great fit solid product
Pros: fits great
I saw so many complaints that I was a bit apprehensive at first. Two of the three original holes for this mount lined up just fine. Drilling a quick hole for the third mount was quick and without issue. There were some inner tabs that must have been meant for smaller sized speakers, but in my case, I was moving up to a 6 3/4" size to the cast tabs had to go. Several reviewers fussed about cracking the plastic mounting ring when attempting to break these off. Out of concern for doing this, I just used a dremel tool and ground those little things right off. It was recommended to cut a notch for wires to pass through, so again, I used the dremel tool to cut out a little chunk. I thought these rings were great. Best of all, Crutchfield included them with the speakers. Yahoo!
Since the mounting brackets that came with my speakers weren't compatible with my car, Crutchfield sent me these. Unfortunately, these didn't fit either. I was warned that I would need to drill new holes in my car doors, but why? It doesn't seem like it should be hard to make/stock adaptors that fit. Ultimately I got them to work, but I had to drill some holes in these plastic brackets.
Pros: free with speaker purchase
Cons: not actually a compatible adaptor
Fit as expected. Would like to have seen a better way to screw the speaker into the adapter plate, or come with appropriate screws, but for the price, can't complain.
This definitely helped keep my new Alpine 6 1/2 speakers from touching my window when I roll it down.
Pros: Solid plastic, can't argue for price as it's included with the speakers. Alot better than the big box store's brackets and other local stereo shops.
Cons: Wish it came with screws for speakers both for the bracket and bracket to door and honestly a better installation diagram showing which way it needs to go into the door.
Does Not! properly fit 2015 WRX as advertised! factory speaker mounting holes do not match theses speaker brackets.
Pros: were delivered on time...
Cons: don fit/useless
These do not work if you're installing 6.5 inch speakers in a 2016 Hyundai Elantra. They look like they would work for a 5.25 speakers. Reusing the factory mounts worked fine for me. You don't have to remove them to use them with 6.5 inch speakers but you have to cut the supports off to allow the new speakers to fit. There are other good descriptions on how to do this online.
Cons: Did not work
They fit car just fine just not the 6 1/2" speakers. I could've hast as easily came up with my own modification. That may have worked just fine with a smaller speaker.
Pros: They were easy to drill through to modify the holes.
Cons: They were free
I see a review that said these were fine. However, they're too short - the speaker won't reach the door panel. I reused the bracket that is an integral part of the factory speaker assembly: Cut the veins supporting the magnet end of the driver, cut the wires, used chisel to separate driver from bracket (Crutchfield suggested next time I heat it to 150°F) Then attached new driver to bracket with silicone cement and some #4 bolts and nuts. and put some self adhesive foam to seal with the door panel. Reuse allowed me to use the factory wiring, and just solder wires to the vane that has the original wiring. The result works well.
Pros: Could have saved some work if they fit. Unnecessary.
Cons: Too short, about 0.7" IIRC. Needs to be twice that height.
These really didn't fit my 2012 Focus. I actually threw them out. They still required modification and so did my stock mounts. I just used the stock ones instead.
Pros: For my car, a 2012 Ford Focus, nothing.
Cons: They weren't really an exact fit. They still required modification. It seems as though these are universal.
I switch the speakers in a equinox 2011 and this mounting brackets were perfect for the new speakers to fit properly, very happy Crutchfield included them
Overall these will get the job done. They are made to fit 5 1/4 and larger speakers. If you do use the larger speakers such as I did you will have to break the inner mounting hole out to fit the speaker. I do recommend being very careful when doing this as they are kind of fragile. I took the route of using a pair of pliers to break them and ended up breaking the bracket. After that happened I used a Dremel to cut the others off and that worked quite well. I did contact Crutchfield about the issue and they where very quick to apologize and ship a new set immediately. Overall I am very satisfied with the product and more impressed with the customer service that comes from Crutchfield. That's why I have shopped with them for nearly 20 years.
Pros: Brackets are made to fit many different sizes of speakers and configurations.
Cons: Can be a little flimsy, but just use a Dremel or rotary tool to cut the tabs off instead of breaking them with pliers.
