These brackets allow you to install select 5-1/4" or 6-1/2" speakers in your factory speaker openings. These multi-purpose brackets fit right into most vehicles, but you may have to make slight modifications in some vehicles, like trimming plastic or drilling new screw holes.

Important Note: Some 6-1/2" speakers use a larger frame and require a larger cutout. We call these 6-3/4" speakers, and they won't fit in this bracket. This bracket will only work with speakers that require a cutout diameter of 5-1/8" or less.

  • Priced per pair

Includes Crutchfield's 60-Day Total Satisfaction Guarantee

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so, then check here for a list of parts. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

Features

Overview: As of 11/6/13, the SAT6 is compatible with select 1999-2013 vehicles from various manufacturers. The bracket is designed to allow easy replacement of the factory speakers with select aftermarket 5-1/4 and 6-1/2 speakers. (Please refer to the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit in your vehicle.)

5-1/4 Speakers: While a 5-1/4 speaker will mount easily in this bracket given the bolt pattern, the frame of many 5-1/4s is smaller than the opening in the bracket, possibly making a 6-1/2 a better fit. When using a 5-1/4, a speaker baffle might also be needed to seal the rear of the speaker.

Dimensions:

  • Outer Diameter: 6.03" (not including the flange)
  • Inner Diameter: 5.1"
  • Height: 1"

Speaker brackets for 08 Tacoma

Written By RaderDave, Santa Barbara, CA on Sunday, June 15, 2014
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bracket Holes do not line up for my vehicle ( 2008 Toyota Tacoma rear door speakers).
Pros:
I was able to work with them but needed to to make my own simple modifications.
Cons:
Mounting holes don't match up properly and the plastic will crack if your not careful. I needed to drill the third hole for mounting and holes for speaker wires to feed wires to the speakers....Three Stars

Great bracket

Written By BigSHug825, Manassas, va on Friday, February 07, 2014
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Crutchfield provided these with speakers. They were easy to fit to the speaker, came with the necessary screws, and were easy to install. I had some worry that they would crack if put under too much pressure, but those fears proved to be unfounded. The extra tabs were easy to break off when not needed.
Pros:
Easy to install. Not brittle. fit my car and speaker.
Cons:
None.

Not so much

Written By Chris L, Richmond VA on Tuesday, December 17, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Did they work - yes, did they work well-far from it. This is for the 6x9' Toyota to 6.5" adaptors.

The build of the brackets is so flimsy that it doesn't seal around the outer edges as it should. Even with foam stripping the plastic frame bent badly. It also did not meet up to the factory hole on one side to seal up as needed. After pulling the door panel a few times I finally spent a couple of hours modifying the factory speaker frame and this bracket to make a unit that worked well. Without this I would've had to build one from scratch so it was helpful but far from the correct piece needed for a quality install.
Pros:
Crutchfield is awesome as always. served the purpose of fitting the speaker
Cons:
low quality-mass build feel with subpar results.

They work, but...

Written By Jay, Crozet, VA on Friday, November 22, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I called the help line because the way these mounting brackets work wasn't apparent to me. You have to force the screws into the sides of the bracket. The screws provided weren't long enough do successfully accomplish this, so I used slightly longer screws of my own. Once everything was mounted and secure, they worked fine.
Pros:
Adaptable to the car doors as needed.
Cons:
Hardware provided wasn't useful.

Speaker Mounting Brackets

Written By Andre, Oregon on Thursday, June 06, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It did not fit my 07 sti. I had to use a dremel and cut off two tabs and drill new holes. After modify the adapter it worked great. It had the right amount of thickness so the woofer was out of door to clear the window. The others i found were just a flat metal plate which would not have worked because it would have interferred with the window.
Pros:
Soild plastic piece. Right amount of thickness to make it stick out and away from the door.
Cons:
Had to modify to get it to fit.

Not a 6.5" speaker bracket

Written By Anonymous, Seattle, WA on Monday, April 15, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The overall mounting diameter was too small for some Alpine 6.5" coaxial speakers. Otherwise, these seem like they would work well. These speakers fit well in other rings from the same company that call for 6.5" speakers.
Pros:
Price
Cons:
Improper mounting for a reasonably standard 6.5" speaker.

Not for 6 1/2 in speakers

Written By dnardi, Mass on Monday, April 08, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these to mount Infinity Kappa 62.9i speaker in the rear door of a Tundra. The bracket fits the truck door properly, but they do not hold a 6 1/2" speaker by default - they are too small. In order to mount a 6 1/2" speaker you need another bracket that mounts to a the speaker to a 5 1/4" hole and then has a flange to mount the 6 1/2" speaker to it.

