Features

Overview: As of 11/6/13, the SAT69 is compatible with select 2002-2013 vehicles from Ford, Lexus, Scion, and Toyota. The bracket is designed to allow easy replacement of the factory speakers with select aftermarket 6-1/2 and 6-3/4 speakers. (Please refer to the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit in your vehicle.)

6-3/4 Speakers: For a 6-3/4 speaker to fit in the opening of this bracket, the tabs around the inner speaker opening will need to be removed. They are scored along the bottom for easy removal, but still may require pliers and a file.

5-1/4 Speakers: While a 5-1/4 speaker will mount easily in this bracket given the bolt pattern, the frame of a typical 5-1/4 is approximately 1/2" smaller than the opening in the bracket, making a 6-1/2 or 6-3/4 a better fit. When using a 5-1/4, a speaker baffle must also be used to seal the rear of the speaker.

Dimensions:

  • Length: 10.375"
  • Width: 8.05"
  • Inner Diameter: 5.656"
  • Height: 0.75"

Eh, they serve their purpose

Written By None, Nashville, TN on Wednesday, February 19, 2014

The speakers fit within the bracket perfectly. The problem lies with the screw holes that do not line up with the factory screw holes in the car as advised. Had to make new holes on the bracket, (which were no trouble at all to make), it was just a little more time consumming
Pros:
Speaker fit within bracket perfectly. Made of strong plastic.
Cons:
Don't exactly fit, but can be made to fit.

Mounting brackets

Written By Juan A, Rochester, N.Y on Tuesday, December 10, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These worked flawless on my door speakers. I have a 2007 Toyota Camry SE. The only problem I had with them were that the rear speakers are not on the doors but rather under the back window and the brackets holes did not quite match. I did my best to keep the speakers mounted solid and so far they are holding tight.
Pros:
Worked excellent on door panel
Cons:
Not the perfect fit for rear speaker on 07 Toyota Camry SE

Okay product

Written By jr, Hubert, NC on Thursday, September 12, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The brackets worked great as far as being able to mount a smaller speaker into the front door panels. What you need to know though is that if you use most aftermarket speakers as I did, they may very well be too deep to fit into the panel without the window hitting the magnet when fully lowered. You would be better off finding something that will keep the speaker out from the panel similar to what the stock speakers have. Plastic design is cheap but serves the purpose.
Pros:
Easy to install
Cons:
Does not keep speaker far enough out of the door panel to avoid window hitting it

Good Quality Item

Written By Anonymous, Winston Salem NC on Thursday, June 27, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fits Focal Polyglass 6.5" great. Nice and secure after screwing down. Pretty thick and stiff piece. Not too many 6" by 9" speakers achieve a great amount of sound quality and this does a good job of allowing an easy installation of new speakers without messing up a newer car. For the price, a great solution.
Pros:
Cheap price. Good construction for price. Crutchfield's installation instructions!
Cons:
Not going to sound as good as a fully custom install.

Flimsy

Written By Ryan, Vallejo, CA on Friday, May 10, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had to cut the three inner tabs off with my Dremmel in order to get my speakers to fit but figured that's okay because they were free with my purchase. What I really didn't like is that the plastic is flimsy and not rigid at all. That means at high volumes I can actually hear the vibrating plastic hitting my door. In the end, I decided to throw them away and go with a competitors product.
Pros:
Free, probably will fit many speakers
Cons:
Flimsy plastic that has the potential to vibrate

2012 Prius Problems

Written By Jay, Findlay, OH on Saturday, August 18, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speaker adapters do NOT fit the front doors of a 2012 Toyota Prius. You can make them fit but will have to drill two holes in the steel to attach all four points to the door. I would recommend SAK010 speaker adapters instead. You will still need to drill two holes but at least you can get 6 x 9's in your door.
Pros:
Beats Me
Cons:
Don't fit as advertised...but that's probably Scosche's fault and not Crutchfield's.