These were useless for installation. The did not fit the 2013 Forester, they made the speaker stick out too far to fit the door panel over, they did not attach easily to the speakers.
Cons: see review
Product does what it should was the correct part for my 2014 focus st online but only two of the three mounting holes lined up on the vehicle and I had to use a drimel with sanding wheel to open up the speaker hole more due to my 6.5 speaker wouldnt seat all the way down.
Pros: Does what it should not to expensive
Cons: Required fabrication for speakers and didn't line up with all the mounting holes on the car.
Did not fit even though the website said it would. I ended up hollowing out my factory speakers and turning them into mount brackets. I would suggest doing that, instead of buying this product. Save your money.
Cons: didn't fitCrutchfield response on June 9, 2015 Neg but legit review.
Fit perfectly. Shipping was quick and as always the crutchfield team was very helpful.
Included free with my purchase. Perfect fit and easy installation.
Brackets fit perfectly with no issue for the front doors of my wife's 2002 Saturn Vue.
Pros: Fit Ease of use Price
Easy to use
I used these to fit Polk Audio db651s speakers on the front door of my 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek. The speakers fit line up perfectly with the bracket, you just have to find the right holes. The bracket however needed one hole drilled in to fit on the vehicle but it was a simple mod and everything works great now.
Cons: Must drill a hole to fit Subaru.
They arrived on time and fit as expected on my 2005 Chevy Equinox, would recommend to anyone
Pros: Fits Perfectly
Very easy install in 2012 Hyundai Elantra
Made install easy
Had magnified the existing bracket on my 2001 Saturn L200 to fit the 6.5 pioneers (wasn't a perfect fit) got the bracket from Crutchfield and realized using the supplied screws to mount speakers, that the screws were to long and was hitting the metal on the door so had to screw them in at an angle. Now they are mounted and everything put back together I'm happy.
Pros: Bracket are actually smaller in depth as the factory brackets which made installing after market speakers easier.
Cons: Had to screw the screws in at an angle
It does not fit like they say it does. I want my money back....
Cons: Doesnt fit.Crutchfield response on March 30, 2015 We're sorry to hear that you're not happy with the brackets. Our Tech Support team has reached out to help with the problem. Specifically, in order to use these brackets in your vehicle, you'll need to drill two new mounting holes and also remove any factory bracket that might already exist in the mounting location. Neither of these situations is uncommon when installing new speakers, but they could create some confusion during the installation. Remember, as a Crutchfield customer, you get access to our free Tech Support service, toll-free, seven days a week. Whenever you run into a problem with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, just give us a call.
This unit does the job it needs to.
Cons: Fitment is not always perfect. Only two of the three holes line up on my stock configuration
These worked perfectly, I just had to open a couple of holes and get some screws to fix them to the door, attache the speakers to them and I had my system upgraded.
Pros: Perfect match, ease of install
These brackets worked well. I had to drill a few holes to accommodate my installation, but overall, they did the job.
The mounts were easy to install but, with the 2002 Saturn Vue that I own [(and perhaps because of the Kenwood speakers I bought) this was my first speaker replacement] , aesthetically, the way that they are laid out (alignment wise) I was not able to get the speakers to mount with the logo on the cover in the position I would have liked. My door panels have a built in cover so it was not terrible but, the logos ended up at 4 o'clock rather than at 6 o'clock
Pros: Very easy to install
Cons: Would have had to re-drill the door to get the speakers in the desired position aesthetically.
This product is exactly what you need to install speakers in a 2014 Ford Focus!
Pros: Exactly as advertised.
Not a plug and play mount!! These do fit my Subaru Forester 2011, however you will need to drill new holes in the bracket to line up with all 3 door mount holes. You will also have to cut out a tab for the wires to go through. This was my first project with my car. I liked Crutchfield's tool to help find the parts that fit your car, but the parts didn't without modification. I was worried when I received the parts and saw Toyota or Chevrolet. I don't think the tool should just say that it fits, there should be some type of note with it then. I took pictures as I went, hoping to add them to this review to help others, but there is only the option for a Youtube Review link. The paper manuals I received also weren't printed to fit on a page and so was missing information. Tech support was very polite and able to quickly send me the pdf version, which worked great for me. I would buy from Crutchfield again, but with more research and maybe contacting Tech Support first.
