This installation kit wasn't easy from start to finish. I was installing speakers in my Acura TL and had to do a lot of drilling and modifying to make this work. I started out with infinity kappa 61/2" speakers and the mounting plates were to thick,so I switched to Boston acoustics 6 1/2" speakers instead for easier installation.
Pros: They worked after some modifying
Cons: should be 1/4" thinner
These adapters don't fit perfectly , I had to surround underneath the edge of the adapter to stop horrendous buzz
Cons: don't fir right
This bracket was provided to mount Kenwood KFC-1665S speakers in the front door of a 2009 Acura TSX. The bracket worked perfectly in regards to installation into the door frame but the Kenwood speaker frame blocked the main mounting screw located at the top of the bracket. I had to rotate the speaker so an open part of the speaker frame allowed the screw to not be blocked. This require me to drill new speaker mounting holes in the bracket. Not a big deal because the bracket is plastic, but still added some time to the total install.
Pros: Fit perfectly into the door frame.
Cons: Had to drill new speaker mounting holes due to conflict with top mounting screw.
worked great on 2016 Honda Accord Sport
These worked fantastic easy to install with no hassle.
Pros: Keeps your interior looking stock and sounds way better.
The bracket was made to fit the design of the speaker location quite well. The design made putting the speakers in the car quite easy. The problem was that the thickness of the bracket makes the speaker sit too high for the grate to fit back in place. The grate has a fin that drops down to enclose the speaker in a circle to direct all of the sound out of the speaker opening. This fin had to be cut out in order for the grate to fit back in and even then the grate does not fit properly. The thickness of the mounting bracket needs to be reduced by half. Otherwise it's a great product. The pre drilled mounting holes worked perfect for the infinity kappa 62.11 that I installed.
Pros: Allows aftermarket speakers to be installed relatively easily.
Cons: Too thick for a simple installation. I had to alter the speaker grate to allow this product to work. A thinner bracket would have solved this problem.
Good it fits
Pros: Correct size
These came free with the Infinity speakers I purchased for the front doors. They fit perfectly and installed quickly. Thank you Crutchfield!
Pros: Nice product and perfect fitment.
Used with Infinity Reference 6032cf on the front doors of my Acura RDX 07, tech package. The top hole that allows the factory screw to secure the speaker frame to the car did not clear the upper edge of the speaker. this would be fixed if the mounting bracket allowed the speaker to sit 1/4 in lower in the frame.
Pros: if the speaker was smaller, it would have been perfect.
Cons: screw hole pattern does not accommodate the top screw.
Needed to drill new holes and expand the mounting hole that screws into the car. Even after these mods I am still not pleased with the result. Better off making your own adapter.
Did not fit the holes on the rear deck of my 2014 Accord. Made installation take much longer than planned and was a pain in the rear.
Cons: Did not fit intended application
Fit speakers perfectly but had to make new holes.
Cons: only issue was the bracket itself didn't fit perfectly. Had to squeeze it in there.
really easy installation worked great on the Honda CRV front door speaker
Pros: a lot better then other mounting brackets that I have seen
My 07 Honda CRV uses one bolt at the top and two "pins" or clips at the bottom to connect the new bracket. The bracket fit well but only had that one point of attachment to also hold the speaker I was not confident that the speaker would not work itself loose. I added support with double-side sticky tape at several points on the speakers frame to insure it would stay on the bracket securely. The bracket did attach well to the door.
Pros: Correct size for my front doors.
Cons: The holes in the bracket and the holes in the Sony speaker frame did not align. There was no other bolts, screws or other means included with the bracket to attach the speaker.
I found this bracket to be slightly oversized compared to the speaker it was replacing.
Pros: made fairly quick work of installation
Cons: needed to file the door sheetmetal to use.
Not a perfect fit for 2014 Accord sedan. Holes did not line up well with factory positions. Speaker mounting to bracket very difficult. Had to do a lot of creative and non-professional adaptation to finish the install, and I am not happy with the end result. I've been a loyal Crutchfield customer for 15 years, but I think this will be my last speaker retrofit project. Too much work required.
Speaker mounted nicely to adaptor, but adaptors mounting holes to car didn't line up well. Had to do some grinding to make it fit.
Works well, fits fine . You may have to drill additional holes to match your specific speaker. Easy if you have a drill.
Pros: Fits well, looks sturdy - can't beat the cost from Crutchfield
Great fit. The speakers came with screws too long to fit. The bracket worked well with some larger short screws I found in my Tool Chest.
