered. I drilled holes into the adapter so that I did not have to go through the whole modification to my '09 Chevy Cobalt old speaker housings. None of the bolt holes lined up like it said to my car. Made it work but it should not suggest it fits with products and vehicles it clearly does not.
Cons: Doesn't fit
Fits OK in the door of my 2004 Colordo. Re-uses one mounting hole, and requires drilling two holes for provided sheet metal screws.
Cons: requires drilling
Made install a breeze
Worked fine, but seemed kind of flimsy. I worried that I was going to break them during install.
Used adapters for 6-1/2" MTX Terminator653 speakers in front door panels. Needed to cut machine screws provided to mount speaker ring to adapters. Also, enlarged holes on adapter that mount to door panels. Installation looks clean and solid.
Pros: -sturdy built -all hardware included
Cons: -need to cut machine screws -need to enlarge door mounting holes, slight mis-alignment
Had to drill holes to fit. Thing had more holes in than a block of swiss bit could not align more than one. Had to drill the rrst
Well the adapter kit looked well thought out but the use of there very small stud like carriage bolts or whatever they were was counter productive. I think the use of small 6mm bolts and locknuts or even self-tapping screws.
Pros: Well thought out design
Cons: Small useless hardware
Very good product
Pros: Easy to used
Things like these kits save so many headaches and are what separates Crutchfield from so many others. It makes my installation a professional install and saves time too.
Pros: adapts to many fitting scenarios
Cons: none I know of
These work great in my '99 Dakota. Fits really well, easy to install. I'm pretty confident that even someone that has no mechanical skills can install these with no issues.
Pros: Good price. Fits in stock location as advertised.
Product should have bolted right in but unfortunately did not. Could only get 2 screws in and the other holes didn't match up. Had to drill another hole to get a snug fit into my sound bar.
Perfect fit in my Jeep Wrangler sound bar.
The holes do not align to the door for my 370Z. I don't understand why the directions say it's required. Overpriced piece of plastic that doesn't fit
Pros: It's a small spacer.
Cons: Holes align to nothing. Will require customization to use.
Speaker has a bunch of holes for universal fit and had to try a couple of ways and fiddle around to get the right combination. Ended up the only way to get the right fit was using the outer slotted holes in the speaker and the outer slotted holes in the bracket, making it a bit fiddly to assemble nicely. Once together that way, worked perfectly. If door mounting, you'll probably have way more trouble getting the door panels off than anything else (RTFM, baby! And buy some cheap Harbor Freight trim panel tools).
door side of the mounting screws are rivet like things that sink into the plastic, so one could over tighten and pull them through, especially if mounting in a slot. I can see why they do this, so they won't interfere with flush. Just snug them until the rivet pulls flush, then get a drop of locktite or fingernail polish on the threads on the speaker grill side, being careful not to get it on the speaker... just a drop, let it wick into the threads.
Pros: Works well Crutchfield install parts usually make installation as easy as it can be, not always easy, but as easy as it can be.
Cons: not real easy assembly in my application, YMMV. If you can't get it, probably should have a pro installer do your work, so it's still 5 stars.
Nice and easy to install!!
These brackets came in handy, but were not an exact fit, requiring some drilling of screw holes in the door, despite what the instructions say.
Pros: Does adapt the speakers to the door holes.
Cons: Were not an exact fit, requiring some drilling of screw holes in the door, despite what the instructions say.
they didn't fit in my envoy
Cons:Crutchfield response on June 10, 2015 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Great idea, nice they are supplied, but only 2 out of the 3 screw tabs lined up with stock location. Ended up not using, just used self tapping screws to install speakers
Pros: Great idea if they fit
Cons: Didn't fit
Fill in gaps for stock/aftermarket conversion.
Pros: Easy mounting
Didn't work for front or back doors on a 2002 trailblazer
Pros: A lot of adjustments
Cons: Not big enough for the doors opening
I did not have to use these this time but i have had to use these on previous installs and they come in very handy. There's nothing worse than getting your door panels off, and mocking up the new speakers only to find that they're too deep and you don't have any spacers. These are great for spacers and also for use if the existing holes do not line up with the new speaker.
Pros: Easy to use Free with speaker purchase
This bracket worked great after I drilled a hole into it so it would fit
Pros: Fits speaker. Hold speaker in place
Cons: had to slightly modify for 3rd screw to fit
I purchased 6.5" speakers for the rear speaker location in my 2007 Eclipse because when I went to put 6.75" speakers into my shopping cart, I was told they didn't fit my car. When I took the rear speakers out of the car, they were 6.75", and the 6.5" speakers would not fit because the bolt pattern on the 6.5" speaker was too small . I then called Crutchfield, and told the CSR I needed an adapter to put a 6.5" speaker into a hole a 6.75" speaker came out of. I was told these adapters would do the trick. However when I went to install the 6.5" speakers with the adapter on them into the 6.75" hole, I could only mount them with two screws rather than 4. So, these adapters sorta work but are much less than an ideal solution since you can only use two screws to mount the speakers.