Pros: -Low Cost -Quick shipping -Manuals -Good Tech Support
Cons: -Modifications necessary
Bought these because the site said they would fit a Mazda CX5, however they don't.
Cons:Crutchfield response on December 9, 2014 This bracket will fit the CX-5's rear doors. A different bracket is needed for the front doors. Entering your vehicle in our Vehicle Selector will show you the appropriate brackets and adapters needed for any given location.
These brackets worked great! However, with certain speakers they do need to be trimmed out. Mounting was a breeze and mad the install extremely easy.
Pros: Adapts to different size speakers
Cons: Some trimming may have to be done.
These are not plug and play. You will have to drill new holes. You can use pretty much use any spacer or speaker mounting bracket since only 1 hole matches up. Not worth it.
Cons: Does not fit.
This was one of my better investments. I ordered new speakers to upgrade my trucks audio system. I would not have been successful with my install without these brackets. Thanks Crutchfield for providing an excellent customer experience. A++++++++
Pros: Perfect fit for GMC Terrain.
These rings are designed to mimic the amount of spacer ring that is built into the original speaker of many different vehicles. For my particular vehicle, a 2014 Kia Forte, the thickness of the mounting rings was about half of what the stock speakers are made with. Given that, I effectively am stuck with speakers that have a shallower mounting depth then the stock speakers, so I am limited to speakers that are just shy of 2" mounting depth. That's pretty unfortunate. I also had to drill extra holes since the mounting ring system are 3 holes and the standard mounting from the original speakers are 4 holes.
Pros: Snap plastic that allows 6.5" or 6.75" speakers
Cons: Not as thick as needed. Have to drill additional wholes to mount.
Does not fit 2013 Ford Focus ST!
Cons: Says it is able to be used on this vehicle and they do not match up and which way you move them, multiple reviews on here say they do not fit, I wish i would have read the reviews rather than blindly trusting Crutchfield.Crutchfield response on October 7, 2014 These speaker brackets actually will work in the Ford Focus, but you have to drill two new screw holes in the door panel in order to install them. We realize now that this is not reflected in our installation instructions, so we'll get that corrected. Meanwhile, our Tech Support team is just a phone call away and can always help in situations like this. Lifetime tech support is free with every purchase from Crutchfield.
Speaker mount worked great.
The mounting holes for my particular car almost perfect, only one hole had to do.
Awesome system!! Makes my car sound so much better!
These things work, pretty simple. The holes in them to mount to my door didn't line up exactly right but a little drill love fixed it right up with no major problems. Quick and easy. Plus, they were free!
Pros: Lots of holes to mount to lots of different things. Being plastic, they're easy to "customize" but they are also strong enough that they don't feel flimsy or cheap.
Cons: The mounting holes for my particular car weren't perfect.
This product was a perfect fit for my 2013 hyundai genesis coupe. Easy to install and looks great.
Wasn't able to use the adapters on the 20912 Ford Focus, Holes would not match the Ford door and the size was also not correct.
Pros: I used the Ford speaker as an adapter by removing the speaker from the plastic mounting attached to the speaker. This makes a neat install for the Infinities, see the UTUBE video for these speakers into a Ford Focus.
Cons: Unable to use these.
These adapters did NOT fit my 2014 Ford Focus ST, luckily however the adapters included from infinity with the Infinity cx6500 speakers did fix. So, issue averted.
Pros: Seem to be of good construction
Cons: Did not fit stock speaker locations of 2014 Ford Focus ST.
The item did not even fit my 2013 ford focus. I ended up cutting out the stock speakers and drilling my new ones into the brackets the stock speakers were fitted on.