2011 Tacoma Double Cab

Written By Nate, Massachusetts on Tuesday, August 07, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these for my Pioneer TS-A1684R and they worked very well. The only issue I had with them was for the passenger side door, the harness I was using (Metra 72-8104) was not log enough to connect with the door harness so I ended up having to drill four new holes into the bracket to be able to rotate the speaker and get that extra inch of wire. Over all a great bracket though.
Pros:
Very easy to install
Cons:
minor adaptations necessary for 2011 Toyota Tacoma

Cons:
Should include some 3M double sided tape to apply between the adapter and the door to stop any vibration. I bought and added my own. You should too if you are spending money to upgrade your speakers.

Fits ok for 09 Tacoma

Written By jw, NC on Wednesday, February 01, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These will get you by and they fit the oval openings of the Tacoma, but I strongly suggest putting a gasket (weather stripping or 100% silicone allowed to harden in a bead to retain shape) between the door and the backing of the bracket. Consider using them as a template for MDF or ABS plastic rings.
Pros:
They work as advertised, they're readily available, and they're cheap.
Cons:
Spacing can lead to rattles, rattles can lead to sadface.

Prius 2010

Written By Prius2010, Sacramento, CA on Monday, August 08, 2011

They don't fit directly to the original screw holes. You need to drill new holes and screw them on. They also leave a small gap between the door hole and the speaker bracket. Was hoping it was a perfect fit, but it is not. They were okay. I give 2 stars only.

Be prepared

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These work okay. They do not fit the rear doors of a 2011 double cab Tacoma...without some work, anyway.....you will need to cut around the edges and drill new holes for the screws and a new harness access into the side of this speaker mount in order to get them to fit, so be prepared for that. Apparently, they are as close as they can get to working.

Speaker Mounting Brackets

Written By Anonymous, Memphis, TN on Sunday, June 05, 2011
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These brackets line up perfectly with the hole in the front doors. However, I had to drill through metal to make new holes as the brackets do not even come close to lining up at the rear deck. I put some neoprene between the brackets and metal to make sure they don't rattle. 2005 Camry.

Toyota Speaker Adapter

Written By Jerry, Austin TX on Thursday, June 02, 2011
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Not the best adapter. I had to modify 1 of the front door panels by cutting a hole in the plastic for the speaker wire to fit through. These DO NOT FIT the rear speakers. I ended up cutting the inner circle off with a hack saw to fit behind the mount and have something to screw the speaker into.

Was disappointed that these did not line up with the door holes. When I called in to say that they must have sent the wrong ones, they said thats a close as they get and you have to drill the door. To be honest, thats why I used Crutchfield.. so that I wouldn't need to drill into the car.

Mounting in a 2010 Prius

Written By Ed S, Waldorf, MD on Tuesday, February 01, 2011
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I received these with my order to install new speakers in a 2010 Prius II. First, since a 6x9
speaker would actually fit in the front doors (but not the back), I kind of wish I had ordered
them. Secondly, the only way to use this bracket appears to be to drill new holes in the
bracket and new holes in the door, and then drive a screw through the new holes.

This speaker kit worked as expected. I was advised that there may be some modification to fit my Pioneer TS-A1702C (6 1/2"). I have a dremel and cut out the tabs (I guess used for smaller speakers) and my 6 1/2" fit like a glove in my 2008 Camry.

Great product. Couple this with the plug adapters for the factory wiring and you have a easy professional installation in less than 1 hour.

Used in a Toyota Tacma

Written By Doug, Lodi,Ohio on Saturday, May 16, 2009

These Speaker Brackets worked great! When I looked at the Pic on the web site, they didn't look tall anuff. I didn't think they were going to be what I needed. When I got them, they ended up to be exactly what I needed.

Speaker Mounting Brackets

Written By Jim, Youngsville,NC on Wednesday, June 13, 2007

These should include a gasket,as,unlike the factory bracket(actually the factory bracket and speaker is all one piece)they are flat on the back, and the plastic pieces the mounting bolts screw into are higher than the door surface. I used rope caulk to act as as gasket. Also, the hole for the speaker adapter wires, should be on the top,not the left side. The factory wires plug into the top of the one piece factory bracket-speaker,and the supplied speaker wire adapters were too short to reach on the right door without removing some of the tape from the factory wire bundle to get the factory wire closer to the new bracket.