Adapters fit well..I'm glad they were included free with the JBL speakers I ordered
Pros: Good fit, and were included free with JBL speakers
fit fine for a 2006 honda civic si
Needed some modification for my 2011 Honda Insight. Mounting screw at the top of the bracket was too big and interfered with the top of the speaker... had to actually saw out some relief in the top of the speaker frame to get it to sit flush.
Pros: Free with speaker purchase
Cons: Needed modification to actually fit
They work. Yes, they are a bit oversized so it took some work to really push them into position. In Civic's the mounting location has slots in the steel. The adapter needs to be pushed pretty hard to go down fully into those slots. Took a little time but I got the one in, the other size wasn't quite in all the way and I broke the clip that holds the captive nut :(.
Pros: Price is right and the idea is great.
Cons: Just a little bit oversized on my pair which made it difficult to install.
I bought these for a 2015 Honda Fit, and they were labeled for a Civic. It's reasonable to assume that the same speakers would fit in both cars, especially since the Crutchfield tech suggested them. The adapters are supposed to snap into two holes at the bottom of the speaker hole and then attach with one screw at the top. They do not go down far enough for the screw to attach at the top. I tried filing the holes in the door larger, but that didn't work, so I gave up on them and modified the generic adapters that came with the Polk speakers.
Cons: Do not fit into the opening in the door.
Hole had to be widen
Fits a 2011 accord (8th generation) perfectly
Pros: Fits perfectly
Cons: Easy to break if you aren't careful
Allowed for easy mounting of the speaker once I trimmed the door. I hoped for more of a drop in install with using these but the additional cutting may be a fault of the driver I used. The brackets did attach nice to the door.
Pros: Good fitment of product to vehicle.
Cons: Still had to use the air body saw to trim for speaker fitment. Not a big deal but could have been due to the speakers I used
Bought this to install kenwood 1665s into my 2007 civic....came free with order....exact fit...no modifications
Pros: Exact fit...came free with order
Lousy fit! You have to mod these in order for them to fit. Way out of spec from the factory. You have to counter-sink the main bolt in order to allow the speaker to fit flush. No instructions provided what so ever. None, not even a microsoft paint sketch that even resembles a drawing or anything close to installation instructions!
Pros: Pros? Are you kidding me? There are no pros to this product. You have to mod it to make it work, so you'd be better off just starting from scratch and making your own speaker mounts.
Cons: Everything about this product is a con. You may well be consider a con for selling such crap!
It's nice that you provide these brackets with the order, the speakers I ordered was to small for bracket but made some adjustments to fit, one side of bracket clips broke off so it made it difficult to install.
Pros: Free with order
These brackets made it easy to install aftermarket speakers into my 2008 Honda CR-V LX without the need to drill holes. This made me a happy man!
Pros: The aftermarket speaker is easily attached to the bracket with 4 screws. The two mounting clips on this bracket fit into the factory clip holes in the door frame and the single factory machine screw fits perfectly through a hole in the top of the bracket to hold the bracket firmly in place. They fit like they were made by Honda.
Cons: I had to nip off the ends of the speaker-mounting screws supplied with my aftermarket speakers so that the bracket would fit flush against the door frame but this was a small hassle. I guess this is an issue that could have been mentioned in the instructions because the bracket will not fit against the metal door frame if the speaker mounting screws extend deeper than the frame. Perhaps shorter speaker mounting screws could have been recommended by or even supplied by Scosche or Crutchfield
Make the install for my kicker 6.5 inch very easy in my 2011 honda civic. Crutchfield is the best place to buy your audio needs!
With my speakers, the stock screw wouldn't allow it to fit sit level so I had to drill it down a bit. I put cardboard in between the bracket and door to reduce vibrations.
Pros: Good fit
Cons: Original screw didnt fit No vibration-reducing foam on back
Like another reviewer mentioned, these speaker adapters are very cheap. There are two little brackets that are attached to the main adapter that break off very easily. One of the brackets was broken out of the box. These speaker adapters also didn't fit the speakers I bough, even though Crutchfield said it would. Now I have to go and find a speaker adapter that will fit the Polk Audio speakers I bought.
fits like a glove
Mounting brackets on the bottom were broken before I even attempted to install them, which seems to indicate that they are of very cheap quality. About appropriate fitness I did not get to determine this.
Pros: - makes the purchase complete in order for full installation.
Cons: - break easily - matches closely to OEM already in place.
The installation was simple for these but I wish they came with some type of cushion on the rear. May have to make one since I am hearing a slight vibration in one door.
They do the job, but like other have found out, the mounting holes don't quite match up (about 3/16" too wide) necessitating some extra drilling.
Pros: Ultimately, does the job.