Cons: Did not fit
THESE WORK AND THATS ABOUT ALL I CAN SAY FOR THEM, THEY ARE VERY FLIMSY AND SO NOT SEAL TO THE ORIGINAL OPENINGS VERY WELL I HAD TO USE A HOT GLUE GUN TO FILL IN THE GAPS BETWEEN THE ADAPTER AND DOOR OPENING
Pros: THEY WORK
Cons: POOR QUAILTY
These guys have the correct size for my car, however didnt line up. I had to drill to fit them on all 4 doors.
Pros: Close to OEM shape
Cons: Screw holes in the wrong locations
Made installation a breeze. Highly recommend. Also I had looked online and the same speakers on Crutchfield were only $.98 higher than online but came with plug and play wiring ant these brackets. Great value.
Pros: Made installation easy. Worth the money
Will not fit 2012 wrx
Pros: None none none
Cons: Everything everythingCrutchfield response on June 2, 2014 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Great product overall. Very easy to install in my 08 impreza. Holes don't completely match up but worked well enough and made installation of the speakers a breeze. Did have to break off a couple of the inner tabs but that was easy as well. Made installation time about 5 minutes.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Don't fit perfect
They aren't a perfect fit for my 2008 Subaru Impreza, but close enough. You'll have to drill a new hole into the door for the top mounting hole. My major issue with these is the mounting holes for the speaker. It's not ahole, but more of a slice, so you really need at least a #10 or #12 thickness/gauge screw for the speaker to actually stay attached to the bracket. Neither the standard Subaru speakers nor the replacement Alpines I bought had such thick screws (all had #8). Luckily Home Depot isn't too far from me..
Pros: It seems to be the best solution available for anyone with a Subaru Impreza 2008-2012 (maybe other years as well)
Cons: Requires drilling a new hole into your door Screw holes for new speakers are too large for standard screws (You may need to buy thicker screws)
These adapters are great. They fit a 2012 kia rio and only needed one extra hole drilled. They fit 6.5" speakers perfectly if you take out the inside molding clips, and 6.75" if you sand the inside a bit. I didn't realize how much better it would make my speakers sound to have them properly mounted.
Pros: Easy to install Inexpensive
Easy to use, made install simple
These were perfect for my Equinox. The offset was perfect, the mounting holes were right on and the speakers screwed right on to them.
Pros: easy to install, perfect hole location
These adapter plates made it easy to install my new speakers in my car. However, I would like to see a more solid way of mounting the speakers to the plates. The screws provided with the speakers were a bit small for trying to use on the plastic, stripped out easy, so I used screws a size larger and they tightened up snug
Pros: Made for easy install of aftermarket speakers
Cons: Slots for mounting speaker to adapter should be made for more solid mounting for better peace of mind
I bought these for my 2003 Toyota Matrix. I had ordered the recommended adapters and those had not worked with the JLA 6.5 speakers I was installing (the opening for the woofer was too small). I spoke with Jenny at Crutchfield and explained the problem. We decided on these and they worked perfectly. I did have to mark and drill the holes for the mounting screws but I fully expected that. The Toyota vehicles don't have any standard sizes and will need to be modified so that is not a fault of the adapter.
Pros: Don't let the price fool you, these are sturdy and provide the spacing so deep basket speakers do not interfere with the windows. I was able to put my door panels back on with no modifications, the spacer height is no problem with the Matrix. All 6.5 and 6.76 speakers should fit these adapters. The inner tabs are removable and can be cleaned up with a file
These speaker mounting brackets made the install so easy.
2013 Subaru WRX. mounted Focal 6 3/4 using these brackets. had to bust all the universal tabs off on the inside (no instructions but you could see where they were lined to make snapping off easier). using the hardware provided from my speakers, I noticed that the mounting spots on the brackets weren't the greatest, I suggest screwing the screws into the bracket first before mounting to the door that way you don't strip or break the bracket. I also had to drill a new hole in between the top holes of the bracket as it didn't line up with my car, wasn't hard to do and didn't weaken the structure of the bracket either as there was plenty of room.
Pros: gives the speakers enough lift to keep them from interfering with the window glass, served their purpose
Cons: no hardware, preset hole configuration didn't line up, no instructions.
Want aftermarket speakers? Better get these.
