Comfortable headphones.

Pros: Lightweight and good clarity.

Cons: Cord management is poor. Unless you have this installed almost on a permanent basis with your TV, the cord tangles and can really be a nuisance. I would have much preferred to have a coiled cord rather than this straight one.

For me, the best feature is the individual sound controls, but I also think the earphones are more comfortable than any others I've used.

I needed headphones for watching TV while on the treadmill early in the mornings. I debated between wired vs. wireless and decided on this one primarily based on the reviews. It works great for me. I turn the volume down all the way on the TV, plug this in (using a separate RCA adapter cable purchased separately since my TV doesn't have a dedicated headphone jack) and watch TV. The sound is clear...no static at all. I only need to turn the volume controls not even half way up and I can hear the TV just fine (I'm 58 years old and my hearing is not what it used to be!) I like that the volume controls are on the cable. Although it does not have a mute button on the controls, the mute function can be accomplished by turning the volume controls all the way down. Easy! Bottom line: I am a satisfied customer.

Great, inexpensive headset. Sound quality is better than my tv speakers. I hear things that I would not hear simply listening to the TV speakers. I like the long cord with separate volume control. Very comfortable.

My mom is 3/4 deaf and can finally hear TV voices again. She's very fragile, but the weight of the headphones is fine for her. For elderly people, I think this is better than earbuds, as don't have the "falling out of ear" issue, and this one surrounds the ear enough that the sound isn't escaping. The volume control on the cord, is perfect...lets her control something herself !!! The cord is really long, which is exactly what was needed. Very fair price.

Pros: Haven't had any issues with it. Trying to treat it with care, so it will last a long time, and mom can continue to watch TV. Everybody is happy !!!

Cons: People have a variety of tones that are missing from their hearing, and headphones won't fit every ear in the exact same way, so possibly won't be perfect for everyone, but is worth a try...worked in this case. After researching a lot of headsets, this one seems to be the best one I could find, in the "reasonable" price range.

The cord is quite fragile and fails occasionally. Unable to repair, had to buy new earphones. This is the reason for my current purchase.

Pros: Good sound quality.

Cons: Had to buy separate amplifier - without it the TV Sound would be too loud for person with normal hearing in the room would be drowned out.

These headphones are perfect! I love the way you can leave them plugged into the tv and still be able to control the tv volume through the tv's speakers. Also, the supplied cord was perfectly long enough to reach from the tv to the bed. They are extremely comfortable on the head and very lightweight. Best headphones I've ever owned

Pros: Supplied cord In-line volume control Comfort when wearing Sound quality

This is a great inexpensive headset for use with televisions. The headset fits well and stays in place on your head. The headset works great with good sound quality.

Pros: They fit well and are comfortable on the ears while providing left and right controls for individualized settings on volume.

Cons: The extended cable provided with the headset needs to be longer to provide for more ease in moving around and keeping the cord from being a trip hazard.

I bought these to play video games when my wife is asleep. The sound quality has been surprisingly good for the price of these earphones. I can hear conversations in the background of the video game that I never heard before when playing without earphones at normal volume levels. Would definitely buy again.

Pros: Really good sound quality, comfortable, inexpensive

Cons: None.

HD65TV headset

Written by: Hilton M from Austin, TX on March 17, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Headset is fine. Note, however, that there is a probalem with the connector from the headset into the volumn control. That is, the headphone connector has to be inserted and positioned just right into the volumn control to get 3-D sound or any sound. I think the defect probably lies in the female connector of the volumn control but am not sure. Many thanks for your help.

Pros: Very good sound and comfort.

Cons: Possible defect in the headphone-to-volumn control connectors.