Cons: Holes don't match the intended application.
These brackets are a lifesaver . Fit perfect no driling needed. Thanks Crutchfield
Pros: Very proffessional
Made install amazingly easy. Snapped right in. No drilling. Perfect.
Pros: Perfect in all ways
Made installation a snap! No drilling holes! Popped right in!
Pros: Made installation easy
Installed with Infinity Kappa 62.11i speakers in a Honda Civic 2007 LX sedan. I did have to countersink the screw holes a little to have the screw recessed in so my speakers can sit flush on the mounting brackets. I used a 3/8 masonry drill bit to shave off just enough material so the screw was in well. Perfect solution in my case. I used these in my doors and rear deck. Snug, no movements and sturdy enough for my applications.
Pros: Fits well with a minor adjustment Fits my speakers perfectly
Cons: Not sturdy enough to tighten mounting screws very much. I ended up stripping one screw hole for rear deck. Tabs do feel a little flimsy but will hold if mounted right.
I bought Pioneer TS-G1645R 6 1/2" speakers. Crutchfield supplied these Scosche adapters and wiring harness adapters for free, which is good. Problem is the Scosche adapters didn't fit the speakers very well, nor did they fit my Civic doors. Civics use single screw with two tab mounting system. When you mount the speak on the adapter ring the Civic screw head won't clear the edge of the speaker unless you grind away the edge of the speaker. When you try to mount the speaker/ring assembly to your door it is a couple of millimeters too big. If you try to line it up to get the screw in, the tabs break off. Best thing is to throw the adapter away, drill holes and mount the speakers directly to the door. Tip: Use the foam gaskets from the original speakers. Tip: Since the wiring adapters are an open design and not waterproof, wrap them in electrical tape.
Pros: They are free if you buy speakers. The Scosche instruction sheet is useless. They can be recycled.
Cons: Fragile, breaks easily. Does not fit Civics, close, but dimensions are a bit off. Tabs break off with very little effort, making them useless. Tips for the folks at Scosche: Radius any high stress area of plastic parts. Leave extra clearance to allow for distortion and dimensional variations.
These worked perfect for my 6.5" Hertz speaker installation in the rear deck of my 2013 Honda Civic Sedan. Got all the screws in with a little extra effort as I expected, but great fit.
Pros: Worked well
Great product and fit my car perfectly.
Pros: Perfect fit and easy install.
Cons: Diagram needed to show which side the speakers should be mounted. Speakers could be installed on either side of bracket. Figured it out after monkeying with it a few mins.
Mounting hole in bracket doesn't line up perfectly with hole in door on my 2014 Honda CRV. Also I had to drill mounting hole in bracket to hide head of mounting bolt
Pros: I was able to install aftermarket speakers
Cons: Needs some modification
Had to have the adapter to hit speakers in rear deck of 2007 Honda Civic Coupe
Pros: They worked for me
Slid right in with purchased speakers. Fits really well.
Pros: Easy install. Couldn't have been any quicker.
I went up a speaker size so the mounting bracket was needed.
Pros: helped with size change
Cons: Some of the holes didn't line up with the door panel and speaker
Did not match up with the speakers ordered. Had to grind away on the speaker to fit mounting brackets in vehicle.
I ordered these with the Sound Ordinance P-65's for the rear deck of my 2006 Honda Civic LX.
There should have been instructions saying "Customer may have to drill new holes in this ring adapter for proper centering/ fit". Be prepared- (at least with the Sound Ordinace P-65's) to find your drill motor, the right sized drill bit, new screws as they ones they send are way too long and then decide where you want to make the new holes. The rings did not come broken (like others said) and are actually pretty well made. Too bad none of the holes lined up with these speakers. Got them in and they fit well now.
Pros: well made ring
Cons: Holes don't line up in my application.
The plastic piece that slide in holes for door speakers broke. Cheaply made and does not fit 2014 Honda Accord well
Pros: Low cost
Cons: Cheaply made
Good product, does what it says. I have a 2014 Honda accord Sport.
I used these with my skar 6.5 coax speakers in the doors and rear dash of my 2012 honda accord sedan and they worked flawlessly. The tabs on the inner circle are easily removable with pliers in case the basket of your speakers is too wide (like mine were). I have a 15" skar vvx v2 on a thousand watts in the back and the brackets don't rattle at all even on high volumes. Highly recommend to anyone looking to upgrade their factory system
Pros: No rattling, perfect fit
Cons: None whatsoever
These fit my CRV very well.
Pros: Good fit.