They fit my over-sized 6.5" Fosgate's. However none of the holes lined up with the door. Multiple attempts at drilling is required, unless you have access to a Smurf that can jump inside the door to mark your holes. Acceptable only if free with purchase.
Pros: Fit my over-sized 6.5" Fosgate's. Free with speakers.
Cons: Multiple attempts at drilling is required to fit door.
mount kit, worked just perfect,it was easy to install no need to cut or drill anything I recommend it !
Pros: great product and worth it !
Works as advertised!
Pros: Very useful in the installation process.
Worked perfectly in my 2012 Subaru forester. Just had to drill an extra hole. Has all sorts of tabs for different size speakers.
Easy to install and use!!
Brackets lined up perfectly, however it would have been nice to have some directions on how to install them
Pros: Perfect fit
Cons: no directions or mounting hardware
These speaker rings work great. I am using them in my '08 Subaru WRX to replace factory speakers with Kicker SSMB6 and Diamond Audio 365. I almost hd my doubts with using them on my Kickers because the large basket, but they are perfect. I'm glad the Crutchfield rep recommended them.
Pros: Universal application for all 6.5" speaker basket sizes.
Cons: Had to drill one mounting hole to mount to the door chassis.
Made replacing my factory speakers a snap.
For a 2009 Suby Forester, I had to drill one extra hole to match up the top screw, and make a notch to bring the speaker wires from behind the speakers to the front. Not much trouble.
Pros: Does the job.
Cons: Minor mods required.
Product fit like a glove. Great design.
Pros: No need to alter it to get it to fit. Great construction.
bought these for my saturn vue, fits really nice and help me keep it looking stock
Perfect fit for the front doors of my 2000 Saturn L-series wagon to replace the OEM factory speakers. Just make sure though that if your speakers that you buy doesn't come with mounting hardware to use #4-40 machined screws with nuts and washers to hold the speaker to this bracket.
Pros: Exact fit for regular sized 6-1/2" aftermarket front speakers.
Put Polk speakers in Forester to replace horrible OEM. This adapter plate did not work at all on the back door. I used the adapter plate that came with the Polk Audio DB 651 speakers and it worked fine, just had to drill one hole. In the front the adapter worked well with the Polk DB 651S. I was able to drill a hole through the third tab to line up with the factory hole...did not have to drill the door at all.
Pros: Works well with Polk Audio DB 651S in 2012 Subaru.
Cons: Unnecessary for Polk Audio db 651 for rear door installation.
The speaker mounting brackets were real pain in the butt, good thing they were free. The front ones were hard to figure out the mounting position. Was told I only needed to drill 1 new hole in each door, I actually had to drill 4 in each of the front doors. Didn't even need to use the brackets for the rear doors.
Pros: Can't really think of any except that I needed the 1 for the front doors
Cons: Enough said
Contrary to what some reviews say, they fit. Just had to snap off the inner tabs with very little effort. This fits my 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer perfectly. I was able to mount my all four of my Pyle 6.5" speakers in about 30 minutes. The instructions were exact and true. Highly recommened for aftermarket setup. Even though it does not say "Mitsubishi" on the package, and there were a small lack of instructions, they work. Only needed a few screws to mount, but the instructions said that. Screws were only a dollar at the hardware store. It does not take a rocket scientest to figure it out.
Pros: Very secure mounting for your expensive speakers
Installed these into a 2009 Subaru Forester front and rear doors for aftermarket Kenwood speakers and at first I was very confused and almost thought they didn't fit. There are absolutely no instructions and they are generic for use with several different makes/models so many different holes and hole patterns. After reading a review on here, I broke off the inner tabs (looks like they are made to break off if needed). Then I could mount the speaker inside the bracket and then the bracket to the door (needed to drill one hole in the door due to only two of the braket holes lining up). I thought it would be more custom for the car, but they are not. They work, but I was a little disappointed at the lack of instructions.
Pros: They work for the 2009 Subaru Forester Free with the speakers I bought from Crutchfield
Cons: No instructions Difficult to figure out what to do (i.e. break off the inner tabs) Not a perfect fit IMO, but they work
Contrary to the previous reviews, these do work fine on a 09-12 Subaru Forester. It's not a perfect fit since only two of the pre-drilled holes will line up. However all that is required to fix this is to drill an extra hole in the bracket itself.
