These brackets allow you to install select 5-1/4" or 6-1/2" speakers into the speaker openings located in your vehicle.

Important Note: Some 6-1/2" speakers use a larger frame and require a larger cutout. We call these 6-3/4" speakers, and they won't fit in this bracket. This bracket will only work with speakers that require a cutout diameter of 5-1/8" or less.

  • Priced per pair

Includes Crutchfield's 60-Day Total Satisfaction Guarantee

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so, then check here for a list of parts. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Perfect

Written By Tim, Central, PA on Sunday, February 12, 2012

Worked perfectly for adapting 5 1/4" speakers to the original larger 6 1/2" door speaker holes of a '95 Jeep Cherokee. Made it quick and easy.
Pros:
Sturdy and plenty of holes to fit many applications.
Cons:
None

Speaker Brackets

Written By DK, Charleston, SC on Saturday, February 11, 2012

The brackets were much sturdier than those included with the speakers and provided more opitions for mounting.
Pros:
Several options for mounting the speakers in the door.
Cons:
Could have used 14 screws in the kit instead of 8. I had to use all 7 on one side since I needed to anchor the speakers to the mounting plates (4) and mount the bracket to the door (3).

Instructions were clear well written, ample hardware except that there was only 8, 4 for each speaker, small mounting screws, washers and nuts, no room for a lost small piece. You should include extra
Pros:
Original mounting hole perfect fit for top hole of new bracket
Cons:
even with all those holes in the bracket it still requires additional drilling

Chevy Trailblazer

Written By DrD, California on Tuesday, January 31, 2012

I replaced all four speakers in mu 2004 Chevy Trailblazer with Polk 6.5's. Cruthfield sheet for the vehicle made it straigforward to pull the door panels. Speaker install went OK but these mounting adapters were more trouble then help. After fiddling with it for an hour or so I called Cruthfield and after some chatting the guy says "well you'll need to grind some plastic". Duuuu. So then what help are the adapters? I did use them in the front doors, which required cutting and grinding of the adapter AND the stock housing but it was so much work that I just blew them off in the rears and mounted the speakers directly to the stock housing (had to cut some of the housing but then I just used 4 self taping screws to mount speaker directly to the stock housing.) All in all not a bad install but the hype on these adapters make it sound like they just bolt on. Maybe that's true in some other vehicle, BUT NOT MINE.
Cons:
Not a simple bolt on.

Dakota speaker adapter bracket

Written By , Milwaukee, wi on Saturday, January 21, 2012

These trucks use speakers with three mounting holes. The supplied adapters don't fit into the factory mounting bracket and have to be modified by trimming the tabs. The adapters are made of thin (1/8") plastic, not metal and the tabs are scored so they can be easily broken off if needed. Not the best way to mount speakers. I believe it lets them vibrate too much, deadening the sound. I guess that's why they're free.