I got these for installing Polk 6.5" db651s speakers in a 2013 Honda Fit Base. I THINK the door panel is not quite completely sitting against the door. It's really close, but not quite. I think the brackets are just ever-so-slightly too thick for the panel to seat fully. But I didn't check to see if the panels fit this way before I installed the speakers. So it's possible that is just the way the panel fits. It's also possible that the dynamat I installed is what is preventing the panel from fully seating. But I still need to install speakers in the rear doors, so I'll check then. Even so, the fit is really, really close. And the door panel still fits tight. So the issue above is not a show stopper by any means.
Also, with the speakers mounted to the bracket I couldn't get the single bracket mounting screw that attaches the bracket to the door inserted all the way. The base of the head of the screw would hang up on the speaker. There is just not quite enough clearance between the speaker and the bracket mounting hole.
One solution would be slightly grind a small amount away from the speaker mounting face - just enough to allow the mounting screw to pass.
Or, what I ended up doing was to put the screw in the base BEFORE mounting the speaker to the base. This way the screw is already inserted all the way before the speaker is attached to the base. When the screw is tightened the screw head rubs up against the speaker while tightening, but it works fine.
Pros: Fits the car's standard mounting holes perfectly.
Cons: Kind of tricky to get the mounting screw all the way in with 6.5" speakers. There is not quite enough clearance with the speaker mounting face.
Great fit but sometimes or in some situation with dealing with the speaker you may have to improvise.
Pros: Fit door panel well
Cons: Sometimes depending on speaker you may have to improvise
These brackets stated that they would work with my 2013 Honda Accord sedan, and they did, but not as well as I would have liked. I had to go ahead and install the bracket and it took quite a bit of muscle, causing the plastic bracket to bow up away from the metal opening somewhat. I had to go ahead and put the screw in that held it to the rear deck and the front doors, then had to tighten the speakers in as part of the metal lip of the speakers covered the screw holding the bracket into the deck and doors. They ended up working, but not without some manipulation. Also, when received, the packs indicated they were for Honda Civics, not Accords - not sure if they were fully interchangeable or not, but it is what it is.
Pros: Ended up working with the speakers purchased
Cons: Not an exact fit as it made it seem when ordering
These made installing new speakers in the rear deck of my 13 civic si a breeze. Speakers mounted right on these brackets and the brackets slide right into where they needed to be.
Pros: Easy to install. Fit great.
These weren't necessary as I'd already replaced my factory speakers once, but thank you
A perfect pair of brackets making the replacement of factory speakers so much easier and fun.
Pros: Easy to install and perfect fit.
Cons: There is no con.
Fits the car but not the Kenwood KFC-1665S I bought.. only 3 holes lined up so I've had to drill it out to get anything fitting together. Massive pain.
Pros: Fits the car
Cons: Doesn't fit the speaker Kenwood KFC-1665S
The hooks on this bracket fit nicely on my 13 Accord rear deck but the hole to tighten the bracket down on my rear deck was more closer towards the center. I had to shave the hole more towards the center on the bracket to make the screw align.
Pros: -Worked fine with Alpine SPS-610. -Hooks aligned and snapped right in.
Cons: -Had to modify it to work
I have mostly made my own brackets because I want all screws to be securely in place and be able to adjust the height if warranted. These brackets fit into the factory holes nicely and readily accepts the secure screw to fasten the bracket to the door. I was disappointed that no gasket material provided for sound-proofing, so had to use my own "Fatmat" around the speaker and rings.
Pros: Ready made, bracket prongs fit into door mounting holes
Cons: Inadequate alignment of holes: I could only get 3 screws in the bracket with Kicker KS60's
Nice adapter for 2006 honda civic. No issues installing, but there were lots of open spaces after installation. I blocked the openings and bass was more solid.
Used to install into a 2014 Honda CRV. I can't imagine doing the install without it. It saves a lot of time and hassle. One caveat is that it's made of brittle plastic; one of the tabs broke during installation. I was still able to finish the job, but it's not as well made as the Honda OEM bracket, which, by the way, is integrated into the speaker itself... you can't reuse the OEM bracket so you absolutely need to get these. Also be warned, Crutchfield does NOT have a Mastersheet for 2012-2014 Honda CRV. They don't tell you this anywhere on the website. If you're not sure or confident about doing your own install, I recommend buying your gear and having it installed by a local shop. Crutchfield's gonna leave you hanging as they have no instructions available for this vehicle.
Pros: Easy, convenient, a must-have accessory.
Cons: Brittle plastic.
Made install much easier. Make sure you use the correct screws.