Luckily the Infinity speakers came with such an adapter. Though using the second adapter with these makes the speaker mount farther out of the door by 1/4"causing the tweeter to contact the door grill. I had to grind down the honeycomb plastic on the back of the door pannel grill to make room.
Pros:
mounts to door properly and securly solid mount and well made
Cons:
doesn't fit 6 1/2" speakers by default.

Fit 2006 Scion XB, wrong mounting hardware supplied

Written By ClintS, Fort Worth, TX on Monday, July 16, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Holes on the adapter bracket line up with factory mounting holes in door. However, supplied hardware (screws & clips) does not work due to inset of those holes. Also, no clear instructions on where to drill screws attaching speakers to bracket. I used my own rivet gun to make them work.
Pros:
speakers fit in factory location
Cons:
unclear instructions and fastening hardware does not work for application on specified make and model

Did not fix 06 Subaru Impreza WRX STi

Written By Andrew K, Annapolis,MD on Thursday, June 28, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

None of the mounting holes to the door lined up even remotely close. The best trick I figured out was to cut an outline of one of the speaker adapters out of the cardboard from a pizza box. Punch holes in the cardboard exactly where the existing holes are first. Then tape the template onto the door so the holes already in the door line up to uncut areas of the cardboard, then use a knife to punch holes in the cardboard where the right mounting holes need to be drilled. Then actually screw the cardboard template to the door to make sure all the holes fit. After a good fit then I taped the template to the plastic speaker adapter and used a drill to drill the new mounting holes. Once this was done the plastic speaker adapters worked fine. With all that work I question why it would be easier to use these plastic things over just cutting some rings out of MDF in the first place. I'm sure these things probably fit other cars right out of the box, or they expect you to just drill holes in your door. The later I wasn't willing to do.
Pros:
Adapters came for free with my new Kicker speakers.
Cons:
-None of the mounting tabs or pre-drilled holes lined up at all with the factory mounting holes in my door. -As much fabrication necessarily as to just make your own speaker brackets out of MDF.

Sufficient

Written By Alex C, Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday, May 29, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Some installation feedback: The adapter brackets came with sheet-metal screws and "fast clips." I was unable to use the clips in the fashion for which they are designed because the mounting holes are too far from the speaker hole (about 1 to 1.5 inches away, and the clip is only 1/2 inch total width). My solution was to duct tape the clips on the back side of the screw holes for the 2 holes I was reusing. For the one hole I had to drill, I could match the drill bit to the screw.

Also, the sheet metal screws for the bracket required a washer for at least one of the holes, since the screw head easily slips through. These should be included in the bracket hardware.
Pros:
They work and the material seems substantial
Cons:
Hardware is lacking or requires improvisation.

These brackets came with my order of speakers. I have a 2006 WRX TR Sedan and these would not fit for my front door speaker hole. The metal around the speaker hole is raised so I could not get these brackets to sit flat against the door panel even after dremellng the edges off. I ended up having to buy some other speaker brackets. They mount up right to the factory screw holes!

Well made; sturdy

Adapter Brackets

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

At first I wasn't sure if this was going to work in my 2007 Subaru Impreza, but after second-guessing Crutchfield, I said to myself "listen to the pros". They wouldn't steer me wrong, and they've done the research. Sure enough, it worked fine for my Alpine speakers that I installed in my front doors. Without them the speaker would have just been sloppy and loose in the existing speaker cutout.

Speaker Mounting Brackets

I bought these to install my new kicker ks6502 component speakers in my 06 corolla. Advisor said these would fit but they don't. The kicker are 6.5" but the bracket is much smaller than the speaker's mounting holes. Came up with an easy solution, just flipped the bracket and drilled screws into the plastic. Easy installation overall not much problems just the fitting issue. Good product and saves you time during installation.

Nice solution

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got a set of speakers as a Christmas gift and when I attempted to install them
in my Toyota Highlander, I realized that I needed a special set of brackets to
complete the mounting on the car doors. I called Crutchfield and their
customer service team was able to point me to this set of brackets. They were
almost perfect. I had to do a couple of minor adjustments (drill an extra hole
on the brackets)
for the front doors.
After that, the installation of my speakers went pretty smooth. Excellent
solution.

Didn't even come close to fitting the 6 1/5" speakers I was using, the stock speakers were even larger then the opening for the speaker to rest into.

Be sure to get the right ones!