Pros: Allows you to mount the speaker somewhat
Cons: Doesn't provide a very good solution to mounting a 6.5" Speaker in a 6.75" hole.
Made the install so much easier
Pros: So glad these were included
'Mounting bracket' is a huge misnomer. None of the holes aligned with any of the holes in the speaker frame itself. The holes for the door frame aligned, but the bracket needed substantial trimming with my Dremel in order for it to be mounted in my truck and drilling of all new holes for the speaker to be mounted to it.
Pros: A starting piece for use in mounting a 6.5" speaker in a 6.75" hole.
Cons: If you don't have a Dremel and a drill and some skill in using both, the so-called bracket is worthless.
Did not work for my 01 Yukon xl rear doors!
Cons:Crutchfield response on May 18, 2015 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
it really is a great fit for my truck loved it
Made the install very easy and quick!
Pros: Easy to use
These fit the bill for mounting in original positions. These seem to be a bit flimsy and hardware is a little difficult to work with, but overall, they work as they should.
Cons: Flimsy, poor hardware
They work but the holes didn't match up for my mounting screws or for the speakers so I had to drill holes.
Pros: Your speakers can be installed.
Cons: Drill holes.
I installed new mid speakers in my 2000 Toyota Sienna. These brackets were included for free with the speakers, I was able to mount the speakers without using the brackets. Too bad I can't return them for credit.
terrible product even though its free. Requires you to drill holes and make cuts to the bracket and your car. It was impossible without expensive tools in my car because of the rear deck being so close to the rear windshield. Still not sure it would have worked because my speakers fit into molding and dont screw directly into sheet metal.
Pros: Its free with misfitting speakers.
Cons: Might work in some vehicles?
Pros: l was able to get them to fit the door frame and it holds my speakers in place we with no problem.
Cons: The brackets didn't fit perfectly And the holes didn't line up correctly.
I used these to mount Polk DXi651's in my 1998 Chrysler Cirrus front doors. I ended up having to trim some of the tabs off, in order to get them to work. This was not a big deal, just a minor inconvenience.
Pros: Worked as advertised.
Cons: Had to do minor trimming in order to get them to fit 98 Chrysler Cirrus.
Installation of new speakers is much easier with these brackets. I replaced all four door speakers in my 2004 Colorado crew cab. With these brackets, I only needed to drill two small screw holes for the front door speakers. As it turned out I didn't need these brackets on the back doors because I was able to use the existing factory brackets.
Pros: Simplifies speaker installation
Great product, easy to use
The Polks I bought had smaller attachment holes than the factory speakers and the adapter worked fine. I used a Dremel to remove excess plastic. The factory-to-adapter screws didn't let the speaker lay flat so I glued the adapter to the factory mount.(3M plastic emblem glue 03601) Then screwed the Polks to the adapter. Nothing unexpected.
Pros: Works for most installs.
Mounting bracket makes for easy install. Can be altered to fit about every need for an install.
Pros: Easy, Cheap, Works for most installs
Did not use during my installation. The mounts I bought previous worked out better.
Cons: Holes did not line up with the factory mounting holes in the rear doors of my Titan.
The bracket was used to attach 6.5" Kickers to the roll bar of a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. The speaker install - wiring an all - was simple. I had the hardest time with the bracket. The bracket seemed flimsy in comparison to the hefty speakers. The screens provided to attach the speakers were small and short. This made them difficult to attach--and I have small hands. Lastly, event though the install was tight the the bracket tended to vibrate and buzz - I alleviated this by separating the bracket from the roll bar with a rubber washer.
Pros: Many holes for aligning
Cons: Fit - had to drill additional hole in roll bar Material - flimsy Hardware - Barely fit speakers
Nice add on for install
This was the only bracket that "fit" my truck. The only problem is it didn't fit at all. I had to shave off a lot of extra material to make them fit. Other then that the product works fine.
Cons: Needed to be trimmed to fit properly
Does not fit the rear speaker opening. The front and rear speaker opening is exactly the same.
Cons: Wrong item
They fit fine into the mounting bracket but the mounting bracket holes don't line up with the soundbar wholes. Had to take out the clip from the soundbar to make them fit which causes the screw to not be able to screw in tight and create a minor rattle with heavy bass songs.
Building a bracket to cover all situations is difficult at best! These worked good for the most part but had to enlarge hole to pass wires through as connection to factory speakers were outside speaker and new speakers were inside!