Pros: Quality Easy to install
What can I say? They do what they're supposed to
Pros: They work
Cons: The mounting hole does not have a relief cut out for the bolt to go through all the way. Not a real issue but probably should have been addressed at one point for a truly perfect fit.
great installation kit. Installed in 15 minutes in my 2011 Honda Civic
Pros: Quick an easy
They are worth the money, be careful not to force into place and do not use factory speaker screws, get some shorter ones the depth of the bracket itself, and you will be fine.
Pros: If you use them correctly and are very cautious, these brackets do the trick
Cons: You will need shorter screws for doors otherwise you will snap off the bracket clips if the screws are longer than the bracket depth. Also if you push them to hard on the rear dash they will snap off easily. I question if they will hold up because they are kind of fragile. We shall see. However I think they will be fine since they are snug in place
Made the install very easy , the plus side is if you ever upgrade your speakers no need to move then just replace the speaker ,
Pros: easy speaker installation
The mounting brackets fit well. I installed them on an 09 Civic. I had to do some modifications to them to fit in the door. The speaker partially covered the mounting screw hole. I had to counter bore the bracket so the screw head was flush. That is why I gave it only three stars. I didn't have to do this for the read deck speakers. However the alternative to these mounting brackets is cutting off the mounting ring from the factory speakers.
Pros: The price.
Cons: may have to modify them to fit.
Good product but I had to recess the main screw hole with a 5/16" drill bit due to screw head sitting above surface. With 6.5" Polk DXi 650's, the speaker rim hits the screw head preventing a flush install. This modification may not be needed with 5.25" speakers. Not sure though. Install on 2007 Honda Civic LX sedan. Front door location.
Pros: Great adapter
Cons: Needed to recess screw hole for 6.5" speaker size.
Bought two sets of 6.5" speakers for my 2012 civic. Received one set of these brackets for the back speakers and a set of GM/Jeep SAPs 5.25"/6.5" Item #: 142SAC656 brackets for the door. This bracket was easier to install than the GM/Jeep bracket. I ended up ordering an extra set of these for the front door speakers. Both the door and rear deck speakers in the Civic are clipped in on the bottom of the speaker and a single bolt on the top holds the speaker & bracket in place. The trick is to install the bracket by itself first then install the speaker to the bracket.
These brackets are just a little too big, 1/8" or so. Without the speaker they mount pretty easily, just snap them in on the bottom and line up the bolt for tightening. You will have to squish the bracket to get the bolt hole to line up, for both the door and rear deck. First thing I did was mount the speaker to the bracket, in the provided holes, then tried to install the speaker/bracket on the rear deck. I was able to squish the bracket enough to line up the bolt. However, the bolt hit the speaker and didn't sit flush against the bracket. I didn't like that so I ended up mounting the bracket, marking new holes for the speaker that didn't interfere with the bolt and then drilled the bracket. Everything went together much easier that way.
Pros: - Easier to install than the GM/Jeep bracket (Item #: 142SAC656) - Made to fit the Honda speaker mount. - Easier to drill than the door
Cons: - The bolt hole didn't line up. - Wasn't able to use the provided speaker holes
These are helpful for mounting 6.5" speakers in my 2006 Civic, but not as straightforward as you would hope. You actually have to reverse the order of instructions in the master sheets - the bracket has to be mounted on the vehicle and THEN the speaker put on the bracket. That's fine in the front door but a pain in the butt on the rear deck where you are constrained by the back glass from getting good contact between screwdriver and screw. I couldn't do it. I had to mount the speaker on the bracket and put the bracket in without the bolt that firmly mounts it to the deck. I used electrical tape around the clips to get a good snug fit and that bolt seems unnecessary, at least on a horizontal surface where the trim pieces actually engage the bracket and help hold it in place. You have to use that bolt on a vertical surface like a door panel. This is the real hassle - that bolt prevents you from being able to put a 6.5" speaker on the bracket. I had to countersink the bolt with a 3/8" drill and a Dremel tool. This is why you have to reverse the order from the instructions - once the speaker goes on the bracket, you lose access to that hole.
It's still easier to have this piece, free from Crutchfiled with your speakers, than to have to make your own bracket from scratch. But, beware the caveats above that your speakers will "Fit with a bracket".
Pros: A little easier than making your own bracket.
Cons: Not all that much easier than making your own bracket.
useless. this will not fit your honda accord.it looks fit but bolt hole has 1/4 off so.you need reuse oem speaker bracket. but this come free .
Cons: not fit .
These speaker brackets fit perfectly in the 8th generation Honda Civics. Much better than what I've used before.
The bracket itself fits into my 2012 Honda Fit, but I had to cut off some of the plastic on the bracket so that the screw heads would fit.