Pros: Free with speaker purchase (thanks Crutchfield!)
Cons: Requires some modification to fit on 09-12 Subaru Forester
First of all these are not for 09+ Subaru Forester. On the bag it said "Chevrolet Equinox/Saturn Vue" Although I managed to fit these but it was not so easy. I had to do some modifications (I had to break the center mounting tubs to fit 5.75 Polk speakers for the front doors. No screws were supplied either. My speakers came with a mounting kit. I was so happy for that. It took me some 4 hours to install all 4.
They worked fine for me, I didn't have to drill holes in my car and had plenty of room for the Polk db65s 6.25'' speakers. You have to rotate them to find correct holes to use. I added some layers of insulation foam to fill in gap from top of speaker to back of door card for more air tight seal. It was tight on the metal surface though. I still made a gasket for the under side too though. Easy, even enjoyable to install speakers with these.
Pros: They worked for me.
These were sent to me for my 2012 Hyundai Elantra (both fronts and rears). They did not come close to matching up with the factory openings. The brackets that came with the speakers were much closer. I give one star not for the quality of the product, but for the fit.
Cons: Totally wrong for my car.
For a 2009 WRX 5dr hatch - These worked, but required some modification. 2 of the 3 mounting holes lined up with the car door, so I had to drill the third hole... no big deal. I fitted these to a set of JL CR-650x. I had to break out the center mounting tabs on the bracket to fit the speaker, and then redrill mounting holes in the bracket to fit the speaker.
Pros: I didn't have to cut up my own spacer rings... these work with minimal effort to modify them.
Cons: They require modifications to work.
Very little explanation on how to install these speaker mounts. Finally figured it out and got them to fit in my 2010 Subaru Impreza. To make these mounts work on my subaru I had to break the tabs on the inside of the mount which went against all of my instincts. Once they are broken the speaker fits to the mount and the mount and speaker fit in the door properly.
Sent me these speaker mounting kits for my door speakers I ordered. Totally didn't work or fit. Could not be fabricated to be made to work. Even if they could, the speaker magnet would have hindered the operation of the front windows (speaker magnet would have hit the window glass). Didn't bother to call; figured I would have been made to feel I was doing it wrong. Spent a good hour and a half fabricating my own from the existing factory speakers. VERY DISAPPOINTED... would like my hour and a half back Crutchfield.
Cons: As stated above
These are wrong brackets. These are suppose to be for this vehicle. It clearly states on their web site and on the kit as "Chevrolet Equinox/Saturn Vue". No mention of Honda. I have to goto lowes and buy extra hardware to make this work. I was very disappointed when I called and pointed out to Crutchfield advisors, And I have talked to a couple, all say that these kits are for multiple vehicles and make you feel that you don't know anything. I bet none have them seen these kits and have seen/installed them. You can buy speakers cheaper elsewhere.. save money and buy the cheaper one. I bought from Crutchfield because of these free extras.
Cons:Crutchfield response on October 20, 2011 Thank you for alerting us to a problem. We did some further research and found a better set of brackets for your vehicle, so we won't be selling these for Hondas such as yours in the future.
These were sent in the package on a speaker install on a Honda Civic. As these are for a GM product, they're obviously useless. Fortunately, I was able to fab a bracket.
Very Cheap plastic that doesn't fit the car as Crutchfield said it would. Prepare to make your own brackets or be re-drilling all holes.
These brackets do not work well for my 08 Honda accord. I had to cut the rear deck and took 3 hours to install one speaker
I was skeptical when I saw this was for a Chevy and Crutchfield sent it to be used in my '08 Honda Accord. First of all there wasn't any screws with the adapters so had to go to the hardware store in the middle of my install to get screws. I then drilled six holes in my car door, mounted the speakers, found they didn't sound as good as my factory component speakers, tried to put the door together anyway and the door panel wouldn't go back on because it was hitting these rings. Took everything back apart and reverted to factory. Waste of a day.