Pros: Many hole and connection options
Cons: No hole to pass wiring through
The mounting bracket was adequate but had to be trimmed on all tabs and predrilled.
Pros: Worked adequately with speakers Infinity PR5200is and PR6500cs with some modification.
Cons: Thicker than original mounting hardware so this could affect grill/cover clearance. In the particular vehicle I installed them the aftermarket grills would not fit as they were to thick to allow for proper door panel reinstallation and the old speaker grills were not re-attachable, so you may need to come up with an alternative thin grill/cover. Also I had to predrill these adaptors to fit the new speakers.
The Scosche SAC-656 Speaker Mounting Brackets Crutchfield sent, in my opinion, didn't work and actually made installing the Kenwood KFC-G1620 speakers in my 2004 Envoy more difficult than it should have been and didn't use them for the front speakers. I carefully pried off the plastic support from the factory speakers, enlarged the speaker mounting holes so they would line up with factory mounting adapters holes and used the factory mounts in place of the Scosche SAC-656 Speaker Mounting Brackets. Also the two of the four Metra 72-4568 Speaker Wiring Harness ends weren't crimped properly and I ended up cutting off the solderless tips and soldering the wires directly to the speakers. Also, there was no information about what to do with the front factory tweeter and speaker harness. I disconnected and cut the factory harness to the front the speakers (including the tweeter?), and left in in place in case I need it in the future. Please be aware that I have been an ASE Mater Technician since 1978, was a GM Master Technician for 27 years before leaving the "cars wars" to be become a certified Automotive Technology instructor, am very particular about how I make car repairs, and it took my extensive skills and too many specialty tools to get these speakers in the way that, in my opinion, replicated the factor installation.
Cons: Not needed
I used these to install both front and rear speakers in my 2000 Durango. I slightly modifies the factory brackets to accept these rather then mounting these adapters directly to the door. Otherwise the speaker magnets would have been inside the doors. By retaining the factory mounds I didn't have to worry about any clearance issuesmwith the windows/regulators.
Pros: Plug and playm and free with the purchase ofspeakerxs.
Bolt on no mods needed
Pros: Best thing ever. No mods needed. Bolt right on
I expected a little more of a factory fit but this bracket did the trick. I didn't expect to need to drill but it was no big deal. Work decent but if you over tighten the hardware it will bend.
This product made installation in my 2001 Dakota much easier than I anticipated.
Universal fit. Name says it all. Just a little finagling and these worked for me. Just took a little longer than expected. I liked that the mounting holes for the speaker were correct. Seemed to mount nicely in my car front doors.
Pros: Heavy duty construction. Many mounting and screw locations.
Cons: Universal fit, that says it all.
I have to say I'm overall happy with this product. Although it wasn't as easy as put it in and your done. It is a universal piece with that being said there wasn't much modification needed to make it fit in my 99 concorde. solid materials and was a snug fit. Satisfied with my purchase.
Fit as described.
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Didn't seal completely at the door opening.
fit my car perfect it made the speakers i bought else where fit in the holes in my car
Pros: great fit
Cons: not really a con but i have nothing to say for a con
I only needed the mounting hardware for my install, didn't use the brackets. However they should work with many different type of cars and are built very sturdy.
Pros: sturdy construction comes with all hardware
Cons: didn't need for my install
This set of mounting brackets work like a charm. I had no issues installing them.
Product works great. Did everything it was intended
I received these with my speaker purchase, so I guess "beggers can't be choosers"...lol. They worked out pretty well once I go the hang of attaching them to the speaker itself. The cinch screws could used to be about 1-2mm longer to aid in assembly and the head about the same size wider. They matched up perfectly with the door mounting points.
Pros: - Good interface with the door. - Matching slots to choose from to match up with the speakers!
Cons: - Cinch screws a tad too short, but didn't preclude assembly.
Good concept if they fit right. I have a 2015 Wrangler and the fit the sound bar but not the speakers in the dash.
Pros: Good fit for sound bar.
Cons: Does not work for dash speakers.
took me an hour to finnany figure out how to mount the speaker on because the speaker was overlapping the holes that needed to be used for the door
Pros: they eventually worked
Cons: not a good fit. you have to make it work by messing around with it too much.
It was free with my order, seems to be sturdy enough. Good thing, because it didn't fit. Well at least until I did some drilling and then it barely fit. It was free so, whatever. If I had paid for it. it stunk, because it didn't fit without modification.
Cons: Doesn't fit without making it fit.
Did not even attempt to use. So much easier to reuse factory brackets after i pried the old speakers off them. Put these up to the old brackets and they are no where near the same size of shape.
Cons: Useless in a 2005 GMC Sierra Crew Cab.