Pros: Easy installation into car, fits my Pioneer 6.5" woofers
Cons: Slight modification may be necessary
Worked with some modification, and a little brute force. I ordered some Polk 651s speakers for my doors. The mounting bracket had eight holes, the speaker had eight holes, the hardware bag had eight screws and and 9 speed nuts. Always nice to have extra. Put six of the screws in, two of the speed nuts wouldn't match up with the holes, because of the ribs on the mount. Also turned out the screw hole at the top did not quite match the hole in the door on my 2013 Accord. I had to push the bracket down hard and aim the screw up to get a start. It bowed slightly but ended up mounting fairly well, just a slight bow in the middle. Didn't want to elongate the hole in the mount, afraid it might crack. The speakers ended up covering part of the hole, the mounting bolt wouldn't go flush to the mount but ended up on top of the speaker frame. This caused a fit problem with the hole in the door panel. I used a Dremel tool to cut a notch in the speaker frame for the screw, and now it fits flush. The original speakers had a gasket that fit against the door panel. This mount didn't come with one, but I haven't heard any vibration or buzzing yet, so I guess it's ok for now. Oh yeah, after I got the first speaker in and reassembled the door, I started on the second one. Oops. Eight screws, TWO speakers with eights holes...ah well, wanted to go to the hardware store today anyway...
Pros: Pretty good fit
Cons: Pretty good fit
The brackets were the correct size for my Honda Civic but the screws that were included were too long, causing the plastic bracket to break. I cut all of the remaining screws off and they were fine.
Pros: correct size for vehicle and speaker
Cons: screws too long for
When the screw is tightened to hold the bracket on the door, the speaker is not seated properly on the bracket. My solution was to mount the speaker on the bracket first and then insert the screw in the mounting hole. This configuration allow the speaker to sit flush on the bracket. The screw that holds the bracket on the door has a built in washer/flange. This screw is long enough to tighten so the the washer/flange rests against the outer metal ring of the speaker. It is not the best arrangement, but it works.
Overall this mount is an excellent solution for mounting after market speakers, I own a 2009 honda accord coupe and it was a perfect fit.
Pros: Fit like a glove. Sturdy and easy to mount.
Cons: On the outer rim there is a hole for a screw that is there for supporting the mount and speaker to the car. The rim and this hole are really close together and this doesn't permit a person to tighten the screw to a flush state. I recommend that a small niche gets put in this area allowing the screw to be flush to the surface.
A little bit off on my 08 Honda accord so I have to modify around it...
Pros: Good enough adapter..
Cons: Delicate, flimsy, tabs tends to break easy, holes needs to be sink-holed...
Does as advertised. Perfect replacement for the factory speaker adapter.
Pros: Same size as factory brackets
Cons: Needed modification for the speakers I installed
Work great. Saved me a lot of head ache. They fit perfectly in the front doors. On the rear deck, You more than likely will have to remove a little plastic ring on the rear deck cover. With a SHARP box cutter and a pair of scissors I accomplished this in 10 minutes.
Cons: I wish they came with foam on the bottom for some vibration dampening since they sit flush on the metal of the car.
As stated it fits the Honda Civic, but some speakers require a bit of modification installing them in the bracket in order for it to fit correctly. Its plastic so a simple drill and drill bit will do the trick.
Cons: Not stated about modifying for certain speakers. No foam for vibration.
There is so much I can complain about this product. Get ready to modify it work with a civic
This speaker brackets are totally awesome they fits right in like the original .
Pros: perfect fit
Cons: no cons
Works as they should. Fits perfect!
its fits my accord however the scew cant go down all the way so it sits on top of the edge of the speaker.
Pros: it fits in the tab locations and is better than nothing.
Cons: flimsy plastic tabs. The factory grills don't fit well over these adapters and thats really what it needs to do. It sits prouder than the origal speaker and screw cant get past the speaker if you us 6 1/2 drievrs.
Fit wells. Instructions vague but not really needed. Only thing I did that these adaptors could have used is the foam ring backing on the original stock speakers (06 civic lx). I just pulled it off and stuck it to the back of the adaptor brackets.
Pros: Good fit, easy to figure out.
Cons: Could use foam backing like stock speakers but easy to correct.
I had to modify these speaker brackets just a little bit to fit into my 2011 Honda Civic, but they work perfectly.
Pros: Fit as stated. Make installation very easy.
Cons: Had to modify a little bit in order for them to fit, but it was easy....so not really a con.