Written By ToyotaMan, Williamsburg, VA on Saturday, February 26, 2011
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My 1999 was built in May 1999, which meant the GM/Jeep brackets that Crutchfield
sent did not fit. These, which are for a 2000, fit. So, check your door plate to
see which ones you need. The others do not fit at all, and modification is far
less desirable for this part than getting the right one.

These adapters fit perfectly and were very easy to install. I used them with Kenwood 6
1/2" speakers into a 2000 Toyota Celica and they worked great. The only modification I
had to make was to use my own screws because the provided screws didn't work quite
right with my car but this was a very minor adjustment. The shipping was very fast and
you can't beat the price!

Well I got burned with this one they said it would fit my car and so I ordered it having ordered things from other places and having them doing what the site store said it would fit/do with little or no problems. There is no way I will modify a standard part so this thing will go to a garage sale and be done with.

Had to have them

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Im glad these were included with my speaker purchase otherwise I would not have
been able to mount my speakers. The window mechanism was hitting the magnet on
the speaker when the speaker was directly mounted to the door. I did the driver side first
and it was a little tricky to figure out how to position it. Passenger side went much
smoother after doing the driver side. If Crutchfield offers them with your speakers, you
are most likely going to need them.

Need additional work

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was very disappointed these adapters did not work as well as the others I had purchased from Soche. They fit the Alpine 600 series speakers perfectly but they did not fit into the factory door panel on my 2008 Toyota Tacoma double cab. I had to turn the adapter inside out and make and additional template so the speaker would seal tightly to the door with no exposed gaps etc. Between Alpine and Soche they did provide plenty of screws to use.

Doesn't fit at all

Written By Keith, Seattle, WA on Monday, January 18, 2010
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These adapters didn't fit the Boston SX65 speakers they came with at all. Luckily, I was able to use the adapters that came with the speakers to make it all fit. I'm not even sure why Crutchfield would include these brackets with the Boston SX65s. The problem was that the brackets had the right size hole for the speaker to slide into, but there was no way to attach the two together. The speakers screw holes are on tabs that extend out from the frame and the brackets didn't have anything that the screws could tap into. I guess I could have glued the speaker to the bracket, but I found a better way.

Brittle, useless with 6-1/2 inch Boston Acoustics SX60

Written By akoudriashov, NH on Wednesday, June 24, 2009
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Got these with Boston Acoustics SX60 component speakers.
The brackets are too small for BA 6-1/2 woofers, so not sure why Crutchfield provides them with BA SX60.
When I attempted to drill holes for BA woofers, the brittle plastic just cracked all over the place.
Fortunately, I was able to install BA SX60 woofers without these stupid brackets.
Mr. Crutchfiled, please do a better job selecting speaker installation brackets!

Although this bracket makes the install possible, all of the mounting tabs
had to be snapped off and new holes had to be drilled. The brackets are
made of a very brittle plastic becareful when drilling or fabricating.

2009 Yaris 5 door LB install

Written By Richie, North Port, FL on Saturday, May 16, 2009
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These brackets are too small for the 6 1/2" Infinity Reference series speakers. I had to mount the metal spacer rings that came with the Infinity's to this by drilling them out and using small bolts (that I had to cut down) and nuts before I could mount the speakers to it. I had to drill all new holes in the rear door panels of my 5 door Yaris liftback and add washers to the screws because the mounting holes in these brackets are too big for the screws. It was do-able. But if anyone thinks it is a plug and play replacement for the factory speakers be prepared to get creative. As for the front doors, I just used the black plastic speaker mounting adapters that came with the Infinity's and just redrilled new holes.

These Speaker Brackets worked good. When I looked at the Pic on the web site, they didn't look tall anuff. I didn't think they were going to be what I needed. When I got them, they ended up to be exactly what I needed..........
The only down side was the slots that the speaker screwed into didn't leave one with the real secure felling that they were in there good & tight, expecally with the vibration the speaker goes threw, but you need them, so what can you do? ALL-in-ALL. the front door brackets work great, the back door brackets are OK.

2006 Subaru WRX - terrible fit!

Written By C.M., New Hampshire on Wednesday, May 13, 2009
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

None of the holes in the adapter fit the existing inserts in the front doors of
my '06 WRX. I was faced with a choice of drilling the doors, or re-drilling the
adapters, which i did after cutting off all tabs to make the bracket physically
fit the door.

The speakers roughly fit the brackets...but it wasn't a perfect fit. You would
think that would line up with a standard speaker mounting pattern, but it
wasn't perfect.

If you're remotely good with hand tools, you can make these work, but they
may as well be any random speaker spacer. They do not fit this car.