The holes in the bracket did not match my 2013 Veloster or my rockford fosgate speakers. Had to drill my own holes in car door and bracket to make it work :-(
I dislike this product because it doesn't match my vehicle specs. 1999 Acura TL
Pros: This product could work with other vehicles
Cons: Doesn't match Acura TL specs even though it says it does!!!
needs cutting and drilling to match the spacer in a 99 Durango, but is required to install the speaker.
I got thisohnt with my purchase of speakers from here and I thought that they'd fit my car, 2001Camry, but I was wrong. I put the mount up to the door and nothing lined up, and I wasn't about to drill more homes in my door. I ended up modifying my old mount to get my speakers to fit properly.
Pros: Seemed like a good quality mount, flexible, almost universal.
Cons: Didn't come close to fitting my car
I bought these to make my install go smoother. I ended up cutting and altering until I got a, ok fit. they will work until I can get the correct fitting brackets. Oh well live and learn I suppose.
Cons: would have been an easy install if they fit my speakers.
Terrible , didn't fit my 04 monte carlo at all
Pros: Lots of mounting options
Cons: None that work for my front speakers
Worked well with my dodge neon sxt 2003. Only had to sand down the longest piece of plastic that fits into the molding. The little triangle pieces were super easy to snap off as well. Great product and I'm very pleased!
Pros: Fits well
Cons: Had to sand longest plastic piece down some in order for a flush fit
Great product to make installation easier. And when they are included with your speaker purchase what do you have to complain about. Thanks Crutchfield for making it as easy as possible as usual.
Pros: Makes installation easier than not having them.
Cons: None really. Had to break the tabs off for them to fit.
This worked, not much more to say than that.
Pros: low cost
Cons: some what flimsy
included w/ speakers - make installation a breeze
Had to drill holes lot of extra work but made it work
Cons: Did not fit well
Sturdy and well designed. I had to drill one hole in each to match the original screw pattern in the door of my 2006 Jaguar X-Type.
Pros: Sturdy and well designed.
Cons: Had to be slightly altered to fit the original screw pattern in my car.
I had to drill one hole to make this fit my 1999 LHS, but other than that, installation was a piece of cake.
Pros: Couldn't have installed the speakers without this. With it, it was easy.
Cons: Had to drill one hole.
Perfect for mounting the speakers in the front doors.
Pros: perfect fit
Many combinations. Makes installation really easy.
Makes installation a breeze
Pros: Simple to use
These adapters were supplied to fit into my 2002 Avalanche rear speakers. The instructions were not for my car and I was about to return them after trying all different angles to get the holes to line up. After about 30 minutes of frustration and fighting with the water barrier and its sticky glue, I was able to figure out I took out too much and the original adapter had to stay in place for the after market adapter to fit onto the original adapter. After that fiasco on the right door the left door was a snap!
Cons: No clear instructions
Helped with speaker mounting
Pros: Helped with speaker mounting.
Cons: Not a tight fit. Speakers had a gap.
Worked well in the end. Since these are so universal, it took a little time to figure out how best to mount my speakers to them, then how best to mount the brackets in my car. Be patient.
Ended up getting them to work, but for a jeep wrangler soundbar, it took some extra work to get all the holes to line up to the factory mounting points.
Cons: took some work to get them to work.
These just didn't work for me. They arent that bad of quality but the way they mount just didnt work for my setup.
Pros: Decent quality
Cons: Not that great for cobalts
I purchased two sets of Rockford Fosgate Prime R165-S to replace the factory speakers in my 01 Dodge Durango, Crutchfield sent me two sets of brackets for both the front and rear doors, only complaint i have with these brackets is the didn't exactly fit the new speakers or the doors all that well, I had to modify them all to make them work but in the end after some tweaking it did work out fine and the speakers work great, after the first door I learned the tricks and the rest went fairly quickly.
Pros: awesome that Crutchfield sends these extra handy things for free !! love it.
Cons: maybe i'm just a tard but i brackets needed some modifications befoe they would fit anything.
Wrong plate for this application. The Scosche kit can be used as a baseplate, but you need to have a spacer adapter to properly fit in the back door of the Jetta. Had to go to a local audio store and they knew exactly what I needed.
Pros: Could be used as a baseplate against the frame, I guess.
Cons: Absolutely the wrong adapter kit for this application.
Fast shipping, ease of use with new speakers
Pros: Straight forward, perfect fit.
Brackets way to small for door location on n rear doors. Had to reuse factory brackets for install.
Pros: At least were provided at no extra charge
Cons: Wrong size
They did what the package described. Plastic is a bit flimsy for the price it cannot be beat.
These were sent to me for my rear doors. as it turns out, they were not needed at all.
Pros: Very nice to have Crutchfield send them.