Work great but tabs are flimsy and hole is not countersunk
I bought the to mount my pioneer speakers in my 2007 civic hybrid in the front door. They fit really well and were easy to secure the speakers to
Pros: Easy install and self explanatory
Just remove the old speaker, snap in the included free brackets, attach speakers and you are done
Pros: Easy install
just what i was looking for to complete my project.
Pros: fits like a glove. was easy to install.
Cons: could have a few more holes that match the speaker size.
I do have an open mind about things and tried using this product. Well the outcome was the mount screw hole does not align correctly. I tried to avoid drilling it out in case I needed to return item but after taking off the all the rear panels and all I was hoping to accomplish the install. I did drill it out and still not enough room to make it fit. Now I'm stuck with something that is useless.
Cons: Mount screw hole does not align correctly.Crutchfield response on March 19, 2013 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
It takes a little effort to make it fit, but don't force it or the small tabs will break off.
Pros: Easily adapt speakers to fit stock location without modifications to the chassis
Cons: Thin plastic tabs are easy to break
I can't believe someone got this to fit in a 2012 Civic. I am using Polk 6 1/2 speakers and there is no way to lineup these at all. I am very upset with these.
Pros: Mounts to speaker
Cons: not to carCrutchfield response on February 4, 2013 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
I had to push on the top because the screw was a little higher than the hole for that screw but not an issue of sorts to worry about.
the rear speaker covers from the car would not fit over the new speaker/bracket assembly because the screw attaching the assembly to the car would stick out, because the head of the screw was blocked by the speaker (polk 6 1/2"- speakers apparently too big......) . Needed a small cut out on the speaker cover to make the cover fit.
I would give 5 stars but they for a bit loose. They do fit and save time from trying to design your own mount our cut any metal. It would be nice if they fit more snug like the factory plates.
Pros: Fit, time saver.
Cons: Fit loose. Still wriggle a little on the clip side even after being screwed down.
These fit my Honda Fit perfectly, but one of the bottoms tabs broke off of one of them. It fit firmly enough without it, but I popped some automotive double-stick tape under that spot just in case.
Pros: Great fit, lots of hole patterns for different speakers.
Cons: Gotta make those tabs a little stronger.
This product gets 4 stars.. it could have 5.. but it does require modification. First off.. it is a perfect fit for our cars.. which is a 2006 Honda Civic. Only thing is that you need to "countersink" the OEM screw that goes at the top of the bracket. To do this, you either need to get a drill bit that is slightly larger than the head of the screw you are screwing in.. or you can scrape a bigger whole with a blade.. or whatever.. i had to use both. The way it protrudes on the side of the door is actually less than the factory speaker.. so.. it is a good tight nice fit.
I received these adapter rings free with my order of Polk DXi6500's for my 2012 CR-V EX. There are three problems with these adapters: 1) The tabs that go into the slots in the door break off very easily - very poor design, 2) The speaker mounts at the wrong rotation making the terminals short against the narrow portion of the door opening, 3) The location of the single mounting hole for screwing the bracket into the factory mount is off - you cannot align the factory screw to the factory hole. I threw away both adapters and used the adapter rings that were included in the Polk speaker boxes, and they worked perfectly!
Pros: It was free. The plastic is recyclable
Cons: It cost me wasted time.
Worked fine... Had to engineer a fit ring to because I chose a smaller size speaker than 6.5 inch... Install went smooth once the silicone I put on fit ring dried... Tough to wait though...
These brackets were the only part of the installation I had a problem with. The holes did not match up with any of the holes on my car or the speakers. I know Crutchfield wants to keep it simple and not ask customers to use too many tools, but a drill was very helpful. I drilled my own holes and made the speakers fit. Maybe they should exlpain this.
The speakers fit into this adapter very well, but as another reviewer noted; the single bolt that secures the bracket to the car will not tighten all the way down without coming in contact with the rim of the speaker. I chose to just tighten until it hit the rim of the speaker. This seems to work fine. I am guessing that if you have purchased a speaker smaller than a 6-1/2, then you won't have this problem. It is most likely a problem with the speaker size rather than the bracket itself.
Pros: Fits perfectly
Cons: May have a slight problem installing a 6-1/2 speaker.
Great. Perfect fit!
Pros: Fit exactly as they're supposed to. Otherwise, I'd be drilling holes with the hope that the Polk speakers I bought would fit my 2009 Honda Accord
These were the supplied brackets for my 2012 Honda Civic. The screws that hold the speakers to these brackets were not included....so a trip to the hardware store to find something that worked. Also, the single factory bolt that holds these in the doors/deck do not line up seamlessly, some work and creativity needed to install.
