Cool headband. Smart design. Fabulous sound.

Sure, that headband is an eye-catcher. But the Sennheiser Amperior headphones are first and foremost about the sound. Sennheiser has tweaked their highly-regarded HD 25 DJ headphones for an upgraded performance that delivers tight bass, clear detail and a balanced tone. The result is the impressive Amperior, a portable headphone with a unique look and a sonic signature capable of pleasing even audiophile listeners.

The Amperiors are constructed to survive the rigors of trips to the club. The earcups are solid aluminum, an improvement over the HD 25 that provides more durability. They also provide good noise isolation without the cushioned earcups pressing down too tightly against your ears. So you can hear your music in loud environments with little noise leaking in and little sound leaking out. The earcups also swivel for one-ear monitoring — perfect for DJ use.

Sennheiser Amperior headphones with in-line remote and microphone

Detachable remote for iPhone®, iPod® and iPad®

If you're going to take these headphones beyond your doorstep, you'll appreciate the in-line remote and microphone. They allow you to keep your Apple device secured in your pocket or bag while maintaining track and volume control. You can even answer calls on your iPhone with one-touch ease. The built-in microphone ensures your voice is loud and clear. Worried about compatibility with other devices? The remote detaches from the cable to make sure it's never an issue.

Oh yeah. The headband.

The Amperior's comfort starts with that funky headband. How many times have you found yourself fidgeting with the headband of your headphones? If it's too far toward the front of your head, then every time you lean forward it slips off. Same thing if it's too far back. The adjustable split headband lets you decide exactly how it fits, so the Amperiors stays securely and comfortably on your head as you move around. After all, these headphones aren't designed for sitting still.

Overview: The Sennheiser Amperior are high-quality, DJ-styled on-ear headphones with aluminum ear cups. They are lightweight and comfortable, with a rotating ear capsule for one-ear listening. The Amperior headphones give you balanced audio reproduction with crisp highs, warm mids, and deep powerful bass.

Design: The Amperior has a closed-back, supra aural design which attenuates much of the background noise, even at club level volumes. The headphones are equipped with neodymium ferrous magnets and lightweight aluminum voice coils, which allow them to play loudly. The soft ear pads can be replaced, if desired.

Extension Cables: The cable attached to the headphones is only 12" long, however, two extension cables are included. One extension has an in-line Smart Remote. When the Smart Remote and extension are used, the overall length of the cable is extended to 42". Another extension cable lets you lengthen the headphone cord by another 44". The two can be used separately or together as needed.

Smart Remote: The 3-button Smart Remote lets you control your iPod, iPhone, iPad, and recent versions of Macbooks. The outer buttons control volume up and volume down. The center button controls music playback (play, pause, play next song, play previous song) and phone functions (accept call, end call, reject call, voice control). In addition, the Smart Remote has a built-in microphone, and a clip to attach it to your clothing. The Smart Remote is compatible with:

  • iPod:
    • shuffle: (remote and voiceover functions) 3rd generation and later
    • nano: 4th generation and later
    • classic: 120 GB, 160 GB
    • touch: 2nd generation and later
  • iPhone: 3GS, 4, 4S, 5
  • iPad: iPad and iPad2
  • Macbooks: 2009 and later models of Macbook, Macbook Pro, and Mac Pro