Used them to replace the OEM door speakers of my wife's '07 Pontiac Torrent in conjunction with Kenwood KFC-1662S speakers. Worked as advertised.
I'm sure this product would work fine with vehicle it was designed for, however, it does not fit MY VEHICLE. It is the reason for a required modification. I have an idea: Is it possible to match the make and model for this item??!!
These speaker adapters may work just fine in an Equinox or a Vue, but they won't work in a 2009--11 Honda Fit, nor will cutting out the innards of the factory speakers from their mounts and trying to install 6.5 inch aftermarkets in their place like in a 2007--08 model. What does work are Kenwood J19-7626 universal adapters. They're much thinner and will allow the door panels to clear the speaker cones with plenty of room.
Worked well enough for my purposes, but since I was doing a Honda Accord installation I would have preferred adapters specific to my make to avoid drilling holes. On my CR-V installation (*not* using Crutchfield) I managed to locate Honda speaker adapters at a local shop that worked perfectly without the need to drill.
These brackets definitely made my install end up better but no instructions were enclosed making a lot of guesswork necessary even with the Crutchfield Master Sheet.
2009 Subaru WRx This brackets works and doesnt work at the same time. Works It will mount, you will have to drill a new hole for it to mount using all three locations Doesnt Work It will not mount flush, this may or may not cause ratting Due to not mounting flush the mounting screw have about an 1/4 inch gap and you run a chance on braking the bracket. Speaker is not angled towards the driver and passenger This bracket is for a GM, it kinda works for a Subaru. I want my speakers flush and angled like the stock ones are. I have found a better solution that i will be using.
I knew Crutchfield would be the place to find adapters for my Polk Audio 6 1/2" speakers to fit my 2003 Saturn Vue. They fit perfectly, and they saved me from having to make my own modifications to the doors on the car. Thanks, Crutchfield!
Once again, Crutchfield has done what is expected, met my every need without charging an arm and a leg for it. These fit perfectly in my 2006 Saturn VUE, and made my Infinity Speaker installation a snap.
These speaker brackets fit perfectly in my 09 lancer. It allowed me to upgrade my speakers, and now my system sounds phenomenal. Easy Install. Only downside was it did not come with screws, so I had to buy more screws to mount my speakers on them for my back 5.25 speakers
I ordered a set of speakers for my 2009 Subaru WRX, and these GM adapters came with them. Well, they might fit a GM vehicle, but they definitely DON'T fit my WRX! They don't line up at all with the stock mounting holes. If you have a GM car that these fit, that's great.
Overview: As of 11/6/13, the SAGMEQ656 is compatible with select 2000-2013 vehicles from various manufacturers. The bracket is designed to allow easy replacement of the factory speakers with select aftermarket 6-1/2 and 6-3/4 speakers. 6-3/4 Speakers: For a 6-3/4 speaker to fit in the opening of this bracket, the tabs around the inner speaker opening will need to be removed. They are scored along the bottom for easy removal, but still may require pliers and a file.
5-1/4 Speakers: While a 5-1/4 speaker will mount easily in this bracket given the bolt pattern, the frame of a typical 5-1/4 is approximately 1/2" smaller than the opening in the bracket, making a 6-1/2 or 6-3/4 a better fit. When using a 5-1/4, a speaker baffle must also be used to seal the rear of the speaker.

I already had speakers from a few years ago for a different vehicle. At the time they didn't make brackets for that car. So I'm thrilled I'll be able to just add a bracket to my new truck to use the same speakers and save big; instead of fabricating a new one myself with a lot of trials and errors. [ D Feb 14, 2016 ]

So I don't have to drill into the door frame to mount the speakers. [ Mario Dec 21, 2015 ]
Recommended in a customer installation video for the front speaker location. Why? Because the front speaker opening does not have enough metal to drill new screw hole locations. In simple terms, it was stated and shown in the video how the original speaker opening is a bit large to allow sufficient metal for a secure attachment. Therefore, the installer recommend using the mounting brackets to ensure a solid, reliable and secure attachment of the speaker to the door. [ Rodney Dec 21, 2015 ]