Rating of 2 stars because they are able to be massaged into working; I
have no doubt I'll be back in the doors to fix things in the future.

worked pretty good

Written By chris, germantown, wi on Thursday, April 02, 2009

These came with my Alpine SPS-600 series speakers. I bought for the front and rear door of my 2005 Highlander. I don't think the speakers would of worked with the mounts except the fact Alpine provided an adapter bracket with the speakers. This proved to be the ticket. It all fit perfectly onto the mount and the mount went right to the original speaker attachment screws. I did have to wedge one of the screws at an angle but the plastic allowed for it without cracking.

This was the easiest speaker install that I have ever done with the free mounting hardware provided by Crutchfield.

Thanks Crutchfield - I be jamming!

Speaker Mounting Brackets

Written By Heriberto, Miami, FL on Thursday, April 02, 2009

I did not like the brackets for the 6.5 speakers on my Corolla. The material is fine but the rim where you attach the speaker is not wide enough to fully screw in the speaker. I had to screw in at weird angles to be able to reach plastic because the speaker was wider than the adapter. One thing that doesn't make sense is that the clips that are meant to be screwed into for the screws not to back out are not long enough to reach where the holes are in the adapter.

Only one drawback

Written By Jar, Georgia on Tuesday, March 24, 2009
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These brackets worked great other than the slight modification (according to Crutchfield advisor) to the rear door panels. It ended up being a pretty hefty modification to make the 6.5" Infinity reference work in the rear doors of 2007 Toyota Tundra Crew Max. I shaved all of the rim around the waffling completely off to get them to fit. Set me back 20 minutes on the install. The front door mounting brackets were incredibly easy in comparison!!

Perfect fit

Written By Sean, Liberty, MO on Tuesday, February 17, 2009
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed these in my 2005 Prius and they worked perfectly. Other reviewers said that they had problems with 6.5" speakers, but I tried them with a set of Sony XS-GT1626A speakers and they worked great. The only snag was that the speed clips do not attach to the body of the car door--if they even fit (which mine didn't) they wouldn't line up with the holes in the adapter. Also, there was a lot of unnecessary hardware to confuse the installation. But they worked!

Speaker Mounting Brackets

Written By Mike, Massachusetts on Sunday, April 06, 2008

i bought these to install my MB quart 5 1/4" speakers in the front doors of my 2008 Toyota Corolla.
I had to file a little off the mounting cutout to allow the speakers to fit.
I cant see how a 6 1/2" speaker could possibly fit.
The heads of the screws provided to secure the adapter to the door, were too small, so I had to place washers behind the heads so they wouldn't slip through the holes.
The slide on speed clip/nut doesn't slide on the door panel of my Corolla because there is a lip on the door cutout(not the adapters fault). So you have to reach in and hold the clip from the back. However....
If you are using these with foam speaker baffles(as I was to protect from rain)there is no way to reach your hand in to hold the speed clip/nut for the screw. I had to use some glue to hold the clips to the inside of the door while I attached the screws. I ended up cutting the back of the foam baffles so I could reach in and hold the clip by hand.
You have to be careful screwing the speaker to the adapter and not screw too tight, as they easily strip the plastic adapter. I stripped one hole in each bracket, and could have easily stripped more.
Overall I believe these are easier than having to make your own adapters.

Fit great in door panels with some additional drilling for speaker mounts when installing 6 1/2" speakers. For the rear speakers, I had 6 1/2" for the rear also, and these will not fit for this speaker size; 5 1/4" might though. I was able to mount the new speakers directly to the subframe by drilling new mount holes and using machine screws to secure. If I had this information when buying, I could have saved myself $12 and only bought one set.

Toyota Brackets

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These will work great to mount your 5.25 speakers in the rear of your Scion tc. They will not however work on your door speakers. Also when mounting these in the rear you need to break off a few tabs, at first try I thought they didn't fit at all. The fit isn't perfect you'll have to be careful as one hole would alwasy be just out of alignment and would try to strip the bolts.

Speaker Adapter for Scion xb, front doors

Written By Walter, Winter Springs, FL on Saturday, May 28, 2005

The adapter supplied is essentially the same as the speaker enclosure for the factory speakers. Simply mount the new speakers in the adapter, then remove the factory speaker and replace with the new ones. Holes match up and the Crutchfield speaker harness adapter make it even better! Hi there Crutchfield tech, I just pulled out all my 6.5 inch speakers out of my 2000 celica. It seems that the last person who installed the speakers reused the old speakers brackets and I simply can't reuse them. Do u guys sell universal car brackets or should I have a carpenter trace out and make me new ones? [ val  Jan 21, 2014 ]