Not Ready for TV

Written by: Chepard from Titusville, FL on February 1, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a good news, bad news product. The headset is comfortable and sound reproduction is good for this price level. However, none of my 3 flat screen TV's have a headphone jack. If this headphone can be labeled "headphones for TV" then any headphone can be categorized as such. In order to use this on any of my TV's, a headphone amplifier which plugs into the audio out receptacles is required. I purchased a Pro-Ject Head Box II to allow the Sennheiser HZR 62 headphones access to my TV. In order to call this a TV headset an additonal expense has to be factored in. I have found the headset quite useful in watching movies on my laptop. The second nitpick that I have with this headset is that the sound level is controlled from the add-on 17 ft extension cord. It would be more useful if it was attached to the headset cord, not the extension cord as I use the unit more without the extension. As an overall evaluation, I am quite satisfied with the HZR 62 headphones. The problem is with the description.

Pros: Decent headset for the price. Comfortable.

Cons: Not ready for TV

The volume control housing also has a clip (designed like a belt clip) to keep it in place.

Comfortable Fit: The HD 65 TV uses soft, leatherette ear cushions and a padded headband for a comfortable fit.

Over-the-Ear Design: A closed, over-the-ear design helps block out ambient noise, allowing you to listen at a safer level.

Neodymium Magnets: The Sennheiser HD 65 TV utilizes powerful neodymium magnets for excellent speech intelligibility and powerful sound reproduction.

Connectivity: The cable attached to the headphones is terminated with a 3.5mm (1/8") mini-plug. The extension cable also has 3.5mm jacks (male on the input end, female on the output end). A 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter is included, for use with or without the extension cable.

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

Quality [ kenny  Jan 09, 2016 ]
I have a hearing problem I use the Sennheiser wireless TV Transmitter with headphones however the wireless transmitter allows only changing of the balance not the volume in each ear I wanted to see if I could = the volume in my ears as opposed to having the volume in one ear very loud just so I can hear a little in the other ear. My hearing aides = the volume when I am using them to listen however I do not use them with headphones Arthur [ ARTHUR  Dec 30, 2015 ]
The description matched my requirements. Price was in my allotted budget. This completed the system I purchased from Crutchfield's. A purchase I made from Crutchfield's about 8 years ago has been passed down through three cars and is still working great. So I figured that if Crutchfield's carried these, they must be good. [ Fred  Dec 08, 2015 ]
Highly Recommended by a Friend. [ Karen  Dec 06, 2015 ]

1 question already asked

Yes. It has a left right slider to control each individually. You can, of course, still use you're tv remote for the overall volume. [ Darlene  Feb 09, 2014 ]
Yes, there are seperate volume controls for each.side, so you can have a different volume level for the right side versus left or vice versa, or even turn one side off or have both sides on the same level. [ JEREMIAH C  Feb 09, 2014 ]
I bought HD 65 TV for my Dad. He is very hard hearing and I had hoped they would make his tv watching more enjoyable. To answer your question; they are a good headset and the volume can be individually controlled and even shut off to either side. The drawback I found is that the amplifier on the tv set is not sufficient to drive them loud enough for my Dad's hearing. The cord is sufficiently long and the sound is good. I blame the volume (or rather the lack thereof) on the puny amp in todays flat screen sets. Hope you find this helpful. [ LARRY C.  Feb 09, 2014 ]
Yes. The control has "left" & "right" slider switches that can be moved independently from no volume to max volume. [ LARRY  Feb 09, 2014 ]
All you could want in a headset.Much better than wireless [ GORDON  Feb 08, 2014 ]
The headphones do not have a mute setting, but you can adjust the volume low enough so that it is impossible to hear the sound coming from the headphones if you don't have them on your head. [ RONNIE R  Feb 08, 2014 ]
I believe you can listen to only one side. But I think the idea is to give you some flexability that would not be available in a standard set. This allows you to adjust each side so you have even volume on both channels. This may come into play depending on our own hearing, what source we are listening to etc.Hope this helps. My experience with these phones was not good [ GARY  Feb 08, 2014 ]
I have these connected to my Sony TV. So the range is limited to that output. You would get more range if you were connected to a A/V receiver. The volume is plenty loud for me. Also you can completely turn off one side of the headphone. The volume slider has a right/left or together function. [ GARY  Feb 08, 2014 ]