Does half the job, it fits the car like it should but my crutchfield P-65 speakers do not fit them. It took me hours of trying different things until I finally gave up and used ty wraps. Unfortunately, if it is not the speakers that suck, I think the ty wraps lower the quality since it is IMPOSSIBLE to attach my speakers in a firm position (ie. because of the lag room in the ty wraps, the quality of the speakers isn't as good as it should be. Hope that all made sense
Pros: Fits car perfectly
Cons: Too much work and time to get the speakers on, and it doesn't fit the speakers. Also, it could just be my speakers, maybe others fit better
Fit was a bit tight; however, with a little added pressure you should be able to attach the single bolt to the rear deck - don't give up! I suggest that you remove the padding from the factory adapters and add to this new set. This should help reduce any vibrations.
2012 Honda Accord. Adapters fit right into the existing front doors and back speaker holes. Needed to enlarge the bolt screw hole on the adapter in order to elimanated the bowing on the 6.5" speaker rim.
Pros: Adapters fit right into the existing brackets
These really did help with the aftermarket speaker install, made it a lot easier but since it only had one screw holding up the speaker it kind of made the speaker bow out at the bottom because the top of the speaker is where the the screw was. I was a little worried about it but so far so good and it has been a month since the install.
Pros: Makes it easier to install speakers
Cons: Wish it didn't bow out and came with another screw for the bottom so bowing did not occur.
Awesome option. No need to worry about replacing crappy oem speakers. Fits perfectly in the hole to mount any 6.5/6.75" speakers. Fits just like oem speakers with one bolt and two clips.
Used to install speakers in a 2006 Civic sedan. They brackets were used in the doors and in the rear fitment. Installation would have been a nightmare without them.
Pros: Perfect fit for OEM openings. Provided correct spacing needed to install without any need to modify factory openings or holes.
Layout was similar to 2012 Honda Civic LX Sedan location although the main bolt holes were slightly off. I had to apply a large amount of pressure to the adapters to compress them enough to allow the main assembly bolt to be installed (which held them to the car's frame.)
Pros: Easy adaptation
Cons: Not quite the right dimensions between the clips and the mounting hole
Bracket is similar shape to OEM speaker and installs in same fashion using existing bolt fastener.
Pros: Exact shape and fit. Free custom bracket required less installation pre-planning.
Cons: No screws were included for new speaker -to- bracket attachment, and use of Kenwood supplied 4 mm dia. x 25 (1 inch long) self-tapping screws into 5/8" deep bracket delayed 1st installation attempt, when excess screw length was realized. Transfer of 1/32" thick foam lining from back of OEM speakers needed for snug fit; line only upper portion of lining to new bracket, all around lining will not allow bracket to be installed. Retaining bolt was tightened on speaker flange lip (adequate).
Does not fit 2012 CR-V LX. While the shape is correct (fits snugly to the door panel) and top hole for the bolt is in the right place, the flaps (tabs) are 1/2 inch lower than needed (easy to see when compared with the shape of the stock speaker housing). Removal of tabs/flaps as suggested by previous reviewer would cause rattle, but if enough dampening applied might as well work.
Pros: Solid product, hard plastic.
Cons: Does not fit 2012 CR-V.
After removal of the tabs, speaker adapter fit opening like a glove. No problems!
Pros: Easy installation .... no problems
Product does not fit 2012 Civic
Pros: With modification can be used to fit oversize (165mm) speakers.
Cons: Top mounting hole does not line up with stock bracket mounting location.
These mounts met the basic minimum of performance. While the speakers fit the mount with the removal of snap out tabs for multiple speaker fitment. The outer dimensions of the mount did not fit the insert panel of the rear mounted original speaker grills. I had to modify the original parts to fit the new mounts.
Pros: with work they fit my Honda's propriety speaker mounts.
Cons: With slight engineering changes this could be a perfect fitment.
Overview: As of 7/12/13, the SAHC634 is compatible with select 2006-2013 Acura and Honda vehicles. The bracket is designed to allow easy replacement of the factory speakers with select aftermarket 5-1/4, 6-1/2, and 6-3/4 speakers. (Please refer to the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit in your vehicle.)
6-3/4 Speakers: For a 6-3/4 speaker to fit in the opening of this bracket, the tabs around the inner speaker opening will need to be removed. They are scored along the bottom for easy removal, but still may require pliers and a file.
5-1/4 Speakers: While a 5-1/4 speaker will mount easily in this bracket given the bolt pattern, the frame of a typical 5-1/4 is approximately 1/2" smaller than the opening in the bracket, making a 6-1/2 or 6-3/4 a better fit. When using a 5-1/4, a speaker baffle must also be used to seal the rear of the speaker.
